5/25/19 Went to store in Lumberton NJ at7:00am to purchase a new 46" riding lawn mower .Waited in department for assistance ,passing employee asked if I needed assistance and I replied was looking to purchase a riding mower ,employee told me to go to any register and they will ring it up and the department employee will come out with key to unlock mower as they are outside in front of store .After going to the 1 and only register open and waiting on line for 25 minuets the cashier told me she was unable to locate the SKU # for that item and I will need to go to the department to have the employee check and get the proper SKU #.I went back to the department and waited 25 additional minuets for employee to assist me, We finally figured out the proper SKU # and was able to go back on line and pay for this tractor was again 20 min . Now I had to wait for a manager to come out with a key for the locks that connect all the tractors ,in the mean time the department went to get the owners manual and the keys for the tractor . I took the key and checked to be assured the key fit and worked ,the tractor did not engage and the employee told me that was due to no gas in the tractor . I advised the employ I am 55 years old and have worked on Lawn equipment and it was not due no fuel in the tractor. I asked him for the manager and upon the manager returned he told her I did not know my *** from *** in the ground the tractor is fine ,I explained to the manager the battery is dead .The employee reiterated that I was wrong and she should just give me my money back and get rid of me …. so I said fine give me my money back and I will leave ,manager was rude and taking employee side and had no regard to making this right .

Rude checkout person | Lowes review from Prescott, Arizona

Today 5-25-2019 I made a purchase at the Twin Falls Idaho Lowes store. Among my purchases were 5 garden plants that were marked down to a dollar. I pointed it out at the register but the checker told me "don't worry about it I have it taken care of." My total reflected the original price. When I ask about it she told me I was wrong until I showed her the mark down sticker. She then became very rude . She corrected the total, threw my change down on the counter with no thank you and proceeded with the next customer.This is not the first time this person, named Merideth, has been rude to me. I usually avoid her checkstand but the others had long lines. Next time I will wait in line before dealing with her. A person like her should not work with the public.

Fence is falling apart | Lowes review from Long Branch, New Jersey

We had a dog eared stick built fence installed in December 2018. Since then one whole section fell apart. They came and fixed that section. As of May 2019 I see more pieces coming off the post. We paid a lot of money for a fence that is falling apart. We will never deal with Lowes located in Brick, New Jersey again.

Terrible | Lowes review

Door lock never worked. Never would lock. Worse storm door ever and will never use Lowe’s again. They give you the run around until the warranty has run out. Very frustrated. Lowe’s Powell TN.

Did you ever think of contacting the manufacturer of the lock? Most name brand lock manufacturers have great service departments to solve your warranty problems with needing to get the store involved.

Lowes Storm Door Installation

Lack of common sense and customer service | Lowes review from Rocky Mount, North Carolina

I feel compelled to share a recent experience with Lowes Home Improvement in my home town which will likely be my last visit to any of their stores. We purchased a dishwasher and paid Lowes to install it as well. On the scheduled day of installation no one showed up or called during the appointed time frame. I called Lowes the next day to inform them I would give the installer one more opportunity. On the next scheduled day of installation, the installer called and said he had been at Lowes for more than 30 minutes trying to pick up the dishwasher, but they could not locate it. I told him to just forget it and went to the store with my receipt to get a refund. They told me they could not refund me my money until they located the dishwasher…..do what? You’re going to hold me liable for something I never put my hands on and that you can’t find??? From that point it escalated into a more than 2 hour stand-off with me and them. I dealt with a total of 6 different employees explaining the same scenario and getting the same answer, while as many as 8 or more other employees gathered around to gawk. All this occurred at the refund counter. At one point an employee who wasn’t even involved in the situation made a statement “Someone better take this guy outside before I get fired” which I took as a verbal threat. Finally after over two hours, the manager (I assume) got involved and assured me I would get a refund by 4 pm, so I made her put it in writing and I left. I also contacted Lowes corporate office and filed a complaint which has fallen on deaf ears. I have done business with Lowes all my life, and have always had a good experience for the most part, but this incident was more than I can stomach. Lowes seems to have gone in recent years from a company with kind, knowledgeable, friendly employees to just another company with little to no customer service because they seem to think they have no competition.

I guess the key to buying appliances or any other larger amount things at stores is to use a credit card so that when these problems occur you haven't paid for them yet and can dispute the charge if need be. That particular Lowe's store seems atypical from my experience, but local management has alot to do with how employees behave.

You may or may not ever hear from corporate, as corporate really doesn't care----you are but one dissenter among the horde of customers they sell to. Luckily, there are a ton of stores selling appliances we can shop at, other than Lowe's.

SAMSUNG FlexDuo with dual door Oven. Is a piece of junk. The "Smart Divider" should allow you to operate two heat zones simultaneously cooking 2 dishes at different temps. This is bogus as there is only one temp. censor for both sections. This Censor is also defective. When set to preheat (example 375deg.) the temp. indicator beeper will go off indicating that the oven has reached its preset temp. Not so. When checked with two separate oven thermometers the oven is only 225deg and will require an additional 20 min. of preheat. The recovery time is dead slow. So just how much additional time for cooking should you allow? The control panel and censor were replaced without correcting the problem. The factory rep. stated that this defect was acceptable.

Why are you complaining about Lowes? Seems like your complaint should be on the Samsung complaint board as they manufactured the oven you don't like.

I WISH THAT THEY WOULD BRING BACK THE WASHING MACHINES AND TOILETS FROM "THE GOOD OLD DAYS". BOTH OF THEM WORKED MUCH BETTER THAN THE NEW-FANGLED C.R.A.P. THAT THEY SELL TODAY.

Not necessarily true. Seems like it wasn't uncommon to see a plunger sitting next to a toilet from the good old days.

My current toilet only uses 1.3 gal.

per flush and has never seen a plunger and uses a fraction of the water a toilet from the good old days uses. Unless you are talking about bringing back outhouses.

You seem to be rather ignorant about current washing machines. Doesn't make any difference what brand you buy, they all use a lot less water than they did in the past.

As they use less water the cycles will be longer to get the clothes clean. Maybe you should just go out and buy a washtub and a washboard next time.

UNPLEASANT EXPRIENCE | Lowes review

Bought a frigdedire fridge in 2016 and up to april 2019 I had problems with the ice maker an cooling isssues. the service company they contract came out 8 times in a matter of 4 years and never were able to solve the issue. finally they issue me a buyout and I was able to buy a new fridge. on the very last call befoe I was issued the buy out I was told that I could place the remaining months o my exended warranty onto the new fridge. When I called to do exactly that I was told that the info I was given was incorrect. im just so over this hole experience bu I thank God I have a new frigderator and kudos to the customer service reps who were very helpful at different times. jut remember if you accept the buyout it voids your protection plan no matter how many months you have left!

Your protection plan bought you a new refrigerator, sounds like you got your moneys worth. The plans that some stores sell limit their payout on repairs to what you paid for the refrigerator and you more than likely wouldn't have even reached the 8 service calls before your money ran out. Be happy that you had a plan that replaced your refrigerator.

on 5/6/2018 took off from work to buy the appliance. They said delivery date would be 5/28/2019. Then they said it would be 6/4/2019. Then they said it would be 6/10/2019. I contacted Linda in Corporate she suggested another mode. We agreed .She stated they had 21 in the warehouse and stated delivery would be around the 21st. I called cancelled my order on the first model. Larry in cabinetry refunded my original purchase through my lowes card. He then transferred me to the cashier who said your purchase had been declined because of the first purchase was still in the system and it would take 3 to 5 days to clear out. I called the lowes card center and they pretty much said "{{Redacted}} " there is nothing we can do sorry ,you will have to wait . I have been a Lowes customer for over 30 years . I have purchased 9 major appliances and this is the treatment I get. I am going to Home depot and buy a fridge. I will never purchase another thing from Lowes , service is 0, response -0,attitude constant apathy every level SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE

If you need an appliance in a timely manner NEVER purchase one that is not in stock at the store. If you order an appliance they normally arrive within a week from the manufacturer.

The problems start when the manufacturer is out of stock in their warehouse. The store won't know it till the truck from the manufacturer shows up with a packing ticket showing the appliance is backordered. All they get from the manufacturer is that it will ship on next weeks truck if it's in stock by then. It may come next week or it may take a couple of months if it's coming on a boat from Korea.

The sad fact is that the manufacturers don't support the stores with the information they need to keep the customer informed.

The store made the error in processing your refund and sale as 2 separate transactions. They should have processed the refund and the sale as one transaction to avoid the credit problem as it always takes a few days for a refund to actually post to your account.
