Lowes in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Service

Have an extended warranty on my refrigerator. Called for service as refrig is not working. First appointment they could give me was two days later. Stayed home all day and no one came. Called back and was told the service tech wouldn't be there for 10 days. When i complained about going 10 days without the use of my frig was assured that that was not acceptable and that a supervisor would call me by the end of the next day. Still waiting for that call. Called back. After a 11 minute hold, was connected to a supervisor who could only say that they had an appointment for me and that there was no way to file a formal complaint. It was rather amazing that I called a service tech and he came out within a few hours and fixed my frig. at my expense. So call me *** for ever buying the extended warranty and call me a former Lowe's custormer

Lowes is horrible to work for!!

I always thought lowes would take care of its employees but I could not have been more wrong. Firstly I've worked there for 5 years and have never been so disrespected by a company as I have been by lowes. My insurance was changed to a new company and basically dropped any part of my insurance that I really needed and I was poorly informed and was given no options to do anything about it. When I brought it to the attention of the hr manager she acted Let she could care less and it wasn't her problem. I strongly discourage anyone from working there!!

Lowes - FAILED DELIVERIES, FIVE TIMES AT A LOSS OF $2,000

I ordered a large lumber delivery from Lowes and was promised a delivery date. I have a crew of three at a cost of $150.00 an hour standing by awaiting delivery. The driver called and said he could not be here before 5:00 p.m. so I told him to redeliver the next day. That's four hours, $600.00 out of pocket for me. The second day, my crew is here at noon again. The driver called to say he had an accident and dropped a bunch of windows and could not be here again. Another day, another $600.00 loss for me. The third day, my crew was here again. No one arrived all day, and Lowes did not call. We called them, and they had no record of my order at all! This is a third missed appointment and another $600.00. They finally arrived on the 4th attempt. Here is is two weeks later, and we ordered another load of lumber and and scheduled delivery for Tuesday, 8/12. My crew is here again. They did not arrive and did not call. A fourth $6000 loss. On Wednesday 8/13 we called and asked what happened to our delivery. Four hours later, manager Eric called to say that their notes had delivery for 9/12. We explained we had been on the phone all day Friday August 8 and had been assured the 8/12 delivery date. They apparently had a typo and entered 9/12 instead of 8/12 on their delivery schedule. The manager absolutely refused to assist. The soonest he would agree to deliver is one week later, Tuesday 8/19. Now I have a crew for 8 hours a day at $1,200 a day for four more days doing nothing and my project is behind a week. NEVER USE LOWES THEIR PROCESS, THEIR MANAGEMENT AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST IN THE WORD

First, a smart person would have had the products delivered before the crew came. Second, if they are really as bad as you say, why do you keep ordering more product from them?

Lowes in Vernal, Utah - Refused a V.A. discount

After buying a brand new home in 2013, we have spent at least $3,000,00 in our local store. Always getting a V.A. discount. When we went there August 10,2014 they told us we can no longer qualify. Their discount is only for disabled or retired vets. This is B.S.!! Tell me why the other vets that fought for our country are not good enough for a discount?! Secondly, if they were going to change their policy, they should inform people. We would have waited and gone to Home Depot for our purchases. Don't know if we'll go there again, not just because of this, but we were treated quite rudely.

The policy has been the same for years now, but recently started being enforced. The everyday discount is for active duty, retired, or disabled veterans.

On Memorial day, fourth of July, and Veteran's Day weekend, they open it up to ALL current and former military. It's been that way for years now.

I didn't enlist to get a discount when I got out. I don't feel entitled to a discount, though I'm appreciative to those who CHOOSE to give one because I CHOSE to serve.

Businesses are in business to make money. Just because I served my country doesn't mean I should be entitled to special treatment.

"I'd like to see anywhere in your enlistment or discharge papers that says you are entitled to a discount anywhere. Be thankful when you do get a discount.

Your entitled attitude is a disgrace to the good name of honorable veterans." Well said!

Oh and how exactly is Lowes suppose to tell people they changed their policy? Do you want them to make a commercial about it? Post it in the newspaper?

Inform the news? Seriously you were informed when you went to make the purchase......

Lowes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Don't trust them! They do not stand behind their appliance protection plan.

Brand new Kitchen Aid fridge acts weird. Called Lowe's to explain problem and was given a number to report trouble. They dispatch an appliance repair shop that shows up over 48 hours later. By then the system righted itself but there was still water in the defrosting tray. Nothing to do as it seems to be working correctly. I received a bill because nothing was wrong when they came out. Lowe's say it's my problem; Whirlpool says I should have called them and not Lowe's. I'm screwed!!! Somehow I was supposed to know that when my freezer was 54 degrees and there was water all over the floor it was going to reboot itself and all was gonna be wonderful. I bought an entirely new kitchen with extended protection that I cannot trust.

Lowes in Fayetteville, Georgia - LOWE'S EXTENDED WARRANTIES ARE BOGUS!!

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY KITCHEN APPLIANCES FROM LOWE'S!!! After tons of service visits and hours on the phone, Lowe's simply does not back up their products. I even opted to purchase their bogus replacement warranty, and it has failed time and time again to replace my lemon. So far, they've done nothing but make excuses and break promises. I've been without ice for almost 2 months, and this refrigerator has 2 ice makers!! The repair company has tried to address the same issues over and over. This has been the worst experience as a consumer, and I strongly suggest going to Sears or Home Depot for any of your kitchen appliance needs. To sum it up...POOR CUSTOMER DEDICATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THEY DO NOT BACK UP THEIR PRODUCTS! DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR BOGUS EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!

Sorry, it is a little over 2 years old, so it's not the manufacturer I'm dealing with.

You don't say how old the refrigerator is. If it's less than a year old it's covered by the manufacturer warranty. The extended warranty doesn't take effect until the manufacturer warranty ends.

Lowes is no Home Depot

We bought a fix-upper in Melfa Va on the Eastern Shore of Va. I am installing a shower stall, toilet and vanity in that home. UNFORTUNATELY, there is no Home Depot close by so I went to the closest Lowes in Pocomoke Va - 45 min away each way. I went there on Sunday evening with the contractor where I purchased $866.00 in bathroom fixtures. Bill Hickman, the sales clerk told me that 2 pieces are in Salisbury Lowes and he would arrange for delivery at soon as possible but no later than Wednesday. I made it clear that I didn't want the workmen sitting around not having anything to do and I didn't want to pay the contractor to make multiple trips picking up the order in piece meal so time was of the essence. On the Monday I called Pocomoke Lowes to follow up on the order and was told by Jackie that I would not get the order until Friday. I said Bill said by Wednesday and I explained that I did not want the contractor picking up piece meal order and I didn't want the workmen not having any work to do all week. On Tuesday morning I called Jackie again, and she assured me that the Lowes delivery truck had gone to Salisbury Lowes to pick up my 2 pieces. On Tuesday evening my contractor traveled the 45 minutes each way to Pocomoke Lowes to get the order. By Wednesday when the contractor completed framing up the shower stall area and opened the box with the side shower walls there is only one piece instead of two pieces of side walls. That put a stop to the work since he could not install the shower stall without the other side wall and he could not install the toilet or the vanity until he install the shower stall. So he had to go back to Pocomoke Lowes (45 minutes each way) and an attendant there told him that they do not have side walls in stock and HE needs to drive the extra hour to Salisbury to get what is missing. On Saturday I called for Jackie at Pocomoke Lowes and she does not take the call. I elevate it to Paul, one of the managers, who says that Jackie is standing right there and she says that there are complete side wall boxes at Pocomoke Lowes. So Paul said that my contractor could come and get one - another 45 minutes round trip that I am going to have to pay for when I have already lost a week of work and paid for two contractor pick up from Pocomoke Lowes. When I mentioned that this would be the 3rd round trip I was paying for, Paul offered to have the side wall delivered to my house - but only the side wall that is missing. I asked if he could deliver the entire new box containing the 2 side walls and take back the box at my house with the one side wall and he said "no, no, no, no!" "You have to get your contractor to call us and tell us exactly which side wall is missing and we will deliver only that side wall." So I said what if there are other smaller pieces missing that we don't know about because we never got around to really trying to install it. Wouldn't it be easier on delivery time if you just bring a complete box and take back the defective box?" "No, no, no, no" he said in an all-or-nothing kind of way. "Have your contractor call Jackie and tell her exactly what is missing and we will bring only those parts." Dear Paul, I am not trying to end up with three side walls for a two side wall shower stall. I am just trying to make sure that after your delivery I would have everything I need to get my project back on track i.e. install the shower, then the toilet, then the vanity. Ms. Melfa But the entire experience made me realize why Home Depot is my absolute favorite store in the world. In all my years of dealing with Home Depot, it is the absolute best with customer service. Even if there is a Lowes closer by I will never chose a Lowes over a Home Depot. Paul, Jackie, Bill have just cemented my love and appreciation for how Home Depot has treated me over the years. CUSTOMER SERVICE. RIGHTING A WRONG. MAKING CUSTOMERS FEEL APPRECIATED. TAKING THEIR BLAME IN MESSING UP AN ORDER AND GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER FEEL BETTER.
