Lowes review in Norcross, Georgia: Demolished Kitchen with forced cancellation

The journey started with Lowe's about January. We went in the store looking to purchase cabinets. We were told that Custom Cabinets would take several months, and was advised to go with in stock they would take about two weeks; so we decided to just go with the in-stock cabinets. We paid for the measurements and it took about a month before the measurement guy came out. Then trying to get the cabinet set up we had to switch to another representative because the one that was in the store didn't know what he was doing. We visited the store several times and trying to get everything squared away so about 2 months later we finally was able to get things kind of setup. At this point we contacted corporate office of Lowe's to assist since the customer service was deplorable. We went through so much in 3-months that corporate made the manager give us a discount, however when we came in we didn't have the cost of installation established by the in store representative, so yet again another week went by before this could get done. Finally got everything going but then the cabinets had several delays and delivery with JB Hunt which caused us to be off work several different times. Finally when the cabinets were delivered, we open the packages and out of 12 cabinets ordered 10 were damaged. We contacted the corporate person in charge (Cindy) and informed them and sent pictures showing the damages and at this point in time the lady Cindy considered herself getting personally involved and upset with us in the whole process of trying to get things resolved (imagine that. We are the customers) that her solution was to just cancel the project because she felt we was being to difficult and hard to pleased. Are we supposed to accept damage cabinets and bad customer service? Now this time I'll kitchen is totally demolished and to cancel the project I told her that was not an option so I had to escalate to higher authorities in Lowe's management which took over two weeks with no return called on three escalation to get it resolved through Lowe's management. I told Claire that Lowe's need to live up to their obligation and get our project done because as of right now to have us and our kids with no kitchen no cabinets no sink no nothing it just bare and we have been eating out everyday incurring more expenses than we anticipated. Remind you that this process supposed to had only took two weeks and we are now on the 5th month. I'm very disappointed with Lowe's with this whole process and it's just not right for this to have taken place this way and to spend all these expenditures and still not have cabinets installed and for Lowe's to decide that they are going to cancel the project as a solution is unacceptable. So let's hope that the corporate office and resolve this issue and get our cabinets installed within next week. Corporate office told me they opened the file back up and have escalated above the department that canceled the project and left us in the awkward position. They told me there's nothing they can do but re-order the new cabinets but that's it. They are not installing them because it's cancelled and management refunded my money against my will. This company is a joke and don't care about people livelihood. I'm contacting the news.

It should have been pretty obvious when it took 2 months to even "kind of" get an order for stock cabinets set up that you should have walked away and gone elsewhere. You could have gone to a local cabinet shop and had custom cabinets built and installed for a similar price in a fraction of the time you spent with lowes. Why didn't you pay attention to the warning signs that problems were ahead and run from Lowes?

They were supposed to deliver the dishwasher we purchased over a month ago, between 9 and noon. No one ever showed. No one called. My husband had to email them to get any response and they simply said they never got the item and that they will deliver over a week later, on May 6th, which is a Sunday. We seriously doubt they actually will deliver that Sunday, especially now that I have seen about a thousand one-star ratings for them throughout various review sites. The thing that *** me off most is their utter disregard for us, the customer. We never used them before to buy our appliances, we used Home Depot. They actually do call you when they are delivering, and keep you informed, and are a thousand times better than Lowes. I didn't love Home Depot at all before, which is why we went with Lowes this time, (Home Depot had rescheduled our fridge delivery last month 2 or 3 days before they were supposed to originally deliver) but at least they called to make sure we were informed and not waiting around. I had sat around with an 11-month-old and my thumb up my butt way after the delivery window, despite the fact I had hired a babysitter that day so that I could go out and work, and yet I still paid her, because she was scheduled to work, and it wasn't her fault Lowes sucks donkey d#%^@, and I don't leave people in a lurch like this company did to us. (She doesn't speak English, so I didn't want to leave her to deal with them.) So they rescheduled two more times, finally delivering today, (and my child is over a year old now). The guys literally dumped the box in my kitchen and walked away after taking a picture. They didn't install it or even take off the box. Just left it in my kitchen. I seriously couldn't hate this company more. I don't know why I tipped the delivery guys, but I still did, because I'm not a jerk and they did haul it up the stairs. I had told my husband to cancel the order, but he forgot all about it since it took so long, and suddenly we received a text last night when we were in bed saying it would be delivered today. Plus, I should have canceled it since it pissed me off so much, but I was lazy and left the responsibility on his shoulders... Of course, the timing worked out that it was during my son's nap time, though that is not their fault, and so our kid woke up. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I will be going elsewhere for our washer and dryer and new stove and microwave. I have never hated a company more.

Lowes review: BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

i went to my Lowes store in Mooresville Indiana to buy a thermostat wire strand. When I went up to the hardware counter, there were 3 employees shooting the breeze. Two of them sitting, one standing, and when I asked about the item I needed, I was told we don't carry it. So I walked around and bumped into another employee who told me that they DO have the item, and told me which aisle to go to, but did not offer to go and show me. I found the item 10min. later, and pushed the customer help button. I waited more than 5 min, when an employee named Shane came over from the carpet area. I explained how I got terrible service from 4 employees, and Shane offered his apologies for that. He offered great service and got me on my way. This is not the first time that I have encountered bad service, but my time is just as valuable as theirs. They need training.

Lowes review: Kitchen nightmare

Don’t do it! I spent $30,000 for a kitchen remodel. Lowe’s miss measured ceiling height, cabinets widths, so cabinets were off. They expected Contractor to correct/pay for their mistake. the Contractor was sweet, but incompetent. The remodel took over a year, 6 months with no kitchen. Flooded kitchen three times. I now have less storage space because the inserts don’t fit. Floors uneven. One of the workers came to the job high on *** and drank 3 beers out of fridge...I kid you not. The store tried to blow me off, but the National office in North Carolina tried to rectify everything, except the floors and water damage. They did offer to replace cabinet, but I declined since that meant ripping out counter and plumbing. At this point it had taken about 14 months.

I am going through the same thing. They mismeasured around the heater/air conditioning vents and the cabinets had to be remade.

I have been without a fully functioning kitchen since August 1. My house is full of boxes of cabinets. They were supposed to install today, but canceled because we had some boxes stored in the garage, even though we moved the boxes to the living room, dining room and bedrooms several days ago, apparently the wood has to acclimate longer.

I have almost given up and resolved to the fact it will be a few more weeks. Hopefully by Thanksgiving.

We ordered carpet from Lowes and a truck full of rude installers showed up at our house. The didn't even greet us and immediately started complaining about matresses piled up in one room. When i asked if we could have a conversation about the install process he stormed off. He was being so disrespectful to me that i knew they weren't going to be respectful of our property and i told them to leave. He called me a bit**. When i called Lowes shaking they said the only thing they could do was have a different crew from the same company they have a contract with come out to install or refund our money. I've never experienced such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I will never enter a Lowes store again.

Our model# WF42H5200AF/A2 has been replaced per Lowe's Personnel by WF45N300AF. This Samsung washer is plagued with issues. Water leaking on the floor, violently shakes and bangs,never finishes a wash cycle and shuts off during wash cycles and restarts keeping the washer in a infinite wash cycle. Lowe's Extended Warranty Dept is dishonest and full of nonsense. Lowe's is very slick in that when a service call is commenced there is no record for the customer. Folks no work order or a receipt of any kind is given to the customer when service is rendered. I questioned Tasha at Lowe's Corporate and she replied nastily that I did not pay for service and they did so I'am not entitled to a receipt. I have news for Tasha at Lowe's Corporate I paid up front through a Lowe's Extended Warranty Plan and what they are doing is dishonest and needs to be challenged. With her quick smart lip she insisted on emailing them however they have never arrived. Every call to Lowe's Warranty Dept prompts a different answer from different person(2). The short answer is that they do not care about the customer. Maybe after 30-45 if luck is involved they may give you a loaner machine or reimburse laundry mat cost through there shallow long winded worded sham. I have personally witnessed Lowe's true colors and it has forever changed how I feel about Lowe's. Folks for the rest of my days on Earth I will never knowingly purchase anything manufactured by Samsung. Future spending with Lowe's will be dialed back until they change there ways. The reviews the comments ands the complaints in reference to Samsung are plentiful so proceed with caution. I do not recommend this washer or any washer from Samsung and I feel the same about giving Lowe's money for extended warranties. Remember the place called Sears, Lowe's is walking the same path and eventually will end up in the same place. Taking customers warranty money for peace of mind and sticking it to them when they need the help. FYI the Samsung Garbage washer dryer combo that Lowe's sold me with a 5 year extended warranty replaced a previous problem plagued Samsung washer dryer combo. Class Action Law Suit against Samsung needs to get underway.

Lowes review: Poor customer service and installation

Purchased carpets from Lowe’s with installation. They send someone to install the rugs. One of the bedrooms sliding glass doors would not glide after installation. Told the installer before he left. He went back said he had fixed it. After he left I went and checked and it still won’t glide. After 5 calls to customer service they said they would send an inspector. They did. The inspector said that it has nothing to do with the installation. I told him the doors glided before he said the his man did not remove the doors. I told him I was there and he did. He said he will check the report again. It’s been over a month I keep calling they keep transferring me and kee putting me on hold and never come back to the phone. He also punteros the wall inside the closet. House is up for sale and I need to get this fixed right away. Photo of last time I called and was put on hold by the installation manager for over 30 minutes with no one coming back to the phone.

Lowes review: Buying lawnmower

Last summer, I brought my dad a lawnmower we pay for it & we got warranty for they made it seem so great until you need to use they don't want to work with you. Don't get me started with the manger he was useless why sell products if you know it's junk. The problem I have with the whole I understand you need a receipt when you purchase things, but why don't you put all your costumers information on the computer & why you lie to them. Now I'm going to have with work on my roof I don't even know if I can trust with this whole lawnmower situation.

Return policy on lawn equipment is 30 days. No exceptions.

You'll have to go through the manufacturer. I suggest you start looking for the receipt or accept the loss.

Lowe’s computers only go back 6 months... did you think to put the oh so important purchase on a mylowes card which TRACKS your receipts?

No of course not.

The warranty company needs the invoice # off that receipt, period. So you need the importance of keeping a receipt when you’ve purchased a warranty explained to you???

What exactly are you complaining about? Are you upset that an employee from another department came to help you and took a little longer than someone that worked in the department would or that they were out of stock on the paint you needed?

I don't know that either is a valid complaint.

At least someone came to help rather than letting you stand there and wait. Stores also run out of items from time to time.

My husband who is a Vet was declined the Vet discount yesterday, because he was NOT registered in the Rome store. He has the card all the info. I can't believe it!! We have done business with this company ever since the Vet Cards came in to view. We shop @ the Utica,N.Y. store, with out any issues. A Vet is a Vet. It saddens me to think, that they are treated this way. All stores should honor these cards, with out being registered at all of them. One store, I think would be enough. It should be in the computer the same to honor them. Laurie & Vince Carey

Well if you choose to go to a different retailer, you don't get a discount period.Now what may not of be explained to you, is your Vet status needs to registered, it takes 30 seconds at any customer service terminal.The reason is to speed the check out process for the3 customer, before you had to wait for a manager to give a price based over ride. Now it is automatic.Stores are now, required to not allow at register overrides.
