Lowes - Customer Service unresponsive / delivery charges outrageous
Lowes - Customer Service unresponsive / delivery charges outrageous
Lowe's Customer Service is horrible. I shopped online and put 3 items into my shopping cart, a total cost of $60-something. What happened next, the truck delivery charges are displayed at $10K, and sales tax as $800. I promptly emailed the CS, thought it might be a...

Lowes Deceptive Ordering and Happy Review Policy

Lowes Deceptive Ordering and Happy Review Policy
Lowes has an amazingly sweet staff designed to grab your money quick but then try to get your merchandise delivered and don't complain about our terrible service. When the refrigerator in my condominium died I started searching for a replacement online for a unit that would match the limited space available. I found a match on the Lowes website but their delivery and pick-up policy was not clear so I called the company for clarification before placing the order. I explained that my niece was living in the unit and I needed the unit delivered as soon as possible as she had a new baby and milk in the freezer that had to stay frozen. The women on the line told me that the unit included free delivery and pickup of the old unit and delivery would be no problem. I thanked her and said I would go online and order it and she told me that I could place the order with her and there would be no need to go back to the website. We received the order notification via email and I forwarded it to my niece to schedule delivery. She called me back within minutes to tell me that the unit would not be delivered for at least 2 weeks as it was a special order item - this was never mentioned when Lowes took the order. I tried to cancel the order so I could get the items somewhere else and customer service told me that it would be 5-7 days before the money would be refunded as they already charged my card. As I was complaining customer service kept telling me that they did disclose to me the delivery date which was getting me even more irritated. I said please point out where on this order it says the date when this order can be delivered. She pointed me to a small date on the delivery button on their website. I said "I never got to order this online your sales department took the order over the phone". She says I know but I wanted to show you that we do tell you how long it will take for delivery. What really pushed me over the edge is we still don't have the refrigerator but received a survey email questioning the unit. Well we gave them the feedback their terrible and deceptive service deserved. Today we got back that they rejected the survey review because it didn't match their guidelines. Since the survey was pretty much to the point I am guessing happy reviews are only accepted.

When you selected the model online and you had to enter your zip code to show the price (mandatory) in a box to the right it tells you when it will be available or if its currently stocked, as this should have been explained by the sales associate was probably just trying to get a sale . Probably just pushed the order through thinking that you were aware of the ETA due to you being online. The 5-7 day delay to get refunded on your card is not a Lowe's thing it is actually your bank when a refund issued it is instant, you can get cashed out which is the faster way of receiving your money back, if not your bank will give you the 5-7 day time frame. Further more Lowe's is one of the main appliance stores that contains stocked appliance and a wide selection , why didn't you check for stocked item's you would have been eligible for free next day delivery, you have to assume some responsibility at some point.

I have had all good experiences with lowes they credited me pretty much the cost of a jacuzzi spa tub for coming in the wrong color .which was a hearty credit.I was remodeling my bathroom at the time, and had to rent one of those small containers to store all my bathroom stuff.but I'm glad I saw this so I can look out for any billing problems, which would be on synchrony banks hands.

As it was wrong for the salesman didn't tell you when it would come in it was just as wrong for you not being able to properly read.

Lowes - GE STOVE POOR QUALITY
I purchased my GE glass-top stove in June of 2012 but didn't start using it as I was still renovating my home. Once I started cooking I noticed the seal around the top of the stovetop was coming off. I've barely used this stove and am already experiencing problems....

So why didn't you list this as a GE complaint, not under Lowes. Lowes didn't create the problem.

Morganville Lowes Customer Service strikes out 2nd time

Morganville Lowes Customer Service strikes out 2nd time
First off, I was unhappy to find out my 6 foot Vinyl Fence panels were no longer stocked product. Also I had to find my old pamphlet at home and bring into Loews so they would acknowlegde that they sold it. Second, I ordered 3 panels within the department via a floor rep and had to go to checkout and wait on line to pay. I paid in advance to wait 2 weeks for them to do a stock transfer to Morganville NJ. Third, I arrived to pickup. They make you go to the Customer Service Dept. with receipt in hand. Jackie was having a *** day and provided me with an extension of her un professional attitude from previous customer contacts. Forth, she sent an associate to get the 3 panels. He calls the Dept. a few minutes later and is quickly off the phone. Jackie in turn advised me that I would have to sign the pikup ticket and then I can go acrosss the buiding to the lumber dept and they will help me load it. I advised her that I'm going over there and not signing anything until I see the product I paid 265.00 dollars for. She immediately replied "If I don't accept the product I must sign the pickup ticket anyway so she can do a return". Well there was a reason she had that speech ready, the product was damaged. I returned to Jackie and suggested to discount the product for damage to the stock. She walked away without asking how much and spoke to a supervisor. She retuerned right away saying no they can only do a refund on the order since it was " a special order item" ha! No authority to make the sale. So, I wrote on the ticket damaged in stock tranfer and initialed it before she rang up my credit card refund. The Fifth error on their part, I asked her to re-order it and she said she can't. I can ONLY re-order it by going back to the department where the fences are and have one of the floor reps order it! NO authority again! Well, I didn't order it. I'm spending my money on a new fence at another store. Now I lost 2 weeks, I can't install it during my time off work and now I need more time to find another fence! Oh yeah, the other time Lowes struck out swinging was when I bought 3 rooms of carpet from this same store and the print was so stretched out on the roll they couldn't match the pattern when they tried to seem it. They gave me a 250 discount then, so I even bought a BBQ grill from them. I'm glad I put it together myself because it still works!

Some of your points are valid but others aren't her fault. Just as you don't walk into the grocery store and expect the cashier to pull a couple of steaks out of the meat counter, the service desk doesn't write sales orders.

Lowes - Valspar paint is garbage

I actually work at Lowe's in the paint dept and paint houses on the side for a living. The bubble issue your having is not because of the paint but because of the type of roller your using.

Its very important to make sure your surface is clean and free of debris. Make sure you know what your painting on top of. If the walls have a oil base on them, stick with a oil base paint or primer them with a oil base or latex base primer and then paint them with a latex paint. This will stop the problem of peeling and in some cases, bubbles.

IF YOUR NOT SURE OF WHAT TYPE OF PAINT IS ALREADY ON THE WALLS...POUR ALCOHOL ON A COTTON BALL OR RAG AND WIPE THE SURFACE. IF PAINT COMES OFF THEN ITS LATEX, IF NO PAINT COMES OFF THEN ITS OIL BASE. The truth about ANY brand paint that has (Paint + Primer) written on the front is ONLY for surfaces that are already painted with lightly colored tint and in good condition. If your painting over fresh wood, new drywall or dark colors, a pure primer is needed.

If your planning on buying primer, have a employee tint it gray for you. Gray primer tends to cover up existing paint a lot better (dark colors and stains), it will also bring out the true color of your top coated tint that you picked out....and in less coats. I have had customers come in and say they didn't like the Valspar Reserve or Signature and with just a few questions I asked them, 9 times out of 10, it was something that they didn't do before painting. Don't expect to know everything because there's always something new to learn about paint...that's what we're there for, to help you with your projects.

Hope this helps! :)

Used too much paint, YOU used a wrong roller, YOU did not use paint drop cloths, YOU do not know how to paint, YOU used paint/primer paint, YOU should of done research, and lastly, YOU should of hired someone who knew what they were doing. YOU should not point fingers.

It's like tell a child while YOU are pointing a finger, there are four pointing back at YOU.

Lowes - Faulty installation

Update by user Mar 19, 2013

Getting close to 14K, my insurance company is suing. It was determined by my HOI that the loss was due to faulty installation.

The Lowe's investigator said that "nuts" have a habit of loosening up!

Really?! Wow, my previous 9 year dishwasher, another 4 year, 2 others...

I will start by saying that it sucks that the connection line dripped after installation. However for a slow drip to cause over 12k in damage I have to wonder how long you let it go after you discovered it.Long enough to get a new kitchen apparently! The connection lines on most dishwashers are toward the front so if it was dripping surely some water had to be coming out from under it that should have made you stop and think there might be a leak.
