Lowes sold us a samsung washing machine knowing that they were being recalled and then would not honor their promise to pay half for our replacement washer after samsung paid their portion. They had a very rude person call me who was not familiar with the deal the previous employee made on behalf of lowes and refused to honor it. I will never buy from lowes and I will tell every one I come in contact with to stay away from lowes their customer service is horrible from a company who put my family in danger by selling exploding washing machines!

Details
Have gone to a new Lowes Store in Wildwood The Villages. Very unprofessional employees. Groups of young folks hanging around talking and on their phones. None of them pay attention to you. If they can't even make eye contact how can they ask if you need assistance. Then there were a couple of older guys down my tools that were yucking it up, so was probably not work related. Could NOT get anyone to help me. This was during the week of the soft opening, but really, to be ignored. God forbid I need assistance. Yes, I am a senior and if I had shown that type of "dedication" in my first jobs I would have been out the door. Going to drive a little further to the Lowes on the old side of town or more than likely, Home Depot.

You are shopping in a big box store, not a full service lumberyard or hardware store. They aren't going to ask you if you need help, you need to ask them for help if you need it.

You also stated it was during their soft opening which means that you are looking at a bunch of new hires that probably know less about what you are looking for than you do. If you are looking for great service stay out of the big box stores and keep to the local hardware stores and lumberyards.

Lowes review: Be prepared to pay up front

Had Lowes measure for carpet in a house that already has the old carpet and padding removed and hauled off. Additionally, there's not even a lamp to unplug because we have already moved everything out. The Basic installation for FREE includes moving furniture, removing/hauling off old carpet/pad, installation, including stairs. When we got our quote it had add on for carpet adhesive and additional labor for installation of carpet into "cove" of the sunken living room. I asked why it is any different than stairs and since there was no labor required for moving furniture or materials removal/haul off, why the extra $275 fee for cove install? The answer was "there just is". Also, you must pay full amount up front. We purchased carpet from a carpet store for a different home 16 months ago and we only had to put down 10%. We paid the rest to the carpet installer when we satisfied with the job. We've been burned too many times in our dumber years paying up front for work not completed...not doing it again!

When dealing with carpet there are 2 different labor categories, standard ( Tack and pad) and glued. The promotion you referring to offers free "standard" installation.

What's not covered is consumables i.e. glue all contractors charge for consumables... I haven't seen the cove but it sounds like this area is either a pita to install or you are referring to carpet base mouldings. Carpet base is not standard wastes a ton of material requires skilled specialty labor and a lot of it...

if it's a pita it's an above standard labor charge because of the additional skill and time needed. So a standard install is dropping a new carpet on a basically level surface using padding and tack strips. Paying upfront. Paying %10 upfront is a good faith deposit for lack of a better way to say it.

Depending on the fine print either you or the installer can back out anytime. Leaving little to no debt to either party. For example half the job is done . Half the money is paid but the contractor walks because he doesn't like you...

everyone's even . Fair deal Lowes sells contracts and acts as a middle man. Backing out is not really an option for either party. It is very important to take your time before buying the contract and understanding fully what is included.

If you expect mill work but it's not in the contract.. it won't get done. It looks like there was a failure to fully explain the process and fine print on the part of the sales rep. This is a huge problem for lowes sales reps will...

and have promised customers unreasonable and at times impossible things, the reason for this is that their performance incentive is based not only on actual sales but also on assessments and quotes.

But they fail to explain the details and help educate their customer and attempt to push that off on laborers hired to complete the install. I hope this has been helpful.

Lowes review: Ordered something drove 1/2 hour to get

Today I ordered a spiral Christmas tree online to be picked up at Bloomfield, CT Lowes. I clocked out of work and drove 1/2 hour to pick it up only for them to tell me they did not have it. After coming back to the office I tried to order it again and YES it would let me. When I asked at the desk how this could happen she told me it does sometimes. What kind of an answer is that??? I AM SO ANGRY and proceeded to contact the Customer Service Department, who called the store it even indicated online where the item was located. I do not understand how this could happen. Every time I've placed an order online for store pickup, I either get an email saying the order is ready OR the store will call me to say they do not have the item in stock at that location.Don't rely on what the inventory says is available as it is not "real time inventory" so is rarely if ever correct. The only way to be sure items are available is to see them with your own eyes.

Lowes review in San Antonio, Texas: Bad experience!!!

I bought a lot of appliances from Lowe's like a Riding Lawn mower, stainless steel stove and refrigerator, top load washer and a weedeater, bought like 3 years warranty on all and when I have an issue with my stuff and call to report something wrong they can't find me in the system or they can't find my warranty, I'm having so much issues with my washer machine it got me sick. I paid CASH for everything almost $5000 and now I can't get no relief for one the receipt wore out to fast and I feel if I spent all my money there and I was suppose to be in your system why???? when I come or call in no one can find me. I'm hurt about all the business I did with you all and I can't get no satisfaction!

Lowes review: Pathetic Customer Service - Rude, Messed up Delivery Dates

I ordered one refrigerator and washer/dryer and online it showed you will get your order in 7 days. I keep waiting and then they changed the date to 15 days then 1 month then 2 months. Customer Service is so rude and pathetic. I ordered the items in Thanksgiving time and now can't get the same pricing also. Never order Lowes from online because looks like online is disconnected from the physical store and nobody knows what to do for online orders. Whenever I call they just say waiting for Vendor and not even able to give me estimated delivery date.

You do know that Lowes doesn't manufacture the refrigerator don't you? It's the manufacturer that is backordering it.

If it's backordered Lowes has no real way of knowing when it will arrive. Most manufacturers deliver once a week from their warehouses. The only way the stores know there is a backorder is when the truck shows up with a packing list showing the backorder. Manufacturers aren't very good at communicating when the appliance will actually be delivered.

LG for example has a warehouse in Texas. If they run out of an appliance it has to come on a boat from Korea. Stock may be coming into the warehouse at any time but if it has to be manufactured you have the manufacturing time plus 3 weeks on the boat and another week to get from the warehouse to the store.

If the store really pushes and finds a customer service rep at the manufacturer who is willing to actually track the order they may get an answer in 3 or 4 days. The moral of all this is if you need an appliance right now don't buy anything that isn't in stock at the store or their own warehouse.

Lowes review: How hard is it to buy a dryer???

So complicated.....where to begin?!? Purchased a dryer through Lowe's online several days ago. They call me the next day saying, for whatever reason, the order wasn't able to go through. So they cancel it out & I reorder it on the phone. I get the dryer delivered after several ridiculous & confusing phone calls back & forth with Lowe's. They made so many mistakes with my order, that I decided I better check my credit card statement. The purchase price was supposed to be $350.80. They charged to my credit card $420.10! Of course when I call them, yet again, they're closed! So I have to call tomorrow for yet another ridiculous & confusing phone call to try & get this straightened out! I am so done with Lowe's!!!! This has been the most frustrating transaction I have ever had!!! They really need to get their act together!! None of them knows what they're doing, & none of them care!!! Their sale prices aren't worth the aggravation!!! This has been a nightmare!!!

Hopefully you called the credit card customer service department to dispute the charge, if nothing else it helps to get the merchants attention.

Lowes review: Order backordered and canceled

I placed an order on dec 29. it was supposed to be delivered on jan 5. it didn't happen. We called the customer service and also went to the store. We were told from both that the order was backordered and will be here on jan 13. and was told that will get a call the night before. and again We didn't get it. I called customer service and the stores. different stories were told. one said order was not placed correctly and it has to be canceled. well when We went to the store on jan 5, the order was clearly in the system. the other one said the order was backordered again and it will be delivered on jan 22. obviously they lied to the customers. it was very frustrating . will never order it from lowes.

You don't say what it was you ordered. In the case of appliances, the manufactures ship in a truck once a week.

If they are out of stock on an appliance scheduled for shipment the only notice a store gets is when the truck shows up with a packing list marked backordered. When the store calls the manufacturer for a new due date they will typically be told it will be on next weeks truck. The only way to know if this is true or not is to see if it shows up or is marked backordered again.

It's more frustrating for the store than the customer because they are in between a rock and a hard place. They look bad to the customer because they were giving due dates based on what they were told by the manufacturer.

New window installation from Lowes in Mesa AZ

Had new windows installed on 3/2017. Installers were here and did a good job. They pointed out 1 window was scratched and one screen torn. They said they would tell Lowes about it. 2 weeks later and they said they knew about it and that the screen would be replaced during the summer, while we were back in MN. And the window would be waiting for us when we return. Got back to AZ the 1st part of Nov, 2017. No new screen. Called the same # and they knew nothing about my situation. Went to Lowes Wi dow dept, they were going to contact Kevin, the salesman who sold the windows. Went there 2 weeks later and they said they would contact him, although nothing was in their records. Another week went by went there again. Now I am told they don"t work with the window salesman and give me his cell phone# called twice and left 2 messages, you guessed it, no return calls. We went to complaint dept, they assured me it will be taken care of. Finally got a call back, they said they will come out and take a look, but they didn't know about the screen. Told me they would be out on Jan. 15, 2018 between 1 and 5 pm. No onw showed up, nobody called.
