Lowe's royally messed up our carpet installation

We have had a nightmare dealing with Lowe's carpeting. They special ordered carpet then realized the night before installation that they forgot to order enough carpet for the entire house, even though they had the full figures in front of them and had come to our house in person to measure. A subsequent reorder and they realized, whoops, we forgot a second time to order enough carpet. My husband and I, and our 6 month old baby, have been displaced from our home for almost 3 weeks now, and there is no end in sight for when the carpet will be completed. And worst of it is they don't seem really concerned about helping us and don't seem to realize how much they have completely disrupted our lives. They don't really apologize and their continued incompetence is truly mind-boggling. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for your flooring needs and do not use Lowe's.

Call the manager (store manager) explain what you just wrote here and ask what he plans to do for you. If he says nothing ask for his market directors number.

Likely he will ask you what you think is fair. 50% is a nice square number. It hits the stores margin so they make nothing. Be polite and play the politics game.

Dont be satisfied until you get the number you want. remember you are the customer with the signed contract that they failed to produce upon. Dont mention legal action or they will not talk.

Good luck. Bet you get half your money back!

I am going through the same thing right now. We moved into our condo one month ago a needed new carpet in both bedrooms.

We went to lowes, took home the swatch board, picked our color and placed the order the next day. We had someone come measure two days later. Then went back and paid and made the order official. We were told 10 days which became over two weeks.

the whole time we didn't really put our things in the bedrooms beside mattresses and dressers. Everything else was in the living room and dining room. Our place is only 1000square feet. Finally the day of installation arrives and I am at the end of my rope living in chaos.

My husband and I get up, move the mattresses onto our balcony, dressers in the bathroom and wait for 10 am. At 11am, we get the call that there was not enough carpeting for both bedrooms. Someone ordered the wrong size. Unbelievable!

We took off work, moved furniture and we were awaiting our carpet just to find out it wasn't happening. There was only enough for one room.

My question is, what do I do know? Go somewhere else and cancel the order?

Wait it out for the right size?

Raise a stink and demand serious discounts? Does anyone know how to deal with lowe's?

We were in your Anaheim store this past Saturday code#10300-3****-14567. Behind the small appliances you had a large clearance rack, on this rack you had a long piece of medal with sharp edges. The person I was with is tall 6'4", he ran into this knocked his glasses and hat right off. It could have been much worse,it could have been his eye. He is not the type of person to pitch a fuss. I asked for the manager when we went to pay for our purchase. No manager came, I told the two female employees to do something about the sharp piece of medal. Three days later he ordered new eye glasses due to the large scratch the sharp medal caused. If his glasses did not get scratched in your store due to this safety hazard he would not have had to purchase new glasses just yet. I feel some sort of compensation is in order.

@Consumer, Our store has a safety walk every morning, done by the mod. After the walk, he will walk with you and point out what has to be done.

If these safety issues are not taken care of you will be written up. And how would you know they are watching every consumer?

Feeling a little guilty there? And what the *** is "stloe"?

Guest

People like to comment garbage, the real fact is these home improvement stores as a matter of fact none of these big stores care about the consumer they only care about your money. They should have periodic safety checks, but instead they watch constantly on the cameras for people stealing, they see every move every consumer is making, but noone is ever around for assistance especially the managers theyre never around, bet if you stloe something everyone would be around, they see everything they choose to ignore it they are pieces of gargage!

John N Mzy

I understood the meaning of "medal" for metal. Unsure of how anyone of even low intelligence could or would make an issue of it.

However, the answer here is to call corporate and complain. Lowes is a pretty good company and will do what is right, I am sure.

If not, then don't shop there again. Or, the next time you hear an ambulance siren, run after the lawyer chasing it down the street and hire him.

Guest

Call Lowes corporate and complain. You will get action.

Store level management does not care about you.

As for Really!, not all people are as perfect as this Really buffoon. The man is looking for help in his situation with Lowes, not some *** like Really!

And I am sure Really! is familiar with metal since he has a plate of such material covering his pea sized brain.

Guest

Do you mean METAL as in iron, steel? Did you also know they have spell check on the website for you people

Shaw rug

I ordered a shaw rug from Lowe's on 2/5/11. I was told it would ship on 3/16/11 and of course it did not come. I called the store and the salesman told me the company said it was on back order and would ship on 4/8/11. It was the 17th of March and still no rug, so I went to the store but no one seem to know what was going on. The saleman who sold it to me would have to check on the order. On Tues. April 19th he called the company and said it was on back order and would be shipped on the 2nd of May. He said he talked to the supervisor and she assured him it would be shipped on that day. Needless to say I was pissed. If I do not receive it by May 5th I will cancel my order. The company that makes this rug does not seem to care if the customer receives the merchandise or not. When they cannot even make a call to Lowe's (without them calling the company) to let them know it is on back order is very bad PR in my opinion.

Lowes extended warranty is a scam

I purchased an expensive Bosch dishwasher from Lowes and an Extended Warranty to go with it. A few month ago i call Lowes because the dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes and was making unusual noises. They sent a guy from a company they subcontract, whose name I do not remember. This repair person came in looked at the machine, turned it on and off and in 5 minutes declared there is nothing wrong with it. A few months past and the dishwasher stopes working all together. I called LOWES again and requested repair. This time the sub-contractor was "a&e factory services". That was 3 weeks ago. A person did come over and took the door off. I sat with him while he stumbled thru his diagnosis. He determined the pump needed to be replaced and ordered one on the spot. ups would deliver in 2 days to my home. Before he left he tried to put the door back on the machine unsuccessfully. I stepped in and suggested that he put back the 2 plastic parts that he thought was garbage. Obviously I was right and I helped him put the door back on. No parts were ever delivered. I got 3 different stories from 3 customer service operators. All contradictory, part was delivered, part was shipped yesterday and part is shipping within 24hrs. Lowes refuses to assign anyone else for the repair. We had to pay for the repair. LOWES EXTENDED WARRANTY IS A SCAM TO GET AN EXTRA COUPLE OF HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM YOU.

AGAIN! Lowes warranty do not do what they are suppose to do!

We called almost 4 weeks ago to use our warranty to get our ice machine fixed on our whirlpool refrigerator fixed. It took the warranty company 8 days to find some one to come out and fix it. This guy was 120 miles away and has every excuse in the book why he can't make it. First he had to order part and then it was back ordered.

He told us a total of 5 times he was coming to the house and never showed up. This last time we called the warranty number and they told us he was in the area and would be there shortly....... @ 9:00 pm... They said they would have someone call us in 3 working days, I refused to do this another 3 days and had them call on Monday.

They called...... This is the real kicker.... She told us that it had been going on to long and we would have to get our own repair man and pay him and they would reimburse us for the work only!!!!! The mileage would be on us!!!!!

This is not the first time we have been screwed by Lowes warranties. And by the way the warranty still has a year left on it.

I am sick and tired of being ripped off by warranties from Lowes!

Guest

Shoot - it's none of those things.

Call a priest - the dang thing's possessed!!

The EPP is not a scam, however it is very flawed. I also recently called for service only to have both Lowes and the Subcontractor perform less than par.

My mower is a lemon and I paid $1700+ for this lemon. It has many issues and is constantly a thorn in my side. Even their policy states after four exact issues they will replace the mower entirely; they have failed to do so. I have been given the run around by Lowes and their customer service third party persons.

I have filed a small claims suit against Lowes. My state allows me to recover up to three times the lost amount up to $6000. Look into the laws of your state. It is very expensive for a company to pay their attorneys to go to court. They usually settle out of court due to the expense.

Unfortunately you have to threaten to take them to court. Being an attorney I always keep detailed records about each call, who I talked to and what time. I have estimated that I will be getting about $4786 back due to their flawed system. Hopefully this will encourage Lowes to make their EPP process much more effective and easier for customers. But more than likely it will only cause them to either remove it entirely or make it more expensive.

Guest

Dear ex-employee ***, the money does not go to the store manager...yes it is profit, but it isnt like the manager walks out with the cash....your an ***.

Guest

If you ever have a problem no matter how small the situation, call the customer care line,,Store management fear these people and you will get answers immediately,,if you dont call customer care,,they will just waste ur time with bs promisses

Guest

all the money from the lowes EPP (extended protection plan) goes to the store manager, useless to the consumer, never ever get the epp,,ur only paying the store manager,,employees also get a (SPIFF) or commission on EPP sales

Lowes credit services

I have complained 3 times to Lowes.com that I am not receiving credit statements from them. I get the run around that it is Mycheck.com's responsibility and I need to call them. I consider that BS! Step up to the plate lowes and take responsibility. I consider their behavior fraudulant because it equates to late payments and just another way to rip customers off! Lowes needs to be responsible for the 3rd party players they choose to handle their credit accounts! How many other customers are experiencing the same thing? Maybe it is time to consider banding together and finding an attorney to hold them accountable? I will never shop at Lowes again!

Beware of Lowes' Carpet Measurement Tactics

My experience with Lowes' carpet installation was shocking and insulting to decent, honest people. Thankfully, I halted my purchase and will never buy carpet from Lowes.

On a room that measured 11' 4" by 19' 4" (rounded up to 12' by 20' - 240 square feet), Lowes told me I needed 300 hundred square feet of carpet from a 12-foot carpet roll. Using a 15-foot carpet roll, Lowes told me I needed 375 square feet of carpeting to cover 240 square feet!!

Further, when I asked for the measurement chart for which I'd paid $35, I was told I couldn't have it and that I'd only paid for the estimate, not the drawings! Buyer Beware of this overmeasurement tactic.

I have same experience with lows

Guest

When I questioned my Lowe’s measuring guy he said “ I can’t do math”. Pretty much any excuse in the world would have been better for a measuring guy! ‘

Guest

Same thing here. Way over on measurement. When Lowes runs a carpet special which

includes carpet, pad, move furniture, haul away old carpet at one low price - beware.

They recoup their money for all these extras by quoting more square feet than you really need!

Guest

We just had a measurement done for ourselves. It came in way high.

Two rooms thats all and they're not connected. Even though it is free install, move furniture, take away. They nickel and dime you for everything. Apparently it costs more to install on cement (tack strips still in place) to cut out for the fireplace is another charge labeled as custom, also you will find out yes they will take it away but you will need to pay for the dump charge.

And a charge for upholstery? Even sales department didn't understand that one. But here's the hilarious part...I ask the salesman why is the measurements different than the last time they installed. Wait for it...he said that things change over the years.

Hum apparently our 36 yr old cement floor has grown. I understand stand if he was saying something about the carpet but he wasn't. We showed him our 7 yr old lowes reciept showing the measure before. This isn't our first rodeo, at one time we even installed carpet and rent the stetchers.

We are replacing flooring downstairs because of water damage. Salesman said he would call estimator and figure it out.

I think we might just take the 61.00 loss for the estimate (oh ya it also costs more to measure cement, would of been 45.00) . Not feeling very confident, but darn I wanted that PET carpet.

Guest

Was quoted an estimate for twice the actual Sq feet. Had the floor measured by 2 other contractors and an insurance adjuster.

Lowes tells me they have to go by what the measurement is that their person did.

Awful experience. I want my 35 dollars back

Guest

I'm a flooring installer for Lowes. The figures the gave you are correct. Sometimes customers only like the 15' wide selection of carpet and the waste amount is up to there budget and discretion.

Guest

is 15' x 14' and 9' x 10' 385 sq ft no it is 300 sq right

Guest

I'm not happy either. I just found out that I paid for 550 sq ft of carpet for about 360 sq ft of floor.

I understand some leftover, but a 8x10, 6x5, 5x5 and several other pieces that could have been used in closets (not normal closets. only 3 ft high) Also, I was charged for the padding for the same, but there was no scrap pieces at all.

Should have let the contractor do it. I thought he was high, but turns out he was cheaper..........

Jeff Z Bdm

Seriously you customers need to research things before they come in blindly. If you only knew what goes on then you would be more inclined to be nice.

You can't come in and want Special Order carpet that week installed and you have to realize that if you just ask to get the difference of your waste taken out of the cost of the pad then we will lay down and do it. God!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Jeff Z Bdm

Not true. We are forced to go by your measurements. They are high compared to what is actually needed.

United Flooring Hudson, FL

United Flooring gives terrible customer service and floor installation services. United flooring will lie to your face and give you the worst installation from Lowes subcontractors ever. United flooring scheduling from lack's ontime commitment's. Installers are less than professional. United Flooring does not keep installers accountable to industry standards. United flooring provides all floor covering installations for Lowes and covers Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Makes floor industry look very poor at best primarily for bad service. Why Lowes allows United flooring to install the flooring professionally is a question that only Lowes Installation services can answer. I highly recommend you do not use United Flooring.

I believe it was a father/son team and they worked quickly and left a neat work area when finished.

Its how they are treated as to how they treat you. Don't expect miracles just sincere and honest efforts

Lowe's in Enid, Oklahoma is much worse, bribing officials and inspectors, lying to OSHA for the many roof leaks leaving puddles all over their floor, and poor work environment. The managers are the worst that I have ever dealt with, and I have visited over 32 states as a construction contractor working with Lowe's. :zzz

Derek Xkq

You are getting what you paid for. Let me explain.

Bye going threw loews you are using a middle man. Not to be ignorant but common sense tells you that if a company is taking less money to perform a job there is a very good reason. If Loews is taking a cut then United has to pay their employees but taking something out of the pot.

(Wich is more than what they pay their employees)you are going to get a *** install. Go with a local service, not contrator who subs out the job.

Yes, sounds like another customer never wanting to take responsibility for keeping track of their purchases. How about you call your credit card company and find out what day you purchased the product.

Then along with your credit card number and your purchase date, they could look up your receipt.

But heavan forbid that you do any legwork whatsoever and not rely on the store to do everything for you. So typical.

Valspar Paint from Lowes

-painted a bathroom with Valspar, "Farmers Market",Allen and Roth, ar225 over 4 weeks ago and it will not dry. I applied a primer over the wall paper, let it dry and then applied one coat of valspar, waited 24 hours and applied another coat. I just remains tacky to the touch, I have tried running a fan and then a heater and fan but it didn't make any difference. In 2 other rooms I applied primer over wallpaper but used a different brand of paint and it looks beautiful. The Valspar that I used supposedly has a primer already built in. Ã…nyway, will never use this stuff again. I have been painting for over 40 years using a variety of brands and never had this happen. Now what do I do?? If I wipe the wall with a wet cloth the paint comes off onto the cloth. Someone suggested repainting over this stuff with a semi-gloss latex as that may work. I had used an eggshell valspar latex. Mayb u should removed wallpaper? Just mayb?

Guest

I painted our bathroom with Valspar just over a year ago, and it is still tacky to the touch. Every time the kids shower, the walls get wet and stay that way for at least 8 hours, even with the exhaust fan and AC going.

I'm just now painting over it with primer and then recoating with a Sherwin Williams paint. I will not use Valspar again.

Guest

Very very dissatisfied and threw it out and went back to Ben Moore!

Guest

Valspar is the best

Guest

I too painted my bathroom 4 weeks ago using Valspar Interior Kitchen & Bath Enamel and it is still tacky to the touch. The bathroom was not used for over a week after it was painted while I did other remodeling work in there.

Tonight I felt it again but it is still tacky to the touch. I have used Valspar products for a long time just not this type of paint.

Think I will go back to Benjamin Moore. The bathroom will not be used again for another 6 weeks for showering since that bathroom is not used except when I have company so we will see how long it takes to dry without any additional moisture/humidity.

Guest

Is anyone interested in beginning a class action lawsuit for damages incurred for paint not drying?

Guest

We painted our bathroom in May with Valspar "Ultra Premium, Interior Kitchen and Bath Enamel". Waited 3 days to put on 2nd coat since it was still tacky/not dry after the recommended 30-60 minutes to dry as stated on the can.

We then went on vacation for a week, came back and it was still wet. It is now the middle of August and it is still wet. I called Valspar and spoke to a VERY rude and argumentative girl. She said I would have to remove the paint from the wall at our own expense.

Incidently, the paint drips on the outside of the can are also still wet. Clearly a defective paint.

Guest

painting over sound wallpaper is perfectly fine( meaning wall paper is not peeling) the use of an oil based primer is always recommended for this application. If top coat color was a deep color, primer could have been tinted to a neutral gray to give best coverage and hide results. If paint was subjected to moisture prior to it curing ( running shower with little ventilation) this could have also contributed to it still being tacky also over application is always a common mistake

Guest

Same experience w/ Valspar 7 yrs ago. I painted over primed sheetrock.

It was tacky and smelled wet for 3 yrs. Couldn't use the room. Their rep looked at it and said he didn't have a sense of smell so couldn't tell. And the refusal to dry?

He said I should expect that w/ the color I chose. He offered me another 2 cans of Valspar paint. I refused. A professional painter said it was a problem w/ their base they tinted and every paint co knows when this happens.

Just that Lowes didn't make it right. It took 3 summers of windows open for the smell to finally dissipate. Now I only purchase paint from a paint store. This problem is uncommon, but when it does occur the homeowner is really stuck with a mess.

And professionals know exactly what it is.

A responsible company would apologize, bring in a crew to remove it and then reapply w/ non-defective paint. But not Lowes/Valspar.

Guest

I can't imagine why the paint would not dry as you state. I have used Valspar and never had a problem.

Who advised you to paint over wall paper?

They gave you bad advise. Never paint over wall paper.

Don't blame Lowe's you are to blame too. How do they know that it is NEW, they can't tell.

I have had mine for 3 yrs and it still looks new. You blew it when you didn't put your receipt up. They only keep your history for 3 months and it is up to you to keep that information. Don't try to put it off on Lowe's or any other store.

Take some responsibility in that you didn't check it out and how do they know you didn't run it every day for all this time and wear it out? They don't.

SO you blew it. SOrry, but that is just the way it is.

It is three completed service calls before a replacement request can be made. From the horse's mouth!

Guest

I agree with Mike Jones, do you run to the car dealer and demand a new car when the tire goes flat driving home from the deal? No, I know it's hard to comprehend for some folks, but....Lowe's, Sears, Home Depot DO NOT have a team of elves in the backroom assembling appliances! The manufacturer's after 7 days INSIST on at least ONE Good-faith repair attempt or they will not credit the store, no matter what the store is.

do you get a new car if you have a flat tire? Does a dealership make cars? Good luck getting any money from Lowe's.

Fisher Paykel Smartload washer & gas dryer.

In the past 6 years I had 9 service calls for my fisher & paykel washer & dryer. As I look at postings on net I see these same complaints from many others. I do not understand why a recall has not been issued. The dryer bearings were replaced twice. The washer leaks. The circuit board was replaced on washer.Today I'm waiting for another service call for loud noise & vibrating dryer. All I can say is my previous WHIRLPOOL washer & dryer never had a service call. Like they say they don't build them like they used to. SAVE yourself money & NEVER BUY FISHER PAYKEL

I have the same F and P washer and dryer. The washer once had a clogged diverter valve that I was able to clean out (thank God!) but the dryer had a few problems. The main drum bearing on the right (while looking at the machine) fails on early machines. The retro-fit is relatively easy to DIY. Next, the tensioner wheels bearings got really squeaky. I was able to go to the local hardware store and get some bronze bushings that were a tenth of a millimeter bigger. That fix lasted a year or so. The burner wouldn't light so I had to get a new igniter. Then the tensioner wheel bearings failed horribly. The actual aluminum wheel was all worn out to about 3-16 times the normal size. That was a call to F and P's parts center in LACA. I to the parts and a new belt and all is well. Most of the stuff that fails is pretty easy to just roll up your sleeves and DIY it. That said, I akin the F and P stuff to a Volkswagen: It sucks when it fails and it's a pain in the *** to fix, but when it's working as it should, there's nothing like it!!

Peace out.

DH

I'm having the same problems with the Fisher & Paykel Smartload washer and dryer. The washer leaks and also the dryer is making an unbearable noise which can be heard throughout the entire house.

I'm very dissatisfied. I will never buy this brand again.

Guest

I bought a Fisher-Paykel Aquasmart washer from Loeb's 5 years ago for $899. They also sold me 4 year Extended protection plan for $99.97.

Loeb's was pushing this model very hard! The display panel on it went blank. Seems that they have a five year lifetime programmed in F-P codes.

It turns out that the original display unit is obsolete!!

It is really amazing that a LCD Display became obsolete so fast! The only option now is to replace machine control also. The two parts cost more than $450 at SEARS.

Labor may be another $100, for a total of $550.

This is plain ripoff. Anyone else having similar built-in obseleince problem?

Guest

5-year-old Fisher Paykel dryer circuit board pooped out 3 weeks ago. Cost a mint to replace the board and the new one is doing exactly what the old one did.

A week later, the washer quit (must be a 5 yr. timer for failur). Estimate was $375 so we bought a new and very simple Admiral (Maytag) washer for $299 at Home Depot.

No more state of the art for me !!!!!! Boy am I pissed!

Guest

My Fisher Paykel Dryer is only 2 years old. My husband and I only use it maybe once a week.

This dryer is loud and sweaking! They say it is probably the bearings that have gone out!

The service call will be around 300.00 to replace the bearings! I have never liked this dryer, do not buy this product!

Lowes store employees commision going in big wigs pockets!!!!!!!

I am a current employee of lowes. I have extensive major appliance sales experience with various companies in commission based positions as like my current position. But what I have found out recently really disturbed me and may even be illegal. Competitors like SEARS pay their associates commission no matter what the selling price is, a flat 2-3% commission. The reason for that is because the manufacturer pays that commision back to SEARS or is negotiated with SEARS at point of mass inventory purchase. Either way that incentive is paid by the manufacturer. Lowes pays their Appliance associates an hourly rate plus these vendor paid "SPIFFS" of dollar amounts, amount set by the vendor, instead of 2-3%. Would you believe that LOWES has put a restriction on discounting where we lose our commission if we sell at more than 10% off. Yet they still submit these uneligible sales to the manufacturer to get paid the "SPIFF"! Where do these spiffs go of up to $80 an Appliance. Not to the employee who spent his hard working time with a customer who was going to buy from SEARS. But even though I saved the sale for LOWES I get scammed out of my commission because I had to go below a 10% discount to price match the competitors deal. What a freakin joke. Some CEO's bonus getting paid on my hard work! "FOR LOWES EMPLOYEES" U NO HOW TO GET PAID ON DISCOUNTED APPLIANCES. ON THE SHIFT F1 SCREEN UTILIZE THE PREPACKAGE PRICE OPTION AND ENTER IN THE DISCOUNTED PRICE WITHOUT DECIMALS!!!!!ONLY WORKS ON STOCK ITEM#S

Delivery banging things up, Appliances missing, dented, scratched, I would cover for my appliance department if they needed it or they would call if swamped but I did not just pop in for a sale. Appliance sales = pain in rear!

But now it does not matter as it is a WE deal. So I guess you should get certified in cabinets so you can help too.

its a shame many of the appliance specialist do a good job i think what riles many of them up are when a kitchen design person would never help with freight but would pop up when a cust wanted to buy a washer dryer combo while you were selling a coffee maker making no spiff far too many times these guys would brag about the 500.00 they made this past week while you were at lunch or throwing freight zone managers sais you were to be called to make the sale if you were in the store i could not design a kitchen so why should they be able to sell appliances and take spiff money

yeah i'm a design specialist...nobody likes hearing that they will be maiking less money than the previous year! Lowes knows how to keep it short and sweet though don't they!!

I like how they say the vendors will lower their prices, even though the vendors have no clue what is happening!!! lies!!

The management at my store was very sarcastic and making fun of the fact that our pay was cut, but now that they realize that "they" will be the ones filling in and training all the new people when all the specialists quit they have changed their tune, its really kinda funny, they have begun to treat us with some respect, to late though, Im outa here along with many others.

I use to hate the words "just looking". Now I keep my fingers crossed that that's what I hear.

I use to have to overcome just looking. Well let me help you look. What we looking for. Now I just say OK ill be around if you need anything and I gets lost.

My job is kinda easy now. Haha screw Lowes!

What happened with prices going down? I saw prices go up $200-$500 on fridges.

I also was told that Lowe's is still collecting spiffs from vendors. I don't trust them, next SSEI will become a market thing. Good luck. All store managers got a Ipad, just wasting more money.

We all are being replaced by technology. Lowe's bought AGT stores to help them online business, have you looked at the prices? They said the wanted to be number 1 in appliances, and the cannot stop Sears. Sears advertises like a real appliance store.

Local customers don't even get ads. Lowe's has such bad commericals that you have to wonder what they are trying to sell. Cut the pay of your top performers, and expect them to sell the same, it won't happen. When the vendors see the numbers drop, they will step in.

They might just raise the cost of appliances for Lowe's. Memorial, fourth of July and Black Friday who cares.

I won't be working those days, and if I have to, I won't put my neck on the line because we don't have product. Good luck Lowe's, it is going to be a rough year!!

How about my 11 years, did not look at any other opportunity, because I was too busy thinking of keeping my cabinet/appliances sale up 24/7. Got very little raise, I am very upset at myself for trusting lowes, till few days ago, I felt like I was working for great company, I should applied applied for positions, I could have been store manager or district manager by now,oh, I forgot' I was too busy taking care of customers.

Lowe's Extended Service Warranty

I purchased a Troy Built snowblower in December 09 with the 3 year service plan for $99. It states on the brochure that I was given with my receipt, that if service is need "an in-home service appointment" can be scheduled. Ha! When I called the number on the brochure I was told my $599.00 snowblower was not covered. It only covers items over $899.00. Plus, pick and delivery of the snowblower to a repair shop is not covered. I live in Aurora, IL and they wanted me to haul this enormous snowblower to Westmont, IL. BTW - the location is Lowe's in Oswego, IL. I hope they are satisfied with the $700 they got out of me because I will never, ever buy so much as a nail at Lowe's again. I'm also telling all my friends, family and neighbors to never shop at Lowe's.

Joke's on you. "3-yr service plan" is year THREE only.

The mfr warranty is TWO years. If your snowblower is still within the first two years, bring it to the closest authorized Troy Bilt service center. You were had.

"Satisfied Lowes Shopper" sounds like the plan administrator. Your coverage in year three is exactly same as mfr.

It clearly states in the extended warranty brochure that in-home service is only available for products over $899. Lowe's still covers your purchase, but you will have to bring the snowblower into the store to get it repaired.

One hundred percent of the parts and labor will be covered. The reason the warranties at Lowe's are relatively inexpensive is because we don't offer in-home service on all products. If you were able to haul the snowblower home, you should be able to haul it back for repairs.

If you had not purchased a warranty, the price to get the snowblower fixed would have been outrageous. I would count your blessings.
