Lowes review in Baltimore, Maryland: Defective appliance

I bought a dryer 4 months ago. I called Oct 19 to get a repair person because it had stopped working. He showed up Oct 22 without the necessary part but did tell me he had a lot of defective dryers from Lowes recently. He ordered the part which did not arrive in time for the rescheduled visit on October 28. I took off another half day of work today to meet the repair guy between 1 and 5 but at 6 I was told he would be there at about 7 pm. At this point I rescheduled with zero confidence these clowns will actually ever repair this dryer that I have had for FOUR MONTHS. I have several rental properties and have spent at least 10K a year with these guys for the last several years. and actually had planned on another 7 K in early next year. Looks like Home depot is the next stop on my list.

WOW! What a genius.

You've spent over $10,000 a year for the past few years and now have a problem and are headed for Home Depot. You do realize that Lowes didn't make the dryer don't you. The manufacturer is responsible for the warranty repair...not Lowes.

This will be true at Home Depot as well. Glad you didn't say you are headed to my store.

Well, I was online browsing to see how much pumpkins were going for and Lowe's had medium pumpkins for $1.00 so I ordered 3 and a variety pack of some smaller pumpkins.. Well, when I went in store to pick them up after receiving NO e-mails from them; I learned they had canceled my order. No e-mail was sent out that they were canceling my order, that there was a mistake or anything; Just an "oh I'm sorry and your money should be refunded back to your account.." Yeah well I don't care if they ever have any deals or sales or anything again - I refuse to buy anything from them ever after this *** experience.

You bought pumpkin online.

And got upset when you found out they had non left.

Did you call before you placed the order?

Or do you expect a minute by minute update from the store to the website.

That is diluted to say the least.

I hope one day things click in your head when it comes to common sense.

Remember those days when people would walk through a pumpkin patch and pick the pumpkins Or at lease walk through the store and found the one they liked.

By buying them online you are throwing all personal preference out the window. And you still would of bitched if you go ugly ones.

I just switched to home depot from Lowes watered down paint .I had a problem there brought it to the paint station s attention and guess what .ur screwed the assistant manager Tim Swanson is a little mouthy *** that works there that has absolutely no people skills .and martin the drug attict in paints .they need to find people that help you not there to argue at u or wrongly match paint .just a warning !!go to home depot much better .I don't need a response back I'm just done dealing with that store bye bye to all the paint I buy there in that store.a holes

Well, their paint department is awful , they have no system in place. I once bought two gallons of paint which were supposed to be flat.

Got it home and on the last gallon a few hours later and after I am covered in paint I found out that the second paint can was satin not flat. Which explains why the associate put his thumb on the dab of paint on the outside of the can. To dull it ya think? It's the entire experience at Lowe's that's awful.

HD is much better. People know what they are doing and seem to actually like working there. They say hello...they smile...they say thank you...

Today I was at Lowes to buy paint and the guy at the counter ignored me.

He proceeded to speak to the a woman who came over to the counter and flirt with her. She was put off by his behavior, especially when he started to lean over the counter and practically drool on her. She left and I was still standing there. He never once said hi, never said I will be with you in a moment.

Nada. Then another woman came over and he told me he was going to quickly answer her question before helping me. I could have had a question too..no? She went on at length so my wait was even longer.

Finally when he was done with her he looked at me and said "Gee, I didn't expect her question to be so long". I don't like going to this store at all, my experiences have almost always been negative.

Even one of the cashiers I have spoken to over the years told me the management there doesn't care. Imagine that ...

Lowes - Washer Review

I bought a washer from lowes 2 years ago, and paid to get the five year contract. My washer broke they have been out five times already and currently my washer is still not working after four months! I wouldn't recomend anyone to buy from them! They have not held up there policy at all! They Have been rude and exctemely unhelpful! Currently I'm trying to get a lawyer and believe me I'll win! Lowes beware! And btw I'm a mother with seven children if anyone needs a washer it would be me!

I have contracted with Lowes in Cincinnati, OH to remodel my first floor, including total kitchen remodel. At first the design group was very helpful. Then I paid for my cabinents and they sat in my house for 5 months before the work started. The day my work was to start I was told the date would be 2 weeks later. Even after scheduling 2 months out. There has only been 1-2 men working in my home at a time. I had to move out. They did not have work order for bathroom that I understood to be paid for. Lowes never paid for my granite so I lost what I picked out and had to spend time choosing again. The design person said "good news, lowes is picking up the extra granite cost, but you have to pay for the work in your bathroom" I already paid for everything. At least that wad what she said as she collected the final payment of over 40k. I have not received any appliances and the workers couldn't find them, but I paid for them back in April/May. The product is nice, but the contractor and design person are trying to rob me blind for work that was to be included in the job. They won't even start your job until it is paid in full. I have remodelled before. This is an awful experience. Please don't use Lowes for your job.

Went to LOWES late Oct. 2014 in Tucson, AZ on Ina Rd & had OVER THE TOP HELP from Ms Brittany who took me from one end of the store to the other. I said I was done but then got GREAT additional help from Kevin & Scott. I needed 1 more piece and stopped at Home Depot on Thorneydale Rd. but the same piece *** plug) was amazingly more than triple in price !!! !!!! !!!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! ! !!!!! !!! !!!! !!!! !!! !!! !!! !!!

Once again A wasted trip to Lowes. I will never set foot in that store again even though Home Depot is twice as far away. Their employees are rude and unhelpful. Many of them do not know whether or what items are. And have the time I end up driving to Home Depot anyways so why bother.

Poor Treatment of subcontractors, SHAME ON LOWES

We have sub for them for 15 years. They are not loyal to their constrictors, they will give you work and without notice take you off rotation so that you no longer receive work. Its feast or famine with them. They have no consideration that people have families and business obligations to pay for. When you call to inquire why no work is sent to you they offer nothing or 'don’t take it personally,' well I’m telling you it is personal when you have to keep income going. They want you to devote unconditional time to the chronic calls, emails phone calls for updates and questions. At the end of the day I'm lucky to be making a dollar a day. I also make a lot less than I did when I first came on board. They have taken my services and reduced them to a cheap one size sits all solution, so I get paid the same regardless if it is a specialized job or a standard one. Dont get me started on the sales dept. Either, they make no effort to get to know what they are selling instead placing all the responsibiliity on the installer to sell the job. I have made the decision to let them go after 15 years and end the cycle of feast or famine.

Did you ever stop to think that they don't have the jobs to give you. You don't say what kind of contractor you are but I'll use a contractor that might install kitchens as an example.

Kitchen sales are best from January to May. Summer comes along and people are more concerned about outdoor projects. Kitchens will pick up again September to early November.

No one wants their kitchens torn up between Thanksgiving and Christmas so sales stall again. It's feast or famine for the people selling kitchens as well.

I WENT TO PURCHASE A LEAF BLOWER. THE ONE I WANTED WAS OUT OF STOCK. THE CLERKS INSISTED IT WAS 15% off. When I called the other store they said no. ARE LOWES NOT ALL THE SAME? THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT ERROR IF THERE ARE SIGNS ALL OVER THE STORE. THEY WERE RUDE AND THEY WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR BAD DAY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH LOWES, THEIR ORDERING AND PRICING. THEY COMMENTED THERE WERE 12 LEAF BLOWERS ARRIVING ON THE NEXT TRUCK AND IN THE NEXT BREATH SWAID THEY WERE NOT ORDERED. HOW CAN YOU MAKE AN ERROR THAT SIGNIFICANT. I AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH LOWES AND WILL BE SHOPPING THE COMPETITIORS ACROSS THE STREET.

Long term Lowe's customer. I have a broken left wrist in a cast. Today I shopped at the Lowe's in Raleigh at 4831 Grove Barton Road.I needed a specific sized microwave today for entertaining this afternoon. An associated named Dwight was very helpful, he measured the microwave to confirm the dimensions. and loaded it into my cart. After making my purchase I asked for loading assistance as I can't lift with my left arm. I was told no loaders were working today, Sunday October 26. I had to rely on the kindness of others and find someone in the parking lot to load the box in my car. I called the 800 customer service number and the operator brought the store manager, Michelle on the line. She told me as I had already left the store there was nothing she could do. Her overall tone expressed her lack of interest in my problem. End result, after years as a customer doing major renovations I am voting with my feet and will NOT return to a Lowe's.

What did you expect them to do once you got home? If it were such a problem why didn't you ask to talk to the store manager while you were there?

If you had, I expect she may have loaded it for you. To make your shopping trips quicker in the future, take who ever is going to unload your car when you get home to the store with you so they can help you load your car as well.
