Lowes & Samsung get $, tell customer "get lost"

Purchased Samsung NX58h5600SS (CR recommended highly) from Lowe's November 2014. Not heavy users of oven, but we followed instructions closely and as per manual tried self-cleaning function in January 2015. This caused a streak inside oven door window and cracks / discoloration on bottom interior oven panel. Manufacturer-authorized technician replaced panel, took door apart, cleaned window. Self-clean in April 2015 resulted in >multiple< dark brown streaks inside door window, making it difficult to observe items being baked. Technician said Samsung considered defect "cosmetic", wouldn't authorize door replacement. Contacted Lowe's, they expressed supreme indifference, offered no help, gave us no contact information for Samsung, then rudely blew us off.

your problem isn't with lowes, its samsung or the warranty provider if you bought one.

if you didn't buy one, thats your problem and entirely on you after 30 days. not the reseller.

Lowes - Manager Review from East Lansing, Michigan

I buy kobalt tape measure's for their hassle free life time guarantee. Problem is that the store never has any in stock when I go to turn in broken one to get a new one. Today they had 20 empty hooks where the different kinds of kobalt tapes went. There was only 4 16' tapes and they were out every other kind of kolbalt tapes. Talked to store manager, he responded that I was lying about the store being out of the kobalt tapes. We walked to the empty racks and he said he will have to order more and if I want my hassle free guarantee for me to drive hour away to the closest Lowe's. I have used kobalt tapes for years, as I am a carpenter, and will never use a Lowe's store ever again because of this unprofessional service and the undervaluing of me the customer. All I wanted was for them to stand by their guarantee. The manager should have given me any 25' tape measure I wanted that they had in stock until they could exchange the kobalt.

Complete clusterf.... from beginning to end. Supposed to get a call within 48 hours after purchase from the subcontractor United Marble and Granite - had to call them after a week. Finally get scheduled for measurement, guy uses laser measurement, sees and measures sink, then installers come out two weeks later and say they can't use this same sink....and go away....and don't hear from anyone....and (again) perform customer (self) service by contacting them. Contractor tries all sorts of variations on somehow it's our fault. The best (worst) part of all this is they left a small piece of counter at the house and I noticed it wasn't cut square. I couldn't get anyone to answer why it wasn't cut square. Finally after 4 weeks of pathetic and apathetic responses from Lowes I just packed it in and asked for a refund, which took another two weeks. Later when I made a complaint to Lowes Customer Service they said they'd call within 48 hours to discuss. 4 days later I received an e-mail from the local Lowes - an e-mail that neither addressed me by name or apologized - basically a “this concludes our business” letter. This after they claimed "world class customer service". I used to always go to Lowes, now I never go to Lowes - even though it's the closest of that type store. Never will again.

I ordered a fridge ( paid in full) I was told it will take one week to deliver, and someone will call me prior to the delivery to confirm it ,the week passed and no one called ,so i went to the store to check the status i was told it will take few more days,what's a few days exactly means no one knows when it will be delivered,but the other color of the same item is available for immediate del. 1 to 3 days ,i agreed, then the agent asked me to go the front to make the changes.At my surprise they will not do it unless i bring the original receipt ,i showed them my ID my credit card that i used and could not do it even the store mgr refused to do it without the receipt and you could see my name and address on their system, So i went back home got the receipt and back to the store to get my refund back .I end up going to a local smaller store (new england app.) to purchase te same item for a little more but excellent attitude and costumer service.

Lowes - Installation Review from Swedesboro, New Jersey

I purchased carpet/runner for my new home and it was to be installed in two separate visits. The carpet was installed without issue however the runner installation has become a DISASTER. The 3rd party installers called my husband to schedule installation for Thurs June 11 from 2-5pm. By 3 pm no one had arrived and my husband called the installers and they were closed. At 5 pm my husband called Lowes and was told he would be called back. When he was called back he was told they were an hour late (would be there at 6pm). No one called to tell us this before and we had to pick up our kids from school so could not wait for the installers. My husband is in sales so if he is not working he is not making money and he took off 3 hours to sit and wait as schedules for the installers who never called to say they were late. I came home early from work (and also had to lose money for leaving early to deal with this and get my kids), and spent 45 minutes trying to speak to someone at Lowes to find out what was going on. I was disconnected 3x before I spoke to a person. When I finally spoke to someone I was told that the installers were now running even later and could be there 6:45. I was asked what solution was acceptable and I told them that I was not willing to have my husband wait another 3 hours for installers and that I would need someone to come back with a tighter window and I would want compensation for my time wasted. I was told that someone from the install co. would call me the very next day at 8am (the owner) to reschedule and to offer me compensation. The next day (today) as promised, the owner called me and tried to reschedule for today (Fri), barely apologized for the fact that his installers were running 3 hours late and tried to tell me that they did call to say they were late. Which is a LIE. Neither my husband or I heard from anyone about anything and would not have known they were even late if we hadn't called ourselves. And then of course, he did not offer compensation. I called Lowes immediately and spoke to an assistant Mgr who attempted to resolve this and I then received more calls from install trying to schedule today which I declined and still no offer from anyone for compensation. I then received another call from a different Lowes asst mgr to tell me the best they can do is offer a measly $100 cash payout for my time. My runner was $800!. End result I cancelled the runner. This is too much frustration and too much time wasted. I don't want that lying install co back in my house after the rude treatment I received, nor do I want to do business with Lowes flooring any longer. The time my husband and I wasted dealing with this nonsense yesterday and today is worth more than $100... LOWE'S... SHAME ON YOU!

I had a sales person come to my house for a fence estimate. It was a great price and seemed to good to be true. Until, the process started. Once they charged my card, they ordered the fence. They claimed it was special ordered and would take at the end of May to receive the parts. Keep in mind this is a normal chain link fence. Then, they deliver this and the contractor rescheduled numerous times. This place a joke! First payment and my fence is not installed. Avoid all projects if possible! Lowes in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Three attempts to purchase an exterior door. Still unsuccessful, gave up.

Mid May 2015, I attempted to pick out a door for installation at my home from Lowe’s on Military Hwy in Norfolk, VA. Cannot pick out door until home is measured. $51 fee charged for measurement. Paid fee, informed someone will contact me in 3 days. 5 days later, I find a business card stuck to my door, while I was home, from a “handyman service”. I don’t know if this was the Lowes installer or not. Contact store, received an apology, and asked to try the process again. I decline. Called corporate office with my complaint. Store calls, will waive measurement fee if I’ll attempt the purchase again. I agree. Contractor arrived, writes up labor quote and submits to store. Store calls with a quote, and I have not yet picked out a door model. Lowe’s employee is short with me, stating, “fine, come in a pick out a door”. Today, I arrive at store to pick out a door, and cannot get anyone to help. Gave up waiting and went to customer service to speak with manager. Spent another 20 minutes waiting to speak with a manager, who never appears. Drove back to work, and called corporate office. Corporate office patches me through to the Lowe’s manager. Now the manager that I stood around waiting to talk to in the store is available if you have corporate office make the call for you. Corporate office asked me if there is another Lowe’s store in the area that I can go to. Sure, but why bother? Plenty of Home Depot stores in VA too. If you need a product that must be measured, or installed, buy the part from another hardware store, and contract the installation yourself. Save yourself the aggravation I’ve experienced. Avoid installation services from Lowe’s.

Went in yo buy some sprinkler parts couldnt find what i needed. Walked for 10 minutes to find someone to help me. Theytried to call someone to help me but his phone wouldnt work. He said he would get someone to isle 42. Waited 20 minutes still no help. Walked up main isle run into same guy, asked him if he got someone to help me he said no but when he finished with present customer. I walked out the door and went to your competor took 2 minutes to get what i needed. Wont ve going back to lowes. They can spend millions on race teams but cant keep more than 1 checkstand open or have knowledgable people on. 1 28 april go lowes to purchase a Stove top and oven. The salesman tells me the kitchen needs to be measured to insure the pieces will fit. 2 The kitchen does not get measured for 10 days. 3 The equipment does not arrive in seattle until May 28. 4 The store calls and tells me it can't be delivered until June 27. 5 Contact the salesman. He calls me back and tells me getting a better date is above his pay grade. 6 I call the store 252 manager. He refers the problem to a person who has english as a second language. He tells me he will fix it. He has a subordinate call me to tell me I am out of luck. 7 I cancel the order. 8 Every employee with the exception of the salesman has no customer skills.

Paid Lowes $11, 000 for cracked granite countertops and blinds that will not stay open and a backsplash that was never installed. Their rep stated the countertop had been repaired before it was installed. Cannot get them to return my calls.
