Lowes in Milwaukie, Oregon - Disappointed

1.0
Details
Went to Lowes with a printout from their website of the bbq that I wanted to purchase. The guy in the bbq department told me to go to customer service to make the purchase. The guy there told me that he cannot do that and to go back to the bbq area. Couldn't find anyone there for over 10 minutes. Then they wanted to send me back to customer service. I was soooooo done. I guess that Lowes doesn't want to sell bbqs. BTW the guy in customer service seemed sincere that he couldn't do anything to help. The guys in bbq couldn't care less. This is ridiculous that the guys on the floor don't want to help let alone sell products that i was ready to buy

Paint counter Lowe’s employee walked away, even with me saying excuse me, pressed the button at the service desk an they came back with an attitude “ individual was just standing at the other end of the isle away from the paint counter”. Finish shopping went to check out an register operator double charged I asked to have it removed again attitude an as I watched put it back on this went on three times I had to ask for the extra charge to be removed, continued comments an attitude again, I just stood in shock.

Were you double charged for the paint or did you see a second line added for recycling? In my state there is a state mandated recycling charge added to every paint purchase that has to show up as a separate line on the receipt. It isn't something you can refuse or they can remove.

@Anonymous

No actual double charge for items being bought other than the paint. It was clearly seen due to cost of item a double charge.

I have continued to utilize this same establishment an if certain individuals are working will use other avenues.

I have watched them repeatedly give bad advice, wrong information an poor service. Being the major and only type of store in general area there is little other options.

Lowes - Worst shed installation experience EVER!
We bought a $2,500 + shed from Lowes and had them deliver and install. 1st, i understand there is a LONG wait for installation due to its summer, so popular time to get one. But we had to wait about 6 weeks to have it installed. Then a contractor hired from Lowes to install. He put it up wayyy too high, it was not really leveled that well, and there are SOOO many gaps and places that the wood isn't even nailed to the rest of the floor/sides/roof. We will NEVER buy a shed from Lowes again!! Way too overpriced for the cheap materials used and terrible installation!

Sheds aren't made to be completely weather proof. If you want that then you can grab some spray foam and seal up the cracks yourself.

Lowes - Lie after lies

I wrote an review two days ago about Lowe’s delaying our floor installation from 2 weeks to one month, and they were supposed to come yesterday 7/27, and I thought our nightmare would be over. Guess what? They didn’t show up and told us their truck broken down (but Lowe’s installation office told us they were overbooked, so go figure!) They promised us that they would come and install today. We’ve been calling all day today but phone never get answered. I don’t know how Lowe’s feels about their customers. We have handyman in our house, so I would definitely not use Lowe’s in the future.

Lowes in Forest City, North Carolina - Carpet installation nightmare

I bought carpet for one bedroom because they said free delivery, installation and removal. I explained that I would be renting out the place next month and must have the carpet installed three weeks after I paid for it. No problem I was told. The carpet arrived at Lowes within 5 days. Service Pro, their sub didn’t have time to measure the room for a month. I talked the guy into an appointment 2 weeks after the carpet arrived. Both Lowes and the measuring guy said the installers would come within 72 hours. HA! Never called, never showed. BTW, I agree with the bate and switch review because the installer ( free) told me I need 28 linear feet of 12’ padding to cover my 12x 16 floor. I called Lowes and Service Pro 3 times a day- then started showing up at Lowes customer service every day this week. Promises promises. Lowes has an incompitant and devious sub contractor and zero control despite “ urgent requests and expedited order. I leave my summer cabin tomorrow never having been contacted by the installer despite numerous promises by all levels of Lowes Forest City staff. The rental starts in ine week. We have no local family to oversee the workers. So am I supposed to fly back to get my free installation?

Contact Lowe's installation management team (could be in the store or in a call center), explain the situation, and let them know the details of your situation and let them know that you have no other option than to hire your own subcontractor to be there for the install and to act on your behalf. Tell them that you understand that this is an installer created issue and that you expect to be reimbursed for the additional expense and ask that they charge the installer to cover the reimbursement.

If you don't get the answer you want from the first person, ask to speak to their manager.

You could also dangle this in front of the installer (the threat of losing money is a good way to move yourself to the front of their line)... It may get it installed before you leave...

Installers made up for the horrible Experience at lowes

Nothing but delays and run around from Lowe's with a 10,000 full house carpet purchase. Complete disappointment until installation day. The 2 installers were beyond deligent in their work ethic. Came at 9am and 12 hours later finished the 2500 Sq ft house in one day meticulously. Went above and beyond!!

Lowes in Lake Charles, Louisiana - Terrible experience that is still on going

2.4
Details
I got Lowe’s to give me a roof estimate. Estimate was done quickly and materials ordered then delivered. Shingles have been sitting in my front yard for over 2 Months. I get scheduled over and over but no one shows up. I was rescheduled one week 6 times. Job still not done. I called 2 different numbers today and no one called me back like they said. I guess I have to cancel since I am being billed and no work has been done. I do not know how to solve this problem. I have other work to do for other projects and I have scheduled other companies. I would like someone to contact Lowe’s roofers and see what the problem I need help or cancel my account and pick up the shingles in my yard

Lowes - Forever delay in floor installation at Starkville MS

We are planing to put new tiles in our kitchen. When we selected tiles in store on June 17th, we were told it would take about 2 days to get our measurements, 2 days to get price and about 5 days to get installed. We got the price back from Lowe’s and purchased the tiles on June 28th which is OK. But after that, they keep delaying the installation when we called several times to check with them. They said the summer is busy time and they set up the installation time on July 27 which a month after we made the purchase! The problem is we had tenants moving into the house on July 21st. If it is a busy time and we need to wait this long, why we were not told in the first place so that we have back up plans. This is a horrible experience and we will avoid Lowe’s in any way we can in the future.

Lowes - Nightmare of a simple fence project in Chesapeake

1.3
Details
Our fence was supposed to be a “simple, one day project” in the offseason. We were expecting family with large dogs for an extended visit and wanted to finish our fence straight across the side yards of our small property- allowing the 2 big dogs to roam in the backyard. We experienced issues with Lowes and their subcontractor EVERY step of the way! Our project turned into a 6-month ordeal. Because they demand full payment up front, we felt stuck, thinking surely, we are past the worst... starting fresh with someone else and/or trying to get our money back would have to be worse, right? We used to trust LOWES and their products, but no longer even shop there. The system is so flawed—the LOWES coordinator is not local and is not familiar with product or installation. It usually took weeks for her to get back to us with any issue—meaning long delays. Though the subcontractor is local, they do not take any responsibility for the materials or ensuring proper delivery of supplies. They show up on installation day and cancel if anything is not there. (They refused to come and check in advance of install day). You are then at the whim of their packed schedule as to when they will return. Our “one day project” turned into a 6-month nightmarish process, and we are still waiting for the final follow-up from LOWES—now over a month after the completion. Still waiting for a call from the coordinator... Here’s just a few highlights of the problems we experienced: The subcontractor (FYI LOWES salesman stated they were good since they’d worked with them for 14 years…) cut our cable, phone and internet lines off at the house in preping for the fence. This meant we were without service for several weeks. Of course, we as the homeowners had to schedule and coordinate all of it. That wasn't the end of installation problems! On another visit, the water line was cut while digging a post hole, and we were without water until a plumber could come rectify the problem. The fence is now in, but obviously, we wouldn’t recommend the subcontractor: MId-Atlantic Millwork. In talking with the workers, for one it was his FIRST day, another had been working for the company a week... It wasn't just installation issues...the coordinating of materials by LOWES was also horrible. Part of our initial order was delivered to the wrong address. I even called while the delivery truck was in our driveway to alert there were missing parts… but LOWES assured me the computer said everything was okay. The contractor arrived two days later, and couldn’t work with only half the materials…Opps. The next time the contractor arrived it was discovered the wrong “posts” were ordered, multiple phone calls, delays for new parts and waiting for the contractor's schedule to be open... Next time the contractor arrived, it was determined the wrong “slats” were ordered, so no fence; more calls, long wait for contractor’s schedule… The final straw, 4 orders later... the slats and posts were fine, but not enough—we were short one section! The subcontractor “jimmied” the final section with the original "wrong" parts so the fence would be whole and withstand wind, etc. but it was nearly two months before they came back out to finish the section properly. As mentioned, the contractor felt no obligation to check out the parts in advance, as for the local Lowes manager, he said they were unable to check out materials delivered to a home...something about local store employees only employed to work inside the local store... LOWES coordination to pick up the wrong materials was a joke. When the truck did arrive to pick up the materials the driver told us, “Oh, there’s no pallet, so I can’t pick up. YOU need to call the office to have them send out someone to package it up properly… when that’s done, call them again to have a truck come back.” Since fence parts were sitting in our driveway throughout this long process, we actually got a letter from our HOA threatening to fine us… Oh, our original desire for the fence… the dogs... had come and gone by the time it was completed… We contrast our LOWES experience with that of working with a local company (American General Contractors) to have two stone patios put in. AGC coordinated the materials and delivery-adjusting material quantities seamlessly as needed, their work was professional and beautiful, completed ON TIME as promised- start to finish in less than a week! We couldn’t be happier with the outcome… and they ensured we were satisfied BEFORE taking the final payment. We were so sorry they didn’t do fences! LOWES has been nothing but frustration and problems, and everyone putting the blame on someone else. Since LOWES requires funds in full before starting, we are not getting return calls on our request for compensation/discount for the laundry list of problems we encountered. After all we endured, it doesn't seem that paying in full is appropriate.
