Harassed at Potsdam, NY Location by Employee with a Customer Service Vest

Lowes has Lost a Customer:

I made a sizable purchase at the Potsdam, NY location over the weekend. I believe it was over $1K.

However, this will be the last time I give any of my hard earned money to Lowes.

In the future, I will stick to mom & pop style hardware stores.

What Happened:

When I was checking out, even though I was first in line, several employees allowed other customers to skip me in line.

Furthermore, when I was finally served, an employee wearing a Customer Service vest repeatedly asked intrusive questions about what I was planning to do with the items that I was purchasing.

I drive a Toyota Corolla, so loading large items is a challenge.

This employee did not offer to help me load my vehicle, but instead got on a riding mower and repeatedly drove up and down around my car until I was finally able to get everything loaded.

The atmosphere was oppressive and not welcoming in any sense of the word. I consider this to be harassment.

On top of this, after I left Lowes, I was pulled over by both local & state police not ONCE, not TWICE, but THREE times!

My Next Steps:

I am a law abiding citizen that values my privacy.

I generally avoid lawyers, but in this case I may seek legal restitution for both harassment by a Lowes employee and damage to reputation as I was with clients two of the times I was pulled over.

No cashiers you shop you check yourself out when ask for military discount the one and only employee tells you after you are about to pay o you have to come to this kiosk but when you are shopping you see about 3 or 4 employees shooting the breeze no help if anyone needs a job go to Lowes get paid to do nothing Home Depot is about the crap go to Menards at least they have people who work and help you so far someone in corporate dont know to much about working

Hey Boomer, Menards doesn’t offer a military discount. BTW don’t worry about anyone standing around.

They are off the clock waiting to punch in. You are the type of worthless person retailers don’t care about. Move on lo ser. No one cares about you.

The only place you'll get help in a Menards store is at the cash register as they don't trust customers to use a self service register. I'll bet you don't get military discounts at Menards.

Giagni Faucets wont answer their telephone and says they are not open when they are. Recording asks to go to website and send info to them in email. Even then, they dont answer email! Therefore, both Lowes and Giagni Faucets are to blame. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!

Warranty is an offshore fraud. False or no comunacation,

Called corporate for lost purchase receipt to locate warranty plan number prior to repair of shorted out dishwasher. They could not find record of purchase only 10 months old.

Had to have working DW so scheduled and paid for repairs out of pocket.

Three weeks later Assurant protection plan sent a solicitation for renewal and I called them to find my account number and file a claim for reimbursement. Email back to me gave instructions with the statement they could not find local service provider and to have work done and send service repair statement for reimbursement.

Lowes warranty dashboard showed repairs approved but no follow up email conformation sent. Called warranty toll free number 30 days later to find out where payment was sent and was told claim was not covered because work was not arrange by Assurant.

Poor, misleading, and untimely communication by this offshore provider, DECLINE this plan and use manufacture's extended Warranty!

The way I was disrespected at your store

Too many bad experiences with customers service. Disrespectful so many time and nothing. Thinking about contacting an attorney and sue. This time I know you will hear me. Because I am on my phone retrieving a picture of an advertisement to show customers service they served the person behind me. I was in line for 45 minutes. The guy behind me was inline for less than 5 minutes. Then I was told I was on my phone. And had to show why I was on my phone. The manager couldnt even say sorry

2 products online descriptions match exactly but prices differ!

First, I waited on hold for customer service for 90 mins today(7/3). There are two makeup vanities that have exact same description but prices are different. If I can pay $179 and not $199 Ill do it. All I wanted was to know when my new refrigerator was coming. I was told I would get a 4 hour heads up and the time was running out for me to be awake to accept the delivery. Got no help, hate the message while on hold, a rep. was never able to contact me momentarily. Change the stupid message, put on news.

Went to Lowe's yesterday to pick up wood or a fence I'm putting for my mom ... We loaded 124 fence boards, 12 2x4s, 12 4x4s, 6 bags of 60 lb concrete .. I told my mom I'll load em and 4 employees watched the whole time I was even climbing the shelves to get the high stacked ones at the end and not once did they offer a hand ... Good thing I'm strong ... 4 employees ... Pathetic ... One watched and smiled the whole time ... What a waste of money they r paying them ... Pay me 30 an hour and I could do all four of their jobs myself

The employees aren’t making $30/hour. And it was you that chose a big box store.

The employees are not there to help you load. It is self service.

It’s pretty sad you had no one to take to help you. And btw, who was going to unload this once you were home?

Most people would rather select the lumber they get rather than having someone load what's on top of the pile. Keep in mind that you were shopping in a big box store, not a full service lumberyard.

I had a similar problem. I ordered a custom stove they told me six months well 3 months into this they called and said my order was canceled and hung up so I had to modify my counter to fit a floor model had to wait two weeks drive 85 miles to pick it up when I finally got a chance to install the stove when I removed it from the packaging it was crushed in the back they said its in the back no one will see it but still I paid 1600 hundred for this you think Lowes would but they dont Myself Lowes customer service made me a Home Depot customer

Looks quite minor and in an area no one will see. The carton obviously wasn't damaged or you would have refused it.

Who knows, it may have happened while you were unloading it from your vehicle. In any case it won't affect the function or appearance once it's installed, nothing to make a big deal out of.

The associate that did my refund told me that the money would be added back to my debit card immediately. I paid for the items when I purchased them, and I expect for my money to be returned to my debit care when refunded. I will Shop at Home Depot from now on.

Poor service

We bought a gas grill on 5/24/23, paid for it, and requested assembly. They stated that it could not be assembled for a week.

Pick up 6/01/23. We called the store and they could not find it. We called 4 times and on the 4th time finally got someone who figured out that it hadnt been done. The person checking us out had forgotten to enter it in the system.

Now, it will be another week before it will be ready. Ridiculous! Very, very poor service. I told them to forget it and I would pick it up and do it myself.

Customer service at this store is a joke. They have some great employees but *** poor management and training.

I made an online order it took over 2 weeks to be available for pick up at my local store. I picked up the order and 1 set of three cushions were not there when I got home.

I attempted to contact the local store and see if they missed a box. They could not find an additional box. They told me they would look in the back and call me back. They did not.

I called lowes customer service and after long hold times and being disconnected, I spoke with cs rep who placed me on hold several times.

And ultimately told me to call the local store the same rabbit hole I had already been down.

Terrible service they should have resolved this problem and sent me the missing portion of my order!!! WTF
