Lowes in Kingsport, Tennessee - INSTALL Refused by delivery guy

I bought dented fridge...told delivery and install would be free. Delivered 8pm...ok, fine. Delivery guy said no install of discounted products was allowed.. Lowe's should have told me that instead of telling me delivery and install would be free. free. Then He did not even leave the hose I was required to buy so they would install free!!!! I am 69 can't walk well and now I have to travel all over to get this fixed or lose money. I feel they ripped an old lady off and are proud of it!! I bought over $4000 there trusting them, now do not dare to spend one more penny there and I need stove, doors etc. Kingsport TN

Lowes - Manager Review

I was hired on as a seasonal employee and not guaranteed a job at the end of the season the hr manager knew I had kids an needed work I applied for every full time position they posted and never once got the opportunity to even get interviewed for any of the positions I always seemed to get a run around answer , everybody says Lowes is such a good company to work for well its not they don't treat their employees fairly especially the seasonal employees.

You were hired on as a seasonal employee. That means that at the end of the season they may not keep you.

Im sure they made this known to you during the hiring process.

Maybe you didn't do your job well enough during the season to be offered a full time job. The fact that you have kids doesn't have anything to do with the hiring process.

Lowes in Lakeland, Florida - Short answer is *** Poor Service.

Store closes at 22:00 New what I wanted. Entered went straight to isle. Pic, walk to check out counter ALL closed. Ask for assistance. Directed to "customer service counter" where three (3x) persons with LOWES "uniforms" fraternizing with obviously someone they knew well (girlfriend, sister, or...???) no attention paid. Started becoming obvious that they did not deem it "the appropriate time to shop". Treated with disdain when finally "helped". Though it best to take my hard earned cash (and it was cash) elsewhere. Left store at 21:02 or give them the benefit of the doubt 21:03. Wife has been complaining about lack of service (if you can call it that) for a while. Took my business to HD where I was astounded that there were actually other customers (imagine that) several in fact, shopping after 21:30 whereas not 15-20 min ago I could have sworn that I was the only one at LOWES. For the record my Zip is 33812 south of Lakeland (city central) FL.

I actually appreciate that you went over to Depot to bother them. Most people that have never worked retail have no idea that we might have lives outside of the store. Thanks for taking your business elsewhere.

I take it that you are one of those people that think if you come in at the last minute you are going to get all sorts of help because the poor employees want to get home. You are right in that they want to go home.

You are wrong that you will get good service. You will get minimal rushed service if any at all. They have things to get cleaned up before leaving as well as helping people that think as long as they are in the door before it gets locked they can stay there as long as they want.

Be reasonable and shop earlier so you can be out of the store before closing time. They are open plenty of hours, you don't need to keep them late.

Well maybe you shouldn't be shopping out so late? Cool that you came to HD but still.. You're one of those annoying customers that think just because it's 1 minute to close we should wait on you hand and foot.

Lowes destroyed my lawn and will not make it right

We hired Lowe's to do some pretty substantial home improvement projects. A new kitchen counter and backsplash tile; a bathroom remodel, and a new fence. I will start off by saying the subcontractors Lowe's provided were excellent, but Lowe's consistently dropped the ball. They did not provide the subcontractors in some cases with adequate materials (forcing them to drive back and forth to get things), and failed to deliver the fencing material for the subcontractor in a timely manner. The day the fence was to be installed, they FINALLY brought the fencing material to our house (it was supposed to be delivered the day before). Unfortunately, it was raining very hard, and for some reason the Lowe's delivery person decided it would be a good idea to drive a heavy fork lift laden with fencing across my very wet lawn. As if leaving massive divot tracks across my lawn wasn't bad enough, he managed to get the lift and load stuck very close to his final destination. At that point, he began spinning the wheels of the fork lift, burying it a good 3.5-4 feet deep in my yard. They then called in a large wrecker from a local towing company, and proceeded to drag the machine deeper and deeper across the lawn. So they called in another smaller wrecker, which left another set of nasty tracks in the yard, and then got that stuck. So they had to use the cable from the huge wrecker to pull the smaller wrecker and the fork lift through my yard, leaving deep ruts. Lowe's was all apologetic, and promised to "make it right". They did not. They had the fencing contractor have one of his guys fill in the crevasses in my lawn by hand with a shovel, and sprinkle some grass seed over the mess. It continued to rain hard, and no attempt was ever made to roll or compact the backfill. My yard then somewhat resembled a moonscape with a two-track through the middle of it. We were told to let the grass come in and wait and see. We did, and the grass did partially come in, but the lawn remained very scarred. In addition, the lumpiness of the lawn remains. My wife spent nearly one month of calling "Rick" the Lowe's manager and telling him the yard condition was unacceptable, missing grass, and was very uneven and unsightly. She was treated to excuse after excuse after excuse. Finally, "Rick" agreed to do something. The "something" was he sent the fencing contractor out to sprinkle a single 7 pound sack of grass seed over our unsightly lawn scars. NO ATTEMPT was made to correct the uneven ground or loss of drainage profile. At this point, it is obvious Lowe's will never make this problem "right". They damaged our property, screwed up, and offered little more than cheap gratuitous platitudes and a little grass seed. It's obvious that after spending well over $10,000 with Lowe's, they are effectively giving us the middle finger. Like most big-box institutions, they could care less about the customer once they have his/her money. I will never do business with Lowe's again, and if you are thinking about it - you should seriously reconsider.

I was looking at buying some blocks and bags of marble chips to a DIY project, I don't own a truck so wanted it delivered. Sales people in the lawn and garden told me it would be $79 unless you had a contractors account which it would then be $20. My total was $116...

Try a local lumber yard / building supply. Mine delivers free for orders over $200. HD and Lowes both charge here

Lowes - Employee Experience Review

Yah, I worked there from 2010-2012 in garden. I'm an older person with work ethics, hard working, and good customer service. I also worked in plumbing over the winter, and Cashiering. I had to train newly hired youngsters and get on their *** all the time to help the customers and just do work, but they hid on me, rarely answered my pages, and we're always pulling out their cell phones texting their friends! Well, no matter what, I would help any customer in any dept. if I could, or I'd hunt down the employee in that dept. for the customer! I treated all customers like how I'd want to be treated. Well, I was fired after getting sick and needing surgery, they claimed I took too many sick days, well....... I was sick, but they only allowed 5 sick days per year, I had 8! The management does what they can, but it's a huge corporation where the execs. make the rules, you abide by their rules no matter what or they get rid of you. They don't want hard working, knowledeable employees, just warm bodies in vests on the floor! Go to Home Depot, I worked there for 8 years til I moved, always good customer service!

As you had worked there for over 12 months, if you had worked over 1250 hours in the past year you could have applied for a FMLA to cover the time for your surgery and recovery. If you met the qualifications and didn't apply they were within their rights to terminate you.

Every company has rules covering attendance that must be followed. Some are better than others.

Most areas that have a Lowes store also has Home Depot. Look at going back to Home Depot.

Did you forget to inform your managers and HR that you were having surgery or did you just call in one day and say "Oops I forgot to tell you I'm having an operation and I will be out for a week." I would have fired you too.

You are a dip stick and I can guess you are in no position or have never held a position that would be able to fire someone. Bucket month!

Lowes in Deltona, Florida - Their appliance warrantee is a scam and they will not honor it

I bought a 5 year warrantee for my Whirlpool dryer. The dryer has been serviced and parts replaced several times in six months...and it still DOESNT WORK, but they still say it has to break down 1 more time to replace it. How can it break down again if it doesn't work. Don't buy the extended warrantee or you will be posting the same complaint. I lost $900 on this one...they will offer loops holes to justify not replacing it, the lemon product. To add insult to injury Mike the manager at the orange city lowes says he will allow me to buy another one at the store cost, they will sell you a bridge if you listen to them. Don't trust them, it's all about money and policies that work against your security in their so called warrantee guarantee. Sincerely, Latara Walker Deltona, fl
