All these big box stores like Lowe's use self-employed outside contractors to do things like fence installation and other construction projects. Therein lies the problem: Lowe's needs to keep the cost down and the less they pay for installation the better for Lowe's.

There are many local fence companies you can contract with to do the job and since they are local and depend on referrals will usually do a much better job than some unknown installer hired by Lowe's. That's just the way it is.

Never go thru a big box company for any construction project. Hire someone on your own.

Lowes - Paid for a fence installatiom in 6-18 and still not completed

Due to delays with neighbor and a boulder problem fence install was agreed to be done in Spring 2019. Fence was finally installed June 27-30, 2019 but Lowe's forgot to order the gate. Gate was ordered but I keep getting excuses for its not being installed. Lowe's is stating the delay is due to the neighbor and boulder problems which were taken care of LAST year and should have no effect in the installation delays this year. Installer agreed in 12-18 to install fence in SPRING of 2019 and job is still being delayed through no fault of mine. Loweswants to blame me now!!!! :shru U

Been waiting over 3 months to het our fence installed. Told we had to pay first which we did. They did deliver the fence had an installatin date if 8 /12/19 finally. My husband took a day off work nobody showed up or called. I called the project manager told him we were upset and it was unprofessional. Told him to call me and let me know what was going on. As of yet no phone call. We paid quite a bit for this fence

Lowe's typically pays the contractors they hire around 60% of what the contractor would get paid if they had gotten the job without lowe's being involved. That's why no one wants to do any work for them except contractors that are substandard or don't know what they are doing.

You are actually better off that they haven't shown up. Contact an actual fence contractor, pay a little more, and be a lot more satisfied with the outcome.

Lowe's is probably having problems getting whomever they contract with for fence installations to actually do the work or they actually don't have anyone to do the job for the price Lowe's wants to pay them. If you paid by credit card then contact Lowe's and tell them the delay is unacceptable and you want your money back in order to find a more reliable contractor on your own.

There are many small and large fence installation companies out there. Contact a couple and get an estimate while you wait for Lowe's to credit your card or refund you what you paid. If they delay or refuse then dispute the charge for work not accomplished, etc.

If you paid by check then you may have to threaten legal action. Going thru these big box stores for projects like this is usually a mistake as you never know who they will send out to do the job---or when.

Have you paid them for the fence? If you haven't hear from them since you got the estimate it sounds like you haven't actually ordered and paid for the fence yet. They won't order or deliver materials till the fence is paid for.

Lowes in Paterson, New Jersey - Shorted fencing that I paid for

Details
Lowes charged me for 42 lf of fencing, a 10ft drive gate, and a 4ft walk gate. When installed I received 28 lf of fencing, an 8ft drive gate, and a 4ft walk gate. I was clearly shorted the drive gate I paid for, but more importantly the 14 feet of fencing that was never delivered or installed. I have been back and forth with the sales department and they refuse to make it right. I have a clear contract that outlines this and physical proof that I did not receive what I initially paid for. If I could give them a 0 in ratings I would. They have no concern with customer satisfaction and therefore I will not be returning as a customer for any of my home improvement needs.

Lowe's did not hold up to Lowe's end of the contract...we contracted with Lowe's not a third party..the fence is still not finished going on four weeks.. customer service is really poor still waiting for the rest of our fence to be delivered...

Lowes - Too many materials ordered not accurately measured

We went with Lowe’s to install our fence. Brian the guy that came out. Did not get an accurate measurement, just estimated on length I’m guessing because he ordered way too many materials. We are now stuck with because we tried calling, texting and emailing him and lowes with no answers for the abundance of left over materials laying in our back yard. The contracted company was great. Lowes is the one taking people’s money and ordering too many materials and charging too much. If you want a fence pick someone else.

Did you ever think of actually going into the store with your receipts and a list of the left over materials? You'll have a lot better luck standing in front of the store manager and explaining your situation than you will over the phone or e-mailing. Some things are best done In person.

I hired Lowe's to replace the wooden door of my dry way with a new vinyl. They came to finish the work on the scheduled date 11/20/18 the work was half done and very bad to see after a month still the doors do not have a latch, the wind has done some damage, and had to move my dog My brother's house escaped twice. I have communicated with the customer service four times and they only tell me that I should keep waiting. for the price that I already paid them, they should provide much better service but it seems that they have no intention of finishing my work, in the end they charged in advance. It is really very worrying that large and established companies like Lowe's are also committing to scam their clients with many chances that their scams go unpunished. Be very careful with Lowe's they do not respect their customers
