Lowes in Lowes, Kentucky - Installer Point of View

We are installers for 6 Lowe's Stores. Simple and to the Point. You want to get a full refund on a fence built by Lowe's-Complain to the installed sales office. Problem with that is 90% of the time it is not the Installers fault. It is because once you buy that fence, the installed sales office contacts an outside Sub-contractor to do the install. Lowe's provides the building materials but barely provides the poor installer with the basics of the build. Then when something is not right-they point the finger at the installer-installer erro. They then give you your refund and bill the installer for the refund. Lowe's does not lose a dime. Everything-not matter what is placed on Installer Error and the installer is the one paying you for the refund that you get for Lowe's. As installers that are Honorable, we what consumers to know how Lowe's operates business when it comes to installed sales services provided by Lowe's. Lowe's is not doing the install-subcontractors are and in the end Lowe's does not pay for the refund the installers do.

I prepaid for fencing materials that was $300. I was told somebody would assist in dropping the product and after an hour and multiple times standing in line to get somebody to come nobody would assist. Finally went to customer service and got my money back and I will be going to Home Depot from now on for everything.

Lowes - You're a waling dollar $ sign

Take your business elsewhere and pay more if you have to so you will not end up dealing with the nightmare Lowe's will put you through AFTER they get your money. I am now watchful of any company that has a long contract about not being sued and going to arbitration. If a company has to do that and wants you to sign it AFTER they get your money...they don't care about you and customer service. It's ALL ABOUT THEM. If you want doors, find a door company. If you want flooring, go to a flooring company. A one stop shop is nice until they *** over!

Lowes - Roof purchased in 2015 the roof STILL LEAKS!!!

Lowe's has given me the run around since 2015. Paid for new flashing, was told there was new flashing installed for almost a year. Then the installer tells the regional director of installations that; "The step flashing up the sides of the lower roof were cleaned off and reused, just as we always do". Now Lowe's insurance company wants to pay $1100 to reinstall flashing which will void the manufacturer warranty. Repeated calls, emails and follow ups with Lowe's insurance company go unanswered, its appears ignored. I have been given the runaround for two years, the roof still leaks, They can not get a report from another roofer that Lowe's has sent out stating in order to properly correct the mistakes you would need a NEW ROOF installed.

Lowe's Has Damaged my roof, cracked my front walk, covered my car in stones, and caused water damage in my home from roof leaks and has even failed city inspections and I currently have an open permit on my home. I signed my first contract with them on august 2, 2017 it is now march 21st 2018.

I paid Lowes in full and there subcontractor placed a lien on my home because lowe's did not pay them because of there failure to install the roof in a good workmanlike manner. The subcontractor exaggerated the lien a committed a 3rd degree felony. (And all of that just scratches the surface).

I have been on News Channel 9 wftv/ abc. (https://www.wftv.com/news/action-9/action-9-investigates-home-improvement-chain-contractor-complaints/695471946) This company is hurting hundreds if not thousands of people they need to be stopped and held accountable

Its a shame that you have to be put through this, i always thought Lowes was a reputable company and would stand behind their services. I guess not.

Lowes - Frequent Standups/PTO wasted

I recently purchased a home and the previous owner had a contract with Lowes on Good Middling Dr in Fayetteville, NC to replace all the windows prior to closing. On the day of closing the windows still weren't installed due to the windows being on back order for two weeks, so the mortgage company almost canceled my approval due to this. Well, after the previous owner showed proof of the contract, the mortgage company decided to let me close on the house. This was March 31, 2017. Periodically throughout April, the salesperson at Lowes kept calling me to see if I had heard from the installer, said that the windows were back. I told her no and that she's the only one who had been calling me. Finally on May 1, 2017 the installer called and asked what day would be good for me. I requested a Saturday since I'd already used a lot of my paid time off to move. He said he had to get up a crew and that he would call me by the following day to let me know if they could do the install the Saturday of that same week. Never heard from him. I called the salesperson back and told her what happened. She said they were having problems getting a crew for a Saturday because that's not their normal workday (which he could have told me that instead of just not calling back at all). I said ok forget the Saturday, I'm willing to *** any day that's good for them. Oh so then he decided to call and scheduled to do the installation today, May 15, 2017 around 9am. He just called me at 8:37am just to let me know that once again they're not coming and rescheduled it for tomorrow, said the lead person in his crew called in sick. Luckily I'm off today due to having a stomach virus because if not he would've cost me a vacation day for nothing. And if I don't find anyone to stay here tomorrow he still may cost me a vacation day when it should've been done today while I was home sick ( my original house sitter has a virus also). So we'll see if they finally show up tomorrow but I have a feeling I'll be wasting a vacation day if I'm not still sick. These people don't seem to care that you lose paid time off when they keep rescheduling like this or that I cannot schedule to get my house secured until they install these windows. They're lucky that the previous owner has the contract and not me because I would've canceled it by now and went straight to Home Depot!

Update: The contractor showed up on May 16, 2017 to replace the windows and out of 15 windows only 7 of them were the correct size, so 8 had to be reordered and told me it will be a month before they return. On a positive note, they did do a favor for me while they were here and turned my patio blinds around for me because they were originally sliding in the opposite direction that the door slide.

The guys were actually a friendly group of guys. They are schedule to return on June 19 to replace the remaining 8 windows so I will do a final update following that day.

Take a look at Home Depots complaints for installers. Too many people go about having product installed the wrong way.

When you buy from a big box store they sell you the product and subcontract an installer to install the product. You never know who you will end up with. You are better off finding a contractor to install your product and working with them to purchase the product.

That way you know exactly who will be installing your product and will have direct contact with them for installation. You will also pay less because the big box store is not marking up the installation cost they subcontracted out.

If you are dumb enough to sit in the check out line for a hour wile others move around you and pay for their products you only have yourself to blame. Most people would be on their feet moving with the line or to another register (even if it means taking the product to a check out inside the store) if the garden center lines weren't moving. My guess is that you were really only in line for 5 to 10 minutes but an hour sounds like more to complain about.

Received an item that was missing half of it in the Box. Called 3 times to corporate who I was told had to handle it. Said 3 times someone would get back to me and nobody did. Call again and get a supervisor who was completely useless as well. Told me to deal with my local store who doesnt stock the item. Lowes is one of the worst with customer service possible. Had no cares at all about the issue at hand. Will not shop them again, better off at Home Depot or any other local store than dealing with Lowes and their lack of help

Lowes - Delivering a washer and dryer combination

We ordered a washer and dryer from Lowe's Home improvement store on Christopher Columbus boulevard in Philadelphia, Pa. on a Saturday with delivery scheduled for one week which have been the following Saturday. Unfortunately, Lowe's hired the incompetent people of XPO logistics to deliver the washer and dryer. The delivery people did not know how to use GPS well enough to find a townhouse only 3.6 miles from Lowe's store. So of course, we contacted the marketing manager at XPO Logistics who agreed to give us next day delivery, a Sunday delivery which happened to be Mother's Day no less but we needed the washer and dryer so we were fine with it! The incompetent store manager at Lowe's decides to unilaterally cancel our delivery for Sunday even though we agreed to the Sunday delivery and the delivery people called and confirmed the delivery. I would never shop at Lowe's Home improvement and I would not hire XPO logistics to deliver any items of any kind. Lowe's Home Improvement and XPO logistics are both so terribly incompetent and mismanaged that they can not deliver a washer and dryer! Apparently, upper management of both these companies are not focused on customer service. Customer service training is needed for all levels of Lowe's Home Improvement and XPO Logistics staff.

Hubby just returned from Lowes and Conrad the manager that walked away was waiting for him at the door. Jerry came home with 2 new shelves and the water filter.....Hopefully the 5 day ordeal is done.

Well as expected GJ Transport Solutions a independent delivery service arrived early but we were ready. They had the old one out of the house and new one installed in less than 30 minutes.

Thanks Jesus. But as soon as we started looking the water filter was missing and one of the door units was broken...OH MY GOD...so off to Lowes again to talk to Dwayne one of the managers/sales person to get these new issues resolved.

Husband went back to the Lowes store later in the day and the delivery service told them we refused the unit because it was "used". When in fact they told us the unit was damaged.

The ground plug prong had been cut off by someone. That is why it was not installed. The store did not have the refrigerator we had purchased and could not find another in the area. They kept trying to up sale another which would cost us additional $500 plus.

We finally settle on the same style French door but the color would not be the black we wanted. Something about a dark chrome, never heard of that. Hope it works. Not going to pay one more penny at this point.

Well today is Mothers day and all plans have been cancelled due to a call saying delivery will be today between 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM.

We will have everything ready for them by 11:00 AM because we were told if it wasn't ready even if they arrive early they will not wait the 20 minutes for us to get things ready and just leave saying they will be back later maybe. Will let you know what happens.

Well what a ordeal dealing with Lowes in Pittsburg. Bought a refrigerator on Weds. We needed it right away and to bring it home when we purchased it since ours had quit working completely (compressor) Got a great deal. But that was when all the good vibes stopped. The guys that loaded it slide the back of the frig. into the back of the truck and ripped a water line on the back but we didn't discover it till we got it home and got the water hooked up and water went every where. Called Lowes and got a huge run around about how we had purchased an open box frig and that it was sold as is....really???? But your loaders are the ones that damaged it in the first place and the appliance didn't say AS IS and no one mentioned AS IS. The manager James we were talking to they don't have to inform us of that it's on the receipt. So I grab the receipt and guess what "there was no where on the receipt that said AS IS. Then he changed his tune. He said he'd go check and see if they had another frig like it and would have it delivered the next day. Called back they did and when the delivery company arrived they told us that the power cord was damaged and they would have to return it. I thought that was strange because the manager we spoke with said he had personal inspected the frig. and had tucked the power cord up in the unit. LAIR!!!!!! Lowes tried to reach the delivery company so they could return cause they were sure there was nothing wrong with the power cord. 4 hrs later they said they had not been able to contact them, so they would talk to them at 7:00am when they came to get today's deliveries. So Jerry goes down to Lowes this morning at 6:30am so he can be there when the frig. arrives and find out what happened. What is the next step will be. After several conversations with numerous rude Managers. Eugene, James and another one with no name tag. The truck at that point was over 3 hrs late. They were high pressuring Jerry to except another frig. of a different manufacturer that did not fit what we needed. Tried to sell him another refrig. at additional cost to us. One for those *** managers actually walked away when Jerry asked for a game plan if the refrig. on the truck was actually damaged (which at 10:00 was determined that the power cord had been cut and couldn't be delivered ) the manager just turned and walked away without answering him. By this time it was best for Jerry to leave or someone might get hurt, he was beyond pissed. So here we sit. Saturday morning with a defective frig. and hoping this will get resolved tomorrow because they said even if they could find a replacement frig. it could not be delivered till tomorrow. Don't want to impact delivery's scheduled for today . So.....will see what happens tomorrow. Have to cancel all plans we had for Mother's Day so we can be here for delivery since they will only give a 4 hr window for when they might get here. to be continued........

Why the intense need to buy a fridge from Lowe's after all the trouble they gave you? You should have just cancelled the purchase and gone elsewhere. That Lowe's location obviously doesn't care much about customer service.

The store has no problems accepting payment, but if you were to lose your receipt then you have lost your money. I have been sent to the store to attempt to return. I have communicated with corporate office for over 1 month and there is no way to return the merchandise.

No stores are required to accept any returns. Without a receipt you have now way of proving where you purchased the product, if you paid for it at all.

The reason you don't have a receipt could be that you stole the merchandise. Many stores refuse the return or high theft merchandise without a receipt and will offer only store credit for the lowest sale price on products they will take back.

Grow up and bring your receipt with you when you make a return. Don't blame stores for your inability to keep track of your receipts.
