Lowes in Mesquite, Texas - No flexibility on return policy

Details
I was refused ability to return a pole saw I’d used once as it was past the 30 day return period. Asked for manager and got more of the same. I’ll be back to Home Depot. Returned a lawn mower there last year after 3 months. Goodbye, Lowe’s!

They aren't a rental shop. If you just need to use an item once, go to a rental shop.

People like you, returning an item they only needed to use once causes prices to increase for the rest of us. Stores and manufacturers have to cover the losses caused by people abusing return privileges at stores.

This is Home Depot's return policy that I found on the internet. Most merchandise can be returned within 90 days in unused, like-new, 100% saleable condition and in the original manufacturer’s packaging.So how were you able to return a used lawn mower?

Optics continue to be NOT GOOD on this issue: About July 12, 2018 we contacted Lowes Executive services, Public Relations, Investor Relations and the new President's admin. to explained what was expected - again.

Still waiting for the appropriate thing to be done, which is --- to send us a Visa card (not for Lowes) in the amount of $50.00 for the continuing inconvenience and disruption of our lives, due to not receiving a simple rebate (of over $314.00) since January 2018.

And, not being treated with the respect, we as Investors and first time customers deserve. While Lowes is now courting the Pro market, private customers like us who support brick and mortar locations are still waiting for Lowes to do the right thing.

Purchased a Bosch dishwasher January 2018 which came with a manufacturer rebate in the form of a Visa card for the installation charge of $314.00. The rebate was submitted by the store but when it was not received in 2 months, we followed up with the sales person, then department managers and store managers. When no progress was made, contacted Lowes Executive Services, outgoing President, Investor Relations and Public Relations, who kicked the issue back to Executive Services. During this 5 month journey, over 25 telephone calls have been made, over 15 emails have been sent. And, despite Lowes being notified that stalling any longer would result in the Media, BBB and DCF being notified and at this point - we were entitled to another $50.00 Visa card for ongoing inconvenience, Executive Services (a misnomer) continues to give excuse after excuse, which does not resolve this issue. Today, Executive Services asked for more time to investigate why the Visa card (they say) was sent over a month ago by USPS was not received by us. So, Lowes now stands for: Lousy Organization Without Essential Services.

Lowes - Kitchen Remodel

Just started the remodel this week. When the so called remodrl expert talked to me there were a few very specific items i mentioned that i wanted done. The job was postponed for 3 weekes and we had to get another contractor. When they showed up to inventory the cabinets that were delivered to me i again mentioned about some cliset doors that i did not see on the contract. She stated she would take care of this for me. Like any other sales person she is bright and friendly until you sign the contract and she gets her commission. Now its like im a bother. Who comes in and quotes a whole new kitchen and yet doesnt add electrical sockets and covers. Why would i use old dingy ones when I'm paying $24000.00 to have my kitchen done. The doors that i wanted, I have to order them and pay for them. According to (JOY). I'll pass on that. By the way, my other doors were already thrown away by the contractor. I'll get my doors later at Home Depot. I was goibg to ho and get a storm door for the front and have the contractor install it, but again, I'll get that at Home Depot. Not at all satisified with the process and I wanted to do my 3 bathrooms next. Not from you guys. Your consultant really needs to learn to be more customer friendly. Instead she is just chasing the money.

When you sign the sales contract it lists all the items that are being purchased. If you don't see new outlets, covers and doors on the contract, you didn't pay for them and won't be getting them unless you go back and pay for them.

Stores put the order on a contract for a reason. It put in black and white exactly what they are providing. Always go over a contract before you sign it. If you don't see what you were expecting or there are items you weren't expecting make sure the contract is changed before you sign it.

As you didn't bother to review it before you signed it you are just as responsible for the missing products as the sales person was. Face it, there are a lot of items involved in a kitchen remodel and 2 people reviewing the order are better than 1.

Resolved: I received a call from Lowe’s customer service after posting my experience and was told someone from the store would be contacting me. The next day one of the managers whose name was Nick reached out to me and helped.

Once I told him my issue was how I had to inconvenience my brother by using his truck ( he’s a contractor and it is loaded with all his tools for work ) he confirmed that a set was in stock and had delivered to me on Sunday. Perfect. Nick was great, honest and professional.

My wife was thrilled that we didn’t have to go somewhere else and she got the patio set she wanted. Alls well that ends well, Thank you Nick.

On Sunday my wife and I went to Lowe’s to look for a furniture set for the deck. We picked one out and payed for it then. Told them we would come back and pick it up on Thursday as I needed to borrow a truck. When we arrived we were informed by a very frustrated clerk that the table was not in stock. She told me it would be at least a week before it came in. I got a refund. I went home looked at the receipt and went online and checked the 2 other Lowe’s within 20 miles of me. They both have the table in stock. My question is why wouldn’t they at least call another store for me to inquire if there was one available. I’ve so had it with Lowes, anything more then light bulbs and I will be on my way to Ace. Enough with this crap. Worst customer service ever!!!!

Is it petty and demanding of me to pay 700.00 for a product and schedule a pick up 4 days later and expect the product to be in stock? Is it petty and demanding of me to maybe wonder why they didn’t offer to call a store near by to see if they had one.

I would have picked it up!’ I don’t ask for special treatment just good customer service. The service in these big stores is the way it is because people like Madge except it.....so sad.

Did you ask them to call another store? There are a lot of people that wouldn't think of driving 20 miles to pick something up. Keep in mind you would have still had to get a refund and buy it again when you got to the other store.

Lowes essentially seems to be giving all of its customers the middle finger. Good luck with that market approach when we have other alternatives, especially Amazon. I went to Lowes today and there was no one there. No checkout person. No Store Manager. I had over $450 worth of plastic containers and they wanted me to scan each one. I left them right there and walked out. I went home and bought them on Amazon for a little over $35 more. But hey, They deliver overnight. I figure if I am going to do self check out, its easier to do so on my couch. Amazon get that. Lowes does not. If I need something ever again and can't wait for it to be delivered, I will go to Home Depot or Ace Hardware. Even if it costs more, its worth paying to avoid the frustration. When I tried to get the store manager, she was out. So was the assistant. Had to wait forever to find that out. So, I tried to call the District or Regional Manager. They don't have one. The one person they say exists, they have no contact information for them. So, middle finger it is. Why do you make it so hard to reach a decision maker or a person of responsibility? Its purposeful. I don't have this problem at Home Depot or Ace Hardware. The only thing a brick and mortar store has as an advantage is customer service. Bad customer service is the death of any such company. Will be selling Lowes short and buying Home Depot.

Home Depot isn't a lot better. My local store has 2 sets of 4 self serve registers.

There is a cashier than can scan multiple items on those lines but you may have to wait for her either because she is too busy shooting the breeze with another employee or she is trying to keep up with multiple registers. All a part of the cost cutting measures in a big box store trying to keep the shareholders happy.

Lowes - Never showed up

Scheduled insulation install at Lowes . They came out bid job and tried to upsell us . We did not go for upsell but what we originally decided on, booked job . Contractor never shoed up after 8 weeks of calling we were told that we were simply forgotten about and they were sorry. Lowes has no quality contractors or associates . All rookies in their field . Prices are VERY high when you compare any product online . Stay Away ..... So sorry we got a Lowes CC instead of Hope Depot when we bought our home 10yrs ago . Big mistake . Just last night had to go into store for a DIY job and at 630pm was able to get no help what so ever . Understaffed to say least , guess they better hire more high school drop out know it alls fast.

DO NOT BUY YOUR APPLIANCES FROM HERE! we purchased a complete set from Bosch and spent more than $10,000. Every single appliance (washer, dryer, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven) that got delivered HAD DENTS! They accept the return for damaged goods but if you are on a schedule to finish your project, it is a nightmare. They work with 3rd party delivery guys who not only dent your appliances but also damage the house while carrying! It’s been a horrible experience..

Lowes - The worst experience in life.

We went on 5/27/18 to the Lowe in Wallingford Ct. to purchase a grill, the will be ready for pickup the following day (Sunday) . I told the associated l don’t need until Monday, l call the on Monday around 9:00am to let them know that I going to pickup the grill, nobody knew about the grill. I talked to one of manager named Justin this guy should be pumping gas on a gas station because he’s not a manager to make this story short they sold the grill to someone else, they have a perfect location however they don’t have management.
