Lowes in Tellico Plains, Tennessee - Happy Holiday??!!

1.0
Details
Months ago I planned to order Levalor Blinds from Lowes, picked up the book looked at materials, no call from a request made. Was told they didn't have my number. NOT true. I have them in my contacts with them calling me on my cell. After them explaining to me they called the wrong number I went ahead and let them send out someone to measure my windows. I was delighted to see them delivered within 10 day, week before Thanksgiving. Installer didn't contact me until after...no real problem, just was happy he was here and they were going up. NO they weren't...!!! Order was WRONG! Ordered top down opening, remembered having the conversation with the sales girl about loving the fact they opened that way. Upon the installer taking them down and calling Lowes, I told him I needed the reorder immediately in fear of not being installed my Xmas. This was on the 2nd of Dec. Was told someone would call me from Lowes. It's the 4th and I finally called them finding out that my new order wasn't called in. Reason, picking up blinds first. I didn't care if my CC was charged 2X at this point just needed the order to be put through. Was told today that the girl who handles orders wasn't in until tomorrow and no one else could help me. I decided after thinking about it to call the manager. He told me he was sending someone to pick up the blinds today. Once again more important to pick up old blinds before ordering my new ones not caring about time and the Xmas Holiday. Finally after a girl called me to reorder only to tell me they would take 14-21 day to arrive with no guarantee of installation. I cancelled. Called the manager back only to hear him tell me "I bent over backwards to helo you" WRONG!~ bending over backwards would have been communicating with the customer 2 days ago and pushing the order through immediately since this was a in house mistake. I will never again use Lowes. I've been a customer for 40 years and they no longer care about customer satisfaction!

Lowes in Oxford, North Carolina - Generator Paid in full

I ordered a 16KW generator for my parents and was told it would be "like 3 to 5 days" for it to come in. I used my Lowes card t get the 5% and now the bill is due today and still no generator. All anyone can tell me is it is "processing". What does that even mean? Retail or corporate, no one can tell me anything except if you don't want to pay the bill until it comes in you will have to cancel the order completely. It's so frustrating to have to deal with such incompetency on a regular basis at this store. So i guess i go pay my bill like a good little sheep and hope i get a generator so my aging parents can have heat in the winter.

The "processing" is what shows up on the computer when whoever checks the status off your order. After it is paid for the order goes to the vendor.

It has little to do with Lowes after that point....

Everyone blames them, but they can not control how fast it is shipped to them. Especially if the item is on back order from the company, like most of the generators are now.

Problem with delivery
Bought Heater & Extended Warranty on 1/29/14 for $114 and change. Cashier told me the heater would be covered for a year for replacement if anything happened to it. It ran great for 2-1/2 months or so. Put it away for summer. Got it out end of Sept. It ran ok for...

You meed to understand how these warranties work. They are an extended warranty that starts AFTER the manufacturer warranty ends.Your heater is still under the manufacturer warranty which apparently calls for service. Once the manufacturer warranty ends the replacement warranty kicks in.

Lowes in Norcross, Georgia - Rude customer service

Large Appliance saleswoman demanded her space after telling another customer she wouldn't help them without an item code because she had other customers demanding her time. When I became angry about a $2/ft refrigerator water line add-on, rather than trying to appease me, the customer, she whined saying it wasn't her fault and she wasn't being rude. Mind, no one ever mentioned the word rude to her but she arrived at that conclusion on her own then denied it. She also informed us, after the purchase, delivery would not be the following day, as posted on every appliance but, within a few days following receipt of the refrigerator in the store, which would be three weeks or more. This occurred at the Beaver Ruin store in Atlanta and was for a supposedly in-stock item. I told each Lowe employee I would write this review. None cared.

Why do you feel you shouldn't pay for the water line? They have to pay the cost of materials and time to hook it up.

Customers like you that think retail employees need to bow to them and grant your every wish really ruin a day for a sales person. They are only following company policies. They don't own the store and have the authority to give things away. Quit being a PITA and you will be treated a lot better.

As far as next day delivery you will find it's rather hard to deliver something they don't have in stock. Stores do on occasion run out. Then you have to wait for more to come in. Once they are in delivery can be scheduled.

Sorry, she can't go in the back room and build you one.

Too bad everyone can't work a week in a retail store as part of their high school education. Bet people would understand it's not as simple as you seem to think.

Lowes - Mechanic Tool Set Review from Mountain View, California

I was shopping for a complete 300 piece mechanics toolset, I was torn between Lowes toolset & Harbor Freight. I think Cobalt tools are better than Harbor Freight tools, the deciding factor was that Harbor Freight will replace any broken tool for life no questions asked. When I asked the salesman at Lowes what their policy was he said they would replace it if they had the tool, wrong answer. They lost a $250 purchase

I'm glad to know that Harbor Freight intend to keep every tool they ever sell as a stock item until the end of the world, after all they are known for their high quality tools that are made in tiny sweat shops in Taiwan. I hope you can go back in a few years and get a new tool when the ***, oops sorry awesome tool, you bought breaks. If they do not have the item, however, I hope you write a review telling people about it.

Lowes in Towanda, Pennsylvania - Is this bait & switch?

I tried ordering a dryer on line that was on sale for $239. I was supposed to get a call within 24 hours to arrange delivery. When I didn't get a call I called customer service. Customer service told me the item was not available and spent almost an hour trying to sell me a more expensive model. When I asked to speak to a manger a so called manager named Julie #1462183 got on the phone and talked over me for 3 minutes not letting me speak about how there was nothing she could do. I finally gave up an cancelled my order which had already been charged to my Lowes credit card. I admit I thought that a new dryer for $239 was to good to be true but this is the sale season. Guess I had sucker written somewhere.

Lowes - Brand New Washer that does not work

1.0
Details
I bought a new washer and paid $553 on 10/27/2014. Within days I found the washer was not working. Lowes put me in touch with a service company, they came to fix it a few days later. They said they will come back with a part. That "monday" came and went- and six more times they said-"part delayed", "waiting for part", then "part will be sent from another location", then "technician is sick". I asked them to take back the washer and Ill pay for a new one' they would'nt do it. I'm going to buy one from Home Depot.

What you need to understand is that the retail store you buy an appliance from is NOT responsible for the warranty on the product. It is the manufacturer that is responsible for the warranty repairs and sets up their network of service centers.

The service company you contacted is paid by the manufacturer, not Lowes to repair the product they made. If you had purchased the washer at Home Depot the same people would be out there repairing it.

Your complaint should be with the manufacturer of the washer, not Lowes. As a consumer you need to educate yourself as to who is responsible for the warranty on products you purchase.

Well, it is Lowe's phone number that I call, and Lowe's is the company that answers the call and directs it to the repair company. If that is the level of service Lowe's provides, it is obviously their service issue.

I cannot track down every manufacturer, and every repairman in the country to find out who is at fault. I paid Lowe's and Lowe's is the one responsible to review and answer the complaint. They are the only one that have taken the money and are responsible for a (defective) product.

Next time I buy something from your store, do you expect me to fly to China to track down a manufacturer, who may have a customer service rep in India, with a repairman in Mexico? Or should I just come to you?

You need to be in business to know how to take responsibility-not just hand it off to someone else who might be responsible, but you get to keep the money.

@mike

Read your warranty. The warranty is provided by the manufacturer not Lowes.

The manufacture is the party legally responsible for the warranty repair. Retail stores act as a middleman to make it convenient for you to take delivery of a product from the manufacturer. In this case the also acted as a middleman in getting you in touch with the manufacturers approved service center. When you bought the washer it obviously had a manufactures name on it.

It also came with instructions, a copy of the warranty and a warranty card to send in. If you pull out that packet of information it gives you a number at the manufacturer to call for warranty service. Nothing to "track" down, you have all the information you need. You just chose the lazy way and called Lowes.

They helped you out in filing the claim with the manufacturer who is responsible for the repair and now all you do is complain. As a consumer it is YOUR responsibility to educate yourself as to how warranties work. Review the warranty before you purchase the product.

If you don't like the process (the appliance warranty calls for repair not replacement) don't buy it. You can always get a scrub board and wash your clothes by hand.

Lowes - Delivery Review from Linwood, New Jersey

1.5
Details
Sold me a product they didn't have. Even called and confirmed the delivery date of the product twice. Received a third call from them then saying they were out of the product and would be able to deliver it until the following year sometime. Wouldn't even sell me a comparable product at the same price which they are obligated to do. Won't shop at lowes again.

Where do you get the idea that they are obligated to sell you a comparable product at he same price?

Anonymous
#907647

Do you actually think retail stores make the products they sell? They gave you a delivery date based on when the manufacturer of the product said it would be shipped.

At some point they were informed it wouldn't arrive till next year. Lowes has no control over manufacturing or shipping delays (check the news, West coast dock workers are slowing shipping on ships coming in on the west coast).

If you ordered the same product from another store that had to rely on delivery from the same manufacturer do you think it would get to you any quicker? Wake up and join the real world.
