Lowes - DANVILLE VA. TRIED TO BUY A 1500.00 GIFT CARD with a check.

It was denied - got on cell and called bank. 4770.00 in checking.

Asked for reason and got denied is all we know. After 45 minutes in customer service I told them that home Depot probably had what I needed.

Lowes - Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I decided to shop the southgate Lowes for cellular window shades, after selecting (3) window shades I waited for them to be cut and employee walks away for a while and comes back to help someone else that just walked up. I let her know I was next and she ignored me. This woman has way to poor of attitude to be representing lowes. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no one was available to speak with me. # disappointed customer

Lowes Sells Junk

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
About a 2 month ago I purchased some Valspar spray paint from Lowes and it sucked. I needed it for 2 inch by 4 foot piece of trim and it would not cover. I google Valspar sucks and I found out that nearly everything Valspar sells is junk. Today a bought a flush mount ceiling light, The brand was Portfolio and like everything these days is was made in China. The workmanship is actually good but the design was awful. Seems American engineerds have never worked with the *** the design. The fixture had too much insulation about 6" and the mounting screws were 1/4" too short. This is typical of some MIT math nerd who couldn't change a tire in his own car if his life depended on it. Don't these *** test their designs? I was covered with insulation and I breathed a lot of it in. It took hours to install it. It should have taken 5 minutes. Portfolio is a brand of Cooper Industries and Eaton www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/lighting/brands/portfolio.html The CEO of Eaton makes over 8 million a year. With children in the world starving and workers being nothing more than wage slaves, corporate gangsters that get paid millions each year deserve terminal cancer and agonizing lives and agonizing deaths. http://people.equilar.com/bio/craig-arnold-trustees-of/salary/407541#.WMCcg2_yvIU Go to your local hardware store and avoid the corporate gangsters. PS Lowe also sells LG washing machines that blow apart and burst into flames. The corporate gangster who runs Lowes is Robert Niblock. Niblock's 2013 pay consisted of a $1.2 million base salary, $9.8 million worth of stock, $4.1 million worth of stock options, a $3.3 million bonus and perks and other compensation totaling $273,231. The biggest portion of Niblock's pay – his stock grant – grew 83 percent from 2012. It ain't just Trump folks! He's just one of the criminal elite.

Lowes just cancels orders for fun

My husband and I just had a problem with this. They left a message that our order was cancelled so we went to the store because our credit card said it was still charged. It was a two part order, half was to be picked up at the store, the other, a chest freezer was going to be delivered. We went to the store and were greeted by a rude customer service member. We asked for a manager and she rolled her eyes and told us if we want to fine. When the manager came and tried to explain the situation, we were even more confused. She said the freezer was still coming but the in-store pick up was declined due to the gift card not going through. It was extra confusing since the gift card was for $100 and the in-store pick up was $97 so three dollars were for the freezer, I had called the number on the gift card and they said it was completely empty. Finally I asked the manager if she had our stuff put aside stuff and if we could just pay for it now, and could she please honor our 10% off coupon. She said yes, we paid, and were about to leave , when my husband said "can you just check when the freezer will be delivered." When she checked she looked at us and said "oh it looks like the gift card DID go through!" She was kind enough to issue a refund to our credit card and let us take the stuff, but i'm so grateful we went in and checked up on it. We had to really fight! Next day we ordered a washer and dryer, nearly $2,000, and again they called and said "we canceled your order, we don't have it in stock." didn't say they could get it if we were will to wait, didn't say if another Lowes had it, no apology! I am thinking I need to go in to resolve this. It has been 24 hours and our credit card is still charged. I'm half expecting the delivery guys to call me any minute to say they are almost at my house! Now when I hear Lowes is having financial problems I know it's their own fault. YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE CANCELLING $2,000 ORDERS! We will take our business elsewhere in the future.

Why is Lowes not giving discounts to all veterans? Facebook has an incident that sounds disgraceful. I will get all my fellow Veteran's to use Home Depot or any other competitor until the corporate rules are hanged. Perhaps like United Airlines there is a lesson to be taught here!

I wish vets would quit crying about not getting a discount. You should be thankful when one is offered but where do you get the idea that stores owe you a discount? It would be great to see vets thank the stores when they give a discount but trashing stores that don't offer a discount isn't honoring the good name of vets.

Water rip-off

I returned two 5-gallon bottles and purchased two full 5-gallon water bottles, however, the price charged was the same had I not returned the bottles. I should have been more suspicious when there was a note saying they no longer used the coupons to show the bottles were returned. I questioned customer service and they said just tell the cashier how many bottles were returned. They "trust" you since you do not get your deposit back. Never go Lowes for bottled water. It would be cheaper to have it delivered.

Compalint on E.P.P.

This is a complaint for the E.P.P. Lowes sells during the purchase of any appliance. We purchased this plan with our $3000 Kitchen Aid oven from Lowes 2 years ago. Recently, we had a power surge and this burned out all of our appliances. We contacted E.P.P. and the service center came out 3 different times and replaced 2 boards. After they left, the oven was still not working. They wanted to return for a 4th trip to replace another board. I've had to take 3 days off work so far and the oven wasn't fixed. I call the company and spoke to a "Manager" names Andrew, who refused to provide any contact information so I can make a complaint. He stated his ID # was 153**** and his supervisor was "Karen." Unfortunately, "Karen" does not accept phone calls from the public. I was furious to hear that a manager refused to speak to a unsatisfied costumer. "Andrew" refused to assist me any further and refused to forward my complaint to his supervisor. This is a horrible company, and I hope a supervisor actually reads this. I will be posting this in various other cites until my issue is resolved. As of today, we are still without an oven. We are very disappointed with the service and attitudes of the personnel at Lowe's E.P.P. service center.

Lowe's Extended Warranty is a ripoff!

I purchased the Lowe's extended warranty for my fridge, dishwasher, and microwave back in 2012. At the time, LOWE'S serviced their own extended warranty work. They have since contracted with A&E to do the work. My dishwasher wasn't draining, so I called for service. The customer service rep. made an appointment for me the next day, but the technician never showed up. I called, and they said the appointment was in their system for 2 1/2 WEEKS later! That's NOT what I was told! I never received an email confirmation from them, and even called them the morning of the appointment to ask them to CALL ME when they were on their way! *** I rescheduled the appointment for the following day. The Tech never called me to let me know they were on their way to my house, as I only work a few minutes away. So I missed them and my dishwasher is STILL broken. Their customer service is just horrible. I feel like I've been screwed over, as Lowe's gave me the old "bait and switch" by selling the warranty contracts and not notifying their customers. I'm definitely not getting what I paid for! Don't buy a Lowe's extended warranty! It's a waste of money and time!

PAIN IN THE *** AS USUAL!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
As usual a nightmare!! Nearly every interaction with Lowe’s turns into a pain in the ***. It really sucks that we are forced to use them as they are the only large hardware store in town. Home Depot is more than 30 minutes away-the drive is feeling shorter every time I visit Lowe’s. As I have renovated my father’s home over the last several months I have spent thousands at Lowe’s on roofing, composite decking, plumbing, wiring, appliances, etc. Today I went in to pick up some insulation and a miter box table. When I got up to the cash register to pay the bloodshot, glazed over, half open, “Stoned” look of my cashier Chad at the ProDesk checkout should have told me there would be problems yet again. Dad ran his card to pay but when he went to sign the stylus would not work. Chad stood there for nearly two minutes with a blank look on his face before saying “Oh that was just fixed try your finger”. Nope that did not work either. Now thoroughly confused our Stoned out buddy Chad was really stymied. Again standing around for several minutes completely unaware of what to do the cashier directly across from him evidently saw the look of Chad’s last brain cell burning out and came over to try and help him. He suggested Chad call the ‘Head Cashier’ as and my aged father growing increasingly frustrated about technology he was ready to just walk away but we couldn’t as the transaction could not even be closed out. Finally after several more minutes Adele sauntered up and her first words were “Not again” then proceeded to give my father a hard time for not understanding why the transaction could not simply be cancelled and we could leave. Adele said we had to wait for the transaction to ‘Time out’ so several more minutes passed as we waited. Dad’s leg, in a brace, was starting to get very sore and he was getting very wobbly. My dad was unable to sign so the transaction should never have gone through but sure enough it did so after timing out we wasted more time for Adele to process a refund. I HATE THIS LOWE’S location. The employees have proven over and over they are ill trained, uninformed about the products they sell, and often even where they are located in the store. I will be praying a real home improvement store comes to Port Orchard.

If it's to the signing screen the transaction has already gone through. God himself couldn't cancel it.

Yes sometimes equipment malfunctions but that isn't the fault of the cashier no matter how stoned.

I'm sorry you had a hard time waiting out the literal 90 second time out before the physical signing option. If you think that's crazy good luck in the real world.

Guest

How are you coming out ahead by getting a refund because of an equipment malfunction? Sound like you will have to drive 1/2 hour to Home Depot and 1/2 hour back. Hope the extra hour of driving makes up for the short delay you had at Lowes.

If I may?

I looked, there are several locally owned stores that sell many home improvement materials within 5 - 10 minutes of the Lowe's. Perhaps giving a local merchant a chance, rather than a big box with problems?

Simply pointing out how asinine it is for someone to repeatedly do the same thing and expect a different result. You even included the ole "old" and "disabled" catchphrases, which show you are nothing more than a dolt trying to get people to feel sorry for you.

I can only imagine that your father is embarrassed that you are named after him. Every time he hears you talk, I imagine he wishes he would have pulled out.

It amuses me the no life trolls with nothing meaningful to offer. I'll assume you simply cannot read or are a *****.

If you did you would see they largely have a monopoly but yes thanks for trolling and your asinine attempt at wisdom. I'll offer a tip as well get a life lol.

The Worst Customer Service

I purchased a French door from Lowes on 11/16 and initially I let them know I was dissatisfied with the door and how it looked and it also leaks. When the installer came back out he even stated the door was warped and uneven. Four other installers came out, FOUR! They also said the door was warped and there wasn't anything they could so the job was left unconstitutional and Lowes blames us and will not do anything to help us solve the problem. I'm frustrated because I have been a loyal customer with Lowes for years and the top lock doesn't even lock completely. Corporate hasn't even attempted to help. I have tried to upload photos on here but it isn't working.

Delivery of Dishwasher Gone Awry!!

Updated by user Feb 12, 2017

Addition to first paragraph: Purchased dishwasher on 2/10. Original delivery time was setup for next day 2/11.

Original review Feb 12, 2017
I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes on Friday, 2/10. It was set up for delivery only. I was told someone will call me that night to set up the time of delivery. I never received the call so I called the store the next day and was told my window was between 3:00-5:00. I also found they had my phone number wrong. No wonder I didn't get a call. I was told the number was corrected. They also gave me a number for the delivery company. Close to 5:00, no one shows up. I called the company and was told the they showed the driver had already been to my house. They even described my house. I had been home since 2:30. No one ever rang my door bell. I guess they tried to call me on the wrong number, no answer, so they kept going. The company said the driver was already gone for the day and won't be able to return. I called Lowes and was told by the manager they would get the dishwasher delivered that night. After calling and calling and calling the store, I kept getting the run around. I had to drive to the store. I spent a almost an hour with the manager, Adam, trying to get it resolved. I was finally told it would be the next day before they can deliver. I found out my phone number had never been updated. I had to stand there and make sure it got corrected. They tried to give me a window of 9:30am-12:00 and I said no because I was at church from 8:00-9:30 a.m. I begged them to not send anyone before 11:00. I was assured they would relay this to the delivery company. As I am in church, my phone is silent, but I noticed calls coming in right at 9:15 from the delivery company and Lowes. I called after church and found out the delivery people were at my house at 9:30. I was floored! I called the delivery company and was told Lowes never told them I needed a later window. Needless to say, I am now stuck with having to wait all day for a another delivery between 1:00pm and 4:00. I am so stressed and upset and will think twice about purchasing another major appliance from Lowe's again. The communication is horrible between customers and their staff and contractors.

Poor Customer Service

I ordered 200 bales of pine straw and 150 bags of mini nuggets from Lowes in Conyers, GA. The delivery date was set and I was told to await a call from delivery and to stay by the phone. All that day... I did not receive a call from the driver and received nothing. I called the store and they said they could not find the order and I would have to return to the store to determine the problem. So... I returned, the customer service Rep., her name was Farrah, miraculously found the order but said I would have to cancel it and re-enter my order. She gave me a second delivery date and they were a no show. I called the store and a delivery representative said that my delivery would put the driver into overtime and that she would cancel the delivery charge and promised that my delivery would arrive first thing today. Well today is the third delivery date and it is 11:00 AM. I have not heard from Lowes and again called the store and was told that they were just now loading my order onto the truck. Will I get my order? Who knows.... at this point I am not hopeful. Do they not want our business? I am steamed that I have to sit at home by the phone for 3 *** days just to get my order. If I were the store manager, someone would be fired.

Lowes - Exhaust Hood Installation Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stay away from lowes in Lincolnton NC Remodeled home using their great promotion 7.99 for 84 months. Ordered everything on same day. Told a $500 range hood would cost $114 to install, installation guy shows up and tired to charge me additional $250 more. Lowes said they would pay it since it was their mistake. Got my next bill and lowes tried to charge me $370 for the installation of that hood. Got a $1249 quote to install cabinets and baseboards, got billed $2500. All of my stuff was to be put on the promotional deal...nope i had to keep calling credit card company because of the way they billed everything. Jus a big mess. They still cant explain how in 5 months and $15104.97 later, I still owe $290, when the total bill was only $15081.78. BEWARE THEY WILL CHEAT YOU!!!!

Let's see, 8% of 15,000 would be $1,200 interest for a full year. Sounds like you were charged about $325 over 5 months. That doesn't sound unreasonable.

Lowes Rebate Run Around

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased 5 appliances from Lowes.com on black Friday 2016 totaling around $5000. Part of the reason I bought from Lowes was that they offered a rebate of $3-400 on the GE appliances I bought. Each appliance description stated that it was eligible for the rebate. I called Lowes to apply for my rebate on 11/28. On Jan. 13, 2017 I got a card from Lowes stating that the receipt didn't indicate 'qualifying appliances'. When I called 'customer care' they said the receipt was lacking an invoice number. So I had them email me my invoice number which I resubmitted via fax. After 2 weeks I called & they said they needed an official receipt; so I had Lowes create another receipt for me. I faxed the new receipt. After another 2 weeks I called & was told my receipt didn't include the invoice numbers. It says "invoice number" right on it. I resubmitted via fax a second time. When I called today I was told that there was no record of either fax (despite being told 2 wks. ago they DID have record of my previous faxes) & that (of course) today was the last day of the rebate. I faxed the same papers a THIRD time today. I am livid & beyond frustrated! From now on Home Depot will get my business. And I am still waiting for delivery of these appliances too. I see now why Lowes customer service rates 1 star. -10!!

I had the same situation from a Black Friday appliance order of 6 appliances, all over $396 each. The problem was that when I placed the single order online, when it was received at the store, their in-store system separated the one order into many invoices, thus invalidating the rebate eligibility.

I went throught the exact same scenario that you describe of going to the store, faxing the in-store printout of the their invoices (which should have been on one invoice), and many calls to the Rebate Center to verify everything. It took about 4 months of persistence, but the Rebate Center finally mailed the full $450 rebate. At that time, I was in a unique situation where I could afford to persist and I didn't really care how long it took, I was not going to have the appliances delivered until I received the rebate. I was determined to get the rebate.

What I would do differently if I do the Black Friday appliance order again: 1.

Do not submit online, instead mail-in the rebate form with the store printout of their invoice(s) along with my one order form printout (from my printer) showing that everything was ordered at exactly the same time in the same order.

Include a copy of the confirmation email that I receive. Highlight and circle all the important numbers on everything to make the job easier for whomever is going to look at the paperwork.
