Lowes - Riding Mower Review from Lawrenceville, Georgia

1.0
Details
Don't buy ANY extended warranty at Lowes. I have a riding mower that I can't get repair work done for over a month. I wasn't told I'd have to wait months for repairs when I bought this warranty. Home Depot gets my business now...and I've been a loyal and exclusive Lowe's customer for more than 15 years. Customer Service? NOT HARDLY!!!

Lowes review in Jacksonville, Florida: 3 Dryers, 4 Refrigerators, 5 Days off of work

I purchased all of my appliances from Lowes for my first home: Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Range and Microwave, all stainless steel. My fridge was on backorder for a month because it was a special order, which I totally understand. The rest of my appliances were delivered in April. I started using them all right away. I noticed that my dryer was taking 3 cycles to dry my clothes, so I called Lowes and they came out and replaced both my washer and dryer since the dryer I had just purchased was discontinued and I wanted to have matching brands. Well the new dryer they brought me was defective and I had to wait another day until they could get me a new one. My fridge finally arrived, however when it did it had huge dents all in the side, so I sent it back. Second fridge was supposed to come two weeks later but it was too damaged to deliver. Third fridge comes and this one had major scratches to where you could see the paint below and it was the first side you saw in my kitchen. Fourth fridge arrives in June and I finally have a fridge I can deal with. I had to *** 5 day of work, 1 for delivery, which I am totally fine with, but the other 4 were for things that were their fault. One of the managers said they even inspected the fridge before it left, but obviously not when it was delivered with major dents. This process took over 2 months and what did I get for spending a few thousand dollars with Lowes? A $300 discount off my fridge. The customer service I had experienced with Lowes was terrible. The manager was not returning my calls or emails for over 2 weeks, apparently she was out on medical leave, someone else should be responsible for those calls and emails. I will never purchase another appliance or housework from Lowes. It was a very stressful experience, especially for being a first time homebuyer.

Lowes review: Botched delivery and set up of new washer and dryer Lindale, Tx

Over the course of the past 5 yrs., we have remodeled our home from the ground up using only Lowe's Lindale as our go-to store. We have spent thousands upon thousands with several incidents which we forgave. This past weekend, we went ahead and purchased a new washer and dryer set to be delivered today 8/6/15. We were told that they would deliver after 2. p.m. When returning the delivery call, the young man immediately developed an attitude telling me "either I was first on the list or we would have to reschedule". I was not pleased nor was my significant other since this meant taking another day off work and sitting and waiting for the delivery. When the guy got there about 8:45, he proceeded to unload the washer and dryer and was supposed to take the old out and haul it off with him. He did not want to unhook the current hoses from the washer to install the new ones we bought and that was what we paid for at check out was delivery and set up. So, David (my significant other) says just forget it and we will get a refund and take our business elsewhwere and find someone who is willing to do the job that was given to them. They could have at least told us to unhook the water hoses to the washer to avoid missed work and complete upset and extra gas and time having to deal with a refund of merchandise that was paid for in hopes that they could follow thru with the task of delivery and set up. The guy did take the old dryer out and loaded it in the truck before David had decided to not do the transaction after all. The guy did not mind taking and picking up the change that fell out of the old dryer that he left sitting outside by our fence though. Way to go Lowe’s Lindale, TX. We will never be back in there. Sincerely disgruntled repetitive customer, Jynifer Tyndell and David Adams

Lowes review in New York, New York: Lowe's Racism, and Government Superpac support

3.4
Details
Many people are in denial, and are not affected by racism, that is a given, these individuals probably do not care anyway. Someone whom is a victim of it, will look for it, because they need to avoid it in order to maintain respect, dignity, and success, credit for their work. Don't expect to get the same credit, treatment or familiarity, lowe's workers share if they are white. Not to say, i am extremely social, that is not detriment to treating people fairly. I was slandered, stalked by police, framed, insulted on numerous occasions weekly for avoiding people. I am a minority, i was one of the few they keep around because Lowe's employs a quota. On a range of 50-200 employees for larger stores you will see a disproportionate number of minorities. Also when one leave, the hire rate is 100%, and drops back to 0% or close. Why?, because its a quota, while i have had many come and ask how i was hired there, who are minorities. I have had the companies values extend to my personal life and force me to quit, force me out of school, force me into submission by a agency that protects lowe's interests "Big'ol'gov'ena". I am now having blacklisting problems for medical care and job seeking in the area because i spoke about race, filed wokers compensation. The govrnment is supporting, endorsing white supremacy, and hate crime outside of legal bounds "extrajudicially", and plenty of privileged 1st class citizens jump at the opportunity to make a example out of a "minority". I have been called a number of things, and inside jokes between employees, this is suburbia, the rural areas that are the worst. The minority population is small and the KKK Dragon, headmasters live only 5 miles from the town, two in fact. This is New York, and when you complain about hate crime, to the point of confederate flags outside your home, before your forced to quit, NYS does nothing. It is a predominately white, italian area and a long list of white collar crime runs out of here under blindfolds. From 2012-ongoing, a form of illegal surveillance continues on behalf of the company, in order to discriminate and protect the company's interests. This involves defraud schemes set up to harass employees of color out of work. When i was forced to quit, and came back to the store shortly after, not on of the individuals i beleived to be involved would even look my direction or speak to me. This is a coy game of putting up the front, that they support equality, peoples personal interests are severely in the way of corporate policy. Most prejudice, employees, people in general, do not want to talk, hear, or see the perspective of a minority on racism. What they all share in common is, never having someone hold back your success, progress, options based on race, color, experience, and further add on the the list of stigma's by preventing your success. Many minorities are still and barely competitive "financially" and have been more concerned about a happy life. When you need a job, and every store, location, town and region is hiring you only on the basis that they have a quota to fill, the other employees know this. Customers know it, they see minorities as uneducated and complain about coming from poverty or segregated interests with whites who flee the minute "minority", becomes majority. I have a federal case for gross discrimination against Lowe's, i expect to see injustice and to be ignored for various reasons. The game being played is always, "i lived better, know more, or have more experience", therefore, you cannot question my opinion as a white citizen, manager, lawyer, ect. We all know what is right and wrong, problem is, most white citizens are willing to do wrong and injustice to minority groups, because its the behavior they thrive off of. Dishonesty, misleading business, holding evidence, truth, capitalism, extortion, inflation, price gouging, politicking, and using social conversation for levying interests. Who can a poor person compete, when they just want food on the table and move to a better job. The list goes on......its called suffrage and its thrown in our faces. My court date is still MIA, everything else seems to be severely put on hold, even medical care if interfered with.

Lowes review: Review in Installers category from Van Buren, Arkansas

1.7
Details
New and only job description at Lowe's should read: No experience - No friendly service needed - incompetence highly appreciated for management positions Tried to be neighborly and return some merchandise for an elderly person that got sold the wrong stuff in tge 1st place by one of the typical unknowlegeable employees at this store in van buren AR. Lady at customer service desk did not know how to process return - then Lee - apparantly one of the assistant store managers but wearing the " i'm in charge" blue vest insisted only the original purchaser can return merchandise (so never buy a gift for somebody at Lowe's- even if they dont like it they're stuck with it). Or maybe Lowe's should get a teacher to come in and teach Lee reading so he can actually read the company's return policy! But that would cost money and would require aperson with smarts in management to recognize the need! Their brains seem to be as empty as their aisles at this store - what a coincidence

Lowes review in West Palm Beach, Florida: Have a service contract for a GE refrigerator. For the past 4 years we have had the same mooing sound emanating from the freezer.

1.0
Details
Lowes decided that after contacting GE they would no longer honor our service contract, even though it is for five years, and we could no longer call re this problem. What a waste of money on a service contract and this shows very poor business practices on the part of Lowes. They do not return phone call and will not discuss the problem with us. They replaced the ice maker three times and also the fan. The problem has not been solved. We have had a lemon from the first day. GE has said , via Lowes that this is normal. The president of Lowes would take care of this if it was his refrigerator.

Lowes review in Duluth, Georgia: Paid up front for fencing job, but looks like I just bought a headache

I hired Lowe's for a fencing job (materials + labor installation + related cleanup). I paid all the money up front more than 1 month ago. They said it will take 2 weeks for the order to come in and for the job to be finished. They also said they would have professional installers and all the right equipment. 2 weeks passed by and nothing happened. It's been 6 weeks now and they just now delivered to me part of the materials (not even all). I have been calling customer service and Lowe's installation sales again and again. No answer. I kept calling the Lowe's agent/salesman that sold me the job. No answer. Just today (more than 6 weeks after I placed the order) 2 handymen from Lowe's came by and removed 2-3 sections of my old fence. Then they looked at the rest of the work that needed to be done and said "This is not the type of work we do," "We don't know how to do this." Etc. They didn't have any equipment with them. I asked them "where is your equipment?" They said, "It's too much money," And then they just left. They left the pieces that they removed - scattered in my yard - and they left my whole backyard exposed. Now I'm thinking I'm getting swindled by Lowe's. They are not professional contractors at all. I regret not going to The Home Depot or a professional fencing company. I spent all this money just to buy a headache from Lowe's - not a professional fencing job. If I had known this is the kind of service I was paying for, I would have thought twice. Thinking maybe I need to call a law attorney now. Will definitely be spreading the word about Lowe's terrible service.

Lowes Work Experience Review

My mother in law has been diagnosed with leukemia and has been admitted into moffitt cancer center in Tampa fla. I called and asked for a personal leave and was told by my HR manager I couldn't get it approved because there was a lot of work on my shift to be done. I thought lowes was about family. Well I guess not but I want to talk to someone other than the ones at my DC because this is unfair. I'm asking for personal because it's personal.

You may want to consider filing for the Family Medical Leave. Print the forms and take them to the doctor (or ask your HR for forms).

If you meet the employment criteria with Lowe's then you are eligible for the leave (up to twelve weeks a year, and Lowe's doesn't have to pay you for the time you're out, but at least they can't fire you or retaliate against you if you are out. I did this when my mother was sick, but it applies to in-laws too.

Lowes review in Ames, Iowa: Didn't honor there Extended Protection Plan

1.0
Details
Water heater went bad, lowes couldn't find any one to install or repair unit. They gave me a new unit and I had to install it my self. They emailed me that they pay me $355.10 for the buyout of my EPP plan. After months of waiting for the payment, they said they couldn't pay me because I not a contractor. The cost of hiring someone in my area to install a water heater runs around $700. The reason thier contractor refused to do the work was "They don't pay enough for me to do the work, I lose money so I stoped installing them"
