November 2014 we moved into our new home in Norfolk VA and quickly had Lowes install fencing and a gate to enclose our back yard (also a new interior floor). On a rainy day Loews contractors installed 6x6 posts to anchor a gate between our home and detached garage.

That was the problem. On a rainy day the contractors did not wait for the concrete to "set" so the 6x6 next to our brick home started to tilt making the gate inoperable. For five or six subsequent visits by the contractors they did superficial repairs so the gate would close, but because they did not reinstall the slanting 6x6 these "repairs" were only temporary. Now, on October 1 after much patience and disappointment on our part, Lowes tells us the gate installation is out of warranty.

Yes, Lowes is apparently not concerned about delivering quality products and services or making good on warranties when they are responsible for delays outside the warranty time period. This is really happening...
