Lowes review in Harlingen, Texas: Repair of an Air Conditioner Unit

I am very disappointed with Lowe's on how this matter has yet to be resolved. My unit is still under warranty and stopped working. The company that Lowe's has under contract has yet to repair my AC Unit. It has been over 1 month and they keep telling me that the parts are on back order. I keep talking to Lowe's and the company that they hire to repair their AC Units. I have yet to get back my AC Unit repaired. I will never by a warranty with Lowe's again. I didn't realize that Lowe's did not stand by their warranties that they sell to their customers. I have pleaded for them to get my AC Unit fixed and they are still giving me the round around. I don't know what else to do in this matter. Right now, I am without an AC Unit in my house.

What do you expect them to repair it with if the parts are on backorder? That's the problem with so many things being made in China now...it takes time to get parts to fix things.

I am a contractor and received a quote for some materials, I returned the next day to purchase and brought the quote with me, the store in Leesville Louisiana which quoted the materials did not actuall give me the pricing quoted and then refused to correct the issue when I tried bringing it to their attention.

As a contractor, you of all people should be aware that the prices on building materials change frequently. Prices in the building materials industry go up or down based on supply and demand for the material involved.

You received a quote for the price of the material if purchased that day. You state you weren't charged the price on the quote, you don't say if you were charged more or less. My bet is you were charged a little more because you wouldn't complain if the prices had gone down. Do you get bent out of shape when you go to fill your gas tank in the morning only to find the price for gas went up 10 cents a gallon overnight?

No, you just pay the price on the pump. Why are you complaining the price in a store changed from one day to the next?

I had a horrendous experience dealing with Lowes customer service and nightmare delivery of 3 essential appliances. The order was 5 days late in my new apartment resulting in financial damages ( $250 worth of food spoiling without fridge being delivered in time ) I would never , never , never recommend anyone to do business with them.

Lowes Website is Terrible and Getting Worse

I am in the process of building cabinets using panel boards. Lowe's has 21 panel boards listed they call appearance boards. They previously called them Stain Kiln-Dried Radiata Pine Panels which was wrong. I use their website to get list of materials needed and also to get a total price. The appearance boards now list the thickness and width but do not list any board lengths. I cannot get a list of needed materials without knowing the length of the boards. They also list items on their site that state it is in stock, but when I go to the store to purchase the item they don't have it. It seems Lowe's website is getting worse. They need to fire their web master and hire someone who knows what they are doing. I am very, very dissatisfied with their website.

I work at Lowes for mor thank twenty years and then was told i made to much money and three people could work ther for what i was paid so they found a way to get met out the door. I am an older person and have not been able to find a job for over two years. I triedto go back to lowes to work and seem to not have what it takes to get back to work for them. The only thing i can seem to find out is that i have been BLACK BALL by management so they dont get my business and anyone i talkto about any home repai i tell them to go to Home Depot they may get help but at least they have choice.

Keeping the people who don't give a *** about thier job and get rid of the ones that do care about thier job and make a living . Yayyyy for you !!!!!! Do you really understand or know how many of these employees and thier families lives you just screwed over ?

These people you let go do not deserve this at all ! Maybe you ( Lowe's ) should look at upper management like corp instead of theses people trying to live and make a future for themselves and try raising thier families

Same experience but from different Location in NY state. Took 5 months to find job.

The way I. was dismissed was unfair. Looking back, last 2 years, I endured a hostile work environment. The store management team was mostly unqualified, untrained and unprofessional.

I discussed my case with an attorney and he said he could get my job back but I could never force myself to go back. Most good managers make their own success. Working for Lowes is the fastest way to kill a retail management career.

If you are looking for a job as a manager, I would stay away from Lowes. Just look at all of the customer complaints.

This is now how an employee should have been treated after any length of service. If true this shows very bad company policy and it should be investigated by the company upper management and local labor agencies.

100% accurate. They don't care about who works and want 3 people working 10 hours, not 1 working 35. They also don't care if 1 employee has to cover multiple departments.

Lowes review in Ottawa, Ontario: Wrong product

I asked a Lowe's employee for advice regarding adhesive to secure vapour barrier to studs to seal in new insulation. I was given a construction adhesive and told that was the best one for the job. After spending a couple hours securing the vapour barrier I noticed that it wasn't holding very well. I thought that maybe it just needed more time to dry. Nope. It was the wrong product. Because of Lowe's bad advice I wasted an afternoon, ruined a vapour barrier and had to re-purchase the caulking. When I asked the customer service desk about this issue (if the remaining tube of the wrong stuff could be exchanged for the right stuff), he directed me to the aint department. There was no one in the paint department. They paged overhead, waited, waited. Finally someone in the paint department arrived and she 'guessed' that a different kind would be the right one. I'll be shopping at Home Depot from now on. Their advice has always been spot on.

Home Depot will mess something up for you eventually. They don't pay any better than Lowes and hire the same level of employees.

Not professionals. Their training consist of reading the box.

Assuming they're experts is your mistake. It would be like going to Dickssporting goods and asking for expert power lifting advice.

My washing machine broke down and we bought one from Lowes, Bluffton, SC that they said was "in stock" and scheduled a Monday morning installation. No show at noon and called for nearly an hour with no answer or hangups. Finally got some *** who had a problem with English saying "person at lunch!" Called back about 14:00 and was told that the item was damaged and no delivery today. Wasted a whole day waiting for them when they knew early on there would be no delivery and never had the courtesy to call, Finally called in the evening to say it was re-ordered and would take a week or so! SCREW THEM! Ordered from AJ Madison at lower price and sooner delivery!

Lowes review in Houston, Texas: Trim you can't buy 3ft you buy 12ft only

was at lowes store on hwy 249 and got gal paint & tape and i wanted a 3ft piece of trim the saleman told me you got to buy the whole 12ft i ask for a manger they told me hes in a meeting ..so talked to man said he floor manger he give me same anwser i would have to buy the whole 12 or 16ft . on the trim it had a sticker a bar code that said $1.49 a ft. so if they cut 3ft off i would pay that price lowes would not lose no money . thats ok just went to home depot got what i wanted . BUT i made a trip to lowes an got paint tape while i was in the store i should have got a refund . kenneth thomas

I opened a lowes credit account and I never got a card. I called them back in October and they told me that my card would ship Dec 22. Yes, two months after I called! I still haven't gotten my card!. I've tried to call them but it's impossible to speak to a human at lowes customer service or lowes consumer credit. The only time I got through to lowes consumer credit it sounded like the agent put me on mute and then hung up two min later. Having been completely unable to speak to anyone at Lowes consumer credit I tried calling lowes customer service. Held for 15 min and never spoke to a human!
