First they said it was a two day project that turned into a week long project that actually over a month later is still not done. They also said they would be in contact from start to finish and I was never contacted. I came home one day and my driveway was blocked with materials then a few days later they just showed up to start work didn't even call first. The gate latch on the walk thru gate is already falling off, one of the boards is too short leaving a gap at the top and they never finished the custom gate on the motorhome side. No latch, no wheels they just attached the old wheel from the old gate and it just drags on the ground and there is no way to keep it closed. For something that cost almost $14,000 it was a really *** job!

For the amount of money you spent on the fence you would be best served by contacting an attorney for a free consult to see what you can do. Since you apparently contracted thru Lowe's, it is up to them to provide a quality product and a proper construction.

I expect the sub contractor(s) they hired to do the job were at fault, but that's Lowe's problem. A good attorney can help you make things right, altho you will have to pay him.

However, you can also ask for attorney fees, etc. The sub contractor most likely has nothing but Lowe's does and should be on the hook.

Resolved: Appliance Delivery failure

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jul 22, 2017

Fridge was delivered just before 9pm on 7/21/17. One day after delivery date.

I was told several delivery drivers and a manager quit so most deliveries are being rescheduled.

Had they at least called me and explained rather than not call/not show at all I would of been empathetic.

This experience has made me very leery of purchasing any item that may need to be delivered from Lowe's ever again.

Original review Jul 20, 2017
Ordered a top freezer, bottom fridge appliance in cash July 14th, 2017. Paid for recycling of old freezer and delivery on July 20th, 2017. Nobody ever called me to confirm delivery time. I called at noon on delivery day, confirmed we were on schedule. Was told they had a driver get hurt and it would most likely be the afternoon today when it would be delivered. Nobody ever called me so I called at 5:40pm on delivery day and was told someone should have called me but the delivery is not happening. They could schedule me for a delivery on July 29th which is next available. No calls, no confirmations, no explanations, no customer service. What a horrible first experience with Lowe's!

No Call, No Show

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We recently purchased a counter top from Lowe's. Our experience was very good and we were happy with everything. We decided to put in a fence in our back yard and trusted Lowe's in Warsaw, Indiana to do the job. June 14, 2017, we paid over 10,000.00 to have fence put in. We were told it would be 3 weeks before installation could be started as they had to order materials. Ran into Sales person, Gavin Weeks about 2 weeks later while getting some paint. He told us that our fencing was in and we could expect installation to begin July 14th. 2 days before and day of, husband and I took off to make sure ground was prepped and see if installer needed help. The 14th came and went. No call, no show. On 16th, I called the store to talk to Sales person. He was not in. Left msg on his cell phone, no call back. Finally called complaint number. they told me someone would call me back. Manager Jeremy called me back and told me he had to call because of my complaint. He told me that Lowe's no longer handles installations. It's all 3rd party now and they have no control over when our fence would be put in and that I would just have to deal with it. Told him, had we known they had no control over their promised work, we would have ordered elsewhere. He said there was nothing he could do, bid me a good day, and hung up phone. I spent the whole rest of that day getting mad and began my journey the following morning. I called customer service starting at 8:00a.m. the next morning, determined to get some answeres. I was given so many stories as to why the fence could not be installed. I talked to 16 different people from local, area, and regional offices, each with a different story about different supplies that had not come in. One person said 4 posts had not come in, on another call, another person told me a gate had not come in, yet another person on a different call told me they were waiting on a missing panel. The last person I spoke with said they were lacking 16 bags of gravel! I called the store back andbthey said they had 31 bags of that type of gravel on the shelf. Now I'm really mad. I did more digging on the internet and found a number for Lowe's headquarters in Mooresville, NC. I made 1 last call to regional office and told them that if I didn't get some straight answeres, that my next call would be to their headquarters. The lady I spoke with said she would call me back with answers. The rest of the day went by with no call, so before office closed. I called regional office again and was told they had 24 hours in which to call me back. In the meantime, I get a return text from Sales person, telling me I got him in trouble, and now it's out of his store's hands. Today, I get a call from an installer from 40 miles away, saying he will be installing the fence on the 15th of August, and that was the best he could do. It's too late for us to change plans right now. Other fence installers not associated with Lowe's are booked for the rest of the year. Had we started with other installers earlier, we would have our much needed fence by now. My advice to you...Don't order from Lowe's! If you have already ordered and have a complaint, call Mooresville, NC, and save your sanity!

Lowe's and Home Depot have both been using third party installers since day one. AND those third party installers make less than 50% on Lowe's and Home Depot jobs than they would have if Lowe's and Home depot hadn't been involved. So the problem is this, Lowe's really isn't responsible, (sorry to tell you that), the installers aren't particularly concerned about doing a job and making half as much on it as they would on other jobs (who would?), and thirdly, most of the installers that contract with Lowe's (and of course Home Depot) are struggling to get jobs, which means that they aren't necessarily the best installers out there.

Sorry, but that's the reality of doing business with a cut throat discount home improvement store.

Does the customer pay the third party contractors or Lowe's? If they pay Lowe's then they are the contractor and third party is the sub contractor.

Therefor Lowe's is the go to for the problems. If Lowe's is only paying 50% to sub contractor then shame on Lowe's and now you have let the rest of the English speaking world know what kind of *** they pull.

Lowes Carpet Scam $97 install at Lynnwood WA (196th) store, This store SUCKS! Mistake after Mistake after Lie after Lieh going thruough!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I visited the flooring dept at Lowes on 196th St SW, Lynnwood Wa on July 13 to order carpet for 2 homes my sister and mother own. I filled out the flooring folders w/correct install address, my email, names and # for owners. Installers came out and measured. That's when the *** started. The flooring salesman got the addresses and names mixed up. When we figured out the error, went in to pay for carpet, they had 4x more pad on the estimate than what we needed. When that got corrected, we paid the invoice and were told install would be 7-10 days. We got home and noticed the install address was incorrect (the other house). After repeated calls to Lowes to get the install address straight, they said they would have to credit and recharge to correct the address. They finally did this today, June 29 and now I'm being told the install wait starts today (after being told prior by 3 people at Lowes that my install date would not be affected by their screw up on the address. The $97 install is a scam. On the invoice they charge you for the pad IN THE INSTALL PRICE. The $97 install or FREE INSTALL is merely a scam, lost leader. You have to look carefully at the amounts for pad and carpet and make sure they are not overcharging you for those items to make up for the FREE INSTALL. I will never use this store again for carpet purchase and install. Everyone there seems to have no brains. When the store manager called me to "apologize" I said I didn't need an apology, I needed performance. I need the carpet installed like they said, which would have been coming up this week. Now we have to wait another 12 days! BAD JOB LOWES.

Lowes Credit Card - Don't Do It

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I opened a Lowes Credit Card and the associate made the zero interest sound like the best way to go. I've learned my lesson. You are hit with an absurd deferred interest charge when it ends. So much for paying over the minimum to get it paid off faster. The interest hits and takes your balance up higher than your original purchase. When you call and ask them to help you out they tell you sorry you should have been aware that the promotion was ending. Bad business Lowes and the company that holds the credit card. I cannot believe this practice is legal. Believe me, if I tried pulling something this I'd be in jail. To all those thinking about getting a Lowes Credit Card think again. Definitely don't take advantage of the zero interest as you end up getting screwed. You're better off to go another route.

Read any agreement before you sign it. The no interest promotions are all the same.

It's right there in black and white. It will tell you there is no interest if the purchase is paid of in XX months. If the purchase is not paid in full within that period of time accrued interest will be applied. They even tell you what the balance of the interest is in every bill you get.

The agreement also tells you what the interest rate is, and it is usually well over 20%. It is a very legal agreement, and it works well for people that abide by the terms of the agreement. NEVER buy products on a no interest promotion if you don't have the money available to pay it off.

There are many lower interest options if you need longer term financing. You only have yourself to blame for not looking at what you were agreeing to.

Meggie Bjp

Dear Jesus. Do you really think they are offering zero interest out of the kindest of their hearts? No, they are banking on schmucks to somehow still not pay their bill despite having it spread over many months.

Bad experiance with purchase and instllation of Pella patio door

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went to Lowe's in Framingham MA to purchase a Pella patio door with installation. Went to door and window dept. associate told me that if I wanted them to install the door they would have to come out and measure the opening. I agreed and paid the $35.00 fee for this service. I was told I would be contacted in 2 business days to set appointment for measurement. 4 days later still no call. spent 4 hours on the phone with no luck. Went to the store and asked to speak to a manager. After half an hour manager said He would personally call the company to get this done. still no luck and manager is ducking me. Then I tried to purchase the door on line. transaction went through YEA !! got a call that the door would be delivered on Thursday great. Thursday morning store called the door is out of stock. I questioned this as the web site had 3 in stock ?? These people said they could not help me and refund my money. I then went to the Dedham MA store and ordered the door it came Friday but still no refund on the original door and not instillation. DON'T USE LOW'S, customer service is not responsive POOR Employee performance. 3 days still haven't got the refund for the door and never got the $35 measurement fee returned..

Window blinds installer has been here 3 times so far

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased custom blinds for our new home which took several weeks to manufacture. The installation was supposed to take 1 day. The hardware was sent to our local LOWES and sat there for 2 weeks awaiting the installation which could not be scheduled until after they had received our product. The first time the installer was over an hour and a half late saying he was stuck in traffic and had to stop and get gas on the way. Some of the blinds are about 18 feet from the floor and are motorized. During the first install time he said they didn't send the remotes so he would have to come back for that. "They" also sent the wrong hardware for our vertical blinds for the sliding glass door. And 1of the valences was to long and he didn't bring a saw. He said it would be a min of 2 additional weeks to get the correct hardware and the remotes. Again we had to wait for the hardware to arrive before we could schedule the installer to come out AGAIN. The next time he came out he forgot the ladder he needed to program the remote for the upper blinds. When he went to install the vertical blinds he ,at that point, finally realized he never verified the rest of the hardware for the verticals, we are still missing the clips to attach the valence on the verticals. On the 3rd trip he was able to fix the motorized blinds. It is going to be ANOTHER 2 WEEKS to get the correct clips and then we have to schedule a 4th install. So far the one day install has been going on for over 3weeks and we have to wait at least another 2 weeks. The installer has been at least 30 min. lat 2out of 3 times, and has not brought the correct tools 2 out of 3 times. Overall I would rate my experience with Lowe's and there installer as very poor, less than 1star. If I performed at this level, I would be out of business.

Delivery

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On June 11th around noon, we placed an order for 3 sheets of plywood and a shower stall. No email, phone call, text msg or notice whatsoever about when they would be delivering. At 10 am the next morning we get a voicemail that they had been to the delivery spot and since no one was there, they had left. Again, absolutely no warning or notice at all. When husband called, we were told that they do not have to wait and we were given 2 hours notice. Which we were not given any notice at all. $100 for a delivery I needed as soon as possible, and was told that I had to now wait an additional 8 days to schedule delivery again. My husband called this morning first thing about when delivery will be today and was treated horrible by the woman who answered the call. They have forever lost our business. We have just began this home remodel and will now be going to Menards or Home Depot for our construction/supply needs.

Installed Feb. 2017. Kitchen and utility room. Ripped out, June 2017. Installation error caused water damage including black mold to baseboards and drywall. Situation: Purchased Geospring Water Heater from Lowes in 2012. Very satisfied. Similar to an AC unit, these drain condensation through a condensation line. Code requires drain. Installer installed vinyl planks over the portion of the drain needed for the condensation. This caused water to go onto the floor, then under the baseboards, then under the floating floor and through the kitchen. Because of the location, I did not realize the problem for 4 months. Who would think a floor installation could cause a leak? Baseboards had some mold, but drywall had terrible black mold. Floor was ruined. A swimming pool underneath. Insurance company sent restoration out, they ripped up the floor, sealed the utility room until the mold issue was resolved. Between my deductible, and new seepage rules, 14 days to notify insurance company, even if concealed. I will be paying this myself. Lowes never came down to inspect. I am not handy. But, if I was installing a floor, and saw a black open end tube over a drain, I would not put a floor over any part of the drain. Will be going to court. Photos are of black tube blocked and open.

Never use the stores installers. Lowe’s and Home Depot Installers are usually not licensed.

So that makes them Jake legs.

Lowe's doesn't care about customers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer & dryer from Lowe's in Ellijay, GA. Bought the extended warranty. Had to keep the pair in storage for a couple of years after moving to place that wasn't large enough. Recently took out of storage & started using. Extended warranty is still in effect. Clothing wasn't getting clean. Watched through clear lid to find that clothing wasn't even getting fully wet through entire wash cycle and not moving from the top. Lowe's sent repairman and then a Maytag factory rep. Both watched a load through cycle. Both said they agree does not wash properly, does not add enough water and is rough on more delicate clothing. Both said they wouldn't have it and both said I need to get another washer with tall agitator & deep water option. But both also said they would not tell Lowe's this - they would have to report that the "machine is working as it is DESIGNED TO WORK". I pulled up my model's manual online. It even states in the Troubleshooting section: If you experience - Not cleaning or removing stains Possible causes - Wash load not completely covered in water Solution - Washer senses load size and adds correct amount of water. This is normal and necessary for clothes to move. Do not add more water as this lifts garments off washplate, resulting in less effective cleaning. Hmmmm- To clean clothes & remove stains, it is necessary that the clothes be covered in water; but in this model it is normal that all the clothes are not covered through the entire cycle and they don't want you to add more water. THIS IS INSANE! Lowes will not do anything unless a repair person tells them the washer is unrepairable. I even tried to get them to send out a manager from the local store. "They don't do that."

Lowes - Lowe's Online is consistently awful
Third time's the charm. I won't be screw again by Lowe's. I spent an hour of my life I will never get back on the phone with them tonight because I placed an online order to pick up items clearly marked in stock at the store. Today, two days after I placed the order, I check the status of the order and it says "in process." I call the 800-number, and they contact the manager of the store who can't "find the order." How is it that I get an email confirmation of the order, another email thanking me for the order, the customer service representative can pull the order up with the order number I provide, yet the mouth-breathing store manager has no clue about the order? The one item that wasn't in stock and was to be shipped is already en route and will be here tomorrow. To add salt to the wound, neither of the two representatives tonight could have cared less that I was frustrated and didn't get my order. I cancelled the order. This is actually the third time this has happened, twice with the same local store. I have NEVER had a negative experience at Home Depot so I must have had a moment of crazy to even try Lowe's again. I'm a permanent former customer. I'm from the old school, when customer service was actually a thing. It's a cliche, but it's true. Lowe's sucks and sucks big.

Ordering online and expecting excellent customer service? I guess you're not too "Old School".

Get used to it.

The people working at your local store do not benefit from sales on the internet. They earn their paychecks and therefor dependent upon customers purchasing at the store.

Guest

Sometimes the website can't update quickly enough for the actually inventory. People steal things, boxes go missing, *** happens.

You're the reason customer service isn't the same.

We try so hard to help everyone, but people always find room to ***.

Go "old school" and actually go to the store instead of ordering online.

You know, every hour you spend is one that you won't get back. Don't be so dramatic!

Improper install of washer and missing pieces

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
terrible installation of washer and missing pieces of dryer. When When the delivery truck came they claimed didn't have the needed installation cord and couldn't install the dryer as promised. Also, they didn't have any tools and were asking me for pliers and a screwdriver. Then, when they installed the washer they didn't level it, or put it in the right place, or attach the hose guides. Next, when I called the store to fix the situation I was put on hold for an hour twice and told they would call me back which they didn't do, until I called corporate customer service. Also, 4 out of the 6 people I talked to at Lowe's either put me on a hold of longer than 20 min to get rid of me and were outright rude and clearly apathetic.

LOWE'S HAS NEW, "NO RETURN" POLICY....

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Lowe's in Prattville is AWFUL. Please be aware that a "NEW" policy is in place.

If you purchase a weedeater, blower, lawnmower, pressure washer and it stops working.....you have 30 days to return it. PERIOD. You have to have the receipt showing the date of purchase. If it's more than 30 days, you will be taking your non-working item right back to the house!

No return, no exchange....no working ***-eater. In other words, you are paying $199 to use a ***-eater 2 times.... THIS IS WRONG. What happened to customer service?

What *** made the decision to refuse to either give you another working item, or a refund of the purchase price? After 47 days, I have a *** eater that will NOT crank. I made the manager go outside and pull and pull and pull.....to prove to him, that this new item was NOT cranking...... still NO resolution.

I had to leave the store with a *** eater that will never work. How long will they be able to continue ripping their customers off? I hope Home Depot puts them out of business. And with this new policy, it should not take long.

If you want to spend your hard-earned money, please don't give it to Lowe's.

They are unfair, and have policies that are non-negotiable. They ripped me off, don't be next.

Manufacturers warranty. Most items come with at least one year.

It sounds like you need to enter in to some "ANGER MANAGEMENT" therapy. And I wouldn't be stuck with bringing a non-working item back home.

I'd just leave it right there in the store when they would have informed me that I had been screwed.

No use lugging around a piece of worthless junk. I guess that a lunatic could make a big show out of it by smashing the item on the floor in the store, but I would just walk away and chalk the whole thing up to tuition in the College of Hard Knocks.

The whole story wasn't told here. Lowes may have a period of 30 days where they will take it back but the manufacturer will usually have a 1-2 year warranty.

It is only useless if you are too lazy to take it to a service center and have it repaired. Read and understand warranties and return policies before you purchase a product so you know what to expect.

Purchased a fence from them. They installed the fence too low in the ground. The bottom rail is just above the dirt. They kept delaying fixing it until the 1 year warranty expired. Spoke to corporate and they want to charge me to raise the fence to the proper height. The fence company they use is Price Family Fencing. I'm very disappointed that Lowes won't stand behind their work. The fence company should have realized their mistake. Come see the terrible job in villages of Denver.
