Lowes Foods

Moved here three years ago from neighboring county. Thanks to bad economy food prices have gotten ridiculous. Lowes Foods in Mountain View south of Hickory NC is the worst. They must have done some kind of research and found a lot of high income retirees in the area. They draw you in with sales and except for those items you can not afford anything. Everything is almost double price. A 3.00 item in any other store costs at least 5.50 and in some cases more. The prices are unaffordable and you would think the government would regulate such none sense. The only people you ever see are parked in the parking lot?. Must be in neighboring stores. Maybe this will right itself.

Knowing this is in the wrong complaint area, you should shop somewhere else, problem solved. And why would we want to regulate just another thing.

They have too much control in the first place.

Horrible fence installer from Lowes

We paid a lot of money to Lowes to have wooden fence installed. Their installers, from 75 miles away, showed up three hours late with a nail gun and an electric chainsaw. They eyeballed and lopped off the posts with the chainsaw. They pulled the old posts and left the yard uneven when they concreted the new ones in. They started installing the fence 6" high with a big gap at the bottom, because - the ground was uneven! When we asked them to fix it they said they don't touch the dirt. Unbelievable! Don't go to Lowes for fence installation!

Wish I had seen these posts before I had install our fence at our new house. Took them almost 5 months to finish and it looks like a child put it up!! I used my lowes card and got 6 months interest free...what a joke when they charged me in April but didn't complete the crappie job until the end of August!!

Good to know, as I had an estimate for a fence given to me last week which was EXORBITANT! This helps significantly. ,)

Lowes appliance installation (not)

I, recently, purchased a gas stove from Lowes. I paid $36.00 for Lowes to do the installation. The installers connected the stove to the gas supply, turned on the gas *** and informed me that there was no gas coming out of the line. They departed after that. I had the gas company check the meter. They informed me that gas was coming through the meter. Following thorough and time consuming investigation, it was discovered that the Lowes installers, in order to adapt their 3/4" supply line to my 1/2" gas *** used a reducer fitting. Problem is the reducer fitting had female FIP threads and the gas *** was a male, flare fitting. In order to make this improper connection, they wrapped the threads with an abundance of Teflon tape and, on top of that, they brushed a bunch of pipe thread sealant on the threads. End result: all that tape and pipe thread sealant clogged up the gas ***. This is installation work at its absolute worst. Do not use Lowes installers, under any circumstance!

What difference does it make where you bought the appliance? Do you really think the JennAir appliance you buy at Lowes is different than what you buy elsewhere?

If it's the same model # there is no difference between Lowes, Home Depot or your local appliance store. The repairman was probably from a local appliance store and just trying to get you to buy the products from his store. You need to stop blaming the retailer. They didn't make the product.

The sales reps from the appliance manufacturers will tell you their products are made to last 10-12 years.

The refrigerator you had that lasted 20 years was made at a time when products were made to last. Consumers don't want to pay the price for quality any more so don't expect your appliances to last forever.

Ugh. They don't make things like they used to.

People want the high quality items for a low price. Sorry...can't have it both ways. Both Chinese made pieces of ***, I'm sure.

But that being said, how the *** is it Lowe's fault if something breaks after ten years?

I'd say you got your money's worth. Go buy new appliances, bro.

Why is it Lowes fault??????? They did not make the refrigerator and stove.

My $300 baby monitor *** out on me after its warranty, but I didn't blame BabiesRus. My Roper dryer *** out on me after 10 years, well after the warranty, I didn't blame Lowes. And my Whirlpool dishwasher is crapping out on me now after 1 1/2 years, after the year warranty, I'm not blaming Lowes. If you bought these same appliances at Home Depot, HH Gregg, Sears, etc, would you blame those store???

Shouldn't you be complaining on JennAir and the manufacturer of your refrigerator??? Shame on you.

Lowes in Plano, Texas - Extended Warranty run around!

I bought my husband a $600 grill 2 years ago & did purchase the extended warranty! Well it's falling apart...called Lowes store #2884 who put me through to the extended warranty dept. They told me to call the company Char-Broil who makes the grill, get ALL of the part number/quantity info & call them back they in turn would send me parts to FIX IT MYSELF! So ok I got all of the requested information & called back. They were to send me parts in 7-10 business days. A week later I get an email stating they are just going to send me a gift card to buy a new one! COOL! Well I follow up on that email 2 weeks later when I still had not received the gift card only to be told they were sending a check instead because they didn't have the store number I purchased the grill from! Pfshhh! Ok! Well 2 more weeks still had not seen a check! Follow up AGAIN! To be told well we have to put a stop payment on that one & send you another! Which takes 21 more days before we can send you another. This has been going on since May 25th & is still not resolved!

Lowes in Dayton, Ohio - *** customer service

I purchased a ceiling fan and a light to have installed in my kitchen. We bought them on Monday. The installed sales dept. called that day and said our installer would call by Wed. When I had no call on Wed., I tried to call into the dept. but was put on hold for 15 minutes without anyone ever answering the phone in the dept. Then Thursday morning I called the store again. A very nice young man said I should have gotten a call already and he would take care of it. Eight hours and no call later, I called again. This time the woman on the phone gave every excuse out there, first blaming the contractor and then blaming her co-worker in the office. At 9:42 p.m., I got a call from the contractor. He cannot install them until next Thursday--10 days after purchase. I should have just hired an electrician on my own, but I thought by setting it up at Lowe's I was saving myself some hassle. Clearly that is not the case!

Lowes does not stand by their service and replacement policy

November 2010 I bought a frigidaire refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The top and the bottom both have icemakers. Model # LGUB2642LFO. In the first year the icemakers broke. Yes, both of them. The electrical board had to be replaced. Next year the same thing happened. The electrical board was replaced again. Then the icemakers stopped again. The water tube was replaced, the lining around the door was replaced and some other parts, that took three seperate calls to Lowes within a few weeks time before it was fixed which counted as 1 service call according to Lowes because it was the same problem I called on each time and one month had not passed between calls. Within a few months the ice makers stopped again. The service man came out and made some adjustments and said this model is known for this particular problem. But since there were no parts replaced it did not count as a service call. It now stopped working again. I called lowes again. We are now 2 years down the road. I requested a replacement. By some act of God the icemakers just started up again on it's own. In the mean time I called Lowes to see where we are on my replacement. I told them it just started again on it's own and they said that since I haven't had three completed repairs requiring parts, ( it only counts as one repair if you call with the same problem within 30 days) I do not qualify for a replacement. The supervisor agreed that even he would be unhappy with a refrigerator as unreliable as mine!

Lowes uses bad contractor for installs!!

In St. Louis, MO both Lowes and Home Depot use a contractor named Trend to install kitchen counter tops. I had heard bad things about them but didn't listen! First of all the guy who was sent to measure was late. I was told that he would use a laser to measure, he instead brought long metal bars to measure. He then proceeded to bang those bars into my walls and pictures hanging on my walls!! No respect for my time or property. When he was done measuring he asked me to read and initial several disclosures on his form. One disclosure reads that during the install if Trend damages my walls or cabinets it is my responsibility to repair their damage. After the display that this guy put on banging up my walls I certainly wasn't going to let them do anymore damage that I would have to repair. We discussed why they would not be responsible for damage, he couldn't assure me that they would repair any damage that THEY CAUSED, so I refused to sign. Then to complete this fiasco the guy bitched to us that he "would be late to his next appointment". Amazing considering that he was late to our "appointment". I was also told that I would be assessed a $60 fee.

(1) you should of listened, your bad

(2) maybe the templater got there late because he had to deal with another customer like you before he came o your house

(3) there are many ways to template a countertop, lazers are not always accurate, so who cares, it's not their fault you were told wrong, blame the store on that

(4) so the walls were banged, not damaged, normal for any construction, just wait and see when you have any countertop installed by any company. You try carrying that extremely heavy material in a home, trying to avoid walls, etc

(5) they don't repair damage, they are not handymans :sigh

(6) that form is standard for every install, not just yours and people sign it everyday

(7) he had to leave because he got suck with your *** and the customer before

(8) a cancellation deserves a trip fee, he waste his time, gas money, and had to deal with your ***, he should of got more money

(9) refer to number 1

I hope you cancelled for the sake of the store and countertop company. You would probably try to rape both of them out of money for anything that happened, even if it was smallest thing. I actually feel bad for the templater that had to deal with you

@lesson learned

Sounds like you carry a chip on your shoulder. You probably do installs for Lowes too....

Personally I agree with most of the things "Lesson Learned" said. If ANYONE is doing work in my house and damages something they should and will repair it. I was a contractor before I retired but I would never ask a customer to sign any paperwork to the effect that was said to "Lesson Learned", however if I damaged someone's property either I repaired it or got someone to repair it if I could not....

ALWAYS use a licensed and insured contractor. Lowes stores do not use licensed contractors in most cases and I have found they do not stand behind their work either.....

Lowes in Seattle, Washington - Employe smoking issues

Lowes hires smokers but won't provide them with a smoking area and will not allow smoking on there property , so the employes must walk off site to smoke. And they use a public trail next to my house ,leaving butts everywhere and stinking up the place , I've talked to the manager ,and the *** hat doesn't care. and zero respect for the neighborhood so *** Lowes. 69 70 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 78 79 80 81 82 83 84 85 86 87 88 89 90 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 100

What does more men working at Lowes have to do with this ??

Anonymous
#676694

Lowes employees are not allowed to leave company property while on the clock. If they are out on this trail during their "break" and not lunch hour, they are in violation of company policy and subject to termination. Their "break" is on the clock, the lunch hour is unpaid and off the clock.
