Lowes review: Terrible hurricane shutter installation

Installers did not check to make sure shutters closed and locked correctly. They left without explaining or showing how to close and lock them. They said the key was missing from the box. Then they said goodbye good luck! After many many phone calls to Lowe's, still no resolution. Finally installer came back but spoke no English. He called a friend who translated a and said they installed all the locks backward on purpose, and we just needed to get a screwdriver and reverse them after the city inspects. we tested the two in back and they do not meet correctly, and can't be secured. Finally figured out no key is needed. Still waiting on Lowe's to come out and fix the problem. We are two unhappy with the response so far after 4 weeks. We're are on our fourth person, and finally received an apology that seemed sincere. Thank God no hurricanes are brewing!

Terrible service. We went to buy lumber and did not know how it worked. Treated us like we were stupid! Cashier. At 7:30 am August 18,2018 was totally rude. Her name was Amy at the Battle Creek store did not want me be to watch as she rang it up,she kept giving me the evil eye!

Lowes review: Measurements say I need 216 square feet for a 12x12 room

I paid for Lowe's to have the contractor to come out and measure a bedroom for carpeting. This room is 12x12 this is including the closet. Went up to order the carpet and the contractor put the square footage at 216. When I questioned the guy he said he had no idea and that someone would have to call the contractor to find out. Does anyone know why this # is so high? I figured square footage to be no more than 178 with the 10% extra figured in. I figure they are overcharging me by 38 x 2 square feet, for both the carpet and the padding I feel like i am being ripped off. I also had to pay a $16 fee for lead testing. Is this something everyone does for installing carpet?

"Lead testing?" That's a scam. And, you are correct in your math. I hope you went elsewhere for your carpet.

LOWE'S sucks! had a deck installed in 2011. it has been falling apart ever since, split boards, separated areas on railing, spindles bent, the hanger brackets that support the deck underneath have separated near the entry door. boards not cut even. several steps had to be replaced within 2 months, but not all were replaced. cracked where they put screws,Lowe's refused to correct some issues, very bad customer service, deck was very expensive, not worth it!! I do not recommend them! i requested a supervisor to come out and re-inspect the deck problem, they refused. most of my calls were ignored by the manager.

Your problem was in having Lowe's or any big box retailer install the deck. They don't use the most competent contractors at these stores.

The other problem was in actually installing a deck----nice to look at for the first year, but then it starts falling apart and needs maintenance, etc. An all around pain in the backside.

Finally we gave up with Lowes and signed paper with just 24% refund. But it been 2 months we haven't received our check.

There is no clarity that when I am going to get or will it get reissue if lost.

The person who is working with us is neither responding to our calls or emails. We just get automated response saying will get back to you after 6 days but no clarity on what's going on.

My husband and I purchased a house last yr in 2017, we wanted to do house improvement/upgrate in the new house so we did some research in carpet purchase and narrowed down Lowes however Lowes did not meet our expectation at all, its so frustrating that its been 5 months now and the issue is not close to resolution. we bought carpet from Lowes at Raleigh store around 5 months ago , contractor came in the morning , after doing installation in the whole house at the end of the day they informed us that there are two different shades in the carpet and that some one will contact us shortly since contractor will report this issue with pictures and report. since then our struggle is still on, no one ofcourse contact us and we are at point that we are literally being pass from one team to another, from different people from store manager to CPD and now to sales installation team to get this resolve and yet there is no follow up and status of what is still same. its sad that we trust and choose Lowes for the business and paid upfront $6000 . This was absolutely not expectated from one of the reputed company although I am conceived now I should rather warn my friends, family, co-workers and neighbors not to purchase from Lowes. Lowes contractor lied to us and informed us about the two shade after the insallation. its been 7 months now and there is no satisfactory resolution to this situation.

Lowes review in Williamsville, New York: Bad attitude for a disable customer

Shopping in Williamsville for the 24 time this summer I was helped by a man that was more interested that he was done with his shift in 20 min than to help me. 3 times he mentioned that his was shift was done in 2o min. He eventually told me to put my gloves on so we would get done faster. I bought the rest of the landscaping bricks that they had left and he and another woman helped me put them in my car. They put them in with no compassion. It marked up my door,inside trunk,dashboard and the last 2 they layed on my seat. When the door closed, they both walked away rolling their eyes and didnt bother to say thank you or good by. I have spent over the course of the the summer I have spent over $5000 with mulch,bushes flowers and brick. Then i went in the store to by a gsllon of paint. Come to find out, i was told by a staff no one was on the schedule to work that department to wait on me. Really?? I will now only be a Home Depot shopper. Shame on Lowe's. Their staff definitely needs Facepalm more training and compassion.

Lowes review: Confusing delivery of new refrigerator ....

We've been waiting for 10 days for our new fridge from Lowes. Yesterday they told us delivery would be today .... in the afternoon. At 7AM I get a call from Lowes. I missed the call and called back. Spoke to a man that said they were already out for delivery. 20 minutes later I get another call and a different man says they haven't left the store yet and will call me later today. Meanwhile my wife gets a call and all the info goes haywire. We don't know whats going on ??? We don't even know if they have our new refrigerator as it had to be ordered. We sure wish we had made the purchase from another appliance dealer. In the interim we purchased a dorm fridge to get by with as we waited. Strongly suggest you pay a little more and buy local with someone that has a fridge in stock. These big box store purchases are not worth the hassle.

Lowe’s hired contractors to put a roof on. The roof company left trash in my yard. I called Lowe’s, first call after explainnng everything to customer service rep- she hung up. Call back finally three days later trash picked up but the company still left a hung piece of wood or something in my yard. The Lowe’s guy comes by in a truck sees the trash and says the company will be back to pick up the trash. One week later the trash is still left. Don’t bother with Lowe’s. They take your money but they don’t complete the job. Terrible horrible mess. It’s tiring and frustrating. Don’t trust Lowe’s to get the job done.

Dealing with the warranty company to fix my dishwasher has been so frustrating! I have been dealing with rude service people and it has been a month and my dishwasher is still not fixed! I spend a lot of money any Lowe’s but I will never shop there again because of this !

Several weeks ago I went on-line to find a shower enclosure and door for my spare bathroom. The website gave me a two week delivery time, but then went to the store as sometimes the websites are not updated. I spoke to a salesperson in plumbing who told me that the unit is sold as a 4 piece assembly, but also as individual pieces. I asked the salesperson if she could double check for me. I was told I needed to do that myself. After much discussion, she finally agreed to walk around to find them. Parts were in stock, and I placed an order and paid for all 4 pieces and a shower door. Then it all went from bad to worse. Went home and read reviews on the shower door and they were horrible, so I went to the store to cancel it and get another one. At 5:30 on a Saturday night, I was told that there were no salespeople to help me, because they all left a 5:00, and I should come back the next day! Came back the next day to cancel the shower door, and was told that I couldn’t cancel the door, until it was picked for delivery (how dumb is that). I found a shower door I liked, but the door was not in stock in the store a mile from my house, but was in stock in a store 35 miles away. AND, they don’t do store to store transfers. So I could either, order the door online and hope that they would pull the door before someone else ordered it (they only showed 2 in stock) or drive 35 miles to the store and then pay an $85 or more delivery charge. My solution , which is what I should have done in the first place, was go across the street and order a beautiful door from Home Depot. Customer service could not have been better. I carried the small pieces home, and made arrangements for the door to be picked. When my contractor went to Home Depot to pick up the door a week later, it was right up front waiting for him. A sales associate helped carry it to the van. Total time approximately 10-15 minutes. He then went to Lowes, and waited over an hour for someone to actually find the four pieces, then find someone to pull them from the back of the store and carry them to the van. Halfway through the install, he discovered that they gave him the wrong side panels. So back to Lowes, carrying the wrong panels, getting a refund from rude, non-caring, customer service personal, finding a sales associate to find the right pieces, and paying for the correct parts to yet another rude, and uncaring cashier. I am done with Lowes; I will never shop in the store again. I have cut up my credit card and in the future will do all my shopping at Home Depot .No wonder Lowes store is always empty. At Home Depot you are lucky to find a parking space. Regards, A new and loyal Home Depot customer
