Lowes in Norcross, Georgia - Not Very Honest

On September 21, 2015, I contacted Lowe's San Bruno store in order to purchase an interior door for rental property that I own in San Mateo, California. My first call was with Lorisa who told me that she was in a meeting, but would call me back in one hour. After three hours I called her back. I provided her with specifications on the door. She was going to research the available products and call me back. Needless to say, that did not happen. I called Lorisa a total of four times that day and was finally able to arrange for an installer to go to the house and measure the door opening. Lorisa did find me a door that met my specifications and she sent me a quote via e-mail. Because she did not have the measurements she used random dimensions for the size of the door. The price of the door was to be $228.67. I was to pay $199.00 for installation and $45.00 to have the door measured. The $45.00 charge was to be credited back to me if I purchased a door from Lowe’s. William went out to measure the door on September 23rd. He told me that the measurements would be downloaded to Lowe’s that afternoon. I called Lowe’s the next day; because I have tenants living in the house who do not have a bathroom door. I was told that it took 3 days for the measurements to download (they really should look into updating their computer system). I waited until September 29th and when I did not hear from Lowe’s I called them. At this point Lowe’s had not made a single call too me, all calls originated with me. Ruben confirmed that Lowe’s had received the measurements from William. Ruben was going to put together a contract and send it to me by e-mail. After at least six alleged attempts, I finally received the contract at 5:00 p.m. on September 30th. The contract reflected a material price that was 30% higher than the price I was given and reflected a labor cost that was 57% higher than what I was told. I called Lowe’s and spoke to a male who identified himself as the manager of the mill works department. I told him that I wanted an explanation for the substantial increase in the price of the door and installation. He explained that the actual door was 80 inches tall and that this was not a standard dimension. I told him that I would be checking this with the manufacturer, at which point he hung up on me. I called the store back and asked to speak to the manager. It turns out that the male who identified himself as the manager was not really the manager. It also turns out that 80 inches is a standard height for an interior door. At this point Lowe’s has wasted over three hours of my time. It has taken over ten days to do a task that should have taken two days. It is obvious to me that their staff has been intentionally wasting my time. I’m sure that they will not find the situation as amusing when I send Lowe’s a bill for my time. Needless to say, I will be calling Home Depot the next time I need an appliance replaced.

I do not know what is going on as of late with Lowes, but in the past, I have had no problems. But lately, the smallest things turns into a disaster.

Even calling the customer service department is bad. You get a totally different answer from each person you talk to about the same problem. So today I have spent 2 hours of my time trying to get answers about a refrigerator repair, that was supposed to happen two weeks ago. (Mind you it's not even a year old) The last rude representative told me that I needed to call the manufacturer even though I paid for a 5 year warranty through Lowes.

When I explained to him that Lowes needed to honor the warranty I purchased, regardless if it was still under the manufacturers. The rep. than hung up on me. Than another 20 min to get someone to help.

But thank God for the internet and Google. I found a different number for customer service (800)-445-6937 and finally got some satisfaction.

But I really do question why a new refrigerator needs a part. Going forward, I probably will go to Home Depot for appliances and I will never buy another Frigidaire if they break in less than a year.

Lowes - Riding Mower Review from Lawrenceville, Georgia

1.0
Details
Don't buy ANY extended warranty at Lowes. I have a riding mower that I can't get repair work done for over a month. I wasn't told I'd have to wait months for repairs when I bought this warranty. Home Depot gets my business now...and I've been a loyal and exclusive Lowe's customer for more than 15 years. Customer Service? NOT HARDLY!!!

Lowes in Duluth, Georgia - Paid up front for fencing job, but looks like I just bought a headache

I hired Lowe's for a fencing job (materials + labor installation + related cleanup). I paid all the money up front more than 1 month ago. They said it will take 2 weeks for the order to come in and for the job to be finished. They also said they would have professional installers and all the right equipment. 2 weeks passed by and nothing happened. It's been 6 weeks now and they just now delivered to me part of the materials (not even all). I have been calling customer service and Lowe's installation sales again and again. No answer. I kept calling the Lowe's agent/salesman that sold me the job. No answer. Just today (more than 6 weeks after I placed the order) 2 handymen from Lowe's came by and removed 2-3 sections of my old fence. Then they looked at the rest of the work that needed to be done and said "This is not the type of work we do," "We don't know how to do this." Etc. They didn't have any equipment with them. I asked them "where is your equipment?" They said, "It's too much money," And then they just left. They left the pieces that they removed - scattered in my yard - and they left my whole backyard exposed. Now I'm thinking I'm getting swindled by Lowe's. They are not professional contractors at all. I regret not going to The Home Depot or a professional fencing company. I spent all this money just to buy a headache from Lowe's - not a professional fencing job. If I had known this is the kind of service I was paying for, I would have thought twice. Thinking maybe I need to call a law attorney now. Will definitely be spreading the word about Lowe's terrible service.

Having a very similar problem myself...worst warranty and customer service I've ever heard of. Won't shop there anymore.

Paid $3,000 for a mower and once they have your money they don't care anymore.

Shop Home Depot friends and never buy Any extended warranty especially from Lowes. They don't stand behind it...and obviously they don't care

Lowes - Manager Review from Alpharetta, Georgia

Details
Terrible experience as Lowes long time customer. I will never buy another item from them ever again. We had a repair man come out to repair our 2 1/2 yr old refrigerator 4 times. Each time we called they always was rude and never showed any empathy. I call lowes for the 5th time and they wanted to send another repair person out. If they couldn't repair it the previous 4 times what makes them think it would be fixed the 5th time ? After being spoken to rude and being on hold without anyone coming back to the phone i called back again and was transferred to executive support. After not getting anywhere with the rep. I asked to speak to his manager and he told me "no you will not talk to anyone". He continue to speak down to me. I then asked to speak to a manager and he would not consent. I called the Lowes CEO office and they transferred me to another rep. She would not help and transferred me to the rude rep again after i said i would not work with him but was willing to work with anyone else. Lowes took my money for the protection plan but will not assist me in getting my refrigerator replace. They sold me a lemon and don't care. How many repair visits do it take to understand that it is bad. If this is their excellent customer service what would be worst.

Lowes Manager

Management at the Lowes in Pooler

There is a store Manager and four Assistants. Only two Assistants are excellent, the rest are horrible. They preach constantly about engaging the customers. Only two of the four assistants engage. Not even the Store Manager greets. They constantly hire seasonal employees and curtail their employment after 90 days. The turn over rate is huge. The store Manager prides himself with his unethical actions. such a shame because Lowe's is an excellent company with poor Management. Trials and tribulations, constant drama on the front-end. No one addresses the actual issues. People design unique excuses for calling out or not reporting to work. Morale is low in this store. When entering this store the tension feeling is high. The store does not seem inviting.

I'm not sure how yiu can say 'Lowe's is an excellent company but they have poor management." What exactly makes them an excellent company then? Their workers only reflect the lousy management's attitudes and lack of drive.

Computers don't run a corporation. The buildings don't make an excellent corporation. The products they sell don't make an excellent corporation. Is it the "concept" that you think is excellent?

Lowe's is a wretched corporation where customer satisfaction is non existent. I'm surprised their doors are still open.

Wrong company. A bank owns and operates the card, not Lowes. You were made aware of this when you signed up for the card, but like all consumers you only hear what you want to hear.

Why are you complaining about Lowes. Lowes does not own your credit account.

You have an account with a credit company that issues a card with Lowes name on it. You should be complaining about them, not Lowes.
