Lowes - J R Rogers

I paid Lowes to install the cabinets i purchased at their store only to have the subcontractor, did not know how to install cabinets. Unfortunately i didn't figure this out until he was done and i took a look at the final product. one top cabinet was 1 1/2 higher than the other, lower cabinet were not level, handle are crooked, and job site not cleaned when he left the job. Very nice young man, but did not have the experience needed for installing cabinets. Now going through the nightmare of working with lowes to correct the problems. i paid a good amount to have lowes install these cabinets, very sad.

Lowes - Expectations Not Met and Inexperienced Installation Services Staff

I have spent over 30k with Lowes and this 4th project (bathroom) renovation) was the last straw for me. First of all, the customer has to be their own project manager as they have a major issue with communication not only to the customer but to all those involved in the project. I had to keep them on track and constantly follow up with Lowes if I wanted to keep the project moving forward. It took 3 weeks to get the estimate from Lisa Ford. When I went in to review it on April 6th, I placed emphasis that the job has to be completed by May 12th as I have family coming down for a visit. I even requested that we should schedule the work now in expectation of the parts arriving on April 25th. She assured me that this is possible and that is the main reason I agreed to the contract. It has been my experience that once the material is delivered; the work begins within a day or two. I had to call your installation services twice to get an update because they never contacted me. During my last call with Kayla she stated that they would be arrive to inspect the parts on Friday May 4th at 4:30 and at that time, we can confirm the day. With that said, she stated that she understood my sense of urgency with regard to the job being completed by May 12th. Upon their arrival, is when I was told that there was no way that they could meet my date of May 12th. The excuse that the contractor stated was due to other projects that have had several delays. As you can imagine, I was pretty angry about the situation as I canceled a business trip for the week of May 7th in order to have this completed. Frankly I really don’t care about their delay issues as I was given an expectation and they should stand by it. I have a very busy schedule in May so the only available time I have is on May 29th. I called and spoke to your weekend manager on May 5th and he stated that he would look into it and (as usual) I have yet to be communicated with regarding my request. At this point, my wife and I have lost total confidence in their quality and ability to get the job done correctly the first time. We decided to cancel the installation potion of the project and keep the parts so we can seek a more reliable contractor.

The "Independent Contractors" are not Independent when working for Lowe's. The "Independent Contractors " brought suit against Lowe's for same benefits of in store employees.

These contractors were made to wear apparel with Lowe's logo and to represent themselves as working for Lowe's on any jobsite. These contact ARE indeed employees of Lowe's Home Improvement. This suit was won and they do have the same benefits and must follow the same rules as in store employees. If your situation is ever turned over to Lowe's Corporate for their insurance to cover any damages, it is then that it is proof that Lowe's IS responsible for any home improvements that have gone wrong.

I won't go into any details of a ruined window instulation although it was several years of trying to deal with a woman that decided she was my God and judge and jury. I will never have Lowe's install anything in my home nor would I ever recommend anyone else to do it. These "Contractors" that did an install of several thousand dollars in a complete window replacement, had never installed a window in their life. I had huge gaps between the sheetrock and Windows, broken brick from the sledgehammer they used to remove old windows and interior sheetrock completely missing and filled with caulk.

If this is acceptable for any homeowner, I suggest you have money to burn. If these situations are not acceptable to you, hire a local contractor that happens to be licensed within the state for further recourse. Lowe's leaves no options on recourse and it is their way or no way. I did not want the contractors back in my home so the store manager turned it over to their insurance.

If these contractors are independent, their own insurance would pay for any damages to your home and not Lowe's Insurance. Lowe's Home Improvement has become my home disaster and extreme stress. If they wanted to keep consumers of their products and installations, they would do anything to make us happy. Instead they want the money with little or no qualified employees to do the work.

In hindsight I wish I had hired an attorney to fight the corporate Lowe's. At least I would have known I put up a fight for my rights as a homeowner and so much less anxiety in talking to a woman who is a royal ***

I am having the same issue.. two months in and no communication.

the local store manager offering us additional discount on parts if we are willing to wait for backordered parts to come in. yikes i hope we have no further issues

After all the arguments with them I finally got my stuff but i actually had to call them numerous times and actually tell them i was going to channel 4 news than I received my bathroom vanity and other things within a half hour. But I shouldn't have had to go through all that aggravation.

You are looking at a self service home center. Do you really think they are going to test your soil?

They may sell a kit for you to test your own soil.

You should be looking for a local nursery or garden center if you want someone to test your soil. Self service stores just aren't trained or staffed to do such things.

Kitchen remodel nightmares are yours from Lowes

We started this nightmare the beginning of January, are now on third order of replacement cabinets. this last order is for custom curved shelves for end of cabinet row. was just plywood with iron on edging for $306.00. (Custom my ***) edging coming loose in corners and saw blade marks on shelves. flooring transition strip to living room has large gap you can see stripes of glue, when floor was installed the installer had a 5 gal pail of tools that a drill motor with drill bit in it, it must have fell and poked *** n new floor. and my garage is now full of broke and bad painted cabinets and cardboard. Call project manager and they don't answer phone so i called from different phone and got an answer, but no answers to my questions and never got back with me. i call every day now trying to get this job fixed and done with no reply.

Was trying to get screens for my windows. And scott in millworks was never anywhere to be found... I tried for like a week strait. And they could never get him... I gave up. Went to home depot. And got the exact measurment by my numbers on the glass. Right over the phone. Seekonk ma lowes. Was the worst. Stay away

If Home Depot determined what screens you need from the numbers soon the glass, the window were a brand sold by Home Depot. As Lowes and Home Depot sell different brands of windows Lowes wouldn't have been any help anyway. When replacing parts of a window you should always go to a store that sells the brand of windows you own.

and if the person that handles this had been available to talk to they could have told the op that, but they were not responsive to attempts.. as was stated. Nothing more annoying than cant find help when you need it.

I thought these review were a fluke, nope, Lowes did a terrible job. List of issues 1.I tried to cancel the order do to the recent bad weather knocking down a large tree, directly in the path of were the fence was to go. There was also the accumulation of a huge pool of water in the same path (It’s a new house, this was not anticipated or I would have had the fence put in another area of my yeard). I explained I need to re-assess the location of the fence because of the water table of terrain. The sale men would not let me cancel the order and simply replied (the fence parts will be dropped off on the 1st and the workers would install it the 5th.) giving me no option to cancel. I guess once Lowes has your order, there is no canceling no matter the reason. 2.It was two months before anyone replied to me to schedule the work. 3.The fence installer showed up unannounced a day early when I was not home and started working. Once again without notice. 4.The fence measurements were wrong; I am 3 feet short of the agreed-upon fence run. Let me make sure you understand what I am saying. Literally, Lowes left a 2 ½ foot gap in my fence. The whole reason for the fence was to keep my dog in the yard. Guess what the fence does not do now? So 3+ grand down the crapper! Thanks Lowes, 5.The installer did NOT consult me on changes to the original layout of the fence. Now I have a random gate at the end of the fence, NEXT TO A 2 ½ FOOT OPENING!!!! We have temporarily put some ugly green mesh up to block it until we can find a permanent solution. 6.The fence installers took it upon themselves to move the tree that was laying in the way (they were notified beforehand it was one of the reasons I needed to cancel the order), they dumped it in my NEIGHBOR’S YARD. Now I have to drag this very large tree and its parts over the fence and place it back into my own yard. 7.The fence posts are now running through topsoil where the water table floods the ground, this means the fence posts have been put in an unstable soil, and in a small amount of time the fence will start to lean at different angles. Also overtime the water will destroy some of the materials used in the fence. 8.They forgot the tension cable that they charged me for. 9.The installer took the remaining fence I had paid for. 10.The one piece he could not fit in his truck, he told me someone would pick it up and give me a refund for it. It is still sitting in my driveway. 11.FOLLOW UP CALL. The person who called me to follow up on the work performed had me take pictures and measure the dimension of the fence, which proved the fence was about 3 feet shy of the original agreed fence run. He did not offer to have the work completed, instead opted to blame the bush located about 3 feet away for the end of the run. At that point I told him I didn’t have time for this crap anymore. I could go on. But I think you get the idea….

Lowes - Lousy

We went into Keizer, Oregon store on April 18th in the plumbing dept and ordered a kitchen sink. The salesperson and the sign below sinks said $250.00 would be the installation charge. We were told it would be $40.00 to have an installer come out and take measurements. We were told we would get a call in a couple of days. Three weeks later we finally get the guy to come look. We called the store the next week and were told in addition to the sink it would be $627.00 to install. Needless to say we are out the $40.00 with a very bad taste in our mouth about Lowes and will not go back there again. The only good thing that happened was when we called in anger, your Andrew was a delight and did all he could to find out what was going on an yesterday, May 9th.

Lowes in Spring, Texas - Complaint about Pricing & Employees Not Helpful

I went to buy insulation. Above the product in small print says, Original price $17.43 but Sale Price $12.99. The price was located way above the insulation in t he middle. So I thought great its on sale. I bought it for my contractor who is putting siding on my house and I wanted insulation put in this bay window. Then low and behold I get to register and price comes up 17.43. Then to find out when I asked why it rang up not the sale price; they told me it was only for contractors if you bought in quantities. Well that's not fair when your price ticket says it is on sale. Should be for the general public too. Then I asked for a Manager who never came to the front. Wow what customer service? Well this actually did it for me to shop at Lowes. Home Depot has a wonderful team and they are their to please the customer. I would have received the sale price as I have in the past at Home Depot. I went here because it was closer and my contractor was waiting for it. You need to take a lesson from your competitor. Well Home Depot has my business from now on. That's all I can say. thanks

Contractor price means that you buy X amount and get it for a lower price. Example, buy 5 get each one for 12.00 instead of buying 4 and paying 15.00 for each.

This isn't just for contractors, it's for everyone. Contractor price is mostly always in yellow on the price sticker.

Lowes - WTF unbelievable incompetence

Lowes has been out to measure and install our carpet at least 6 times over the past year. Every time they've come to install the carpet they have the wrong measurements and the carpet doesn't fit. How can anyone be this incompetent this many times? On top of that they won't discuss a refund or partial refund until after the job is complete. Well that would require them to complete the job which more than a year later they still haven't done. I will absolutely be bringing a court action for breach of contract, then I'm sure we'll be forced to arbitration but I would rather drop 10K on legal fees than to give these people a dime. I have a rental company that leases residential property, guess who will never get a floor contract on any of those properties! If every idiot at Lowes woke up, realized what terrible people they are and how worthless they are as human beings, and slit their own throats the world would probably be better off.
