Went to have an entry door installed, tried to charge us 345 for the door, 389 install fee, 400 from the contractor, 117 to remove storm door and put it back on, 35 measurement and 16 lead test. The install fee was more than the friggin door, the guy came did the measurements and never did lead test, and, Lowe’s System doesn’t allow refunds on that. Not to mention it was a stock door. Why is Lowe’s charging 389? On top of that they committed fraud by not returning the $16 for the lead test not being completed.

Lowes in Knoxville, Tennessee - Me Again for the 3rd Time

So this is my third complaint about Lowes. As I stated in my last couple of complaints, back in 1/16/2018 we order Siding, gutters and an exterior door. It is now 4/20/2018, 3 months and 4 days later. The siding is a mess with 4 windows screwed up, with a few other issues. Jr Diaz who is the owner of the siding company that installed this mess is finally coming out and trying to correct the issue. Although it still remains to be seen if he fixes the windows. Claims now that he will be out here Saturday 4/28/2018 and get them fixed. Now I am trying to get our exterior door installed. Door was never ordered until late Feb early march. When that finally came in and installer came out late march it didn't fit. He remeasured and left with that door telling me that he would have it re ordered. Two weeks later after not hearing from them I called Lowes. The door had not been re-ordered. I was told by Lowes that the door would be in 4/16/2018. Which it was when I called that morning. I was informed they would let the installer know and he would call me withing 24 hours if not that very day. No call. I called Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday no call. I called again. Thursday still no call. I called again. Thursday close to 5 pm I finally got a voice mail. This morning I called. I am now informed that they can not come out here until Thursday the 26th. This makes 3 months and 10 days just to get an exterior door installed. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LOWES IF YOU ARE NEEDING IT INSTALLED BY THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO TO HOME DEPOT, GRAB SOMEONE OFF THE STREETS, DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU CAN. Oh and BTW Jr Diaz, the owner of the company that installed our siding. He told us yesterday he is no longer putting siding on homes that he was going to strictly going to be doing roofing. So if you live in the knoxville TN area buyer beware Jr Diaz Roofing if he is the one that installs roofs for Lowes here. His people are not trained except on the job training. They are learning as they go and hey your roof is really not something that most of us can climb up on and check out their work.

5.6 months for two doors with Lowes. One was fuckrd up and one never showed. Got all my money back.

I purchased my roof from Lowe's on 1 of my rental homes and Jr Diaz was the contractor and him and his crew do an amazing job. That has been four years ago and just in June I purchased a roof for my house and went through Lowe's again and requested Diaz Roofing for my sub contractor and was happy they were still with Lowe's.

I have to say Lowe's has changed a few things that I was very unhappy about with, like the Central office you have to deal with that NEVER answer their phones or call you back and the delivery company they use now is AWFUL and does not come when they say but my roof looks amazing and couldn't be happier. By the end of the year I have to do another roof on one of my rentals and I definitely will have Jr and his crew do it, rather I go through Lowe's or not I will use them

You purchased your project the wrong way. The best way is to find a contractor who you can trust and let them order the products from a dealer they trust. Going to a store and letting them pick a contractor and add a markup to their labor without letting you know who will be working on your home is a big risk.

I want my windows repaired r exchanged out 4 new 1s other option on windows is $2000 cr on my bill this is price quoted by Lowes As far as our door we want a price reduction 4 waiting 3mths for door. Probably a reduction 4 the over all horrible job done

Lowes said it was my fault because the photo I provided was not proof. When we went to store with photo, no one offered to address the problem and never called to resolve the issue. We had our original shower tile man repair broken tile and presented the bill to Lowes. They refused to pay the $150. This is after 18 years of spending at least $30,000 with them. The day they broke the door, it was 18 degrees outside and they brought the glass in with frost all over it and clamped it down to the brackets. Of course the glass shattered and they did not even clean up all the glass so I worked 3 hours cleaning it better, but still my wife cut her foot a week later. Do not trust Lowes!

We just ordered a door on Monday and are waiting for the guy to come and do measurements and it been 3 day's and we have not heard anything I tried to call but, no body seems to know what's going on...How long are people suppose to wait after they pay the fee for measurement storm door instillation.

Custom interior door: Installer measured 10/2/17 Quote received 10/5/17 Ordered door 10/10/17 Complaint: Lowes called That door was in which was expected11/6/18. Installer went to pick up door and door dept told him they could NOT find it. Said it was lost! Reordered door. Said it would be in 1/2018. Lowes called it was in. When installer went to get door, it was DAMAGED! They asked to reorder a 3rd time and we said absolutely not. We went to competitor. We have told our our friends and neighbors DO NOT order anything custom from Lowes especially “custom”! I did not listen to my gut which said DO NOT order ANYTHING from Lowes again. Stupid me did it anyway! U ordered s dishwasher in 2/10/18. Received call that one was on backorder until 8/18! Picked another one and it came in damaged. The third time reordered it came in damaged again! Fourth time the appliance dept offered me an upgraded dishwasher for the horrible customer service. It did come in undamaged andcwas installer 4/4/18. The only good thing about this scenario I that we did get upgrade and the installer John Collins was awesome! Your timeline for delivering a product in a timely manner to a customer and NOT damaged is Rated a big fat ZERO! You guys need to get your act together as I’ve talked to many many people and they have had similar incidents with Lowes. There are competitors who do an incredibly better job than Lowes even though their prices might be $50 more. We are very disappointed and won’t be buying any big items there again. I think we might be safe buying paint brushes, garden hoses, etc. Things that you can look at with your own eyeballs. I have ALL the paperwork and you do too. Oh and forgot to say when we tried to get the door refunds!! The customer service desk basically rolled there eyes as they can’t be bothered with this problem and then after we waited about 10 minutes at the desk someone came and did the refund transaction so fast, without explaining that we had to go home and review that it was corrected right and ALL the paid up front (merchandise, labor, installer estimate, other accessories needed for installation was refunded. If this happened to you personally how would you feel about shopping here again.

Never buy a door/installation from Lowes. It's been a complete nightmare that I'm still dealing with 4 months later. The installers didn't come with the proper equipment but still made it "work." I am still waiting for the proper equipment to arrive/be installed. The product was purchased in Louisville, KY - specifically the Hurstbourne Lane location. I have probably called that story over a dozen times to have them come out and finished the job that I paid for - I'm not even complaining about the installation fee doubling after I signed a contract... I used Home Depot at my previous home and had a very positive experience, I am kicking myself for going to Lowes this time.

These big box stores use many outside contractors to do these things---some good, some bad. I have found it's always best to buy the, say door and then either install it myself or have a local contractor do the install if I cannot.

They don't get paid until they do the job and do it right, thus they usually do a good job for you. Relying on the transient sub contracted thru Lowe's or other can be a hit or miss situation as you found out.

I have recently purchased a home in St. Louis MO. I used Lowe's for interior doors. They hired a contractor SIMS. This contractor sent 3 people. SIMS damaged 6 out of 7 doors, damaged my door frames, put the door frames on backwards, and ruined several of my walls. They put floor borders on one of my doors and used a 2 x 4 on the other side and caulked it in. They were rude and unskilled. When complaining to Lowe's I had to physical meet with all the managers as they did not offer to come to the home until I said Regional Manager's name please. They came to the house within 24 hours of SIMS being there. They took pictures and refund the install. Another company is installing my exterior doors, I can only pray it turns out right. They refunded the install and said they would have the exterior guy to look at what he can do to fix it. In the mean time my baseboards do not any longer line up with the door molding, my walls are damaged, big gashes in the walls. The exterior guy will install the exterior but doesn't know if he can help with the interior, but he will look at it to see. In the meantime what was a nice home now looks like it has been in a construction accident. I paid a lot of money for these doors. I think the contractors they use at Lowes they do not go out and find qualified ones or ones that have an A+ rating with BBB or Mo Attorney General. They have to fix the issues. Next, I hired Lowes at the same time to install a water heater and HVAC system. The Trio Plumbing installed the water heater; sit down for this one. Will the plumber installed the water heater and did not attach the flute with screws but with TAPE. Then he crimped the gas line and used needle nose to open it back up and taped that. Used old bolts instead of new ones because the bolts were stripped and he used a compound to seal it. There was gas leaking when turned on. Will said since the HVAC people was still working he could not turn it on. When the inspectors came, there were two, they said FAILED. Contacted Trio Plumbing and the manager is rude, loud, interrupts you and when raising my voice to get over his, he says I am hanging up I don't need to take this. But never hung up continued to make excuses. We actually taped the conversation and have the consumer reporting for the state to review it. This company may not be qualified or licensed as both inspectors state this is some really poor quality work. Will didn't turn on the gas and made that excuse, but the real reason is Will crimped the gas line and it smelled. The HVAC company fixed Trio's errors and purposeful intent. The HVAC company used was a success. I would highly be cautious of using Lowes for any consumer.
