Lowes - DO NOT USE LOWE"S FOR RENOVATION PROJECTS IN HONOLULU, EVER!!!

1.0
Details
LOWES on YELP IF YOU’RE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING LOWE’S FOR A RENOVATION PROJECT IN HONOLULU, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST! In the many renovation projects I've been involved with over the years or even discussing them, never have I encountered such levels of incompetence, indifference and outright neglect bordering on dishonesty and dangerous practices, be it NEC code violations, not obtaining permits, or hiring the most incompetent and unskilled (cheap) workers (and I suspect unlicensed) to do the work. As an example, and there are many, after only three weeks, the entire new flooring had to be removed and reinstalled due to buckling as the contractor, contrary to his contractual obligations, and despite his constant lies, never leveled the floors or installed it as per the manufacturer's specs. Electrical work included many NEC code violations, such as not using correct wiring where required, or leaving potentially live wires uncapped and dangling under kitchen cabinets, thus placing the homeowner at risk he was residing on site! Painting was done DURING demolition, and thus dust was painted onto all surfaces; they thought this was OK. Kitchen cabinets were damaged during renovations and installed incorrectly, as was furniture left uncovered rubin pairing (they actually removed the covers the homeowner put on furniture). Moreover, Lowe’s ordered and installed the wrong kitchen cabinets, admitted to this in emails (on record) and yet refused to remedy their error. Ceiling pot lights were haphazardly installed and misaligned despite markings for location; new drywall was badly installed (one corner had to be redone 3 times), and new drywall was repeatedly damaged by electricians; trim was often cut short, wrongly mitered, and caulking was a mess that spilled onto new flooring and left to dry. The list of issues is very long! But no matter the complaint, Lowe's management ALWAYS insisted their trades are expert and competent, even when clear proof to the contrary was literally staring at them during the rare visits by managers. Underpinned by incompetent floor staff in the design center who set up false hopes and lied about their role in the project, the managerial team at Lowe's in Honolulu, be it Will Finster or Nick Kendall (since gone I believe), couldn't give a damn about you or your project, and even less so once they have your money -- which they required up front (Illegal?). AS the clients best friend and who was involved in the project, I feel compelled to share this experience as I have never encountered a less professional group that so willingly displayed the poorest communication skills, all wrapped up in a deep indifference to their customer, and elders man who put his faith Lowe's. Lowe's will promise you the moon, talk a lot about how customer satisfaction is primary, but merely deliver an ulcer and a big mess. Nearly a year later, rather than remedy the situation, Lowe’s simply walked away from the the unfinished project and their contractual obligations knowing full well that litigation would cost the client more than the project's value. Hence, the project remains unfinished, and funds have not been refunded; rather, Lowe's walked away, stating that an insurance adjuster would contact the client, which he did only once initially (must work for Lowe’s). And since, no one has contacted the client despite his repeated efforts to speak to someone. UNBELIEVABLE!! The client is at a stand still, and at 78, has little energy to deal with this incredibly stressful mess brought to him by Lowe's. Stay away from them! I would rate them less than zero if it was possible! DO NOT USE LOWE"S FOR RENOVATION PROJECTS IN HONOLULU, EVER!!!

Called several times. Always get back to operator. Will not purchase again with this type of service. Trans 88646181 07-02-18 need cancel pickup and get $60 credit. Finally, Jerry from Waikele got my call and called the Iwilei store to process the cancellation of the 3 recycled items and process the credit. How Waikele got my call I do not understand but I appreciate the time Jerry spent in helping me. If it were not for her, I would report your store to the Better Business Bureau and the State. Let's see if the credit is processed. I hope I do not have to go further re your horrific service. Doris Otake

Lowes in Honolulu, Hawaii - Delivery Service Unacceptable

3.9
Details
We currently have a project under rehab. We ordered materials needed ahead of time to be delivered to job site. Original day of delivery was 1/24. Around 2pm, I called the store and ask about our delivery time just to find out It wasn’t on schedule to be delivered and claimed the soonest they can deliver was Friday, 1/26. Friday came, they only delivered half of our materials (wasn’t told about it). Saturday, 1/27 we went to customer service and ask them what happened to other half of our order. we were told the delivery coordinator was gone for the day and given advice call instead. Monday, 1/29, today I called them, delivery date wasn’t set yet and the soonest they can deliver now is Thursday. 1 week delay on our project in which we have to pay Hard money loan for $126 a day.

Lowes in Honolulu, Hawaii - Poor service wrog item deliverd cost me 720 extra dollars to take more time off

Details
First no call the day before I called at 730 am on 1/25 2016 spoke to Lowes operator said that they called and my # was disconnected which was not true I was calling on the supposed disconnected # He forwarded me to delivery who said that the driver that was supposed to deliver my stove was out sick and wanted to reschedule me for another day I informed him that that was not an option I needed the stove delivered today he told me that it would be delivered the afternoon.. The truck arrives and has a washer that was not supposed to be delivered until the following week. because it was not supposed to be in stock until then. at this point I called the delivery mgr who said my stove was scheduled rescheduled for the next day. I said no I need it today she said that's the best she could do because the delivery employees were already working to many hours today. at this point I called to speak to store manager who apologized and checked the delivery order and said he was not sure how they screwed it up and probably could not do anything today but would try. Now I have to take a second day off work at $45.00 per hour = $720.00 which is pretty close to the cost of the stove. I have never had such poor service from any company and I am going to make sure my 300 employees become aware of the shabby treatment and will ask them to boycott any Lowes purchases for the company and if they can their personal purchases too!

second delivery date 0n 1/25/2016 for delivery at about 8am on 1/26/2016

I was told by delivery manager and confirmed by store manager that the truck would leave at 730 am and I was to be first delivery which should be about 8 am

at 830 on 1/26 i called to confirm that i was on the list and was told by the person that answered for delivery that they would not know until 930 because the paperwork for that days deliveries was not yet received.

The stove finaly arrived at 10am

again they do not have a clue of what they are promising or tell you whatever to get you off their back at the time you call

worst service ever.

Lowes in Honolulu, Hawaii - Lowe's lost my sink !!

In January 2014 I ordered a kitchen sink with faucet, soap dispenser and grid. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks (as I'm in Hawaii) After 4 weeks I was called that my sink came in. My contractor went to Lowe's and picked up 1 large box (thought everything was inside) Only the faucet, soap dispenser and grid were in the box Then I was told the second box with sink was shipped on different cargo, but would arrive "any day" ... After on week I was told would arrive that week ... waited another week, then I was told the sink was lost !!?? You have to know this was not to replace a sink, but it was in a new construction and I was already moved in. My kitchen could not be finished as they needed the under-mount sink to install the granite. Meaning living in a house two weeks without kitchen. Finally I gave up on Lowe's, ordered the same sink online for half the price and it arrived on my doorstep 3 days later !! Even the worst experience with Lowe's is trying to get in by phone: at least 5 times you're transferred, then the person you need is OR on his day off, OR out for lunch, OR helping other customers, OR left for the day ... A Nightmare ! After all this aggravation and wasting my time, the least they could do is give me a kind of compensation ... NO Never, Never buy or order something at Lowe's.

Lowes in Honolulu, Hawaii - Still waiting for my delievry

I am expecting delivery of material (Trex) for my decking. I called yesterday to find out when I could expect delivery. They said someone will call last night. No one did. So, I called again and they said someone will call this morning. No one did, so I called again and was routed to the manager (male) who apologized and said someone should have called. It is now 11:00 a.m. and no one has called and I am still waiting for a phone call confirming a time or the delivery. So, essentially my life today has been put on hold by Lowes I recommend they do this to every member of their Chairman of the Board and all members of their board. My name is Dr Danelo Canete and I am the former CEO of Hawaii Medical Center with 1500 employees. This group cannot survive in my world.

Sorry to hear that. I guess you'll have to change your suppliers.

Lowes in Honolulu, Hawaii - Not enough cashiers /no cooperations

As customers we hate seeing employees who don't wanna helpPlease post this in Lowes Waikele

Lowes has poor customer service.

After calling and getting no answer I went to the store and waited 30 minutes to be told the product was in but still has not been unloaded. Asked for credit application and was only approve for 500.00. Took 20 minutes on the phone just to get the application done and I have excellent credit. Went to Home Depot they had the product gave me a credit limit of 2500.00 and I only had to show my id and punch in my SS number into the key pad..no forms no calls...no wait time...and I had 4 asking if they could help me instead of me waiting for one person to help 4 of us. Just saying HD has got my money from now on !!

Hey. Let me guess.

You are the Electrical Pro the works in the electrical department of a Lowes store(if not, then sorry). Your comments and the little bit of info that you throw around in your statements(all of them) suggest that. Maybe the person on this review does not quite understand credit procedures. The financial institutions for all retail stores in the world have the right to give limits for what ever reasont based on consumers credit history, income, and how much credit they are already paying on.

The retail stores have no business or rights in determining the total of a persons credit limit. The providers are seperate institutions and are used by stores because a store is not a bank. More established and honest places may only give a small limit in protection to the customer.

The credit guidelines have changed tremendously in this country with our new President. "Electrical Pro", find out what institution your establishment goes through(no matter who you may work for)and find out a little more about their credit provider.

I really do not see the poor customer service on this one. Our system is a little slow, I'll admit that. But as per the product still being unloaded...well, have you ever unloaded a 53 foot trailer full of product ?
