Buy Your Carpet Elsewhere

A few weeks ago we ordered carpet from Lowe's. When we got home, we checked the receipt as the price just didn't seem right. They overcharged us on the padding by a few hundred dollars. Went back to Lowe's and had them readjust the price to what it should have been. No "sorries", no apologies, nothing. Today, the carpet was to be installed. My wife sat home from 8 am until noon like she was supposed to. Nothing - never showed. Called Lowe's and they don't know what happened - the installers never picked up our carpet. They are supposed to get back to us. So, to sum it up: 1. They overcharged us by hundreds of $$$. 2. Did not apologize for overcharging us. 3. Did not show up to install it. 4. Wasted 4 hours of our time so far.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll buy from a real carpet store and get better customer service. But wait? There are no real carpet stores anymore!

Lowe's and Home depot put them all out of business with their cheaper prices! Now what?

Poor customer service

On Jan. 4, 2018 my husband and I were in Lynnwood Lowes in Washington. We were shopping for a range and range hood. There was an associate standing at the desk, he did not even aknowledge that we were there let alone offer us help. After waiting for approximarely 20 minutes for help we left. We went to Home Depot and were greeted immediately. We purchased our appliances from Home Depot and we will never shop in Lowes again!

Still wating for a delivery at 6PM that was scheduled for between 1 -3 Both Lowe"s and the delivery company put me on hold for ever with no results.

Happening now. Still no reply from Lowe's. I have removed the old appliances so I am stuck. The 3 numbers for the delivery company all had the same recorded message but finally got a call back asking how the delivery went but there was no delivery. They said they will look into it. Still have heard nothing. This is in NYC but there should be some quality control over this by Lowe's. I will probably not deal with them again. Just got a call 5;12 from the delivery company they need to check if the order was loaded. I was given a delivery window of 1-3PM by the Same delivery company!!

We went into the Lowe's in Howell MI to purchase a kitchen sink and garbage disposal. The salesman that helped us told us that he would print up of what we wanted installed and said someone we contact us in 48 hrs. He gave us the paper work and we asked him several times if there was anything we needed to pay for and he told us no. So 48 hrs are up and no call , so we place a call to Lowe's and they tell us it is because we did not pay the $35.00 we then told them no one mentioned anything about $35.00. So we go back and then speak to a manager who insists that we can still have it installed before Thanksgiving, as of today after numerous phone calls to Lowe's we still do not have the items installed. Manager of the store was rude and not willing to help us. Very poor customer service. Will not be shopping there anymore. We even tried called their corporate office and they just keep you on hold for 45 mins.

went to lowes to buy kitchen package the one in the add was on back order so we ordered another package when it came in they did not call us so drove down to check on when it would arrive some of it was in we told them when we ordered that the fridge did not stay shut this is why we were getting a new one the said delivery would be on Christmas Eve told them this would not work we would do it on the 26th wanted to go to church Christmas Eve on delivery on the 26th they said they would deliver on Saturday in the afternoon between 1/5 Saturday i took everything out unhooked the stove etc went out side to shovel the snow sign on door we were here 8:45 called store they might delivery after 5:00 today not good 3 times and 3 of our day to spend our ,money to get jacked around can't wait to tell our friends so sad Emmie Hegeman 14825 Fox Trail BoxElder SD 57719 F

Worst Delivery Experience Ever.

The heart of my gross dissatisfaction lies in Lowe's twice iterated commitment to make delivery between 8:00am and 12:00noon on December 2nd. The item did not arrive until nearly 3:00pm. Despite lengthy and multiple calls to Lowe's, I found that there was no interest in, concern about, or willingness to hold accountability for their failure. Lowe's staff attempted to excuse their failure by making wild statements that - at each step - I refuted with facts. Lowe's acknowledged my rebuttals, but did not ever accept responsibility... or offer any good faith "make good" accommodation. The experience demonstrated that Lowe's concern for a customer is a distant consideration.

Lowe's doesn't actually deliver anything. They hire trucking companies to do their deliveries for them. Maybe contact the delivery service instead next time.

Delivery trucks can get delayed for various unforseen circumstances beyond human control. What “wild statements(excuses) did Lowe’s give you? What “make good” accommodation do you expect for a 3 hour delay in your delivery?

Dear Lowe's Plant City Florida Guy, If the delay had been presented as an "unforeseen circumstance[s]", I'd accept that. It wasn't.

The excuses ranged from 'all delivery arrangements are made by lowes corporate in North Carolina' to 'the driver doesn't answer his phone'... but moments before: 'we just called the driver, and he said...'. What accommodation should a business make for a failed commitment (irrespective of the duration)?... something.

Yes, something. Lowe's made no accommodation whatsoever.

It’s not worth getting so upset and melodramatic over. I would hate to see something as minor as a late delivery give you a stroke.

May I suggest Home Depot. It is great that we live in a country where we can chose whom to do business with.

Dude. There's no "melodrama" here.

I can't even say that I'm unduly "upset." I'm expressing dissatisfaction. Yes, I'm dissatisfied. And my diverting my business elsewhere demonstrates that I'm not "emotional" about this. Instead, I'm reacting to behaviors in an analytical, concrete, and decisive manner that is best for me.

And, yeah, Home Depot (and Valu Home Center, in my area) are now my "go to first" stores of this type.

Clearly, my experience is not a total aberration.

Everyone knows that "stuff happens." Lowe's knows that, too.

A firm that doesn't have effective policies & processes in place and active to deliver (no pun intended) an outstanding customer experience gets bumped to the bottom of my list. Lowe's declining business/financial growth relative to their industry seems to support my opinion.

Lowes has failed to deliver our appliances twice

We ordered 3 kitchen appliances. It was not delivered the first date provided. No phone call from Lowes. We had to call to find out it was no longer being delivered. Second date of delivery provided. We call and are told appliances are still not available. One appliance was "not loaded on the truck." As in it didn't fit on the delivery truck? Another hadn't been shipped to the store yet. A friend just went through a similar fiasco with Lowes so I at least knew NOT to take off work for delivery because inevitably you would waste a "sick day" or lose income for an unpaid day off. We cancelled our order, well at least attempted to. When we said we wanted to cancel, Mike the manager at the Severn Maryland store told us he was "Sorry to hear that," but rather than cancel the order he transferred us to a phone survey. Lowe's customer service is comparable and as frustrating as Comcast's customer service from a few years ago. I hope all the negative backlash and cancelled orders or returned orders start to bring attention to their hurrendous delivery and customer services.

But a Snow Blower for $844.00 but it was not delivered . Lowe's told me that they were not responsible since it was their contractor who was responsible to deliver the item.

"Nice" does not override incompetency.

Nov. 09, 2017 - Placed order for new dishwasher (wanted it by Christmas). Dec. 08, 2017 - Item received by Simi location (apparently it was lost for a while). Dec. 12, 2017 - Installer arrived at my home. Although installation had been paid in advance, the installer advised there would be an additional fee of $500 for installation as extra work needed to be done. I advised him to cancel the order. Dec. 12, 2017 - Received a call from Lowes customer service dept. They advised that another installer may be able to do the necessary work and install the dishwasher for approximately $200 more. I agreed to deal with another installer. Dec. 18, 2017 - 2nd installer called. They were not able to schedule installation prior to Christmas. I cancelled the order. Bottom line: Everyone I dealt with was very nice. However, "nice" does not override incompetency. I wonder how long it will take them to process the refund.............

I ordered a dishwasher,which was not in stock.the day before the install I had to call to see what time they were coming.i thought they should of called me.so the woman said 10am-1pm.well at 1:15 in the delivery day NOBODY.So I called to see where the guy was,they tried calling the install company,& they couldn't even get a hold of the installer.they left him a message & an email.i called back at 2:15.the company still couldn't get a hold of the installer.i told them to cancel the order & went down to the store & picked up my money. I was gonna work with them & asked if they could take off the $139 for the delivery & install.they said No.

3rd week August, 2017 called to express interest in having a fence and deck installed at my home. They came out measured and discussed what we wanted. A week later and three calls got email of proposal. Agreed to it. 2 weeks pass. More unanswered phone calls. Same guy comes out and writes up pricing. We pay. After calling again a few more times and people, about 2 wks later a guy calls says they are coming on October 1 for arrival of supplies. On the 5th he started. Was told one week it will be completed. Deck was partially finished on October 16. Waited one week for permit approval. October 21. Still incomplete. And our builder went on vacation but brought 2 guys to finish it today. Not only is it not finished, it is not level where they put our grill piece. They had the parts to out a privacy fence since October 1 but realized today they are wrong parts. Now we must wait a week for the guy to come back from vacation and order correct parts. A nightmare. Never again.

12-15-2017: Local Lowe's website (Glenmont, NY) stated there were 8 CR2025 Lithium batteries in stock located in Aisle 4 Bay 18. Drove to store to purchase product and to my surprise Aisle 4 Bay 18 had flashlights and related products. Worker guided me to front cashier station area where all batteries were displayed. Found the bin for battery CR2025 was empty !! Not the first time that I encounter such a deceiving information and pathetic organization from Lowe's. This convinced that I will drive to Home Depot the next time even though it is located quite a few miles away. No wonder Lowe's is not doing well.

I learned a long time ago to never call a store to see if something is in stock as you usually get the wrong answer. Best to get in your vehicle and check it out yourself.

That way, if they don't have what you want, you can simply drive to another store. You must remember that you are not dealing with rocket scientists employed by most stores.

Somebody obviously got hold of your credit or debit card number and are using it to make purchases, possibly on-line or over the phone. You need to call your bank and cancel the card and have a new one issued. At the same time, report the fraudulent charges and fill out the paperwork the bank requires to get the charges reversed.

I made 2 special orders with the Rochester Hills, MI Lowes store. They were so disorganized and withheld one order for 45 days when it was in the store the whole time. Then they tried to deliver it when I was at work (9am) when I had already told them what time I would be home. I cancelled the order. The second special order took over 60 days and was in store a week before anyone called me. When they finally did, they again tried to deliver when I was at work (9am) knowing my time schedule. The 3rd party delivery people were extremely rude. Lowes explained they are at the drivers' mercy. If a large company like Lowes is at the mercy of a tiny delivery man, and doesn't put their customers first, they deserve to go down in a ball of flames. What do these delivery people do for a living working 9-12? Don't they know other people can't just leave work for a delivery? I will NEVER shop at LOWES again and I will tell everyone I know what I *** job they do and how they treat people. I am also a veteran...if this is the way they treat those who defend our nation, I have no use for them. Enough said.
