Lowes in Southborough, Massachusetts - Horrible return policy and attitude

I bought two large Christmas lawn decorations from Lowe's just before Christmas in 2015, spending over $200. Both have fans to blow them up. They worked fine for last season. When I went to set them up this year neither of the fans would spin. They appeared to be rusted and corroded. I went to the local Lowe's and was rudely informed that 'the seasonal return policy is 30 days with a receipt, sirrr'. I asked for the manager and he puffed out his chest and repeated their policy. He was a big guy and seemed to want to intimidate me. I politely argued my case with no success. 'Have a nice day' (sarcastically) was the last thing I heard as I turned to leave.

You are aware that all seasonal merchandise has that policy as many try to abuse the policy before that allowed all refunds, which in turned raised prices. It is not the store's fault that you can not maintain a product.

So you put them away with some snow or moisture left on them and the moisture rusted the fan, does't sound like a defect to me. Why should the store or manufacturer be responsible for improper storage?

Do you realize that when a store takes products back that aren't defective but abused we as consumers cover that cost in the form of higher prices? I for one don't want to have to pay for your improper storage and am glad Lowes refused your return.

I find that one hard to believe.

OP, exactly how do you know that everyone is mad? Did you actually talk to everyone inside the store or observe everyone to make that assumption?

Lowes in Arlington, Texas - Lowe's scammed us out of almost $15,000 of bamboo flooring

My husband and I did an approximate $45,000 home remodeling project over the past 24 months. The final project was to replace carpet with very expensive Cali Flooring bamboo flooring from Lowe's. We were given a 12 month full "guarantee". Within 2 weeks, the flooring began buckling and planks coming up. It took almost 6 weeks of contacting Lowe's to get any response. They finally replaced the flooring. After the 2nd installation, within 8 weeks, the flooring started buckling and it took 12 weeks to get any action from Lowe's. We felt they were trying to ride out the 12 month guarantee. The fingers started pointing..... Lowe's hired an hard floor industry expert that determined the problem was from the installed nailing the baseboard to the planks so that the floor cannot float. Lowe's denied any further responsibility and pushed it to their installer, and eventually to their insurance carrier Nationwide. Nationwide has denied the claim; Lowe's has not taken any responsibility, and now we are out $15,000 of unusable flooring. My home looks horrible and the buckling is worse every day. DON'T USE LOWE'S! I just told my husband that if he ever walked into another Lowe's and spent one cent, he'd be out the door. Out of the $45,000 we spent on this remodel 80% was purchased through Lowe's and 20% at Home Depot. Our remodeler tried to warn us about Lowe's and the way they really treat their customers, but we didn't listen. SHAMEFUL company! I hope they all rot in *** for what they have done. We're two paramedics, and it took us a long time to save that money.

Lowe's is only responsible for the warranty ONE TIME! After that it is up to the manufacturer to either stand behind their product or not.

You shouldn't have gone to a DISCOUNT home improvement store to buy an item just because it was cheaper then it might have been somewhere else. Don't blame the player, blame the game.

Sounds like it was installed incorrectly. The installers come from Lowes so yes it is their responsibility.

I can't get ahold of anyone to install my carpet. They simply don't answer or return calls.

Lowes in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan - Dissapointment

Lowes and any other company should quit using this delivery company. I took the day off (our busiest season) They called to confirm delivery time. I waited and waited, I called they said that we were the last in the area and the driver should be there shortly so I waited.........the driver showed up, yay! I was looking out the front window waiting for them to get out so I could open door and guess what?? They drove away!? Called company and they said driver knocked and no one answered, EXCUSE ME!? I took the day off, confirmed the time and I'm not there??? I'm sorry the driver is 20 minutes out he's not coming back. Thanks Lowes, thanks XPO! Way to represent, I can't afford to take a day off, my food is sitting in the garage and not in the fridge I PAID for, all because the driver LIED. Is that my fault? Where oh where is customer service? Fire your driver, hire responsible individuals and pay them well to do there job. Get a manager that can get the job done. Do you read reviews? Look at all the bad reviews. This isn't the first time with XPO but it will be my last. Next time I purchas anything to be delivered I will make sure they do not use XPO! I hope people read this prior to doing business with this company. I will only post this review if the manager does not call me back like he said he would, so if you see this there was no resolution as I suspect there will not be.....sad

Although XPO is a disgrace (from personal experience), it is Lowes who selects them for the delivery. There are 100's if not 1000's of other companies that can deliver a refrigerator.

I went through this with Lowes blaming XPO and XPO blaming LG and LG blaming Lowes and around we went.

I ended up with no refrigerator and no stove. Lowes ended up with one less long time customer

Think twice before you buy something at Lowes

Aside from rude employees, Lowes is highly over priced. Many times I have found the same thing for much less. Just today I bought metal shelf brackets at a competitor one mile down the street for much less than Lowes. There may be something that you will need at Lowes that you can't get any place else, but it's rare. There are lots of other stores that will have the same item for a lot less. Also other stores are offering the same guarantee policy that Lowes offers. So to review, think twice before you spend more than you have to at Lowes. Always use discretion.

Why didn't you just price match as they will also take an additional 10 percent off the item if they are the same item.

Arrogant, Dishonest and Rude Lowes Should Not Be In Business

Lowes store Bryant Irvin rd Fort Worth Texas. Received an email from Lowes advertising a Bosch Drill driver combo set (Item 777305) for $129. The email urged me to place an order now for the item. I checked the Lowes website for stock at my Lowes store and it indicated there were 3 in stock. Went to my Lowes store and could not find any. The guy in tools helping me to look said I should just order the item online. Not wanting to run all over town looking for the item I went home and ordered the item online. Received a call from the store customer service (Sarah) saying they did not have any in stock and she was just canceling the order. Did not offer to transfer the item from another store or get it from the warehouse or ship it to my home from the warehose. What the *** is wrong with this Lowes store and the people that work there? Is Lowes doing so well financially that they don't need to sell merchandise or provide customer service? Is this just a local store problem or is this a bigger corporate problem? If you don't want to sell the item why are sending me emails advertising the item? And what is the point of ordering an item online if its not coming from a national distribution warehouse but only limited to inventory at a single store? When I order online at Home Depot the order is not pulled from a single stores inventory its pulled nationwide and even back to the manufacturer. Lowes has serious problems with your ordering system and your customer service. You need to rename it customer dis-service because it is certainly not customer service. You don't even understand the concept of customer service. The same thing happened to me a few months back with a Dremel Tool set you sent me an email about urging me to buy it now online. Turned out you didn't have that item either and your customer dis-service would not find it and fill the order. I can see from all the complaints online about Lowes customer dis-service this is not isolated to this one store. Got a reply back from Lowes national customer service. The email basically says, sorry we don't give a *** about the customer.

Lowes - Door Review

We bought a reliabilt exterior door for our balcony with the enclosed blinds. The first thing to break was the slider handle which they came out and replaced . Within a month it broke again but we were too frustrated and just kept working around the issue . Then the blinds became difficult going up and down and wouldn't slide correctly. We contacted reliability again but this time we could not find our original receipt so they refused to help us. Now the blinds won't go up or down except they jam and the strings inside are frayed and there's dirt inside the glass. Very frustrating this door is not three years old and we have to replace it. After about an hour we got the blinds to completely close so taking a picture or a video now wouldn't help - would be willing to provide a video if reliabilt would like one .

Lowes - Window Installation Review

Bought 6 windows from Henderson Texas , took almost 5 months for them to get installed. First windows showed up and they were not right size. I still think they never got them rebuilt. Could not get anyone from store to respond unless I sent nasty note to corp customer service. Installer had a really bad attitude, he broke bricks loose and then was upset he had to repair them. He's as bad a brick repair guy as he is a window installer. Quality of windows absolutely stinks. There manufacturer should not be in business. I told lowes in one email I did not want to talk to anyone from store again, they have no comprehension of the words "do not want". I have requested my money back, I'll buy windows somewhere else and they can pick their junk up out of yard. They do not listen.

Never buy a door/installation from Lowes. It's been a complete nightmare that I'm still dealing with 4 months later. The installers didn't come with the proper equipment but still made it "work." I am still waiting for the proper equipment to arrive/be installed. The product was purchased in Louisville, KY - specifically the Hurstbourne Lane location. I have probably called that story over a dozen times to have them come out and finished the job that I paid for - I'm not even complaining about the installation fee doubling after I signed a contract... I used Home Depot at my previous home and had a very positive experience, I am kicking myself for going to Lowes this time.

These big box stores use many outside contractors to do these things---some good, some bad. I have found it's always best to buy the, say door and then either install it myself or have a local contractor do the install if I cannot.

They don't get paid until they do the job and do it right, thus they usually do a good job for you. Relying on the transient sub contracted thru Lowe's or other can be a hit or miss situation as you found out.

Lowes - Poor Customer Service

I had a very disappointing experience with Lowes. I went to Lowes Centrepoint at 7am the day the snowblower sale started (Thursday). They did not have any in stock. I asked if they could ship from another store, was told no. Was directed to purchase online. I placed the order at 8am with a CSR as price online was incorrect. Received a call Saturday saying they were cancelling the order as they were out of stock. Offered no other solutions. Such poor planning and customer service. How could they not have stock the morning the sale started or offer to get it from another store. Frustrated and disappointed.
