Lowes - Worst customer service ever!

Lowes has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered appliances from lowes (physical store) to be delivered to my new residence. They give me a delivery date with a time frame of 3pm-5pm. At 5:30 pm I call and they tell me they weren’t able to deliver today (no call, no email to let me know). They tell me delivery will be the following day from 5pm-7pm. They arrive 7:40 pm. The next day when I open the dishwasher it is banged up on one side- It looked like the delivery men threw down the boxes without care. I call to let them know that the dishwasher came defective and if they can come and replace it and they tell me I have to come and bring it to the store for an exchange which is ridiculous!! Wait there’s more… I had also placed an order online for 3 ceiling fans and two thermostats from them. They called me a few days later and told me they did not have the thermostats in stock and would not be able to deliver them. I told them that was fine and that I'd get the thermostats somewhere else. The day after my missed scheduled delivery, I call and I am informed that our order has been cancelled because of inventory issues (again, no call no e-mail). The girl I spoke to on the phone didn’t even want to attempt to help me. I asked that the order be placed again and due to their mess up I asked if they could expedite the delivery, which she refused. I was persistent and she put me on hold for 30 minutes!!! After waiting and waiting I started yelling into the phone that I would be filing a complaint and magically she answered the phone right then! Anyways she told me one day shipping wasn't possible, which I don't believe, but I agreed to the 3 day shipping. A day later I get an email with the delivery confirmation and the address is somewhere in Alabama (I live in Las Vegas) and on the order its one thermostat and 2 ceiling fans (supposed to be 3 ceiling fans only). I call today to fix and they tell ME, that I have to call fedex to fix the address or call back tomorrow to essentially remind them to do their jobs. I call the next day again and they tell me that a “specialist team” was going to contact me in 3 days to reorder the products, I told them to just give me my money back. What a terrible experience. Go to Home Depot! Much more professional and helpful. PS Lowe's uses a third party carrier to deliver their products so they can differ blame and responsibility.

Lowes - Great

I always have a great time at lowes I even like their coffee....we shopped their all the time..they have an excellent wood department..plumbing section...ligting is great..painting will match your color,,, they hace nuts and bolts...concrete for small repairs...washer and dryers....but I have never bought carpet i use bobs flooring.. i will not buy funiture there ..but they are great for home inprovement.. I also like there self check out things go smoothly while checking out..they have plenty of carts to tow your things around the store...great place for the improvements you need to mantain the home...home depot is even better.

Lowes in Garden City, New York - Fence install gone bad

I hired Lowe’s for my outdoor fence project. They came measured can me my drawings I approved and paid in full. My order was dropped off then an installer came 2 days later. Well I don’t have enough fencing in short by 3 sections no hardware fir my gates and no caps. Silent 2 1/2 hours calling and no one can help me. Called Georgia also. Well 3 days have gone by and everyday I call day the story to whoever answers the phone I’m tired of saying the same thing and then me and nobody could help me . Your total area is usually less than the square footage of carpet you need unless you want a lot of seams in your room. Lets take a 10' x 10' room for example.

That's 100 square feet. Most people would rather have one piece or carpet without seams in the room. As carpet comes in 12' widths 120 square feet would be ordered and you would have a 2' x 10' scrap. Of course they could order a 12'x8.33' carpet, cut it up into multiple pieces and seam them all together to make your 10'x10' carpet.

Of course you would end up paying more labor and have a bunch of seams in your room. I know I'd rather have some scrap carpet left over than a bunch of seams in my carpet.

Lowes in Norcross, Georgia - Demolished Kitchen with forced cancellation

The journey started with Lowe's about January. We went in the store looking to purchase cabinets. We were told that Custom Cabinets would take several months, and was advised to go with in stock they would take about two weeks; so we decided to just go with the in-stock cabinets. We paid for the measurements and it took about a month before the measurement guy came out. Then trying to get the cabinet set up we had to switch to another representative because the one that was in the store didn't know what he was doing. We visited the store several times and trying to get everything squared away so about 2 months later we finally was able to get things kind of setup. At this point we contacted corporate office of Lowe's to assist since the customer service was deplorable. We went through so much in 3-months that corporate made the manager give us a discount, however when we came in we didn't have the cost of installation established by the in store representative, so yet again another week went by before this could get done. Finally got everything going but then the cabinets had several delays and delivery with JB Hunt which caused us to be off work several different times. Finally when the cabinets were delivered, we open the packages and out of 12 cabinets ordered 10 were damaged. We contacted the corporate person in charge (Cindy) and informed them and sent pictures showing the damages and at this point in time the lady Cindy considered herself getting personally involved and upset with us in the whole process of trying to get things resolved (imagine that. We are the customers) that her solution was to just cancel the project because she felt we was being to difficult and hard to pleased. Are we supposed to accept damage cabinets and bad customer service? Now this time I'll kitchen is totally demolished and to cancel the project I told her that was not an option so I had to escalate to higher authorities in Lowe's management which took over two weeks with no return called on three escalation to get it resolved through Lowe's management. I told Claire that Lowe's need to live up to their obligation and get our project done because as of right now to have us and our kids with no kitchen no cabinets no sink no nothing it just bare and we have been eating out everyday incurring more expenses than we anticipated. Remind you that this process supposed to had only took two weeks and we are now on the 5th month. I'm very disappointed with Lowe's with this whole process and it's just not right for this to have taken place this way and to spend all these expenditures and still not have cabinets installed and for Lowe's to decide that they are going to cancel the project as a solution is unacceptable. So let's hope that the corporate office and resolve this issue and get our cabinets installed within next week. Corporate office told me they opened the file back up and have escalated above the department that canceled the project and left us in the awkward position. They told me there's nothing they can do but re-order the new cabinets but that's it. They are not installing them because it's cancelled and management refunded my money against my will. This company is a joke and don't care about people livelihood. I'm contacting the news.

It should have been pretty obvious when it took 2 months to even "kind of" get an order for stock cabinets set up that you should have walked away and gone elsewhere. You could have gone to a local cabinet shop and had custom cabinets built and installed for a similar price in a fraction of the time you spent with lowes. Why didn't you pay attention to the warning signs that problems were ahead and run from Lowes?

They were supposed to deliver the dishwasher we purchased over a month ago, between 9 and noon. No one ever showed. No one called. My husband had to email them to get any response and they simply said they never got the item and that they will deliver over a week later, on May 6th, which is a Sunday. We seriously doubt they actually will deliver that Sunday, especially now that I have seen about a thousand one-star ratings for them throughout various review sites. The thing that *** me off most is their utter disregard for us, the customer. We never used them before to buy our appliances, we used Home Depot. They actually do call you when they are delivering, and keep you informed, and are a thousand times better than Lowes. I didn't love Home Depot at all before, which is why we went with Lowes this time, (Home Depot had rescheduled our fridge delivery last month 2 or 3 days before they were supposed to originally deliver) but at least they called to make sure we were informed and not waiting around. I had sat around with an 11-month-old and my thumb up my butt way after the delivery window, despite the fact I had hired a babysitter that day so that I could go out and work, and yet I still paid her, because she was scheduled to work, and it wasn't her fault Lowes sucks donkey d#%^@, and I don't leave people in a lurch like this company did to us. (She doesn't speak English, so I didn't want to leave her to deal with them.) So they rescheduled two more times, finally delivering today, (and my child is over a year old now). The guys literally dumped the box in my kitchen and walked away after taking a picture. They didn't install it or even take off the box. Just left it in my kitchen. I seriously couldn't hate this company more. I don't know why I tipped the delivery guys, but I still did, because I'm not a jerk and they did haul it up the stairs. I had told my husband to cancel the order, but he forgot all about it since it took so long, and suddenly we received a text last night when we were in bed saying it would be delivered today. Plus, I should have canceled it since it pissed me off so much, but I was lazy and left the responsibility on his shoulders... Of course, the timing worked out that it was during my son's nap time, though that is not their fault, and so our kid woke up. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I will be going elsewhere for our washer and dryer and new stove and microwave. I have never hated a company more.

Lowes - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

i went to my Lowes store in Mooresville Indiana to buy a thermostat wire strand. When I went up to the hardware counter, there were 3 employees shooting the breeze. Two of them sitting, one standing, and when I asked about the item I needed, I was told we don't carry it. So I walked around and bumped into another employee who told me that they DO have the item, and told me which aisle to go to, but did not offer to go and show me. I found the item 10min. later, and pushed the customer help button. I waited more than 5 min, when an employee named Shane came over from the carpet area. I explained how I got terrible service from 4 employees, and Shane offered his apologies for that. He offered great service and got me on my way. This is not the first time that I have encountered bad service, but my time is just as valuable as theirs. They need training.

Lowes - Kitchen nightmare

Don’t do it! I spent $30,000 for a kitchen remodel. Lowe’s miss measured ceiling height, cabinets widths, so cabinets were off. They expected Contractor to correct/pay for their mistake. the Contractor was sweet, but incompetent. The remodel took over a year, 6 months with no kitchen. Flooded kitchen three times. I now have less storage space because the inserts don’t fit. Floors uneven. One of the workers came to the job high on *** and drank 3 beers out of fridge...I kid you not. The store tried to blow me off, but the National office in North Carolina tried to rectify everything, except the floors and water damage. They did offer to replace cabinet, but I declined since that meant ripping out counter and plumbing. At this point it had taken about 14 months.

I am going through the same thing. They mismeasured around the heater/air conditioning vents and the cabinets had to be remade.

I have been without a fully functioning kitchen since August 1. My house is full of boxes of cabinets. They were supposed to install today, but canceled because we had some boxes stored in the garage, even though we moved the boxes to the living room, dining room and bedrooms several days ago, apparently the wood has to acclimate longer.

I have almost given up and resolved to the fact it will be a few more weeks. Hopefully by Thanksgiving.

We ordered carpet from Lowes and a truck full of rude installers showed up at our house. The didn't even greet us and immediately started complaining about matresses piled up in one room. When i asked if we could have a conversation about the install process he stormed off. He was being so disrespectful to me that i knew they weren't going to be respectful of our property and i told them to leave. He called me a bit**. When i called Lowes shaking they said the only thing they could do was have a different crew from the same company they have a contract with come out to install or refund our money. I've never experienced such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I will never enter a Lowes store again.
