First they said it was a two day project that turned into a week long project that actually over a month later is still not done. They also said they would be in contact from start to finish and I was never contacted. I came home one day and my driveway was blocked with materials then a few days later they just showed up to start work didn't even call first. The gate latch on the walk thru gate is already falling off, one of the boards is too short leaving a gap at the top and they never finished the custom gate on the motorhome side. No latch, no wheels they just attached the old wheel from the old gate and it just drags on the ground and there is no way to keep it closed. For something that cost almost $14,000 it was a really *** job!

For the amount of money you spent on the fence you would be best served by contacting an attorney for a free consult to see what you can do. Since you apparently contracted thru Lowe's, it is up to them to provide a quality product and a proper construction.

I expect the sub contractor(s) they hired to do the job were at fault, but that's Lowe's problem. A good attorney can help you make things right, altho you will have to pay him.

However, you can also ask for attorney fees, etc. The sub contractor most likely has nothing but Lowe's does and should be on the hook.

Can't get carpet installation number from store

I purchased carpeting for LR, Hall, Master Bedroom, Closets, TV Room....big rooms. Put off installation due to having problems getting tile installed first. Now, they will not call me back with the number for installation. I am screaming mad at this point, and they give me a front end manager who is checking people out then cut me off (not because I was mad), just cut me off. Then an assistant manager spends time balling me out instead of getting me the number. Pathetic customer service! Now you want at least 100 words. This is insane! Won't be doing business there again. {{Redacted}}

Poor customer service

Have gone to a new Lowes Store in Wildwood The Villages. Very unprofessional employees. Groups of young folks hanging around talking and on their phones. None of them pay attention to you. If they can't even make eye contact how can they ask if you need assistance. Then there were a couple of older guys down my tools that were yucking it up, so was probably not work related. Could NOT get anyone to help me. This was during the week of the soft opening, but really, to be ignored. God forbid I need assistance. Yes, I am a senior and if I had shown that type of "dedication" in my first jobs I would have been out the door. Going to drive a little further to the Lowes on the old side of town or more than likely, Home Depot.

You are shopping in a big box store, not a full service lumberyard or hardware store. They aren't going to ask you if you need help, you need to ask them for help if you need it.

You also stated it was during their soft opening which means that you are looking at a bunch of new hires that probably know less about what you are looking for than you do. If you are looking for great service stay out of the big box stores and keep to the local hardware stores and lumberyards.

Be careful!

I am retired and have to split my payments up during the month, between myself and my husband who is also on a fixed income. I didn't understand about the billing periods. Just thought as long as I made the total payment before the due date, that was sufficient. Because they said I didn't make a $40.00 payment during the billing period, they charged me an extra $100.00. I had already paid $100.00 and had set up the $40.00 online to be paid before the due date. So I just had to put off other necessities to pay them $240.00 or be charged another big fee. I am going to find a way to pay them off and close the account!

don't worry they will close the account for you without their so called notice that never ever arrives.

There is such a thing as making a payment too soon. If you made the payment after the previous due date but before the end of the billing period (usually a few days apart) your payment would have been credited to the previous billing period and show no payment was made for the current period.

It can't possibly get any worse

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In 69 years of life, I've never ever experienced customer service (if I dare to call it that) as poor as Lowe's. This branch was in Manchester, N. J. They sold me a refrigerator they didn't have in stock and weren't able to get for two weeks. I decided to deal with the inconvenience, but that was only the beginning. Long, long, long, long story short, I ended up screaming like a little boy at the general manager, assistant manager, appliance department manager and the delivery manager. No doubt I've lost a year of my life. Every one of them dropped the ball and would never return a call. Complete and total apathy. Nothing but lies and false promises from all of them. After suffering without a refrigerator for almost three weeks, they had me by more short hairs. I had to settle for a unit I didn't want and didn't initially purchase and never got so much as an apology from anyone. This is only the gist of a nightmare. I ended up with a (dented fridge), scratched door jams, scratched door casings and a chipped wall inside my house. At that point, I turned to the delivery (boys) and told them to leave the fridge and I would install it and hook up the ice maker. Just get the *** out of my house! Stay away from Lowe's. Talk around and you'll find a lot of pissed off people. I am now a Home Depot customer and find them far more helpful, responsible and pleasant. Do as you please! It's your journey.

Disagree. While there's no doubt that Home Depot fails at times, Home Depot has the business structure to actively deal with and address their failures.

From phone systems to call center infrastructure to training to a well crafted desire to create a positive customer experience, Home Depot has Lowe's beat hands down. Everyone (and every firm) makes mistakes and bad decisions. Everyone (and every firm) has a bad day or two. Nobody is perfect.

It is how those failures are addressed that makes the difference. Lowe's hasn't gotten there (yet?).

Lowe's rebate is a joke.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I submitted a rebate the day that I bought 3 appliances. When I checked the status, it says "non-compliance sent". I have no idea what that means.... I would never buy so much as a screw from Lowes after the headache of buying appliances there. It has been nothing but a complete frustration.... They tried to deliver the refrigerator to the wrong address. When I told them that they were at the wrong place they were extremely rude and told me that I had to re-schedule the delivery as if I had done something wrong. I paid for installation, but a month later I am still trying to get that done.

Empty Promises

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I ordered three windows and after several months of empty promises my windows were installed. I was promised a three hundred dollar compensation mid way thru the experience. After two months the windows were ordered wrong causing me to patiently wait while the windows were reordered. during the process I was promised a compensation for my pain and suffering only if Lowes was permitted to fix the issue. After several additional weeks of waiting the windows sat in my yard waiting for the installation. Here is the kicker the regional manager being aware of my issue called asking how I liked my new windows, all awhile they were sitting in my yard. after the windows were installed I was asked to sign away my right to seek a claim if the windows leaked before my promised compensation was awarded some deal. I as promised will never use Lowes again and I'm going out of my way to see that none of my associates do either. Over 4500.00 spent at Home Depot and growing.

What is the store policy on bringing dogs into the store? Everytime we are in there someone has their pet dog along. This is not Petco!!! Leave them at home!

You know the funny part about the OP’s whine fest? Every time I see an pet in a store I see people flock to it to give it a petting.

Animals by their very presence can have an uplifting effect on people’s moods and change a *** attitude around. We can see you didn’t pet the animal by your attitude. Lowe’s isn’t a grocery store so the ONLY issue is your pisspoor complaint. Get over yourself buddy!!

It’s better to have them bring the animal inside then leave it to get stolen of killed by overheating. What is also obvious is you don’t like animals. YOU think they are lesser creatures and YOU think you are better then them. Typical of the American thought process.

Was a employee petting the animal instead of assisting YOU? I have had many animals in my store(electronics) and as stated by another person, I would rather have a giant dog in my store then peoples children. You have to watch a animal closely. I wish parents would watch their kids as well as the people watch their animals.

If a dog urinated on my floor it wasn’t as big of a deal as say some parent letting their three hellions run around breaking items. The pet owner would apologize, we have a good laugh, pet owner cleans up the mess. Do you think the parents of those children have EVER paid for what their children have broken or stolen? No, the parents blame the business because their children are running rampant around the store.

As if the parents will listen even 25% of what the pet owner does. Lighten up jerk, it’s a animal and not a bazooka. Just stop. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Intolerance even over a simple pet is way too much. Save that anger until you really need it and stop bashing people who are MORE responsible then 80% of the parents out there. The pet owners are more responsible then you for one simple fact. They didn’t come on a site and bash a company for trying to cater to everyone.

Are you going to tell us next which colored people are allowed to enter the store while YOU are there next?

Perhaps you will swing your giant club of ignorance at women in hardware stores as well. Fascist.

Guest

Lowe's is and will always be pet friendly.

IF YOU choose to read, there is by law a posted sign on both front entry and exit doors that indicate, that this is a Animal positive retail store.

Pets are to be leashed, and well behaved.

Pets, dont steal.

Pets, dont damage product.

Pets, dont yell at hourly associates. These are things that people do.

Guest

I'd rather see a well behaved pet in a store than an ill behaved child. I haven't seen a pet in a store that wasn't under control of it's owner.

On the other hand I've seen plenty of children running around stores screaming and playing around while their parents ignore them. Should stores ban children as well?

Dishwasher repair

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bosch dishwasher died in 3 years. Called for service to Lowes. Gave serial number and model number. Informed part is covered but need to pay for labor. Set time - a 4 hour window. Service repair showed up at 3 1/2 hours into the window and in 30 seconds informed me he does not repair Bosch dishwashers. Called to Lowes to complain about wasted time and bad information. Mirella (Customer Care) and Sierra (service) did not care and saif they could do nothing for me. Closed the call with have a nice day. Will NEVER do business with Lowes ever and will go out of my way to bad mouth their bad service and inept employees. I hope they go out of business.

Must reg as a vet for discount

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
in a Lowes store yesterday to buy 2 led shop lights, ($100) showed my VA health card as always and was told I had to be in their data base to see customer service. The conversation ended after name , branch of svc, date of birth, stopped the girl and asked her for the exact info for my data base, surprise she got offended. Went to Home Depot right down the street in, out, got the same discount for the same lights and everybody was happy. I will never return and will bad mouth them every chance I get.

I'm guessing the people you will bad mouth them to either know you and don't really care about what you have to say or you post on places like this where you're automatically read like a book.

Yet another entitled vet crying about discounts. You should be thankful when a store makes a discount available.

There are a lot of deserving people out there that don't get one. If you don't like the fact that they verify the fact that you are the vet you say you are there must be something you are hiding.

Lowe's Firing

I have been on Work Release for a Work Related Incident resulting in me having Knee Replacement and Back Surgery. I expressed my situation and problems to the store manager regarding service from the very store I was working for and shortly I found my self Terminated from my 401K Holder but Lowe's never notified me I was terminated nor was I ever notified I was released from Work Release. I called the Corporate Office in North Carolina and they did nothing. My Suggestion, Find a Company that Respects and Protects their Employees and look for a better Company and don't deal with Lowe's.

What are you going to do when your appliances quit working if you are not going to buy another appliance? Appliance manufacturers, like auto manufacturers have a warranty that will repair a product with defects not replace them.

I purchased a car in 1974 that got towed to the dealer every morning for 2 weeks, they finally decided to replace the engine which took a month. I'm sure glad i didn't swear off buying cars because of that experience.

Sometimes things go wrong with products. Fortunately the warranties take care of fixing them even if the repair is an inconvenience.
