I have tried to request a replacement for a fan I bought in August of 2020 that has a two year warranty. The fan simply stopped working. I have been told there is nothing they can do, sorry. Completely unacceptable.

The only exception at your Dedham,MA store is Michelle Salavarria.Without her being transferred from your Quincy,MA store to Dedham,MA. She helped me order blinds, very helpful. They have been delivered to my house and need to be installed. I have called the Dedham store over 18 times since Friday..getting disconnected. Without Michelle, I would NEVER be a lowes customer. My project number is 64318****, I need these blinds installed. Unfortunetly she is on days off.

Took forever, grossly overcharged

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
1. I applied for the $100 discount promo. My bad, I forgot I'd frozen my credit report, so it got rejected. Customer Service told me to unfreeze and reapply. Wrong, wrong, wrong, now I had two applications overlapping and both of them not available. A week, two hours of calls and three trips to the store later, this was finally resolved. 2. Salesperson put payment in wrong and instead of $100 I got a useless 6 months of free credit I didn't want. I had to wait until the order was processed and received, another ten days, before they could resolve that. I was contacted when they were able to fix the issue, which I appreciate, but it seemed pretty clear the offer was designed to screw up to begin with. 3. I measure my room, ONE LITTLE RECTANGULAR ROOM, it's slightly less than 12' * 14' - 168 square feet. The fact that the room is less than 12' is great, right? Wrong. Carpet measurer mansplains that there must be overage, so I have to run it long-ways and pay for the extra. 4. Installers show up, five weeks after I began this process. Loud and no masks. Now carpet installer mansplains that he's going to run the carpet the other (the way I originally anticipated and budgeted for) because "it's easier for him", except hello, I wind up with overage of 91 square feet of carpet. I only needed 168 square feet, this total was 350 feet. Because the installer didn't want to put a seam in the closet the leftover isn't even a usable rectangle. Not to mention I didn't receive the padding to go under this remnant, which I also paid for. 5. Last but not least, there's a lump in the closet and a weird crackly spot in front of it. SO in addition to all the "simplifying" they apparently cut corners and left something under the installation.

Extremely Upset!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On 7/24/2020 I entered into an agreement with a Lowes sales agent (Timothy Kiphorn) to have Lowes Home Improvement install a deck at the rear of my Condo located at 4826 Sheffield Ct. Harrisburg, PA 17112. The installation was supposed to begin on October 2, 2020. I paid $3000 in a casher check and opened a $7000 line of credit to complete the $10,000 price for installing this deck. I was assured by Mr. Kiphorn that the project would start on October 2nd, and be completed by 10/16/2020 after he called the deck builders in front of me to solidify the start and end date. Within about a week of finalizing this agreement, I received a call from a Lowes customer service agent (Desirae Cal) informing me that she would be my Lowes contact throughout the installation of my new deck. October 2nd, 2020 has come and gone, Ive had several phone contacts with both Mr. Kiphorn and Ms. Cal informing me that there has been a shortage of lumber preventing the installation of my deck and that there would be no lumber until November 13th, 2020. This is not what I agreed to, but if I cancel this order, I fear losing a percentage of my out of pocket monies not to mention the debacle Id be left in with Lowes credit. Had Mr. Kiphorn been honest upfront about Lowes installation status, I wouldnt be in this situation; I could have gone to a different company (like Stumps Deck builders) and had my deck completed in seventy-two hours. I am extremely upset!!!

My story is identical you yours. Got in contract the beginning of July.

I was told a lumber shortage, even though I had received a phone call a month prior stating that my lumber was in warehouse. Since then, I have heard other reasonings including getting bumped out of the way for 2 small projects.

Curious how things are going with you now? Did your deck get built?

Purchased carpet at Westminster MD on 9/25/20. Mailed in rebate $150 rebate immediately. Recd email that receipt insufficient. Have called numerous times and was either cuoff off or was told there is nothing else they can explain. Receipt clearly shows carpet purchase over $2000 during rebate period is sufficient. Extended Protection Plan is a fraud

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In November of 2018, I purchased a new water heater from Lowes and went through them for installation. Between the new water heater, parts, labor and the extended protection plan, I paid $1300. Well lo and behold this October the "new" water heater failed. I spent 6+ hours on the phone with Lowes trying to get a claim started. The plumber I hired was able to get me a new water heater free of charge due to it still being under warranty. However, after my conversation with Lowes on the phone, I was told that Lowes would reimburse for labor, but I had to pay for it, and get reimbursed later. The labor ended up being $1000. I submitted the documentation they wanted, and then got a follow-up email saying that it wasn't proper documentation, but they would "reconsider my case" if I provided an updated invoice. I did this and got notification today that Lowes was only reimbursing me $317 worth of labor instead of the $1000. Now I'm wondering why I even bought the extended protection plan. There is NO reason the water heater should have failed in less than 2 years. I am to the point where I am going to boycott Lowes. Also a small note, Lowes does not carry the water heater that failed anymore due to it having so many issues (failures within years, sometimes months after install)

Blame it on the Manufacture when it's an Install issue is typical of Lowes shifting of Responsibility. Unfortunately Lowes plays the Game and knows they can out last you and has stacked the deck with a Contract that requires Arbriation that doesn't allow you to recoup Legal Expense.

Roger w Bxa

typical reaction of Lowes, pass the Buck, Lowes sold the product are your Buyers clue less? Retetorical Question.

have a feeling your loss wasn't $16, went thus same with Lowes with Hardie factory painted siding, sloppy workman ship, almost 25% of material wasn't ordered, they painted! caulking was colored match, dark brown, it was tooled, so no color warranty, smeared caulking on to vinyl window frames, thus they have to be painted.

Big mistake in accepting 2 years interest free financing, they walked off the job and had to take to arbitration, which you can't collect legal fee's even if you win.

Left with small claims court which was allowed an Attorney to represent Lowes, let's just say not consumer friendly, Lowes knows how to play the Game. Estimate my cost to fix will be close to $20,000.

My siding installed 2.5 years ago & no end of problems…hole in J channel developed last fall. Contractor asking $1,000 to fix!

I paid $ 12,500 in full when job completed. I feel he should fix for $ 0

Rather than posting on complaint sites multiple times you might want to actually do something about your problem. Yes, in most cases products have a warranty covered by the manufacturer.

Contact the manufacturer and file a claim. They will have a representative take a look at the problem.

If it is a problem with the product they will do what the warranty calls for (get your warranty out and read it). If they determine the siding was installed improperly yo will need to go through binding arbitration with Lowes.

Roger w Bxa

binding arbitration at Lowes requires an Attorney and even if you win you can't collect legal cost. I had same issue in Oregon recently and would guess this is same in all States.

You can try Small Claims as I did and Lowes had their Attorney. They have the Deck Stacked!

Roger w Bxa

Clue Less, the Product was fine, the fault was with the Installation and the Screw up Ordering, 25% off on the Siding that was Factory Painted, took 5 weeks to Get. This is typical of Lowes Employees trying to DEFLECT RESPONSIBLITY!

Next morning called store (they didn't call me). From your comments seemed that store was to call me. Women quickly told me my delivery would happen within the next 4 hours. I should not have to call store several times and should not have been the one to call delivery service.

Damaged and wrong items

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My husband and I purchased kitchen cabinets for a home in August. Last week they were delivered and one item is completely broken and the other item is completely wrong.

I have made numerous attempts to contact corporate in the local store and no one has been able to provide a resolution.

What Im being told is I will have to wait six more weeks for my cabinets. My kitchen cannot be installed without my cabinets being installed first.

I have had to cancel family gathering due to this inconvenience. Lowes is the worst they do not care about customers especially around the holidays in in the mist of a pandemic

We had our new home kitchen design done by a paid professional and took it to Lowe's. We selected a cabinet line and were given a quote and told that was the sale price which seemed reasonable but no install price.

The install price was eventually given several days before the sale ended and it was "through the roof". The salesperson would not show us the install quote but said "the computer program" calculates all of that. She read off some of the items: removal & disposal of old cabinets (remember this is a new home that she was well aware of); Dumpster to haul away packaging & scrap (new construction, dumpster on site she never asked). They took hundreds off for those items.

Since scheduling was getting critical & the sale ended in a few days we purchased as we had no time to start over with another company. After the install was complete the installer said he would not put the pre-finished bead board on the hood although we were told that was part of the install. They said they would talk to the installer, then they would find another installer, then they would refund the labor and we would have to find someone. Really!!!

Then they said they didn't charge us. There was also a very significant amount of trim materials left at the end of the install. They said they would take it back and refund me but wait to see how much bead board I need for the hood. I was always very calm and reasonable with them but then she stopped talking with me so I went to the store manager who sent her assistant manager then I called corporate & round and round util someone said after a year we don't refund.

NOW GET THIS: CUSTOMERS USUALLY LOOK AT THE CABINET COUNT & PRICE. TRIM ESTIMATES ARE FOR THE PRO'S & GIVEN LESS ATTENTION. MY EXCESS TRIM SOME OVER DOUBLE WHAT WAS REQUIRED CAME TO $2,275.00 PER THEIR ITEMIZED QUOTE + INSTALL.

IMAGINE IF THEY DO THIS TO MOST CUSTOMERS AT EACH OF THEIR THOUSANDS OF STORES. BEWARE !

Guest

I hat to tell you this but the cabinets are not sitting on a shelf in the. back of the store.

The reason it took so long to get the original order is that the cabinets have to be ordered from the manufacturer and are built to your order which takes time. The same thing has to be done to get the replacements.

They can't wave a magic wand and make them appear. This is a good reason to use a local cabinet shop where problems can be solved much more quickly.
