Lowes in Papillion, Nebraska - Worst home improvement store ever

1.1
Details
just walking through the door at Lowe's is a very unsettling experience. They have the strangest employees I have ever come across in any store. They follow you around and are intrusive rather than helpful. The store manager is absolutely the worst. Meetings are scheduled twice a day and employees are berated for not selling enough product. I have heard of the employees that tried to do the right thing and give them two weeks notice that they are quitting only to be told to leave immediately! The two men behind the Pro desk are the worst ever. From now on I will only be shopping at Menards.

Lowes - Terrible service

A few months ago I visited the Lowe's in Durham on 15-501. I expressed interest in purchasing (replacing) some wall-to-wall carpeting in our two master closets plus our adjacent linen closet. I was told that the person who schedules measurements would contact me. That never happened. Several weeks later I stopped by the store in Pittsboro and requested the same thing and selected a carpet preference. I was scheduled for a particular date/time range through Legacy. The person never showed at the appointed time. After several calls and waiting on line, they rescheduled the visit for another day. A few days after the measurements I received an email with a quote. I responded by email that I would go with the quote and asked to have the carpet ordered and installed. I never heard back. Several times I tried to reach the sales rep at the store by phone but there was never an answer. After another two to three weeks I revisited the Pittsboro store and spoke with the manager, who had me pay for the entire carpet/installation and was told that I would be contacted when it was ready. On Tuesday of this week I was called by Legacy, telling me that the installer would be at our house the next day between 9 and 11. I live in a gated community and told the gatehouse to expect a Legacy rep to be coming in during the appointed timeframe. At 10:10 on Wednesday morning my husband got a call from the gate that someone was at the gate and wanting in. He told the gate to let him in...but right after that my husband got a call from a man who apparently was the installer. He spoke very little English and my husband had difficulty understanding him but something like he would come back. I waited about 1.5 hours and never saw the man. I called Legacy and they tried to reach the installer with difficulty. After several phone calls and being tied up all day I was finally told that no-one could come out that day, that it was MY fault because the gate didn't let the man right in. That he had waited one hour and had to leave (not true..he was only there about 10'). I told him that the gate had been told that Legacy should have been let in...someone was at our house to receive them. The Legacy rep told me that it wasn't Legacy that was coming in but an independent contractor. I asked why they hadn't given me that name. I was told that they NEVER give the name of the subcontractor. Now the purpose of the gate is to have a name of every visitor who comes in. I asked why I couldn't have a name and was told it is their policy. When I tried to explain that my husband couldn't understand what the first man had said on the phone, the Lowe's rep said "There are lots of people in this country who speak Spanish!" I explained that I had no problem with that BUT my husband couldn't understand what the man was saying! Later in the day I got another call telling me that someone would come the next morning. I asked for a name and was put on hold 25'. Finally I was given a first name but they refused the last name. Why is that? Just make up a name, at least! (Are they illegals, not bonded, or what?) Waiting another day was a major inconvenience because we had cleared our closet and were expecting guests and also many other things scheduled that day. The carpet is finally in and looks fine, tho now we can't open and close our closet doors, as the person who measured had recommended a thicker pad without mentioning that this would happen. Now I need to get someone out here to shorten the doors.

We paid for a fence to be installed 9 weeks ago. We were initially told 4-6 weeks. Then told they lost our phone number and address, but it would now be 6-8 weeks due to their incompetence in loosing our information. Now 9 weeks in they are saying they will let us know. We are asking for our money back to go with a better company for the project, and they refuse.

I have never encountered anyone as rude as the returns person at Lowes in Hot Springs Arkansas.

I purchased a set of outdoor blinds from your store in Hot Springs Arkansas. When I asked to explain the problem, The African American lady was very rude and cut me off each time I tried to explain my reason for returning the product. I am 74 years old and have never been treated or embarrassed like that before. rest assured, I will never shop at Lowes again and will tell as many people as I can to steer clear of your business. This person needs to be fired. Poor customer service Poor customer service Poor customer service Poor customer service Poor customer service

Lowes - Purchased a riding mower and a used mower was delivered

Details
They were going to replace mower and delivery never happened. Made it seem as if I was at fault. Everything was at the sores convenience and not the consumers. Mower that was delivered had grass and dirt on it and was missing some parts. Delivery of "new mower" was scheduled for 5-7 PM May 30 then changed to 7-9 PM, never got any calls and checked with delivery service several times. They could not contact driver, finally at 10PM they gave up. When i contacted Lowes - I was told that driver tried to call and did not get an answer. Like I said tried to place blame on me.

We installed some laminate floor last summer.. Lowes was fast collecting the money..however it took 2 months to complete the job.. by the end of December the floor started to fall apart.. we have a 1 year warranty.. I have to call every couple of days to get anything moving.. nobody knows anything, nobody can call you back, even their supervisor.. the claim was of course denied since it is a mistake from the installers.. still fighting to get the issue resolve!!! 6 months later!!! NOT ACCEPTABLE! It has been the worth experience ! every time I call i get somebody who apologize and tell me I will be contacted within 48h and every 48h I have to call them back.. Just want the floor fix !

They stay in business because they have run all the competition out and people flock to them because of it. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

In most areas the only competitor they have is Home Depot and maybe Menard's and they are just as bad if not worse!

This is what happens when the big corporations corner a market and they rely on hourly employees to provide service instead of an employee that actually has a vested interest in their business. Nothing new and it's only going to get much, much worse because people want cheap products and convenience.

Lowes in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania - $8000.00 Heating/AC Not Happy!

Lowes - $8000.00 Heating/AC Not Happy!
Lowes - $8000.00 Heating/AC Not Happy!
Heating/AC unit installed by Monk's through Lowe's contract about 10/14. AC worked fine in beginning but now runs almost continuously without providing much in the way of cooling. Takes all day to bring temp down to 74 and seems to run slower, less efficient at night. Called Monk's last year and they just paid no attention whatever to complaint. No call back, no service. Lowe's just passes the buck to Monk's so it looks like a vicious circle. Also don't think much of heat pump base they built. Pictures are of the base of heat pump outside house. They (Monk's) had a problem in the beginning of installation which they fixed but service after, in my opinion, was sadly lacking!Sad

Chances are very good that the original installer doesn't work for Lowe's anymore and is not responsible for it. The box stores go through installers like crazy because the installers eventually figure out that they are making about half as much money working through the box stores as they would if they weren't. They actually end up making about 40% of what they could because the box stores end up taking the rest for themselves.

Your solution is to have a local plumbing and heating firm take a look at it. That's the bottom line.

I learned long ago to NOT have anything done thru a big box store like Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. because you know nothing about the contractors they hire and, as in your situation everyone denies responsibility for poor work.

Best always to hire a local company that is in business for itself and relies on doing good work in order to stay in business. As around if you need to in order to find a good HVAC company.
