Lowes - Flooring nightmare

I should have listened to these reviews as my experience was a complete nightmare with lowes flooring. The main problem was that they sub contracted it out and that contractor subbed it out to another who was a complete ***. Even I could have laid flooring better and he brought along others including his girlfriend to not only lay the floor but she cut the wood planks and cut some wrong at MY cost. People that came into our home via the sub contracted sub were not covered by Lowes liability if they are not "employees" of the contractor. Thank goodness no one got hurt or it would have been on us the home owner. From day one the sub contractor was clearly a *** and the end result was a floor of expensive wood laid incorrectly. It took us three months going back and forth with Lowes to get it fixed. On top of that the sub contractor was taking the leftover wood and supplies(cement etc..) home with him. When I realized I said hold on.. I paid for that wood.. please put in the garage. But in prior days he took many boards and we did not realize it. What scammers..they probably laid a small floor in their own house with my products that I paid for. I could go on and on so that being said.. listen to others and use a local small flooring company with actual employees who are insured and experienced in laying floors. Good luck!

I learned decades ago to never buy and have installed any kind of flooring from a big box retailer and to find a local store that has a select few installers do all their work. They will usually stand behind any problems you have with the quality and/or installation of the product.

Lowes in Clinton, Maryland - Customer Service Poor

Approximately three months ago I purchased and had installed three storm doors. I paid cash, up front. The doors were installed, however, on two of the doors measurements were off. First, the front door the rubber on bottom was to short. Second, the basement storm door the top strip across top was to short. I was told this would be taken care of. Weeks passed, I heard nothing from Lowe's, when I called they did not no what I was talking about. I explained and was told it would be taken care of. The something happened again. I was told the parts were not in the third time, around the last time I called, I was given a date and I asked did I have to be home because, all they would have to do is just open the doors and place parts. It was agreed on. On yesterday the contractors came out and only installed the rubber strip for front door but it was not placed correctly, insects can still enter. When I called about what happen to the top strip for basement door. I was told it had to be ordered. I thank this is very bad business, also, I'm being told that I would have to be home *** another day from work for this negligence . Lowes - Degrading HR bad co to work for from the beginning

The woman in human resorces hired my husband,he told her he wanted part time and no sundays she put hin on a half hour short of full time and saturdays during day hours when he was hired second shift ,told him shes leaving sundays open incade they have to work him! No! We go to church and thats how we spend our sunday!she changed the department he was hired for before he even began the job! Yea right Hey lowes when people apply for a job at other companies and getbhired thats what they get ,the job they applied for!! Whats your problem ?!!! People dont apply to be at the beck and call only of lowes! They do have a real life that matters!! And they dont pay with pay checks only put your money on a card and the only way you can find out about what your pay stub would look like is to go on line you have to make a copy yourself because they dont give you anything! Looking forward to my husbands last and final day cant wait and he only went to orientation yesterday! You can keep your 10%employee discount too!

Sounds like your family doesn't need the income. As far as Sundays, I think by law they have to accommodate his religious beliefs.

Obviously a post by someone who has never experienced working in big box retail. You either work when and where they need you or they will get along just fine without you. I would advise looking for something other than retail if you don't want to work nights or weekends.

Lowes - Treated like thief

I've spent near 100k at opelousas, la. Lowes.... 30k in last 6months. Today i returned an unopened mailbox not unusable at newest home... I wasnt offered refund to my LAR or cash but was given a store card that i had to show drivers licence number to use.. cashiers were baffled when i asked customer service i was tild it was because of thievery and that i shouldnt be offended in a snotty reply. Im takibg my bussiness from this kinda treatment.

Did you leave out the fact that you didn't have a receipt? Most retail stores will only issue store credit for the lowest sale price the item had sold for.

They ask for the ID to put you in a data base of no receipt returns. When you exceed a certain number of returns without a receipt they will no longer accept returns without a receipt. Yes, this is to deter theft.

Honest people need to accept that they could refuse returns without receipts altogether and be happy they get anything at all back. The moral of the story is to bring your receipt with you when you want to return items.

I didn't leave out point that i have commercial charge account that would have product on it.. if she wouldnt have jumped to conclusion because i wasnt in work clothes.

So you would expect the store to take the tine to go through their records of your 100K worth of purchases to find a receipt you didn't want to take the time to bring with you. Your next post would be about how long it took to process the return, not to mention the people behind you that you made wait because you were too lazy to find your own receipt.

I order a set of appliances (all matching) online, got the extended warranty for them and everything was good to go. My online order showed "PROCESSING" and I was waiting for a call for confirm delivery. A week later I get a call from one of the stores stating they were out of stock but she would find me a replacement somewhere and that Lowes would "make this right" for me. She was supposed to return my call later that day but never called. I waited a couple of days to give them time to "make this right" but never heard anything back so I called and was told the order was cancelled because it was out of stock. WTF!? So she cancelled my order and did not tell me??? I was so mad I called the main Lowes customer service to complain and found out my other items were marked as DELIVERED! WTFx2!? I never got a call to confirm a scheduled delivery time and no one had been out to the house. I asked if they had a signature of where I signed for the delivery and I was told they would have to call me back. I never got a call back so the next day I called the main customer service again. This time I was told the other items were not delivered but were out of stock. ~SIGH~ You know what, just cancel EVERYTHING and give me my money back. i was told yes, we will do that but it will take 10 days to do a credit. WTFx3!? It didn't take 10 days to charge my card! I get a call back the next day from the store telling me they are having problems issuing me a credit and they need my credit card number, three digit code and zipcode. WTFx4!?!?!?!?! So I called the credit card company and have disputed the charges. There is always an issue when I do business with Lowes, ALWAYS!!! I'm going to shop at Home Depot from now on. This *** NEVER happens with them, least not to me.

Details
We went into Columbus, MS store and service from the beginning was awful. The employees were not friendly and had to search for help. They were not knowledgeable. We did purchase refrigerator, waited all afternoon for delivery and then got a call that it was damaged. We ended up cancelling order. Some upper management has dropped the ball!!!

I'm sick of seeing customers pissed off because they have to wait ten minutes for someone to load something they could easily load themselves. These type of customers are rude and lazy and I hope they pop a tire on their way home.

I went to buy paint and AS USUAL [waited about 10 minutes ] I could not find anybody to mix my paint . There was an Olympic Paint Rep. who offered to mix my paint. I get the paint and have to wait behind 7other customers in the checkout [about 15 minutes]. Arriving back home I start to paint...only to find out it was not the jet black paint I wanted but a dark gray.....so back to Lowes to return paint and get refund. Between driving back and forth twice and my time in store I wasted about 90 minutes of my time No more buying paint from Lowes for me.

Lowes in Amsterdam, New York - Rude Employee

My company usually conducts its business at the Utica NY store #0523. We have been contracted to complete several large projects in the Amsterdam area and have been utilizing store #1880 for most of our material needs. This stores customer service is by far the worst my company has ever experienced. On two (2) separate occasions, while needing assistance in the stores electrical department our company employees and I were carelessly ignored by the electrical dept. employee named "Sue" This Employee with the name "Sue" presented on her tag was aimlessly having a personal conversation with another Lowes employee. While three (3) of my Employees and I waited (While on the clock ) for assistance. the lowes electrical assistant remained engrossed in her conversation while disregarding my waiting, paid and very annoyed employees. After 20 Min of waiting, "Sue" walked past my employees and I to reset the "Special assistance needed in electrical button" and proceeded to inform us that she would be, "Right with us" returning to her very important conversation with another smiling employee. We promptly left the store leaving our items behind. our first encounter with this "Sue" On a previous occasion, while requiring assistance in the same electrical dept. we waited for someone to respond to the assistance button. After waiting a few moments, we proceeded to the Pro desk to request assistance. Low and behold, there was the Electrical dept. assistant having a personal conversation with another employee. (How do I know this conversation was personal? Because it took both of those employees several minutes to acknowledge us and we overheard their entire conversation.) We were told that she would be right there. After a 15 minute wait we approached this Sue once again, and were met with annoyance for interrupting her complaints to another employee. Your employee did follow us back to her dept but was not helpful to say the least. I assumed she was having a bad day, after all we all do sometimes, until the second encounter I realized that this employee was just a rude, ornery and unknowledgeable person. This poor service forced us to experience your competitor the Home Depot where we found the employees in their electrical dept, professional, courteous and very willing to help. I regret that after years of conducting business at lowes we will now spend our money at a more contractor friendly establishment.

Lowes - Ordered Product Not Delivered

I have been a long time customer of Lowes and have made many purchases from Lowes including appliances, and the windows and doors for my house. I am not sure I will do business with Lowes in the future. I ordered a range online and was guaranteed it would arrive at store number 0461 (Baton Rouge) on May 2, 2017. On May 3rd I went to the store to pick it up. Upon speaking with the customer service rep at the counter I was told I would have to wait a few minutes, which I considered reasonable. After an extended period of time I was told that my purchase had not arrived. When I asked when it might arrive I overheard an employee tell the customer service rep that the store manager had pushed all appliance deliveries back two weeks. I asked if Lowes would contact me when the item came in. The customer rep said I would have to speak to the manager who she would summon. After an ridiculously extended wait I finally was able to speak to an individual who's name tag indicated "Service Manager". He looked at the computer and told me "it hasn't come in yet". I told him I was aware of that and asked when could I expect it to come in. He mumbled that if they had another appliance truck come in soon it could possibly be the first part of next week. At that point it was obvious to me that at least this Lowes store and employee didn't give a hoot about me as a customer so I requested and received a refund. I will have to think long and hard about doing business with Lowe's on major items in the future.
