We purchased a custom vanity and counter top for our bathroom. We included Lowe's installation in the purchase. The contracted company came out to measure and access and said install would be easy. We then learned that Lowes would not install the unit we ordered from...

Did they give you a reason for not installing it. Lowes wouldn't and can't just back out.

At my store, we bend over backwards even on things that are not our fault to resolve for the customer. There has to be a reason.

Lowes in Bellevue, Nebraska - Lowe's used illegal aliens to install my carpet

And they didn't do a good job, either. We had to have them come out & fix their mistakes (the carpet didn't even make it to the wall in one spot). How do I know they were illegal? Because one left his wallet. No Driver's license. State ID card had one name, Mexican consular ID had a completely different name. Same picture. Lowe's claims they run ID checks - well, it was on the wrong person. And I doubt the guy had a SS# (an ITIN# is ridiculously easy to obtain). So far Lowe's is doing a major CMA dance. I wish I had thought to photo the ID's. They'll probably get away with it but dang, we're in a recession - there are plenty of legal unemployed folks who could use the work.

I have harsh news, and it's unfortunate you were basically swindled.

The reason you found what you found, and were able to put 2 & 2 together is that ID verification is owned by your government. It scrambles behind closed doors to decide who qualifies & who doesn't based on thier own mistakes & greed. They WANT illegals to take these positions simply for THIER own gain, not for the people (especially the ones struggling against the already severely interrupted work system).. It helps keep money flowing into politician's pockets while destroying workmanship...and essentially bringing down educational quality, the job market, and disturbing the economical balances. THIS IS A HUGE FLAW IN OUR OWN GOVERNMENT (and i'm sure you know that).

Thank you for listening & understanding

Lowes -Bad Rug Purchase

We purchased a berber rug March 2011 that was advertised for HIGH TRAFFIC AREA. The area which it was installed is NOT a high traffic, a media room which is hardly used. It is fraying at the seems, has pulls and looks worn.We contacted Lowes and got the run around, they sent an inspector who alluded that we could hire him for a favorable review on our behalf. The manufacturer states they rug is fine based on this inspectors report. Lowe's will not stand behind the product. The store manager, Laurie Creek has not been helpful or apologetic. The warranty is not on the rug but on the installation which is not disclosed at time of purchase. We have a six months old rug that looks 10yrs old. I never expected this from Lowe's

Share a bit more, please. The inspector would have worked for a contracting service via the manufacturer.

He sounds like a theif - report him and he'll get fired. As to the seams and pulls, what is the scenario with that room? If there are pets (claws), moving of very heavy furniture or electric wheelchairs involved, you don't have a leg to stand on.

Your installer (Lowe's) warrants the installation, the carpet manufacturer warrants the product. That being said, unless there are other issues that aren't revealed here, then keep pushing.

This past weekend on Saturday 8/11/11 I visited the Lowe's store at 20 International Drive South in Flanders, NJ 07836. I wanted to purchase a new garage door, and told an associate my door was 9 feet wide and they showed me an Amarr door model 500 (#101073 9 x 7)...

9x7 is a standard door. Why didn't YOU take the time to measure the door before you bought it or install it.

Sounds like you cut the top panel. Why do you even think they would want it back? Take responsibility for YOUR mistake. Buying the new door is the correct thing to do as you would need to order three panels.

The two middle panels and the top one you "altered" Typically is costs more to order three replacement panels than to order a complete door. Unfortunately you just had an expensive learning experience: Measure before you buy>

Lowes in Palm Springs, California - Sales Specialist did not complete order.

I requested that Lowes install a security/screen door from a Sales Specialist on June 6, 2011. An installer came out to measure the door two days later. When the sales specialist called with the measurements, I told her that he measured for the wrong kind of installation. She said that she would send someone else out to re-measure. As of today, August 16, 2011, no one has come out. I have spoken with her and a supervisor and no one has taken care of this problem. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and unreliability of such a large company. I will take my business elsewhere.

Lowes in Blaine, Minnesota - Carpet Pad Unavailable

I ordered carpet/padding from Lowes and was told it would be 10-12 days. I was shocked when they called within a week. I called my installer and agreed on a time for pick up and installation. The day of installation, he called to say carpet was in, padding was not. Therefore, I rearranged my house (which is tiny), slept in my living room and wasted my installer's day for NOTHING. Now, I have to put back the things I moved so I can function at home for two days before my installer can return. If you order carpet, be sure when they call to ask them if there is also padding to go with it...

DO NOT use Lowe's garage door opener installers! They are not professionals, are not honest, and Lowe's will be of no help if you have a problem with their work! After 26 years of service, the old garage door opener at my former residence (now a rental) broke....

Lowe's Pro, how long have you been working as an internet spin doctor for Lowe's? That's very cute how you blame the victim for Lowe's installer's wrongdoing.

FYI, and I should have included this in my review, I cut the cables because the installer ran away and wouldn't answer his phone or call me back.

They were hopelessly tangled around the axis bar. The only other option would have been an expensive evening call out from a real professional.

Lowes screwed up my floor installation

I bought my vinyl flooring from Lowes of Hermitage Tennessee. From the very first promise to the visit from, Larry, regional supervisor of installation Lowes fulfilled zero (0) of their promises. They did not call before delivering, or installing, just showed up! They "redefined" the guidelines for laying the louann after I had it laid and charged and extra $200 although they did not relay any of it. They charged for supplies they did not use but did not offer a refund and most importantly they installation job was totally botched! The floor is wavy, the quarter round looks like a kindergarten class installed it. I have talked with 3 different folks in the installation department: Donald, Justin, Cathy; the store manager, Stefan; and the regional supervisior for installation, Larry. Although each agreed my complaints were valid and each one is "sorry for my inconvenience" and have stated Lowes did not follow their own policy none of them actually fixed the problem. Never, never, never have Lowes of Hermitage, Tennesse intall anything in your home.

I went through the same thing with Lowe's. Three different managers at the store, as well as a manager at their HQ took all of my information, then never got back to me.

This was over a bad install that left my property damaged! Leave a BBB complaint - I did.

I had a similar situation about 5 years ago with a Lowe's here in NJ. Complained up to a national level, got nothing but a go-around.

They nailed down a laminate floor that is supposed to be a floating floor. A contractor saw this when he was installing some cabinets. The contractor they used was a total sexist pig.

I did finally sue them in small claims court and got $2500 back for the shoddy installation.

Good luck.

Lowe's intalled a sliding door in October 2006 and we discovered leaks into the basement last year. After caulking and replacing rotting sheathing underneath, door still leaked. Decided in December 2010 it was time to have it removed and another door installed...

I too have a door that Lowe's replaced less than a year ago that is leaking. I plan to call them but the installer we had was so horrible (didn't show up, took days to finish job, cut corners) I'm concerned what circus this will be.

I will NEVER use or recommend Lowe's to anyone. My neighbors also vow that they will never use Lowes after watching our saga.

Lowes needs to follow their own policies.

They need to read their policy that they have displayed to the public. Installation within 72 hours with instock merchandise...I had to wait a week. Then they *** the old power cord and reuse it after knowing we would be installing the dishwasher at a rent house... :( They only offer for us to return to the store and pick up a power cord. No one at the store told us we would not have it installed and no one told us that they would reuse a 10 year old power cord. If the power cord fails and our home catches on fire...I'll be calling an attorney.
