I purchased wood for a large deck 6 years ago that is now rotten

We built a new house six years ago we built a large deck on to the house so far we have replaced about 6 or 7 deck boards that have rotten to the point of you could fall through them. We still need to replace at least 7 or 8 more before it is over be will be replacing the entire deck. The wood we bought was suppose to have a lifetime warrenty of about 40 years. What would you advise we do about this problem. I have a beautiful deck and would hate to see it be torn off because of fauilty materials from your store.

there is no one in the country who will guarantee wood. that is an asinine thing to even suggest.

it is biodegradable and no company would do it. trex is not even guaranteed

contact Lowe's or your contractor. Your contractor is either out of business, bankrupt or has fled the county by now, so get out your warranty papers---you did keep them, I assume---and contact Lowe's.

The guy should come out and inspect the deck and he can then tell you whether it is the wood or some contributing factor that is making the deck rot. You may have a problem with water, drainage, who know what, that is making the deck rot away.

Horrible customer service

Heard some Lowes stores are closing. No shock to me. Worse customer service in the country. Even the regional managers don't get back to you when you have a problem. The floor I purchased looked like my 11 yr. old installed it. They were highly insulted that we wanted it corrected. Guess they think once it's sold, it's sold. Well quess what? People tell other people and your stores are closing. HURRAH!!!!!!! I hope the sincere employees find another job soon. They'll be much happier at a reputable establishment that they can feel proud about working at. GOOD RIDDENS LOWES!!!!

it is due to LCD problem. Since i have the wtnarray period i consulted HTC AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE - CELL INFOTECH, Egmore, Chennai and HTC SERVICE CENTRE - Basvangudi Branch, Banglore, but i got ill responses.

MR Uday Kumar, 988409****, Cell InfoTek Chennai, ill-treated us,i came all the way from banglore to chennai to get it serviced but there is no proper response and especially the guy guided us badly.My whole 26,000 rs is wasted now.

Whos gonna answer this. This is the way you treat your customers.I have no complains over the phone, it is the smartest phone ever but service centres are too bad, please educate those service providers to behave properly with the customers.Please take necessary steps to bring back my phone and take immediate actions on those service centres.

Yeah I just lost my job at the Lowe's that was number one in customer service in the region, so saying you're glad stores are closing jus goes to show how idiotic your comment is. If your complaint made it to regional staff it is because you are ridiculous in what you are expecting from us, and also being so rude and obnoxious that they have to keep passing it up. Its customers like u that we can't stand always want something for free, if u read your contract the installer should of gone back out to fix anything u did not like, there's no way the store manager said it is what it is, and didn't offer any help or have the installer go back out, u must have wanted it done for free that's way they said SEE YA!!!!

Always had good dealings with Lowes. Home Depot cust serv was distracted (texting on cell phone) when I wanted to buy a washer and dryer and I complained to the store mgr.

His reply: "hey, we do our best. Have a great day."

Lowes turn me down for credit

I just got a new home last april and a new car.I don't have credit cards But I have and unsecured cash loan for a loan company for 9 years.My credit is clean . Lowes has ran my credit check 4 times and there not pulling up any creit that shows my payment history.Loews tells me there looking for a credit history.There it is and there not letting me have there credit card. They tell me all the time they only know one way to pull credit checks and other times they tell me there is a few ways to pull it.The lies are unreal.I realy don't know whats there problen is maby RACE who knows.And its the same with Dell .I have had DELL run my credit a few times and they don't see me unsecurd revoling credit line.Are they blind.

Genius, it's the BANK that's declining you, not Lowe's. If you don't understand that, you don't need a credit card. Also, you should know that cards without a Visa, MC, etc logo are harder to get.

I HAVE PAGES UPON PAGES AND YEARS UPON YEARS OF EXCELLENT CREDIT, WITH ONLY 1 NEGATIVE. WHERE I REFUSED TO PAY A BALANCE ON A DISCOVER CARD FOR A $2500, RETAINER FEE FOR AN ATTN.

Retail credit cards occasionally get denied when a customer has no credit card history, and also when a customer has new large loans. I've seen quite a few people who were declined get declined because of a new mortgage on their credit report. Part of your credit score is determined by your total debt on the books, and a new home/new car probably has your score in the dumpster.

Shut my credit card off for nothing

i went to lowes for a few things, bought more then i planned, tried to use my 200.00 lowes credit card i had for years, just to find out it was no good. wow it was embaresing. i always paid my bills with lowes, there excuse was i didnt use it enough, credit cards are for hard times, as well as if you dont carry enough money,etc...they could of told me instead of embaressing me. this pissed me off, so now i use home depot and the little hardwares in town, sorry jimmy johnson, i must dump you as my driver now, i dont approve of lowes tactics......

You ar placing the blame in the wrong place. You may have a credit card that says Lowes on it but it is actually issued by another company that deals in credit. Your complaint should be directed at them, not Lowes.

i was spotting someone on the forklift and a customer came threw the blockers and i told him to give us a minute to take something down for a other customer.The customer got upset and stared to cruse at my so i told him that there is no need for that and that we will bring the forks down down so he can grab what he needs after i said that he got more upset then he spit on my face so before he could he could spit at me again with one hand i grab his shirt and the other hand i covered his mouth so he couldn't do it again cause i don't know what he has i didn't want to get sick.One someone spits at u that is considered assault that means someone could come in there and hurt u and u cant do anything about it, Lowes is wrong for not trying to protect there employees

Purchase of window shade.

My wife received a call from Lowe's at 0850 pm concerning a shade she purchased too replace a damaged one.The new shade was not a room darkener shade even though it said it was. The shade did't match the other 14 in the house which was the same brand and bought also at Lowe's in the past year. She was told that Lowe's sometimes orders different types of shades.Anyhow the complaint is the person calling was asking way too many questions about a darn shade and calling at such a late hour.This call came from opinions counts phone #336-714**** and of course this comes up as a wrong number when calling back

That is the customer complaint line calling you back. The only way they would have your number is if you called the customer complaint line or filed an online complaint.

They would have called normally within a few moments of your initial request, or within 24 hours of a complaint. If you thought the shade wasn't right you could have brought it back into the store just to compare and return it for what you really wanted.

Composite Decking rip-off

I know there is a class action law suit against the maker of the composit decking but here is my question. Shouldn't Lowe's be suing them instead of the consumer?

Lowe's bought the product and sold it to it's consumers. I was part of the suit, Lowes sent me the paper work, but you should have seen what they wanted you to do to get any satisfaction. Unbelieveable! I now have a hugh deck on the front of my house that is warped and molded and there isn't a thing I can do.

They wanted me to take a picture of the end of one of the boards with the code on it so they could be sure of when I bought it...My deck is enclosed around the bottom and I don't have any of those things, they were removed when the deck was built. Lowe's knows when I bought the material, they sent me the paperwork. Or how about they want me to cut a piece of the deck board with the mold on it and mail it to them. What has this world become?

I spent $2500.00 on decking material plus the cost of having it installed and now I have to pay to have the mold removed several times a year because it looks so awful. I'm done buying anything at Lowe's..they don't stand behind their products.

I was going to buy Choice Dek post and rail sets but they don't seem to be available anymore at Lowes. After reading about all the mold/warping/etc.

with this product, I think I'll go with pressure treated wood and stain it.

They actually are trying to help you by testing the faulty material you purchased to verify it's faulty. Follow the procedures if you want it fixed

Who made the decking? Lowes didn't, they just sold it as did other stores.

Over the years I have had both siding and shingles go bad. It was a manufacturing problem and there were class action suits in both cases. Not only did I get replacement product but labor as well as a resut of the lawsuits. Much better than the regular warranty that would hve only covered the product.

Be smart and fill out the paperwork they sent you and provide the product samples and information requested to support your claim. You will probably come out ahead.

Lowe's does not honor warranty

I bought a Troy Built riding mower from Lowe's with an extended warranty. After 4 months the mower died and I can't get it started. I called Lowe's and they gave me a time and date when they would pick it up in a week for repair. I took off of work and nobody showed up on the date of pick... not even a call. I called Lowe's and they told me someone would call me back in a couple of days. Well it's been 3 days and haven't heard a word. In the mean time my 3 acres of grass are growing. But doesn't seem like a concern to Lowe's. They sold me a worthless extended warranty. I'm going to report this to Troy Built and the attorney general's office of Illinois.

I'm also having an issue with their extended warranty, but on an appliance. Lot's of room to wiggle out on these things, so my advice is don't pay the additional money. They represent that their warranty will take care of virtually anything, but rest assured...it won't.

Warranty repair

on sept 8th the va hospital brought a lawn tractor to the store located on peachtree industral blvd in chamblee for repair. our shop was called on the 22nd and told the the lawn tractor was ready. upon going to the store on the 23rd we were informed by the manager that the item was still waiting on corp. to authorized the work to be done. we find this totally unacceptable. the lawn tractor is essential to the hospital being able to provide our veterans with peace of mind upon coming to receive service. I'm sure some of your employees are veterans and would be upset if they knew that lowes does not share their views that the men and women who have put their lives on the line does not take to maintaining of their hospital s equipment a priority.

Lowes sucks

3 times they have not pulled my orders for my jobs. I go in. tell them what I need, give them THE time and date for p/u. Usually in 2 days, and they either lose the paper work or can't find the order. They cost me WAY to much time, and in my business...time is money. these KID managers don't know the real world of work. I'm tired of the B/S. Home depot is the same way. You are making a big mistake if you install a kitchen with lowes

lowes sold me a kitchen with an incomplete design missing an entire wall of cabinets-dead space and appliances that do not fit into the cabinet openings after $20,000.00 was paid in advance. lowes uses subcontractors to do all of the work and you will end up managing your own job as anything would be better than the lowes team-especially in port charlotte florida. please do not find out the hard way-do not use a kitchen designer at lowes as they do not have the experience necessary to complete the job right. lowes is the worst!

Valspar paint is the worst paint we have ever used

I paint a lot, and am very careful in my prep work and application. I make sure surfaces are clean, painters tape is applied well, and use quality brushes and rollers. We have always used Behr or Benjamin Moore in the past, and this was our first time using Valspar paint from Lowes. This paint was thin and watery and left millions of air bubbles when applied with a roller. It also ran under the painter's tape like you would not believe, ruining previously painted walls. Coverage is nowhere close to what is advertised on the can - so we had to buy more of this *** paint to get the coverage we needed. I will stick to using Behr or Benjamin Moore in the future. Valspar paint is by far the worst painting experience I have had.

Install

I went to Lowes to get a storm door. I wasn't sure of the size needed so I paid 35.00 to have a contractor come out to measure the door way for me. Now getting someone at the help deck was the 1st step, thank goodness the computer asks the ?'s otherwise I would still be there trying to order a contractor but 3 days go by and ( I ) call Lowes when no one has called to schedule this measurement I paid for. They tell me someone will be calling in the next 2 days so I ask if I can change my home # to my cell # so I don't have to be stuck to my house 3 more days but to my surprise they can't change the #. So finally I get a call from a company called Madison Construction that tells me they will be out in 3 days to do the measurement. I wait and wait and wait. Perhaps they measured a door for install but it surely wasn't my door. I guess I am to assume that who ever got their door measured will also get the door I ordered? Have to call the helpless deck again on Monday. Good luck to you if you use Lowes skilled contractors hope your experience is better then mine. PS if you get a door by accident pass it my way.

Same deal. Lowes is totally incompetent.

We went in, talked with salesman, chose a door, signed an order, paid $35 by credit card. Two weeks no call. We called them. They would send out someone.

One week later...nope. We called again. Someone did come and measured. Never came back.

We called them. Asked what is going on. The manager faxed us a contract. OK we signed and faxed it back.

Same person called again and said we didn't fax it. We did it again. No workman. Week later we called to ask.

Days later they call back and ask if we have cancelled. We said no we are waiting for our door. She answers "Come in and pay for it and we will schedule it". I asked if she pays for restaurant meals before eating them!

I told them they were incompetent and if they get an order this screwed up, I don't want them anywhere near my house.

Credit our account and don't ever expect me to visit your store again. :(

Defective refidgerator and horrible/rude service!

I bought a rather expensive stainless still fridge from Lowes and from the beginning, it didn't make ice. Lowes would not provide any assistance and at one point, the manager (Yuma Arizona store) approached me and through intimidation basically said there was nothing they would do and to go through the manufaturer. Two years later, I was FINALLY able to get the manufacturer to refund my money! The time and energy wasted arguing with Lowes was enough to for me to never purhcase an item from them and to tell others to go elsewhere. Home Depot or a community store is now my choice of stores.

So it's not my imagination! Judging from what I've found here and elsewhere on the internet, Lowe's managers are routinely rude to customers.

I thought I was somehow special. I'll drive 1,000-miles to their competitors before going into their store.

Lowe's The Lowest Customer Service

Not recommended for the purchase of appliances. When I started shopping for a new range I went into the store and asked the appliance manager what they had that met my specs, he told me to shop online. So I did. Then I tried to order and the website said they were having trouble and to call the corporate office. So I did. After waiting forever on hold, they told me to call the local store. So I did. I ordered the from the store, and they told me to wait one week. So I did. I called after one week and I got transferred from department to department. I hung up. I went down to the store, and Pono the manager was too busy to talk to me. I insisted, he told me to shut up. So I did. I got my stove that day, but it had freight damage. So, you dont buy from them if you are smart.
