Lowes review in Crestview, Florida: Go somewhere else for carpeting.

Carpet was $6.91 a sq ft. I expected some waste but when I had several throw rug size pieces and a 5 x 12 piece left I was shocked. That 5X12 was 60 extra sq ft at $6.91 was over $400 that I feel I was overcharged. I tried discussing it with a Lowe's representative but was just told carpet could not be returned and basically that no one was to blame - not Lowe's, not the estimator, not the installers. Sure seems like someone other than the buyer should have to cover that large of an overestimation!

What have you been told that was wrong? When you install a dishwasher it is either installed with a cord to plug it into a wall or wired directly (hardwired).

Your question to their call center is if they would hardwire the installation and they will. You neglected to ask the question of whether they would run the wire from your electrical box to the dishwasher. The website says they will connect the dishwasher to an existing power supply line which they will do, either with a plug or hardwire.

The store told you that you would need to hire an electrician to run a wire to your electrical box which is also correct. Everything you have been told by Lowes is correct, why are you complaining?

Details
Do not purchase anything that must be delivered from Lowes. The 3rd party delivery company is awful. My delivery was scheduled for one day then changed to another day. I was told item would be delivered between 12 and 4 pm. I was called around 2:30 pm and informed delivery was running late but would be delivered by 6 pm. I was told the driver had only 2 stops in front of me. At 6:15 pm I called customer service and was told the driver was a little behind still but would be at my location soon. At 8 pm I call again and was told driver was on way to my location. This is ridiculous. I've been forced to give up a beautiful day waiting for a product I spent $2300 on.

Most big box stores use a 3rd party delivery service. You are better off purchasing from a local dealer with their own trucks and drivers. Expect to pay a little more as there is a cost to having your own trucks and employees to make these deliveries.

Now you see one of the "tricks" stores play on you when you fall for buying their extended warranties. At least, it appears you were able to take advantage of it to a certain extent.

Best to save your money and not buy the extended warranties in the first place. As for Lowe's reducing the vets discount---a sign of the cost-cutting being done by any corporations.

Yet another vet complaining about a discount that doesn't exist. Take time to understand what their discount covers.

You get a discount on regular priced items. I can pretty well assure you that the price had already been discounted which means it didn't qualify for the veterans discount.

Purchased a refrigerator 9/9. Was to be delivered 10/8 They called to say it won't be delivered until the 10/18. But it might be delivered 10/17 today. We called to see what time today and they're looking for the information now and are going to call back later. Not happy with there lack of service. Never again. Wish we had a Menards in Florida.

I can guarantee you that Menards has plenty of delivery problems as well. When you order an appliance that is coming from the manufacturer delivery times can be unpredictable.

If they have it in their warehouse it will typically get to the store within a week. If not it will be backordered and the store won't know about it until the truck arrives. The manufacturers aren't much help in letting the store know when it will show up and you just have to wait until it finally arrives. Menards doesn't have their own delivery service.

They contract with independent haulers and you are at their mercy as to whether they will show up on time or not. Most will bring your appliance in on a 2 wheeler rather than carrying it in risking damage to your flooring.
