We purchased a Fridge from Lowe’s and were told delivery would be about 7 - 10 days. Out of the blue we got a call on a weeknight after 9pm that our Fridge was going to be delivered the next morning. Since we were not going to be home we called the store to reschedule....

Fyi, employees are not allowed to give specific times for delivery. Judging by the times they called you, it was not the delivery manager making the calls.

In which case, it was an employee that was given a list and told to call each person on it (been there myself). This person had no idea what was going on. There is however, no excuse for what happened after that. If they didn't have it, you shouldn't have been on the list to call.

As a side note, it is policy for someone to be there at the house to accept delivery. Doesn't matter who that person is.

Lowes - Delivery Service Review from Plainfield, Illinois

3.0
Details
I purchased a refrigerator (to be referred to as "item" here-forth) from the Bolingbrook store in IL and have encountered so many issues that I am surprised Lowes is still in business! The following are all of the problems I had to endure: 1. I purchased the item on Aug 1st and was told by the sales person that it would be delivered within 7-10 days and I didn't have it in my possession until this morning, Aug 17th, 17 days later. 2. I had been very specific, since I was told by Lowes that my item would be delivered on Aug 16th (day prior to actual delivery), that I would not be available on the morning of the 16th but rather in the evening and they stated that they would communicate that to the delivery company. Despite that fact, the delivery company attempted to deliver in the morning. I had to call Steve the store manager multiple times to sort this out on the 16th however he was unable to persuade the delivery company to deliver on the promised date. I was however, credited $50 and promised the first delivery the next day (Aug 17th) for the inconvenience, which I do appreciate. 3. The following day the item arrived first thing in the morning as promised and the delivery guys were very polite. However once they left I had noticed that one of the fridge doors were installed in a manner where one of the doors was taller than the other. I called the Lowes Store once again and spoke to a store manager, Samanthia, to see if she could have somebody come take a look at fixing the doors. When I asked for the GM's number she told me that I should wait until she tries to solve the issue before escalating, which I was naive enough to accept. I should have known better. Well the manager never called me back and now I found out that the ice maker was leaking. So I called the next day, Aug 18th, and got a hold of another store manager named John. It was very apparent that none of the managers talk to each other, keep logs of daily store event, or do any type of shift hand off. John had to call me back so he can figure out what was going on, since he was so confused and uninformed. He finally called me back and stated that he would have a brand new fridge delivered the next day and take another $50 off. At this point, I had to take Monday off and now I'd have to take Wednesday off and spending all this time off was costing me a lot of money. I was furious at this point and told John that he would have to do better. So he finally agreed to credit another $198 (odd number) and I agreed. At the end of the day l, they are fixing the issue but this is definitely the worst service I have ever received! I have purchased refrigerators before and it was not anywhere near as difficult as my experience with Lowes. I wasted my work Paid Time Off and hours of my life on the phone between Lowes and XPO delivery; hours I can't get back and shouldn't have spent. On top of that I even contacted Corporate and they never bother to contact me back regarding this.... John, the last manager, is the only on who did his job and he's the assistant manager on top of that...this probably means that he should be promoted and replace one of the other managers that attempted to assist me. I am military veteran of eight faithful years of service to my country and do not appreciate being treated this way.

Well, I had the same problem with a product that I bought online, it looks like Lowes don't have reliable suppliers, therefore ther are as bad as the suppliers...never had one single good experience at Lowes, normally employees at the store are rude, so I don't go anymore, tried to buy online and almost over a month they keep coming with excuses about shipping problems,,,but they were promptly on charging me at the same day I bought...lets see how long it will take now to get my refund...

I HATE LOWES...LESSON LEARNED!!

We bought a washer and dryer on Black Friday weekend, and were scheduled for delivery in two weeks. We tore apart our laundry closet in preparation.

On our delivery day I called to confirm the delivery time because we had not received a call. They said too many were sold and they are having trouble getting the washer, but it would arrive before Christmas. Then we were rescheduled for delivery on January 10th. Today we called to make sure the delivery would really happen.

Now they say the washer won't arrive until February...hopefully. What? They still can't tell us when we'll get the washer and dryer, even though we have had to make payments on items we don't even have. I understand how this happened, but the customer service has been lacking here.

No excuse for them not letting us know the deliveries had been cancelled. If no washer by February we will be cancelling the purchase.

I believe that hviang some type of multicultural education is a must for everyone, no matter what professional field you are in. I think that everyone encounters someone from a different culture frequently throughout their lives whether it is on the phone, in passing on the street, during class, at a restaurant, etc.

If we are provided with some multicultural education, then we can be more tolerable and learn to appreciate other cultures. There are several benefits to knowing about other cultures. If we are more culturally competent, then we will be able to be more accepting of the differences between other cultures, we will be able to interact with other cultures in a more positive way and we may even learn something new that impacts our lives in different ways. Multicultural issues greatly impact our service delivery as speech language pathologist.

When helping students who are from another culture, there are several factors that need to be considered and researched. These factors include whether the errors produced are from a disorder or difference, if the tests given are standardized based on that child’s culture, making sure the tests are given in English and in their native language, and the beliefs and values that may impact how the child and family responds during assessment and treatment. These factors need to be researched ahead of time so that the speech pathologist is well prepared and does not offend their clients due to a lack of understanding of their values.

Our service delivery to those from another culture is greatly impacted by hviang a multicultural education. One does not need to know everything about every culture, but hviang a multicultural education will prepare you and lead you to take the necessary steps in order to provide the the proper services to clients from another culture.

Lowes in Des Plaines, Illinois - Lowe's Extended Service Warranty

I purchased a Troy Built snowblower in December 09 with the 3 year service plan for $99. It states on the brochure that I was given with my receipt, that if service is need "an in-home service appointment" can be scheduled. Ha! When I called the number on the brochure I was told my $599.00 snowblower was not covered. It only covers items over $899.00. Plus, pick and delivery of the snowblower to a repair shop is not covered. I live in Aurora, IL and they wanted me to haul this enormous snowblower to Westmont, IL. BTW - the location is Lowe's in Oswego, IL. I hope they are satisfied with the $700 they got out of me because I will never, ever buy so much as a nail at Lowe's again. I'm also telling all my friends, family and neighbors to never shop at Lowe's.

Joke's on you. "3-yr service plan" is year THREE only.

The mfr warranty is TWO years. If your snowblower is still within the first two years, bring it to the closest authorized Troy Bilt service center. You were had.

"Satisfied Lowes Shopper" sounds like the plan administrator. Your coverage in year three is exactly same as mfr.

It clearly states in the extended warranty brochure that in-home service is only available for products over $899. Lowe's still covers your purchase, but you will have to bring the snowblower into the store to get it repaired.

One hundred percent of the parts and labor will be covered. The reason the warranties at Lowe's are relatively inexpensive is because we don't offer in-home service on all products. If you were able to haul the snowblower home, you should be able to haul it back for repairs.

If you had not purchased a warranty, the price to get the snowblower fixed would have been outrageous. I would count your blessings.
