Lowes in District 9, Tennessee - Refused return

Lowe’s refused a fire pit that I purchased 3 years ago.it had never been opened and I had the receipt.us as consumers have to suffer the financial losses from their poor return policy.i have spent several thousand dollars with Lowe’s in the last 5 years and now they have lost my business.i also will let all my family and friends know about this bad experience with them and ask them to tell everyone that they know how poor their return policy is

It has more than likely been discontinued and replaced with a different model. Stores don't have places to restock discontinued items and if they had taken it back it would have been moved to a discounted clearance area.

Why do you expect stores to take a loss on something you have had sitting around your house for 3 years? Why did you purchase it in the first place if you didn't use it? Sell it on Craigs list for whatever you can get for it.

If there is a loss, it should be yours for not being able to make a wise purchasing decision. I wonder where you are going to shop that has a return policy that will let you return items you have had sitting around your house for 3 years...good luck with that.

You really expect a retailer to return something you bought 3 years ago? Read any return policy at any retailer in the country.

90 days is usually the max.

And yes, this is 100% legal. These retailers aren't stupid.

Lowe's didn't manufacture the product so they are not liable for it in any way. The days when locally owned retailers stood behind the products they sold are LONG gone!

Thanks to people like you trying to save a few cents by shopping at the box stores.

And now, you want them to stand behind the product THEY didn't make? Not going to happen.

Ken in Lowe’s Yakima WA, rekeying department today went above and beyond to provide assistance. We had a broken door *** requiring repair within the key locking mechanism. He indicated that he is a part-time employee and that the employee who would normally do the work was gone for the day. Ken reviewed an online instruction prior to fixing the lock. He was patient and had a good sense of humor as he disassembled and reassembled the door *** He is an example of excellence in providing customer services.

We went to wood village Lowe’s because we needed help with our screen. We were told to go to isle 47. When we went to the desk on isle 47 the worker would not get out of his chair to help. He just told us to go to isle 47. Then we went back once we could not find what we where looking for and he then still would not get out of his chair. He then called for help and we waited for over 20 minutes and nobody showed. We finally gave up. Never had seen worse customer service in my life. I think I want to take my business to Home Depot.

There may be a number of reasons he didn't get up and help you. Perhaps he had a disability that kept him from walking the aisles.

It's also possible the screen was handled by a different department and he paged someone from that department to help you.

Do you go into a grocery store and expect the person stocking produce to get you a steak out of the meat case? If you really want service you should shop a local hardware store like ACE rather than a big box store.

you are right that could be 100% true. He did try to call for someone to come help.

That does not excuse nobody coming to help after 20 minutes. I have worked retail and customer service my for many years and would not make a customer wait that long.

Sounds like you ordered a clearance priced saw. If they are out and not getting anymore the smart thing to do would be to accept the refund and look elsewhere for a saw.

Better yet, since you only plan on using it once, do the smart thing and rent one. It seems like you like you like to complain for the sake of complaining .

You made a big deal out of a box that was damaged in shipping before you even opened it and found the product inside was in good condition. Look for simpler solutions in life rather than complaining about everything.

I required service in the garden center. The person working in the center made eye contact with me, we were about 30 ft apart I put my hand up to let her know I needed help she looked away and continued to talk to 1 other employee and a customer. She looked back over at me I put my hand up again so she'd know I still wanted help. She looked away again and then walked over to the register. I walked over to her and she stepped back to look busy ...i told her i needed help she said she couldn't help me because she needed to stay at the register and the other Person was already busy. I was super annoyed by her avoidance and lack of ability to want to support me by calling for help. I complained to a manager and he looked like a dear caught in the headlights! Common sense and customer care needs to be a priority!
