Lowes does not honor their expensive warranty

I bought a pressure washer from lowes. They sold me a 3 yr warranty to cover any mechanical faliures. They didn't bother to mention that the warranty is void if machine is used for commercial use. Now that my machine needs repairs, Lowed is trying their best to wiggle out of their end of the deal. I paid $64.95 for the warranty and when I took my machine to the shop the shop charged me $35 for some simple repair but did not change the pump which was why I took it to the shop in the first place. Also their manager at Lowes pretended to really want to help me but conviently was currently out of loner machines so I was stuck in the wind to go dig out of savings to buy a new machine so that my business could function for the day. I will run an add in my local news paper and tell everyone I see if lowes does not fix my machine!

Your Lowes extended warranty runs concurrent with the mfr. If the mfr warranty is 2 yrs, you have purchased a 3rd year.

If it is 1 yr, you purchased years 2&3. That itself is highly deceptive. Also, no one will ever ask you what your occupation is, much less a cashier. Also, you are not covered for any part deemed a regular maintenance item, which there are plenty on the pressure washer.

Plus, any damage is not covered. You have an argument that is bigger than the store.

The terms and conditions clearly state that the plan will not cover commercial use.

Lowes in Hickory, North Carolina - While shopping at store on 01/08/2010 was discriminated against by Frank at Charlotte store

While shopping at location other workers called for help in Key Dept. once Frank arrived at dep[t. the other workers explained to him that I needed assistance with locating an item. Once Frank arrived at dept he states "SHE DON'T NEED MY HELP, at once time he proceeded to assistant a white customer who was in line behind me, never did Frank address me or look in my direction. Once he completed his transaction with her he walked away. I called the store manager and asked for the Home Office number she stated Lowe's had no home office.

I've worked for Lowe's and I have to say that this company works very hard at training their employees to be polite to all customers. Poor customer service is never accepted, and it is extremely easy to get in touch with management at any point in time if you do run into someone who isn't doing their job properly.

That isn't to say that your claim isn't a valid one.

Not all employees do what's expected of them and sometimes a few bad ones might slip through.

However, it shouldn't have been difficult for you to contact management at that store or even go above their head without an issue. Their corporate contact information is also available on their website, as well as at each store's Customer Service Counter.

Why do you assume it is a color issue, maybe you are just not very attractive and Frank wanted to help the better looking woman. Did that ever occur to you? Stop wearing out the race card already.

You should have went to the manager first and aired your complaint, they have cameras to look at ad verify your story. Next step is to call their corporate office, believe me it will be addressed.

They don't like negative publicity. They do focus on customer service, though there is a bad apple here and there.

Lowes in Malta, Illinois - Is Staff challenged in some way?

When reading all of the negative posts concerning Lowe's as either a company, it's practices, or products, have you all noticed the by now all-too-insipid reply that Staff gives to each and every complaint? He ALWAYS just reponds with "Contact Lowe's CEO", NEVER gives an intelligent, in-depth reply to a customer's issue, whether it be insightful, thoughtful, or even humorous. Perhaps he is merely a disgruntled ex-employee who has issues, is perhaps slow, or cannot respond with an intelligent, honest reply. People look to this sight for help, not be directed to another website.

Lowes Drywall

Lowes Drywall sucks it breaks and crumbles very easy. When you screw it into foundation is starts to break and crumble. I would not advise anyone to buy drywall from them. The service also sucked. They need to hire people that know what they are doing.I called them on the phone to tell them about what had happened to the drywall and they basically told me I was screwed out of the money for the drywall that should have never broke or crumbled. Lowes Employess are major ***. They lost me as a customer. I thought customers where always right boy was I wrong.....Again Lowes Sucks....

Can Staff EVER write ANYTHING other than Contact Lowe's CEO @ www.lowesceo.com? Obviously he is challenged in some way.

Just go back and look at some of the other posts by him on Lowe's Pissed Consumer. For once, I and I know a LOT of other posters (and readers) of this forum would enjoy reading something by him other than getting that all-too-old line of his. Anyway, back to the issue at hand concerning the drywall. No, the drywall should not have cracked or broken, you should have spoken directly to the store manager if he was available.

I know as an employee of Lowe's, that IF the story is ABSOLUTELY true as you say it is, the store WOULD take care of you. One thing I do feel in ALL of these negative posts is that in virtually EVERY instance, only ONE part of the story is being told and the truth as to what is the ACTUAL story is inevitably somewhere in between.

Lowes in Oak Creek, Wisconsin - Refused to give me sevice

In regard to the disgusted door recipient at Lowe's, and their decision only to buy small items at the store. We here in Oak Creek Wi will never give our store another cent, including buying a bag of salt. In 2009 we purchased 2 Larson storm doors at the Lowe's in Franklin Wi. A short time later, we noticed that the striker plate on the rear door was bent. After a month of hassling, the installer came back and said "What happened", and proceeded to bend it back into place. One week later it had bent again, and this time it broke. The front door which has the same gauge of striker as in the back is beginning to bend. This door is little used, (UPS drop-offs, etc), and the plate, I am sure, would go the same route if this door received continuous use. After I told the people at the store that I thought the plate was too thin for the weight of the doors; they started the "˜BLAME' game. "Did someone try to break into your house??" , "Do you have these doors on windy sides of your house??" These are STORM doors aren't they??? My wife said "I guess the only solution is to have you take them off of our house." The doors are still under warranty, and the first payment hasn't been made. The last time we were at ACE hardware I had the broken plate in my pocket. I showed it to the Friendly Hardware Man. He said "This was holding a door closed?" He showed me the aftermarket plates they stocked, and were at least twice as thick as those on the Larson doors. It's getting cold here in Wisconsin, and the saga continues………..

I know there is a class action law suit against the maker of the composit decking but here is my question. Shouldn't Lowe's be suing them instead of the consumer? Lowe's bought the product and sold it to it's consumers. I was part of the suit, Lowes...

Lowes Internet Sales giving out customer information

I recently purchased a few items from Lowes Home improvement online sales and when I received My order I found that I was short two items ,which can happen from time to time however the disturbing part is that along with my invoice was a invoice from anoter customer's order with his address and american express payment method for his order ,upon contacting lowes online sales person (name was Chris ,would not give his last name)I was sent several generic emails stating that they would researchh my order and send me my order ,no mention of what they thought about the fact that I have received someone else's invoice with personal billing information on it.I have contacted this (Chris) in qoute custiomer service ,which is far from customer service he will not give a manager's or supervisors name to further this complaint ,Has anyone else had this type of issue with Lowes internet sales ,You might want to think about it before ordering from them and risking your personal information being sent to other customers.

Same here but got Lowes invoice which showed they paid $74 and billed me $138. I told the clerk it was THEIR copy but she insisted it was mine.

Internet orders are sent directly by the supplier not from Lowes. Later discovered I could have driven 30 more miles and got it off the shelf, same price.

That would make since but if you do some checking you will find that Lowes as well as walmart and many other store have a online price and a store price and the online price is almost always cheaper ,so I think that in most cases it would make better sense to pay the lower price and buy online except when dealing with a company like lowes that not only messes up your order but sends you peronsal information to other customers. The radical concept is to pay a lower Price!

Anonymous
#103873

This problem would not have ever happened if we would just not be so damned lazy and drive over to the store and make our purchases there (I know, a radical concept, because after all, the store IS probably at least a half mile away!) instead of ordering stuff off of the computer.

Lowes in Kansas City, Missouri - NonDelivery on Washer Dryer

We purchased a washer and dryer combo from Lowes. We were told that it would be delivered the next day. The following morning the delivery driver called for directions. We informed him to call before he arrived. When they didn't arrive between the 2PM-4PM time slot we called Lowes only to be informed that the driver had been to the house, knocked on the door and left a tag. We told the store manager that we were home waiting for the call. He rudely explained that the driver did what he was told to do and since we didn't answer the door, he left. We were then told that we may get the delivery the next day or maybe not for another three days. The store manager was very rude the entire conversation. When we realized that we may not get the washer/dryer for days and the manger would not set a new appointment we told him that we would just go to another store and purchase a washer and dryer and then get our refund from Lowes...his comment, "do what you have to, I don't care." We went this evening and purchased a better washer and dryer from Nebraska Furniture Mart for a lower price. When we went back to Lowe's to get a refund...no apology and the manager was just as rude as he was on the phone. Because of their attitude we will no longer purchase any item from Lowes. We have a Home Depot down the street and too many other stores to shop from and refused to be treated so badly.

Dont ever get behind on your Lowes Project Card!

Do not EVER get a project card and lord help you if you lose your job and get behind. They will call you EVERY DAY including 8:30 on Saturdays and on SUNDAYS! They called about every day last week! Even if you have set up a payment plan with them; it does not matter. TIRED of the harassing phone calls! There ought to be a law about them calling me so much? Their statements are not up to date and you cannot even determine what your correct payment is. It does not help to complain to them about the starements either.

Calling someone who lost their job and got behind is just RUDE. I agree with the complaint but the fact is that GE Money is the culprit.

Lowe's made a bad choice in getting in bed with these folks... it's really hurting their reputation.

GE Money charges loanshark rates even if you pay on time. It *** me off that we bail out the banks and they turn around and stick it up our butts.

Lowes Sux

We bought a new door from Lowes-it leaked. We had one of their techs come out and check it, he said it was water running under a factory made adjustable strip, not installation fault. He adjusted it as best he could-but said would still leak a bit(on our brand new hardwood floor) also said he would make a report to the corporate offices. We called looking for satisfaction-since we bought defective product, they denied fault and claim. All they really denied was the rest of out lifetime in business, we just moved in and are in the middle of major renovations--none of which will involve their company's product. We will make sure to tell their competitors they have Lowe's shortsightedness to thank for all the business......
