*** poor treatment for veterans

have to sign up with Lowes with all their *** emails, phone number etc. to get a whopping 10% veterans discount. Can't just show my va disability card with my picture and disability rating like I can at Home Depot. Home Depot is head and shoulders above this *** business in customer service, pricing and knowledge of products. gody bye to lowes. Never been treated so *** as they did telling me I had to verify through some *** website, my military service. {{Redacted}}!!!!!!!!! I HAVE A DISABILITY CARD FROM THE VA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When in basic training did they ever tell you that once your out you’re supposed to act like self entitled dill holes? Great!! At some point in your life you performed a dangerous job. So what!!

The police perform their dangerous job everyday. You don’t see ex cops on site like this whining about a discount. Here’s a better example. Linemen who provide you the electricity you are using get no discount and if they make a mistake it can be their last.

This is somewhat Ironic - you credit his service but dismiss it in the same breath. It's apparent you've never served, especially when overstating the occupational hazards of a lineman or a police officer - give me a break.

Have you ever consider how this might put older vets at a disadvantage? Nah, you lack perspective just as the man you criticize.While this individual might not of handled it in best manner, the bottom line is that Lowe's is forcing him to provide them PII, which is then provide to a third party, who is suppose to "verify" his service. Without going into the specifics, it is NOT a good idea to provide Lowe's or any other entity with PII (personal identifiable information).

Lowe's databases are a soft target for adversaries, and could inadvertently put veterans and their information at risk. The risk isn't work the 10%, and if Lowe's really valued veterans, they would align with Home Depot's approach, and not force them to choose.

Yet another vet crying about a discount. You obviously haven't looked at the complaints from vets about Home Depot or Menards.

There is absolutely nothing that requires any store to give you a discount. When they do offer a discount you should appreciate it and comply with their requirements for receiving the discount.

There are plenty of other people just as deserving of a discount that aren't offered one. It's obvious that you don't think 10% is much of a discount so why are you making such a big deal of it anyway?

2015 I were hired Lowe's Home Improvement installed siding, windows and gutter; It cost me $40,000. Last year I have observed that my ceiling was stain I have no clue what is happen now the ceiling paint peel and water drops on windows and floor so I have to go up attic to check where it leaks I have observed that is *** from nail full out cause by the installing guy were nail on roof to hold the scaffolding during they install siding and windows when they remove the scaffolding they forget caulk the roof so over time the shingle expanse that why it takes longer to see it leaks when I up the attic I had observed that other side of house has a nest of bird I did not why I had keep looking you get what I had find out the holes other side of the house when they had removed old siding it was tear off the install inside when they replaced the new siding but it is not go all the way up to the roof so they had leaved the holes they also not replace the soffit. I am a handy man usually I haven't call to complaint because my house is too high and the roof was a straight I have went up to the roof but barely to walk it is sliding. My neighbor told me that to call Lowes don't kill yourself so I have make a phone call to installation department on Monday 8/7/2017 one of the worker answer my phone call his name is David you know what is told me I am apologize the labor warranty only one year so my warranty is over nothing he can help me we talk back and forth about 5 minutes but the problem still the same so he had switched to his supervisor his name is Mike so the problem is not be solve he had said the same thing my apologize the labor warranty only one year; He keep repeat over and over like a record about 15 minutes. I have given him a last chance to solve my problem. He said that he can't do it I have said that this conversation is over and I hang up. In my situation a leaking will take over year to see it leaks and the missing siding no way I can see from the ground. My BIG QUESTION FOR LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT why I have to hire you. You go out to hire another contractor we do not know them so we liable on Lowe's to behind your customer now I have stuck with one year labor warranty so you can hire the contractor do lousy job. Nothing can fall down and go bad in one year. I am so disappoint on Lowe's because I expect on Lowe's too much now on all my project never and ever go to Lowe's I will tell my all friend and my customer do not use installation from Lowe's.

The most horrible service for credit cards. I cannot descrie how awful they treated me and they just do not respect their clients. Horrible all around -do yourself a favor and simply use their competitors. You will save yourself hours of aggravation.

What a poor complaint? Is your complaint about the process of using a credit card at Lowes or is it about the card itself.

If it is about the card you are complaining in the wrong place.

Lowes has nothing to to with your credit account other than accepting the card as a form of payment. If you are going to post a complaint tell the story of what your problem is.

Lowe's does not issue credit cards. They accept cards issued from Synchrony Bank that have a Lowe's logo printed on the front of them.

Your problem is with a bank.

But it was probably your fault anyway, let's be real. Let me guess, you missed a payment and they had the nerve to charge you a late fee?

Lowe’s has poor customer Service

I paid Lowe’s $18k to install a Treks Deck. They were very responsive prior to my signing the contract and their clearing my check. The issues be an shortly after. The installer had poor communication and Lowe’s Project Manager and Store were completely clueless in how to respond to me as a customer. I to this day have issues with the deck and have asked them back to resolve. I will give them a few more days before I have my lawyer take charge and hall theor sorry assets to court.

I have given Lowe’s more than enough chances to prove themselves but honestly the Lowe’s in Conway, Ar has the worst customer service of any company I have seen. None of the employees ask if you need help. When you ask for help it’s like you are inconveniencing them. They have time to stand around and talk to one another though. You’ve lost my business due to the poor customer service you provide your customers. Very disappointing. Management really needs to come into this store and fire everyone and hire employees who are there to do their job and serve your customers.

You are shopping at a big box self service store. Ask for help if you need it.

If you want a store that provides service try Ace for hardware or local lumber yards or appliance stores. Sure you will pay more at these stores but they have to pay to cover the extra staff and quality sales people.

A full refund for the washing machine. I had emailed the CEO of Lowes and received a call from one of his assistants and she took care of it all.

The check came today so the company did do what they said. Just the protection plan people that were stonewalling me.

I bought a GE Washer and Dryer in August 2016 since then it has constantly not spun the clothes out. I called the protection plan and they have send 4 different technicians out and no one has fixed as yet. The latest one was out of Clarksville,Tn AV Repair Specialist who came out and listen to the washer but did not test anything. He said he would order a new motherboard and a sensor along with a valve. He gave me a paper with the companies phone numbers which no one answers. My last contact with the protection plan people was a disgrace as the supervisor was nasty. I have contacted the BBB but doubt if anything will come of that. I have to go buy a new washer as we have been without now a month.

Lumber Aisle

The Hamburg, Pa store needs to open thier lumber aisle. I was there Friday at 4ish, it was closed. Came back at 6:30 or so and it was still closed. Went there Sunday morning and it was still closed. Parked my cart with other items in it and left. Tried 3 times to spend money at this store this weekend, 3 times i left pssied off. Can't believe they have there lumber yard closed on a weekend. Off to Home Depot.

Advertising Sale Price for Blinds: main page displays allan roth Light Filtering 24"x 36" shades at 30% off for $39.19. When you click on the picture the shade price still advertises $30.19. When you click on customize and buy, the price changes to $85.38 per shade. I called Lowe's and was told to "drill down" into the shopping process to find the shade size that matches the advertised price of $30.19. That shade size in 9"x12". This is a clear bait and switch. The main page advertises 24"x 36" allen roth light filtering shades as $39.19 ea but the actual check out price is $85.38 ea for that size. After doing two home remodels and all of my appliance purchases at Lowe's I've seen their customer service and advertising tactics decline in recent years. Time to take my business elsewhere.

Blinds are always advertised for the smallest available size. Do you think anyone would be attracted to the sale if they advertised the largest size available when their competitors advertise the smallest?

These advertisements are not created in a vacuum people! These people know the laws and abide by them pretty well.

If they didn't they would be shut down by the legal system pretty quickly. A mis-understanding by you is not a bait & switch tactic by Lowe's.

Legal and ethical are not the same thing. Their advertising tactics are, by definition, are a bait and switch maneuver.

Nowhere in the advertisement does it state that the size of the blind connected to the posted sale price is the smallest blind available. In fact, the size posted that is connected to the sale price is a much larger blind. The service person on the phone couldn't even figure out why the pricing didn't match. He was as confused as I until his supervisor explained the "drill down" step that needed to happen.

This predatory sales technique is only changed by challenging the action.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

ON MARCH 7, 2018 I PURCHASED SOME ITEMS ON-LINE, WHEN I RECEIVED MY ORDER 1 ITEM (10 EACH ) OF THE SAME ITEM WERE WRONG. THEY CAME IN FROM DIFFERENT STATES TO COMPLETE THE ORDER. AFTER I MADE DOUBLE SURE OF WHAT I WAS ORDERING AND HAD IT SHIPPED 2ND DAY. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT THE WRONG ITEMS ORDERED LOWE'S TOLD ME TO RETURN THE WRONG ITEMS TO A CLOSE STORE. THE CLOSE STORES IN MY AREA DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO COMPLETE MY ORDER AND THEY STILL DON'T AND ON TOP OF THAT LOWE'S HAS ONE ITEM NUMBER FOR 2 DIFFERENT ITEMS. THAT'S NOT MY FAULT, I ORDERED WHAT I THOUGHT ( ACCORDING TO THERE ITEM NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION ) WAS THE CORRECT ITEMS, THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER 12 NOON, BUT I WAS ON THE PHONE TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO PERSON FROM 11:00AM WHEN I RECEIVED THE ORDER TILL 12:00 ONCE AGAIN NOT MY FAULT. NOW YOU WANT ME TO RETURN THE WRONG MATERIAL TO A NEAR BY STORE AND STILL NOT HAVE THE WHAT I ORDER AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. Military discount LIE

I have always been given a military discount until today. Lowes now requires registration AND that personnel MUST give over personal info...even if they do not want to. What they have now is NOT a discount but the capture of info to sell and use as they wish. Will be referring to Lowes as Facebook jr. AND will no longer shop there. Military should not allow these places to cheat them...sell their info...or allow the compromise of personal info (they "cannot be held accountable".

there is no selling of info. all they do is check your credentials, mark that they checked it and it has you verified. it does not store any info.

I guess it's been a while since you shopped there, not a steady customer anyway. They went to a new system to verify who actually qualifies for the vet discount and prevent fraudulent use of the discount.

There is nothing that says any store is required to give you a discount. If you don't like their system don't use it. Be grateful when a discount is offered as there is none at a lot of stores.

It's too bad to see so many vets cry about the lack of a discount or what they need to do to get one. There are a lot of people equally deserving of a discount that aren't offered one.

The procedure to get qualified is quiet simple. When you are qualified, this carries over to online purchases.

I do not have knowledge of selling list, however providing your address or email basically creates a customer data base.I appreciate the discount, as I am sure other veterans do. You choice is to participate or not.

Poorly made laundry room sink for $229.00

Purchased a laundry room sink for a property. Installed and in less than a month, the cold side faucet broke off. The cartridge broke (plastic part) and Lowes advised to call the manufacturer in Canada. Called, gave them the proper information and it took a week to get the replacement part which came in with no instructions. Fortunately, I am a DIYer and after some investigation, figured out how to install and tighten with an allen wrench (not everyone will have the correct size). The "fix" does not make me feel happy with only a one year warranty. This is a POS and I would not give anyone a recommendation to buy one of these. I will try to get Lowes to take it back and come install a proper one !!! Very disappointing purchase and I am a 29 year Lowes consumer..

I purchased a kitchen faucet from Loews in Schererville in on 12/16 installed it the same day. The faucet was leaking so I returned it a couple days later at a different location Merrillville in. I went to customer service with the new faucet and I misplaced my receipt so I was informed I couldn’t use my drivers license for this fair exchange and the card I used wasn’t coming up in their system so the lady told me I had to go back to the store in Schererville and they would be able to help me because there was nothing she could do for me. I asked her isn’t all Lowe’s are the same so why would I have to go back to the store I originally purchased it at? She then calls the store mananger and he comes up and ask her if she tried my I’d and she gave him a look as to say don’t use her I’d. She needs her receipt. He then take a look at the faucet and ask why am I returning it? He then goes to look at it with a frown on his face and asks am I sure I only had it for a couple days because it looks old and their products doesn’t have a defect in it and this is the first he heard of that and there was nothing they could do for me without a receipt. I then tell him to use my bank card. By that time I pulled up my online banking app and showed him my transaction at Lowe’s from 12/26. He then tell me I could have bought any thing at Loews for that much all he know and there’s nothing this store can do for me without a receipt. So I walked out with tears steaming on my face and I called Lowe’s customer service. The customer service rep was very helpful and she was able to pull up my receipt instantly so I turned my car back around, went back in the store for the third time and gave the girl desi my phone and got the problem resolved. I’m not understanding why I wasn’t able to use my Id for a fair exchange? And why wasn’t my card registering cause that was the card I used at the time? And why was I treated so unfairly? The faucet was only 245.00. It’s not like I was asking for money back or exchanging something for thousands of dollars? I would never step foot in that store again and I’m not gonna stop with my Storey of unfairness. I will be contacting the bbb to let them know how I was treated and I couldn’t use my Id for this fair exchange

You have to have a receipt. That is the law.

Any other attempts to get you a refund were done as a courtesy by Lowe's. This is to keep people from trying to steal from them and rip them off.

They get kind of nasty when people try to return items without a receipt because it happens many times a day and those people are trying to steal from them. And no, they are under no obligation by law to provide you with a copy of any receipt.

we tried to order from Lowes online and were told six or seven times someone would call us no on ever did, the e-mail called customer care really sucks no one from Lowes ever called, my Wife called them to check on our delivery and the guy on the phone got her number and said he would check and call right back, never happened so I guess Lowes just doesn't want our business oh well others do it was been two weeks waiting to hear from them with no word at all we wasted 4 days waiting for them and trying to call them is ridiculous they either don't answer don't know what they are talking about or take your number them never call

Lowe's - Still Waiting 11+ Weeks For Flooring & Answers

11 weeks since the day I paid $7000+ for new flooring...and the job has yet to be completed. Local Lowe's management actually hides from me when I come into the store to try and find out any updates. The local Lowe's and Lowe's corp will not acknowledge or dispute my assertion that I was duped into buying more flooring product, more flooring installation products and labor/installation charges than were actually needed. A long standing BBB complaint is still active against Lowe's corp...and every 2 weeks they try to get me and the BBB to close the complaint, while only stating..."...the matter is still pending...". In addition a complaint has been opened with the Texas State Attorney Generals, Consumer Protection division, for price gouging...in association with flooding as a result of hurricane Harvey. My multiple requests for a meeting with: the local Lowe's management, the flooring contractor, the flooring sub-contractor, Lowe's area and district management, and the corp division of Lowe's that hires their contractors...have all been ignored. In addition, my multiple requests for a detailed accounting of the floor product costs, flooring product installation costs, and labor/installation costs...have all been ignored. Lowe's has blocked me from their corp FaceBook page (Lowe's Home Improvement)...and deleted all posts, comments and replies, made by me regarding my situation and dealings with Lowe's...local and corp (North Carolina). On their corp FB page there is a "Rant or Rave" section where customers can voice their complaints...as of today...they have deleted 4 of my RANT's...(I have posted a total of 15 RANT's)...and their official FB reply to all have been.."...we have forwarded your comments to your case manager..." Have been walking on cold bare concrete floors 11 weeks before Christmas 2017...and I am celebrating the new year, 2018, by still walking on cold bare concrete floors.
