The Lowe's guarantee, which covers local competitors and their websites, comes with an extra 10 percent off if you find a lower price somewhere else. The home improvement retailer automatically gives online shoppers the lower of the Lowes.com and Lowe's in-store prices with store pickup or local delivery. Lowe's gives customers a full 30 days after purchase to find a lower price and claim a refund for the difference.

I was just told by a costumer service that online prices would only be matched and you would would not get the 10 percent . your online add says otherwise. Be a long time lowes costumer I am very unsatisfied with the conflicting explanations. Does any one know what your policy is.

Product or Service Mentioned: Lowes Delivery Service.

Reason of review: noones knows what the policy is and I did not recieve the price match plus the 10 percent discount because of it..

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Firstly I'm sorry that this situation even came into being.

TO BE CLEAR

As a company Lowe's is allowed to price match competitors on like items, that in it's self is the back handed loop hole

It is actually extremely hard to find the same product and different retailers. Please don't be fooled they do this on purpose, a very good example is Larson Storm Doors...

They are carried in every major retailer. The only difference is the same door can be called 3 different things. Thus making it impossible to accurately gauge if the product is similar. Believe it or not, it is not the stores who do this, it is the manufacturer , they have determined the likelihood of selling a particular product is much higher if "Lowe's", "H.D.", or "Menard's" are the only company to sell the item.

But never the less, Lowe's employees are aware of this loop hole and are taught to try and not give away free money when we don't have to.

What its really falls on is the amount of customer eduction. So you can turn around and walk right in and demand your 10%, now you probably will not be greeted with the best customer service because of this, but at the end of the day its all about the bottom line...

For you and for Lowe's. Please never forget Lowe's is a business first and foremost.
