Terrible ethics, lowes warranty worthless

This company does not stand behind their honor or words, written or otherwise, we purchased a washer and dryer paid 150.00 for extended warranty and when the washer went out in three months, lowes said that since the manufacturer, replaced the unit, the warranty was now void, so no warranty and no refund of paid warranty, so wrong, never buy again from lowes. This makes no sense at all but this is what we have come to expect from lowes, we purchased another warranty on an expensive consumer electronic item, now when the unit is no longer working we called lowes and they made an excuse that the supervisor would have to handle this but no supervisor was there so they would call us back, (no one called) dishonesty is not a good way to do business.

You just don't understand what you are paying for. Extended warranties only start after the manufactures warranty expires.

I'm sure Lowes explained this several times. Finally these extended warranties are considered 100% profit to the store, the odds of it actually qualifying to be used is very low chance. Same goes for a manufacture warranty, there is very specific to what it covers and 99% of the stuff it does not cover.

Only fools purchase extended warranties. It does not matter where you purchase it from; Walmart, shopko, Home Depot, Target you name it....

Lowes - Lowe's Edgewood, Georgia Service is Reprehensible

1.0
Details
My girlfriend's landlord ordered a washer/dryer for her at a recently leased condo. Two times a delivery time was given and two times no one showed. Requests were made to customer services and promises made to call back/fix the situation. Very poor results. On third try washer/dryer delivered but stacking kit not. Deliverer said would come back next day. What a crock. Never came and more requests just lead to more non response. Then the manager says after the landlord calls to pursue pressure on the service ok we'll call the tenant to see what and when we can do to remedy the situation. What time shall we deliver/install the stacking kit for you tomorrow Dec 16th? 9 am. What happens? The scheduling recording calls to say between 5 and 7 pm. Why not say I don't give a ***. This kind of service makes you want to put Lowe's out of business. It is so disrespectful. Very low in value. It would have been better to rent a Uhaul, picked it up, and install it yourself. It's like the lowest form of service possible to even be a service.

Lowes - Installation Review from Arlington, Texas

My husband and I purchased a dishwasher from lowes two weeks ago in Arlington, Tx. The salesperson promised us we could have it installed December 15th. The installers called and never left a message on my husbands phone nor did they call me which I'm listed. After my husband missed the call due to him being at work I called back and never got a call back fr the installer. The store was rude and not willing to meet their promise I will never purchase another appliance from them. They really need to have customer service training for all associates because they all lack this even when we go into the store for help or have a question. Horrible organization!!!!

Lowes - Credit Card Review from Hartford, Connecticut

2.0
Details
Your company is ripping off your credit card customers. U charge finance charges on finance charges. Every month my payment gets used on more finance charges. This month u took the payment out of my acct twice, instead of crediting my bank acct as I was told, u decide to reimburse me with a check. As soon as my appliances r paid off, I am never doing business with Lowe's again. Your new credit company stinks.

Your issue is not with Lowes, it's with the card company who OWNS THE LOWES CREDIT CARD. Lowes does not get a dime from the card besides what you bought.

The interest rates and other chargers go to the card company who owns and operates the Lowes credit card. All big box store credit cards work this way. The only reason they offer a credit card is for an exclusive way to pay for their goods. It's all marketing.

They want to give you as many options as possible to buy from them increasing their profits.

All credit card company's have high charges....so why r you complaining? Do you think you are going to get something for free if you complain.....

Why are you blaming a retail store for the problems you are having with a credit company?

Lowes - Staff Review from Houston, Texas

The associates in the garden center at store on jefferson hey 1877 are horrible especially a lady named Karen she says she is a waterer and doesn't help customers she sent me to another rude woman Jennifer that said I am no expert read the tag. These people are idiots. The stores aged is also not very nice. Definately not worried about the customers at that store. The garden center has nothing but rejects supposed to be working?? Lol i believe these people are totally lazy... Just there for a paycheck.

You are one of those clueless customers that think that every employee in a store knows everything about every product. WAKE UP!

They don't.

They are trained to work in specific areas with specific tasks. The first employee you encountered was hired to keep the plants watered and properly displayed, this doesn't mean she's an expert on plants. She was working and doing her job. Why do you call her lazy?

You don't say what you asked Jennifer. Reading the tags on the plants may be the best way to get information in a big box store. Don't expect an employee making minimum wage working in a big box store to have a degree in horticulture.

If you want expert advice you should be shopping at a nursery rather than a big box store. Unfortunately you won't want to pay the higher price that comes with hiring a more specialized staff.

Lowes in Snelling, California - Bad customer service

I ordered a kids trampoline on cyber Monday. Estimated delivery date was December 9th. Received an email verifying that the delivery date would be the 9th. Called Lowes on the 11 th and was told that email was in error and that the item would not be delivered until January 5th. When incomplained the gentleman said that he would escalate my complaint and guaranteed that I would receive a callback within 24 hours. I called back 2 days later and was told by a supervisor that nothing had been done since my first call and all she could do is refund my money and apologize. Very poor customer service. When asked where I could file a poor review she stated that they only offered review space for products not their company

Lowes in Bend, Oregon - Said they'd deliver my oven and they said:"There is no oven!"

Lowe's called and said my oven would be delivered the next day and they'd phone in the morning with the time. I cleared my schedule so I'd be home the next day. My husband disconnected the oven and pulled it out from the wall. Everything was good to go! However, the next morning I did not receive the promised call so I called Lowe's. I was basically told (although in a slightly politer fashion): "You're screwed lady. We don't have your friggin' oven." I spoke with someone in the appliance department and then a store manager and nobody would give me a reasonable answer to my questions: Why did you phone me to say my oven will be delivered when it wasn't even there? Where is my oven and when will I get it? Also, trying to get them to apologize for their mistake was like pulling teeth!!! Well, this is the most important part of my tale because we all know humans are fallible and mistakes happen. But, I have evidence to suggest that this happens with Lowe's on a regular basis (that's probably why everyone I spoke to at Lowe's seemed so nonchalant about my issue). My husband told a co-worker about our oven delivery fail and the co-worker said: "That exact same thing happened to me! I bought a refrigerator at Lowe's. I emptied my old one and put it in the garage for pick-up. Lowe's called to deliver and then didn't show up. I called them and they said they didn't have my refrigerator!" I want to know if others have had this same problem with Lowe's. Why do they do this? I'd highly recommend not shopping at Lowe's and buying from "the local guy" but, unfortunately, the local guy costs more.

Im having that same problem as we speak. They were supposed to deliver my washer and dryer between 9am and 12pm..

it is now 2:13 pm and i still have no washer and dryer.

And lets not forget, my washer and dryer were supposed to be here a week ago but when they came into the store someone sold my dryer to another customer. Beyond irritated at this point.

As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for." Pay a little more at the local store and you'll get a lot better service. You'll get delivery on their truck by their employees rather than a delivery service that delivers for multiple stores.

Lowes - Light Fixture Review from Toronto, Ontario

1.0
Details
Totally got screwed over by these guys today. Bought 18 pot light fixtures at $21 bucks each. Went to install them....11 out of 18 are used or missing parts. The last guy that returned them actually wrote "missing parts" right on the box. Guess what Lowe's did, put them neatly into a case holds 12 and sold them to us as new. Store manager gave us attitude like this was somehow our fault. Figured we should be happy that he refunded us. I pointed out that's he legally had to which he didn't like but did anyway. Now we have to pay for an electrician twice and have to run around and find new lights HOME DEPOT THANK YOU. Did Lowea offer us any compensation? Nope, they didn't even offer to get us more in, they said there aren't anymore and basically told us to leave. I am going to find as many places as I can to write about this experience at Lowe's in detail, along with social media posts like no other...Yes I'm that guy, not the one you want to screw over. So good job Lowe's you got a few hundred dollars of our money and your "acting" manager at 100 Edgeley in Vaughn who was working tonight at 7:30 has cost you tens of thousands in additional revenue. Did I mention this is our third restaurant renovation?

Lowes in Livingston, New Jersey - THEY DONT PAY THEIR BILLS

Im a third party vendor for lowes, we performed services for them last winter in 2 states and Lowes despite written authorization refuses to pay the overage on their snow. Its almost 70k. Despite months of trying to work amicably with the company and my client Lowes has taken an approach which is unacceptable. While they prey on the small contractors for their bread and butter in the store they refuse to pay for the services rendered in order to keep their business open. It is unfortunate that this has become what it is. I would urge everyone to rethink where they shop and the type of people they do business with.
