LOWE'S IS GOING TO BE SHUTTERING STORES NATIONWIDE!

The other day I read in the Wall Street Journal that Lowe's is going to be shuttering down stores nationwide soon. Probably because of all of the lost business from people who are pissed off about their rebate scams. You can't treat your customers that way and get away without having any kind of repercussions from it. That's usually what happens when a business treats it's customers with disrespect and gyps them. They end up having to shutter stores nationwide and declare bankruptcy and some of them end up going out of business for good. Which is the way that it should be. Treat your customers right and they will be loyal customers who make you lots of profits. Treat them with rudeness and go out of business.

That's good news for people scraping by on "Nut Checks" of only $750 a month. They could probably get some good deals on home supplies with the "going out of business" sales.

DONT ORDER FROM LOWES

Dont order any appliance online, they never process, ship. Automatic call to confirm delivery time but my appliance NEVER SHIP. Customer service are useless and liar, when you ask for a supervisor, they forward you to a no one answered line. This company is ridiculous. Talked over 11 person on phone and 42 days. Complaint on its FB, got couple replies, then STOP REPLY AFTER PROPOSED DELIVERY DATE. There are only 3 things Lowes customer service ppl will do. 1. TRANSFER ME TO A NO ONE ANSWERING Landline. 2. NO REPLY ANY EMAIL. 3. NO REPLY ANY MESSAGE. It really a nightmare to order from Lowes. Shame on Lowes. I never order anything online in this size of company will turn out like this. Lowe's does not repair. If you're covered by a warranty you have to call the warranty phone number. The warranty center will send out a repair man.

Lowes - Nightmare
2-16-2018 we signed contract to have siding, gutters and a new door installed. Purchase price $15,000.00. Like to have never gotten it in. One excuse was that the people who was to actually make the siding forgot to look at their fax machine. When finally it did come in, it was a week before delivered to the wrong address and part of that was missing. It was two more days to get them to come and move the siding and gutters plus missing items to our address. As of this date our door that we order is still not in. The installers don't come out when they are suppose to. Immigration problems is what they told us. HHHMMMM. They have covered up where light fixtures and outside electrical outlets. Cut some wires for light fixtures so short I am not sure they will be able to put it back without a electrician. One light outside light fixture is just hanging down and won't come on. I was told that the screw is now too short to put the light back up. That I need to go buy some longer screws. I did. But no one has bothered to put it back up nor make sure it works now. (This was a new light only bought back in January of this year.) Left trim off of parts of the house. Put siding on the house where you can not open a gate that goes into a storage area and broke the latch off of same gate. only have done the bottom part of the house. One area they actually trimmed off the bottom story from the second story with some kind of crazy looking V shaped trim like here is where we stop. Wasted so much material that really not sure that there is going to be enough when the second story is finally done. Trim is crooked and patched, bent outward. Only trimmed out some of the windows but haven't even tried wrapping them. I have taken somewhere between 30 and 40 pictures of the crazy looking stuff that has been done. Today was a beautiful Monday did they show up. NO. Now raining tonight, tomorrow and possibly into Wednesday.

Lowes protecion plan

Refrigerator broke. Called for service. Lowes sales person told me 24/7 service when I bought the plan. Service Operator told me they would expedite. They never called back. Went to independent contractor to fix. Lowes will not reimburse. DO NOT purchase this plan- it is totally useless, a complete waste of time and money. Called customer service three times to complain, got the run around every time. Seems the service is only available when they can get around to it. Asked for refund or partial reimbursement, this is when the excuses kept coming out. The amount of time and money wasted going back and forth was more than the plan cost. Very irresponsible as a business. Did some research, it seems there are no positive reviews for this plan.

Lowes is only interested in your wallet

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went with Lowe's as contractors are difficult to locate in our area unless one has a very big money project. I believed that Lowe's stood behind its work as they are a national corporation with a reputation to protect. Kitchen designer was awesome. I went into the project just looking to replace countertops in the kitchen and two bathrooms and ended up having the entire kitchen remodeled and expanded and new stools and vanities in both bathrooms. This was not a low end remodel- we spent well over 25k just at Lowes with several things bought elsewhere. Things began badly with terrible communication from the Project Coordinator that resulted in having our old kitchen torn out with a projected date of return to finish five weeks away. Fortunately, the granite was installed sooner than expected but the trouble was just beginning. Incredibly long story short, kitchen was paid for 100% in February. Work began March 19th and as of June 18th there's no end in sight. This has been the worst experience of my life and has nearly ruined my marriage as my husband (who works 60 hours a week) spends all of his time off repairing the damage done by the first contractor (who I had to fire due to being insulted, my home and belongings damaged, poor workmanship, and incredibly unprofessional behavior from not only his employees but also the owner). We haven't had sinks in the bathrooms since April and cannot entertain in our home as the dining room is filled with kitchen materials. Getting corporate involved actually made things WORSE. Although usually executive level customer service is exceptional- the best of the best - it's obvious that the rep assigned to the project couldn't care less. He just wants to move the file into the "done " box. Lowes not only doesn't stand behind its work, it will find every possible excuse to deny responsibility. I have more than 5k worth of cracked granite (turns out that it was "quarry fill" - a shady practice in which a cracked granite slab is turned into a sellable one with cheap glue that dissolves when the countertop is cleaned), cabinets that are ruined from improper installation, a tile floor that was in near perfect condition that needs to be replaced, and much more. Every contractor who has been in the house has been shocked by the terrible workmanship and angered because "this kind of thing makes all contractors look bad". I was told the subcontractor has never been a problem (untrue), everyone involved with the granite is more concerned about throwing the next company under the bus than in seeing the customer treated well, and if I have the cabinets installed in July it will be a miracle. I believe I may have to hire an attorney - although Lowes is technically fulfilling the contract, if agonizingly slowly. The kitchen designer said that she has never seen so many things go wrong on one job or a project take so long. Or at least she did before she was told she was off the project (meaning: don't provide service to this customer any longer unless she opens her wallet again). If someone had told me this would happen, I would not have believed it. And Lowes absolutely refuses to apologize or to tell me that they will make things right. I have tried to be patient and understanding, but these people would try the patience of Job. In the past year we have spent almost 60k at Lowes and planned to have vinyl siding installed and more work done but Lowes will never get another penny from us. When I told the executive customer service representative this, he nearly came out and said, "yeah, whatever ". I have never seen anything like this before. No one cares. Customers are only vehicles for their wallets. They take 100% payment up front and provide service at their leisure. And the customer is always wrong.

When you have work done by a contractor through Lowes or Home Depot you never know who will be working on your home. They hire the lowest price contractors they can find and then mark up their charges.

You are better off going through the work of locating your own contractor.

That way you can check references and know exactly who will be working in your home. You will often end up paying less as well as you don't pay the stores mark up on the contractors labor.

Been trying to get new gate installed since March 13th. They have rigged it up ever time. First time they propped half of old gate up with rock. Came back after weeks say they would fix it as specified in contract. Nor they claim they can’t get caps for post and put it up to high that my dog can crawl under. I’m tired of fooling with these people. I want a refund so I can hire someone that knows what they’re doing to install it properly!

Drenched by Flower Pot at Garden Center

Pulled a large pot of water download for me. Just had foot surgery. In surgical shoe. Lowe's local staff treated me horribly. Water got into my Galaxy Note phone. Ruined the speaker. Lowe's said no one saw me pill pot off shelf which had no roof. Many employees saw me wet. Offered no help. Basically called a 67 year-old woman with a $10,000 credit limit with Lowe's a liar. Local mgmt unprofessional. Efforts to contact corporate management through certified mail failed. Life long cust. Their loss. Msny home projects planned to get house ready to sell. No wonder they sre closing stores.

I didnt quite understand your first sentence.

Guest

Ok so you got wet, so what. That’s called life.

It’s NOT their fault directly that you got yourself wet. Indirectly yes as it was on their property. But face reality that is a ACT OF GOD. No ones fault directly and some common sense on your part would have prevented the situation.

A open roof means rain will get in. If the pot was over your head then you should have had a employee get it for you. It’s not about your credit limit but your age does factor in. At your age you would think a smidge of common sense would apply.

Get over it because sometimes in life we have to live with the choices you have made. The only person you should be mad at is yourself. Trying to use your age, financial status, or any future potential purchases is not going to cause them to do anything but laugh at you.

You did this to yourself on their property. That doesn’t make it their fault.

Guest

Was this in an outdoor garden center where the rain can hit it? If so water is so meting you might expect to be in a pot you pull off the shelf. Just a fact of nature.

I will never buy from Lowes again

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a Bar-B-Q grill. I was promised a delivery of 8/29. The delivery guys delivered it and from here my ordeal started. I called up Lowes and they promised a replacement to be delivered on 9/1. On 9/1 I called Lowes to check on the delivery time as I had not heard from them. The manager at West Hills, CA store from where I brought the grill told me it will be delivered between 5:30 and 7:30. I stepped out and at around 12:20 PM i receive a call they are there to deliver the grill. I was almost an hour away from home and told them to reschedule as I was given a different time. I was told they will deliver on 9/2 between 9:30 and 11:30 AM. I stayed at home and when they did not arrive at 11:30 I called the store, I was on hold for almost 40 minutes and during this time I was disconnected at-least 4-5 times. Finally I was able to get hold of the manager and he told me they do not control the delivery as it is outsourced and we will get a call from the delivery company. Finally, in the evening I went to the store and they put the notes in the system for a delivery on 9/3. I have still not received the grill and I have been on the call with them for 30 minutes. This is one of the worst experiences and I do not plan to buy from Lowes again.

Installers(Bath & Kitchens R Us)for Lowes rip customers off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Store 1099 & 2758 of Colorado Springs uses Bath & Kitchens R Us owned by Mark & Deb Witte. This installation company that Lowes uses just rips off customers and their installers, since Lowes approves the credit amount that Bath & Kitchens R Us quotes as the labor costs are hiked up because so many people have their hand in the pot. Would not recommend any homeowner to use Lowes that uses Bath & Kitchens R Us to install products! There are always change orders that cause the orginal amount to go up thousands of dollars, leaving the customer no choice but to pay it if they want it completed so Lowes increases the credit card amount and the jobs are always delayed by incompetent installers or products not being delivered. Please don't go through the inconvenience or extra cost. You can find other installers that would only charge half the price of what Bath & Kitchens R Us charge. They rip you off and have different installers all throughout the project because the installers quit because of the way Mark Witte runs things.

Allergic to dogs

Yesterday 10/12/18 i entered Lowe's store on north side of Springfield Mo i shop there quite a bit i was asking a cashier where a product was located was listening to her answer when a dog on a lease comes right by me i am allergic to dogs so i told her and we moved out of the way of the dog and she was trying to tell me where to find the product i was looking for and the dog reappears again i went to get the magnetic tape when i felt the sneezing coming on i headed straight to my car and and sneezed for quite a spell i read on the internet that Lowe's is pet friendly and of course i will never shop there again my complaint is why do you not warn customers like me that dogs are allowed in your stores and you may not know it but fleas from these dogs can very easily jump from these dogs to customers its simple just put up a sign at the entrance warning customers that dogs are allowed in your store.....Jim Housley

Should they also warn people with allergies to flowers? How about allergies to dust?

I noticed you also said that you had read the pet friendly notice online. You didn't think that applied to your store as well? Should they also warn you about service dogs being in store? I have allergies myself and your complaint is frivolous.

It is no one's responsibility but your own to be aware of your surroundings. If you're stepping outside take the appropriate medicine with you in case you need to use it.

As many stores are pet friendly I would suggest you stay home and shop on-line.

Horrible Experience with Windows!

I purchased Pella windows from Lowes in Oshkosh, WI on April 3, 2018. The windows were received and installation began on May 15. The installer made a mistake on the window measurements: they were 1/2" too big for the openings but insisted they could make the window fit. WRONG! The installers got the windows in but they mutilated my home. They have yet to finish wrapping the outside of the windows and have removed all the interior wood trim around the windows. It is now July 17 and Lowes doesn't give a damn about completing the installation. I have contacted four reputable contractors and no one wants to finish Lowes *** I am contacting an attorney and the cost will be much greater than if I had just purchased the windows from a reputable company. If you want windows, STAY AWAY FROM LOWES! Lowes doesn't even deserve a one-star rating.

I don't understand your comment that I might be a to total c**t. I will not stoop to your level but Lowes is responsible for this dreadful situation.

Lowes hired the installer, agreed with the installer's "solution" to the wrong-size windows, and now will not help correct the situation.

Lowes should not be selling windows... they should leave it to the professionals.

The "professionals" you speak of have all been driven out of business by cheap a55 people like you who want to save a few bucks shopping at places like Lowe's.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1520965

Even the professionals get some of their things at Lowes or Home Depot. An independent contractor isn't going to touch the job because another contractor was working on it.

It's a legal issue to them.

Your best bet is to contact the installer. If you have to contact the corporate office.

Guest

Or maybe next time you'll do more research on window installation then you wont be crying and blaming Lowes

It is not a Lowe's job. It your installer. The fact no one wants too touch your windows makes me wonder if you might be to total {{redacted}}.

Anyone but Lowe's for your kitchen renovation

I will state the facts without profanity or mentioning any names when detailing our nightmare renovation with Lowe's. Workmanship of cabinetry and installation are far below standard. We have been ignored for months by Lowe's representatives and we are currently on our 5th project coordinator. All 5 coordinators worked at the main office in Indianapolis and had no clue about us or our renovation in Ohio. We were left feeling very helpless when issues came up. We are so sorry that we ignored the reviews and picked Lowe's for our kitchen renovation. This was probably the only time in our lives that we will be able to afford to renovate our kitchen. It should have been a wonderful and exciting experience, but Lowe's ruined it for us. Kraftmaid provided their top-of-the-line cabinets with paint defects and many flaws. They will not replace multiple flawed cabinet doors without their rep coming to your house only when it fits his schedule, which in our case was six weeks. They made several attempts to remedy the defects to no avail. Lowe's will not stand behind their workmanship or assist you in any way to improve the paint quality on Kraftmaid's cabinets. We have been patient through this whole ordeal for 12 months now and it hasn't been resolved. We will have to live with the mistakes and the paint flaws. We have asked for a refund of some of our money and Lowe's has continued to ignore us. Someone needs to put Lowe's out of business so they can't keep getting away with cheating homeowners out of their hard-earned money and dreams. Please read the reviews online pertaining to Lowe's kitchen renovations before making your decisions. For most of us this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We all deserve to get a quality job done on our dream kitchen. There is sure to be some good contractors that can fulfill those dreams.

Part of your problem may be expectations that aren't realistic. What are the "defects and flaws" in the paint?

Having sold cabinets in the past (not at Lowes) I did my best to show my customers the disadvantages of painted cabinets compared to a stained cabinet. The doors and face frames (the most noticeable parts of the cabinet) are usually made or wood. As temperatures and humidity change wood will expand and contract. When this happens the joints in the wood may move.

When this happens the paint will crack. This is not a defect in the cabinet or the paint. It is the nature of real wood. This is not as noticeable on a stained cabinet but you may notice panel shrinkage on the door of a stained cabinet.

Fortunately stain is easier to touch up than paint is.

If you look closely at the brochures provided by the cabinet manufactures you will usually find this information there as well. When buying painted cabinets be sure you are comfortable with the fact that any joint may show signs of cracking as seasons change.
