Lowes won't step up !

3.0
Details
We had Lowes install our new kitchen granite countertops in their new countertops in our 2 1/2 bathrooms. When the installers came to install the countertops the kitchen countertops fit and looked outstanding. However, the bathroom countertops were apparently measured work but improperly and did not fit. The installers had already removed and destroyed the existing countertops so they could not be set back in place. Additionally, while attempting to "make" them fit there was extensive damage to the walls. This occurred in October of 2014. Super Bowl weekend January 2015 the new cabinet countertops were installed in repairs are made to the walls. We spent the Super Bowl weekend with our children out of town in Nashville Tennessee and return two days after repairs were completed to find the house flooded from the top floor down. The extensive damage included flooding in three bedrooms two bathrooms the entire kitchen living room and dining area. I first called the Lowes was made as I was standing amidst the flooding with water coming from the ceiling fans and light fixtures as well as flowing into the air-conditioning ducts in the floor. To date our insurance company has paid $129,000 in actual construction cost as well as approximately $12,000 in relocation expenses. It is now November 2015 nearly a year later and we have just completed construction. Perhaps the greatest frustration was that Lowes denied any responsibility and referred us to their "subcontractors" I'm still paying for the countertops and installation and have nothing to show for it from Lowes.

Yikes...you always want to have someone at the home when anyone is doing work, or even paid to clean the house..always....just too much could go wrong, stolen, gone through etc

That's crazy. .I could not imagine walking into that..like you would see on a movie...I have a friend's mom whom had lowes install kitchen laminate floor..not a very big area, and they pulled the dishwasher out to install "the right way" they ruined the dishwasher, and messed up the floor and cut it in small sections and they sent people out, take pics, sent peple from the manafactor out....it's been 4 years and she eventually just "ate the cost" and she had someone else to fix it once she realized they would not help, and found they didn't lay floor right, and there was a small leak from dishwasher that was seeping under the laminate (she has issues with it bending up, they tried to say because she used water to mop cause it) and it leaked through her walls, and into her laundry room and down into basement from when she ran the dishwasher and didn't know it was leaking. Had mold growing and everything..these peple are like 70 ish and sure had no pulled the dishwasher out or anything since lowes workers had...but thank goodness their insurance state farm helped them and got things replaced

Lowes appliance warranty fixes nothing

1.9
Details
We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December 2013. A few months after its first repair, (dripping on the top left inside of the fridge), which happened within the first year and was covered by the manufacturers warranty, it started to make an incredibly loud whirring sound that kept us up at night. Our bedroom is upstairs and far away from our kitchen, and I had to sleep with earplugs to not hear the noise. We tested the noise on a decibel app and it came in between 66-70. A normal fridge noise level should be around 52 decibels. We had a repairman come out and he replaced a fan even though he told me it wasn't going to fix the problem. Wait, what? After he replaced the fan and the whir continued, we called Lowes' extended warranty again, and they sent out a different company: 1-800-Appliance. The second guy replaced two kits and found some issue with the ice maker, which we were not even aware of, but the noise remained, and he then had the gall to say it was a normal noise. If it was normal, wouldn't it have been making that noise the first year we had it? We had 1-800-Appliance come out again and he determined he couldn't fix it, so Lowes sent another guy from the same company, and he replaced the same fan that the first guy replaced, which was clearly not the problem. Three perfectly good fans were wasted. BTW, the repairman who said the noise was "normal" told us that the fridge had a part that was made to be replaced after purchase because if Whirlpool had the part at the point of sale, the fridge would not meet the Energy Star standards. Hello, lawsuit! After three repairs for the same problem and five visits that did not fix the problem, we were told Lowes would issue us a return order in three days. Finally! Not so fast ...one week later, no one called, so I called them and then Lowes denied having told us that! We gave them the name of the person who told us they would take the fridge back, but the woman on the other end said she had no record of that (how convenient) and, despite the California lemon law requiring only three attempts at a repair, they would require yet another attempt by one of their repairmen. She told me that if he determined the noise was abnormally loud and not repairable, then she could contact the manufacturer and go from there. So they sent a guy from the first company out and he wrote down that the fridge was not repairable and was very noisy. He said that should take the fridge back at that point. My husband called Lowes several days later after not being contacted by them and they told him that they need to send a different repairmen out from 1-800-Appliance and that only 1-800-Appliance could determine if we could get a refund. If that was true, then why send the other company out? By the way, the second guy sent out by 1-800-Appliance wrote down that the noise was very loud and wasn't fixed by his repair. But the notes Lowes said they received from him didn't say that at all. They told me that he wrote that the noise level was normal. I am starting to think there is collusion between Lowes and 1-800-Appliance. Something very wrong here. So, six visits later and horrible customer service from both Lowes and 1-800-appliance, we are now being told that the "repairs" need to be 30 days apart from each other before they will issue a return. If the cause of the noise was never actually repaired, then why do we have to wait a month between repairs? We continue to jump through the hoops that Lowes keeps throwing our way, but it is now clear that they have no intention of taking the fridge back. The fridge is less than two years old, and we have the extended warranty. We couldn't take the noise any further because it felt like it was causing hearing loss and after several months of that horrible sound we were both on edge, so we bought an amazingly quiet fridge from Pacific Sales, and they assured us that they would not do to us what Lowes did. Pacific Sales pride themselves with having good customer service. Lowes seems to have taken delight in lying to us, selling us a lemon, and then not righting a wrong. We have moved the loud piece of shi* into our garage, and if Lowes continues to change the rules of a return and act in collusion with 1-800-appliance, probably in hopes that we will simply throw in the towel, then at least we don't have to hear that horrible sound in the meantime. If they don't do the right thing and take back the fridge, then we will simply keep calling out a repairmen to "fix" the problem. We have three more years of our warranty, and if Lowes doesn't do the right thing, we will make them pay for this one way or another. Viva la revolucion!!

Lowes in Sarasota, Florida - I can't believe it

1.0
Details
I know most people won't believe this, but it is a true story. We, unfortunately, bought a refrigerator at Lowe's on Fruitville road. The fridge has been nothing but trouble. The latest: unwanted formation of icicles in the freezer. Since the unit is under warranty, a technician, one more time, was sent to look at the problem. 2 solutions were offered to us: remove some trim pieces in the freezer section and, get ready for this, put some caulk instead!!!!!!! And, it is not all, and then, use some kind of goo and apply it around the freezer section so the seal will "stick" better. But no worries, the goo is transparent.... Talked to Service Advantage, then a sometimes manager, sometimes assistant manager Brian, The Only Brian in the Fruitville store, who said I should be thankful for caulk and goo. If I was unwilling to have the unit "fixed" like it should be, then I should call the manufacturer. When ask if he would like to have a new refrigerator with caulk and goo, The Only Brian in the Fruitville store said if it is what it takes, then yes, he would have no problem with that. Same answer form Christine at Service Advantage: I don't see the big deal with caulk and goo. It is obvious, Lowe's DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL. And the employees, all level: THEY DO NOT CARE. Do yourself a favor, don't shop there...

Purchased electric water heater on 10/29/15. Could not afford their contractor price to install. Hired a relative. Reset button began tripping immediately. This went on for 2 weeks then breaker knocked and unable to get it to work. I went on vacation. Relative attempted to locate problem, resulting in calling manufacturer. Prompt to remove heating element. Element VERY old, totally corroded, split full length, corrosion consumed inside of pipe. I contacted lowes, explaining old element had been replaced in my ( supposing my) new tank. Lowes said I was to call Whirlpool, not their problem. Whirlpool reported def nothing they could have done. Reported on lowes Facebook page. Contacted by their rant and rave, reporting I would receive a call with allotted ant of time. Received call, their ONLY solution is to bring tank back and they will replace. I explained I cannot do this. I have no more money or man power. They sold me a tank that's either used, been altered from within their store or has been returned. Lowes should be more than willing to bring a new tank and install it.

Not so! Just like you said somebody did something but they have no idea whether or not it could have been you!

You did not have it service buy a company so in order to get another you must take the old one out and return it! Seems right and fair to me!

Lowes - Carpet Installation Review from Kennesaw, Georgia

I recently had carpet installed by Lowes, never again!!! The company they used as they sub contract out was Keller and the office people are horrible to communicate with. Once I got a date the installer showed up with no help and I had to re schedule after I left work to come home to take out all the electronics that I was not told I had to do, that was the stores fault. Once the installers left the next day I realized that they had not run the carpet under the base board in both corners in the back of the room as well as they had splashed glue on the bottom of my drapes which I know have to replace 4 windows !!!! God knows how much that will cost and I am waiting for a call from Keller who did the install !!!! Never use Lowes ever!!!

This is because the Keller company actually made half as much money as they would have if you had contracted directly with them. Lowe's keeps half of the contracted labor amount for themselves.

Of course the installer is going to rush the job and cut corners as much as possible!

And of course they are going to blame each other for the problems! Good luck.

Lowes in East Peoria, Illinois - Lowe's E. Peoria, IL Window Installation

2.0
Details
Four months ago I hired Lowes to install windows at my residence. The windows are still unfinished as of today. Four months ago I hired Lowes to install windows at my residence. The windows are still unfinished as of today. The installer came by on the date agreed to and installed the windows but not the metal exterior trim, saying you did not want that done. Of course I wanted it done, that is what I paid for! That was 4 months ago, I keep getting promised that it will be completed in two weeks. Every two weeks there is an "issue" as to why it can't be completed that day. Whn I ask why they can't finish my windows the very next day or day(s) I'm told that the schedule won't allow it and it will be another two weeks. Store manager won't move my date up on their schedule, I called corporate to make a complaint and was assured it would be resolved and I would be contacted in 24 hours. Four days later I called to find out what the status was, and was told the store closed it out (E. Peoria, Illinois) as I "agreed" to their resolution. They never called me, and now I've lost all faith that my windows will be completed as my "agreement" was a complete lie. I'd prefer not to have to sue over this but here I am 4 months later with a project that has been fully paid for there is no sight of it being completed.

Resolved: Lowes - Horrble Experience

I placed an order online with Lowe's for a store pickup. I was notified that all of my items were available for pickup so I went to the store to grab my items. Once I got there it took 1 hour for the associates to find all of my items, and nothing was organized at all. The associates had no idea what was going on. The customer service that I received while waiting was also ridiculous. I had my 2 year old son with me and they were not doing anything to try to speed the process up. If they say it is ready to be picked up, they need to have it ready to be picked up!
