Lowes Rebate Run Around

I purchased 5 appliances from Lowes.com on black Friday 2016 totaling around $5000. Part of the reason I bought from Lowes was that they offered a rebate of $3-400 on the GE appliances I bought. Each appliance description stated that it was eligible for the rebate. I called Lowes to apply for my rebate on 11/28. On Jan. 13, 2017 I got a card from Lowes stating that the receipt didn't indicate 'qualifying appliances'. When I called 'customer care' they said the receipt was lacking an invoice number. So I had them email me my invoice number which I resubmitted via fax. After 2 weeks I called & they said they needed an official receipt; so I had Lowes create another receipt for me. I faxed the new receipt. After another 2 weeks I called & was told my receipt didn't include the invoice numbers. It says "invoice number" right on it. I resubmitted via fax a second time. When I called today I was told that there was no record of either fax (despite being told 2 wks. ago they DID have record of my previous faxes) & that (of course) today was the last day of the rebate. I faxed the same papers a THIRD time today. I am livid & beyond frustrated! From now on Home Depot will get my business. And I am still waiting for delivery of these appliances too. I see now why Lowes customer service rates 1 star. -10!!

I had the same situation from a Black Friday appliance order of 6 appliances, all over $396 each. The problem was that when I placed the single order online, when it was received at the store, their in-store system separated the one order into many invoices, thus invalidating the rebate eligibility.

I went throught the exact same scenario that you describe of going to the store, faxing the in-store printout of the their invoices (which should have been on one invoice), and many calls to the Rebate Center to verify everything. It took about 4 months of persistence, but the Rebate Center finally mailed the full $450 rebate. At that time, I was in a unique situation where I could afford to persist and I didn't really care how long it took, I was not going to have the appliances delivered until I received the rebate. I was determined to get the rebate.

What I would do differently if I do the Black Friday appliance order again: 1.

Do not submit online, instead mail-in the rebate form with the store printout of their invoice(s) along with my one order form printout (from my printer) showing that everything was ordered at exactly the same time in the same order.

Include a copy of the confirmation email that I receive. Highlight and circle all the important numbers on everything to make the job easier for whomever is going to look at the paperwork.

Bought Troybuilt mower. They brought it out the next day mower would not start wasen"t getting gas .Brought another one, battery died third start. Had to wait til next day to get new battery but had to call to get battery brought it took until 2:00 to get battery.this happened for 3 days. Will not use lowes any more

THE ABOVE MOWER LASTED MOST OF ONE SEASON AND WOULD NOT RE-START WHEN IT DIED WHILE CUTTING THE GRASS. UNABLE TO LOCATE ANY PROBLEM, LOWES REPLACED IT WITH A 42 INCH MOWER, MODEL # 13WV78KS011, IN SEPT OF 2015, JUST THREE MONTHS OF USE.

THE CURRENT MOWER, MODEL # 13WV78KS011, CUT THE 2016 SEASON WITH NO PROBLEMS.

NOW COMES JUNE 2017 AND THE REPLACEMENT MOWER, MODEL # 13WV78KS011 HAS DONE THE SAME THING THAT THE REPLACED MOWER, MODEL # 13CC26JD011, DID BACK IN SEPT OF 2015.

IF YOU CHECK THE RECORDS, I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH ALLTAQUIT. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH SMALL ENGINE TECH AND BEEN SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE SMALL ENGINE TECH LADY THAT I HUNG UP ON HER THIS LAST TIME. THIS MOWER WAS PURCHASED AT LOWES 0271 IN LUBBOCK WITH THEIR EPP, (EXTENDED PROTECTION PLAN) AND THAT LOWES 0271 DOES NOT HONOR THEIR PRODUCTS NOR THEIR EPP. I purchased a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher and was promised a rebate - its been so long I don't remember the specifics of what qualified but my rebate amount was $347.70. I filled out my paperwork in August 2016. I waited my 8 weeks and called. They claimed they mailed it to the wrong address and they would resubmit the paperwork. I waited another 8 weeks - still nothing. I call them back and I have been approved but they are waiting to mail the cards out ( they received to many rebates and have to wait). I wait another 8 weeks and call back and guess what I'm at the top of the list but still no ship date. I call frigidaire and they tell me Lowes is in charge of the rebates. At this point I'm pretty sure it's a scam. Today is March 9, 2017.

Lowes Sells Junk

About a 2 month ago I purchased some Valspar spray paint from Lowes and it sucked. I needed it for 2 inch by 4 foot piece of trim and it would not cover. I google Valspar sucks and I found out that nearly everything Valspar sells is junk. Today a bought a flush mount ceiling light, The brand was Portfolio and like everything these days is was made in China. The workmanship is actually good but the design was awful. Seems American engineerds have never worked with the *** the design. The fixture had too much insulation about 6" and the mounting screws were 1/4" too short. This is typical of some MIT math nerd who couldn't change a tire in his own car if his life depended on it. Don't these *** test their designs? I was covered with insulation and I breathed a lot of it in. It took hours to install it. It should have taken 5 minutes. Portfolio is a brand of Cooper Industries and Eaton www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/lighting/brands/portfolio.html The CEO of Eaton makes over 8 million a year. I needed a cart you ride on. Nobody had a key for the 3 carts sitting there. I asked for a manager nobody came. I finally had to go back out to the parking lot and found one there. Nobody offered to help me. Not getting help shouldn't surprise me you have a hard time getting anyone to help you with anything.

Lowes - Carpet Install - Epic fail

So we purchase cheap Lowes carpet to install in my mother-in-law's finished basement. 600 square feet, easy job. The installers show up and I'm there to supervise. I take a vacation day off from work. Two guys, two separate trucks. I see padding, but no carpet. Hmm. So they rip out about 2/3rds of the old carpet and move furniture to the one remaining carpet side. They come upstairs and tell me they're going to pick up the carpet. Uhhhh ok...that's a half hour round trip wasted when you should have picked it up already, but whatever. An hour goes by and they're not back...uh oh. Two hours go by and they show up. Guess what? 'Uhhhhh the store messed up and they don't have your carpet in stock. They'll give you a call.' Ok genius....you had 3 materials to pick up and you only got two. Do you tear a roof off and then realize you don't have shingles? So after turning 9 shades of ticked off for an hour and a half, I spring into action. I go over to Modern Flooring America and make arrangements with them. They show me the carpet is in stock...awesome. So I go back to Lowes and go back to the flooring area. "Welcome to Lowes can I help you'. 'Yeah you can, because I'm pissed off'. I had their attention at that point. They try the pissed off customer BS of can we give you money back, blah blah blah. I told them, I want my money back in full...because if the job is this screwed up to begin with, I hate to see what the final install looks like. They give me a full refund in cash at the service counter. Now let's review how epicly bad they skrewed up: 1. Didn't check the carpet inventory before starting the install. 2. Tore up the carpet without considering #1 above. 3. Didn't contact me to apologize. 4. Didn't contact me to make arrangements for another carpet that was in stock (while the installers were still there). 5. Absolutely no contact from the store until I walked in 4 hours later. The only saving grace is they left the pad in place. Not only did they do more damage than simply not doing nothing at all...they simply didn't care. We had another bad carpet install from Home Depot last year so I wasn't going back to them. At least the Home Depot guy had enough brain cells to bring ALL the material when he came.

Time to find a good carpet place! We have bought from a local place that has been in business for decades and never had a problem with carpet, vinyl, etc. Of course, they only use professional installers, not the fly-by-night ones the big box stores use.

Purchased carpeting for entire 2nd floor in my home. Lowes installed In August 2013. In January 2015, I noticed carpet was bunching in hallway and one bedroom. Called Lowes and they refused to fix because warranty was only good for year. After several calls and complaints, an email to their CEO and Several VPs got somone out to look at it. They restretched in 2 areas and I thought my problem was over. Well now the carpet is bunching in the three bedrooms. I called the original installer and he wont come look at it. Said He is no longer their installer. I called Lowes and they refuse to fix it. They sent a letter to my home via UPS stating they fixed it once" as a one time courtesy" and they will make no further repairs. I am on mu own and they consider the issue closed. Buyer beware! Lowes does not back their work! I wouldnt have them install a light bulb at this point! #Lowes shoddy workmanship

At least your Lowes brought the carpet with them to install. My story is they ripped out the carpet, went back to the store and it's out of stock.

I'm with you...the home improvement chains are nothing but glorified warehouses. Avoid their installation services like the plague.

Sorry, you are having issues with your carpet, it is definitely a result of not using a power stretcher when the carpet was installed. This a common complaint with both Lowes and Home Depot, but it not limited to just them.

Also, it is a lack of institutional control by the carpet manufacturers, who could requiring some carpet installation standards be met when selling and installing their products.

Also, you may not realize it, but you probably over paid for the carpet as well.

My opinion is probably not going to matter much, but it one carpet customer listens and demands a proper installation by their carpet installer, my day has been made.

Lowes has signs up saying that there in stock cabinets are 30 percent off the thing is the sign is up high to where you cant read the fine print. We was going to buy some cabinets that we need but the man from lowes said you have to read the fine print it was for just 2 kinds of in stock not all in stock. I think that is very deceiving and should never put a sign up over the ones that isnt on sale.very very disappointed.

Lowes - Contractor flooded basement

We had our kitchen remodeled by contractor from lowes.. we moved sink and dishwasher. Reposition pipes When contractor installed it he ran the water to check pressure etc. he never went into my basement (which is wide open ) to check for leaks . When I got home basement was saturated Lowes claim it was an old pipe and they are not responsible. ???? What can I do ? if the contractor just looked while he was running the water before he left this wouldn't of been an issue
