We had a complete kitchen remodel gutting everything to the studs, electrical and plumbing with a cost close to $40,000. Lowe's was very nice planning it out. Down fall is you need to pay up front the full cost before they start, this was a big mistake. It made sense at the time because I figured they were a large company which would back everything, this was mistake #2. You must purchase everything through them or they advise you it may slow down the process, I did, mistake #3. There was no finish date on the contract, mistake #4. Work started with one of their general contractors which I could find no reviews about, mistake #5. Numerous problems started happening from the time they started. Cabinets were missing molding and some damaged to general material damaged. Repairs were made to the cabinets which now make them look like seconds. Electrical was good. Originally plumbing changes were not up to code and were eventually changed after I complained. The floor was a vinyl plank floor which was a disaster and is still. Lowe's eventually compensated me for a quarter of the cost of the floor only. I agreed to this because legal venues would have only cost me more. Lowe's eventually turned there back on me after my complaints from their main office out of state. I would Stay AWAY from them and look to find a local contractor with good references. Don't do the mistakes I made.

Contracted for kitchen remodel. Lowes abandoned the contract and remodel when mistakes were discovered and repairs needed. Contacted Lowes President, Lowes Executive Customer Service, Local Building Inspector, BBB, and Ohio State Attorney General. VERBALLY, Lowes admitted mistakes. In writing, Lowes Central Production Dept is closing the case with no repairs to unsafe electrical. They have defaulted on contract by refusing to complete remodel, fix fire hazard, did not deliver one cabinet or install, etc.

Any updates on the situation? We have similar issues where they delivered cream and brown countertops when we picked grey and white and are refusing to replace it, not to mention the 15 other numerous issues that have gone on with mis-measurements of cabinets and nickel and diming is for things they cannot provide that we have already paid for...

Lowe's doesn't do remodels. They contract it out to local contractors.

You will actually need to sue the contractor.

Lowe's can and will weasel out of any and all liability for the work that has been done. Your attorney will figure that out pretty quickly.

Around Mother's Day 2016, My Sister And I went to Lowes, West Side of Dothan, Al to look at Kitchen Cabinets, Shane Cobb Approached me and ask if I would come see him after a couple of days, and he would return to work. I did and he stated that he was going to school for Home Advisor and be patient and I would have the kitchen of my dreams, I had told him I had in mind what I wanted as I had 3 previous kitchen remodeled with homes I purchased. In late Nov, he called me in and said I would have my kitchen by Thanksgiving, Then Christmas they would have completion In- out in 3 days.Middleof Jan, cabinets delivered . Had purchased appliances from USAA delivered the 28th of Dec. 4,500.00 Lowes Purchase 33,600 some dollars for cabinets, sink , backsplash tile floor and lighting, popcorn ceiling removed in living room and kitchen, promised it would look sleek. Later after ceiling was done called Shane Cobb over to look at it, he shook his head and said his young daughters could of done better.But did nothing about it, until 2018 After complaining about how bad it looked. In 2018 after 5 different agents , supervisors managers came over took pictures and wrote down what was not done right, ordered supplies they came over to try to amend what wasn't done right. Tabitha of Lowes Management said it wasn't there job to hang curtains that were taken down from Lowes, nor was the molding to match the cabinets be corrected as was put in the order. I has got less cabinets space then before, when ask for more cabinet space, cabinets put up with holes in drywall, mentioned to Shane, He shook his head.This was no way a Dream Kitchen, Now I know why this Home Advisor did not show me a vitual recording of what my kitchen would look like in the end results. But was always eager to call and ask if I would like some lemons, oranges dropped off from his fathers farm. I live alone and he would drop off baskets of fruit. I say this was his way of trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. Now after 2 yrs of having to put up with Lowes not doing RIGHT!!!! They Want me to have another Associate Tabitha Come Over And Try To Do Me Right,Pictures Will Soon Be At Lowes For Customers To See. This has caused me a lot of Health Issues and Stress that Lowes will take advantage of SENIOR CITIZENS!!!!! Before you Buy at Lowes Come See My Kitchen.

We thought going with Lowes would make our kitchen renovation a dream… it was a total nightmare. My wife and I own 5 properties and I’ve had hundreds of thousands of dollars of work done over the years. However my regular contractor moved away & I didn’t know who to call to have our kitchen renovated. I’ve never used a big box store & after this experience I will never use Lowes again. I have to say that Mike Leonard (designer) and Russel Fitzgibbons (sales) were both knowledgeable & very helpful until the end. The reason we went with a big box store is we were sold a lie. We were told that by having Lowes do everything we’d save sales tax on everything (cabinets/appliances which was true) & that all the contractors who came to our house would be licensed, insured and background checked (not true we had the most incompetent, unlicensed people, uninsured workers that showed up to do work). Yes the subcontractor for Lowes has insurance and is licensed, but then to save money they get whomever they can to do the work & they do it as fast as they can. We had $60K+ renovation (down to the studs) and permits weren’t obtained, floors weren’t leveled, walls weren’t prepped, cabinets were literally thrown up without measuring etc. Less than halfway through the project we couldn’t take it any more. The subcontractor for Lowes put in a hood vent, cut *** in the roof & that night rain water poured into the attic! When I contacted the contractor they wanted to just caulk it & they weren’t sure if it was their fault! Our house was a disaster area & we didn’t know where to turn, but things were so bad, we would rather take our chances with the unknown than with Lowes. I had kept a log of the issues with Homerun Handyman who Lowes hired & sent this over to Lowes Corporate, thinking they would be helpful and understanding. The reaction from corporate Lowes was appalling! After Shanjae from Lowes Corporate read the issues that we had with the sub-contractors poor workmanship and “shaking us down” for more money (outside of the Lowes contract) we felt they would be as upset as we were. Corporate wasn’t upset at all… in fact they told us we waited too long to contact them & they never had an issue with this contractor before (which wasn’t true). As it turned out Homerun Handyman’s electrician told us of a major issue Lowes/Homerun Handman had with another police office and a kitchen remodel. At one point Lowes Corporate even contemplated calling the police on us when we asked to have their subcontractors tools picked up… they felt we were refusing to give back the tools? The bottom line: Lowes in my opinion & the opinion of contractors I’ve talked with hire contractors that are willing to work for lower rates. As a result, the consumer suffers from rushed jobs and inexperienced or inept contractors. Don’t think you are going to save money… you won’t. What ever contract you negotiate, it’s going to cost you more. Don’t think that you are going to be covered by Lowes Corporate for anything that goes wrong… when things went wrong with our job… they didn’t care and didn’t help.

We just cancelled our kitchen remodel With Lowe’s, and are back to square one. The kitchen designer has to be one of the most disorganized people I’ve ever met, and was either late or completely missed every meeting.

When we were blown off for the last time all they cared about was getting their fee for measuring for cabinets.

I told them that their disorganization and lack of professionalism was why they lost the job so not to hold their breath waiting to be paid. After reading these other comments, we seem to have dodged a bullet.

Update: We ordered and paid in full for custom kitchen cabinets from Lowe's 294 days (OVER 9 MONTHS!!!) ago and so far, it has cost us more than $10,000 beyond what we agreed to pay. There has been so many problems it's not even funny.

The craftsmanship has been horrid, 4 of the cabinets needed replaced due to the installers. They've also managed to break 2 brand new appliances, run over my mailbox and STOLE STUFF FROM MY TOOLBOX (Yes, I have video footage).

Me too, my whole living room downstairs, could have been flooded during the night because of non licensed plumber booking up our water line from refrigerator to waterline in the line above living area below. Contractor fired.

Still 180 days later, Avery small kitchen, and 25k paid feb 18 to Roanoke, va, yes I’ve contacted about 4 different agents at corporate in Indianapolis so many times. It’s a joke. My countertop still not in, tricked by sales person putting in a sink that looks like it came out of trailer with the 3k quartz countertop. It still hasn’t been resolved.

I had to pay a professional plumber to fix the wrong plumbing with refrigerator water line. I’m waiting one more week. Before looking for alternative measures to rectify this horrible remodel. Seems from all I’ve read, that I’m not the only person to be fooled by Lowe’s.

All problems also documented since day one.

I hope this will help anyone in the future from making the same mistakes I have. Best of luck to everyone.

We wish we had seen this before we purchased from Lowe's. Our experience so far has been nothing short of HORRIBLE.

We ordered and paid in full for custom kitchen cabinets from Lowe's 180 days ago. They still aren't done.

Installers have ruined cabinets that needed re-ordered, broken an appliance in the process and left our house a disaster. Had Kitchen Remodeled, Popcorn Ceiling Taken Off In Living Room & Kitchen. Went To Lowes In 2016, Late May Talked To Salesman For Complete Kitchen Remodel, Had Waited For Him To Start & Finish His Home Advisor Schooling. Signed Contract In Dec 2016,Was Suppose to start In Jan 2017 The 3rd and Completed The 6th . Did Not Start until Late Jan. Of Us Today Feb 18, 2018 Still Not Completed Right, Paid 33,000 For This Job, Bought Appliances From Another Company For 4,000. Told This Would Be A Dream Kitchen, Home Advisor Did A Poor Job Into Designing My Kitchen, Wanted More Cabinet Space Got Less. Ceiling Was A Really Poor Job Of Painting, Blotches All Over. Cabinets Kraft Maid Had Flaws On Most Of The Doors And So Much More Done Poorly. Called Corporate Center Twice, They Returned Call And Said Someone From Lowes Would Be Over To Take Pictures And Fix What Ever Was Not Done Right. Lowes Had Three Different People To Come And Do Such. Said They Would Jump On This Right Away. Home Advisor Has Never Did A Final review Or Apologise For The Job That Was Done So Bad. Last Designer was Suppose To Come Over The 5th of Feb And Fix Things That Were Not done Right, Still as Of Today No One Appeared! Do Not Go To Lowes For Any Improvement, If You Do Think A 33,000 Kitchen Will Be Out Of this World, Come See My Kitchen Or I Do Have Pictures!

Almost 3 months ago this hellacious process started. The tear out and install should have taken a month at most. I have drawers that hit the handles of opposing drawers which prevents them from opening up all the way and I have TWO different styles of cabinets!! I paid for the expensive Kraft maid brand and what they sent was something less. The entire process has been a nightmare and Lowes and it's upper management chose to not stand behind the customer much less their work. DO NOT Do business with Lowes for kitchen remodels much less design. I reached out to the CEO and actually got a response from someone at corporate however they finally responded and said they won't help me.

I understand your anger, truly.

What I will say is simply this... the old adage of " you catch more flies with honey then with vinegar" could not be more true.

Keep consistent, but stay understanding.

You will get results. They may take time.

What you have to understand is when it comes to Installed Sales... These Installers are chosen by corporate and not the store, and they sign very specific contracts with how and what they will do.

At times many installers are scheduled multiple weeks out. So for them to immediately stop and return to your home would set a ripple that would impact dozens others. Sadly we cant force the installers to fix or change anything.

Its much like getting hit by someone with out insurance...

it happens but you at no fault of your own are left with all the costs... now imagine this in the contexts of peoples home's. An average Lowe's installed department goes into 23 peoples homes a day. That's 115 peoples projects a week.

Even at a 95% completions success rate. Incidents happen.

Lowe's will always make it right, but they try not to just open up the register and throw money at a problem... often times the process is long due to them holding the installers responsible.

Very wise advice. Being a senior citizen makes for lots of exasperating experiences with installers, but we find that kindness while angry is a skill difficult to employ.

We have been waiting for a Lowes installer for a month to get the fence up. :)

If you look at the picture you see a basic design error. The designer didn't place a filler next to a blind corner cabinet. Who ever drew the kitchen was either new or in a rush and skipped the required filler.

After months of planning with the designer , I finally ordered my kitchen in Beginning of July... I paid of $12000... for cabinets and appliances. I was told the demo and instal would be around 1200$ Turns out they wanted over $5000. Alone for the demo it was 2300$... I decided thats a job we could do ourselves, it took 3 hours to take down old cabnets and haul them to the dump. Lowes cordinator obviously gets paid a commision on the work she contracts out... Obviously she was not happy about our demo do it your self... I agreed on the install for 1145$ After ordering, there was little comunication from her... I kept pressing for a date of the install, since we had a estimated date of the delivery. She kept saying" no worries" since you did the demo, we just have to check it was done right... I finally a week before the cabnetts arrived, wrote an email, the next day or so I got a date... It would be a month after the delivery! She knew I would be having out of town visitors and then leaving out of the country... she in my opionion purposely delayed the install out of revenge... I wrote to the coporate headquarters, addressing my letter to the CEO , Mr. Niblock... I recived a call from his Blocker ...phone tag for serval days, and when i did get her on the phone 3 days later, I was informed that Lowes will NOT install the cabinets at all. I was shocked to hear this. What am I suppose to do? She said to find my own installer.... it was not their problem... So the kitchen cabinetts were dumped at my house this week... Aug... I drove to lowes to get the blue prints... I was told by the designer, He is NOT allowed to talk to me... He is NOT allowed to give me my blue prints... He said his hands are tied... I then saw the corninator come walking by, and she then alerted the store manger... He shot around the corner and stood 15 feet away staring me down...the designer apologized ... He said he does not know what to say... he understands its impossible to install the kitchen without the blueprint... and he recommends i call the blocker back at the corporate office... I have been humiliated, treated as if i were a shoplifter, and discriminated... Unbelievable how they can take your money and then dump off the kitchen and run... the courior didnt even do the inventory with me... Lowes was suppose to come and inspect the cabinets, no one came ... I called the store again... pleading i need the blueprints... again... i was told they cant give them to me... I aslo paid for a gas stove and a dishwasher and a sink... I asked when will they be delivered... he had no answer... They are being held hostaged too... I cant believe I gave this store 12,000... for this mess... The CEO, Mr, Nitblock , could care less about the treatment of his customers... he wont even asked his mail, he has a total of 18 blockers at his corporate office to fend off his unhappy customers... I will now call the attorney general, contact our wavy TV 10 and hire a lawyer... Buyers beware, hope this does not happen to others, but after researching reviews, this is not an isolated case of bad customer service... I dont know how these people still have a job, or how they stay in business.

Of coarse the ceo is not responding , the have what I call blockers ... 16 of them ...

I wrote daily .... never got a any further ...

other then the blocker who apologized , blah blah ... I will never step foot in the store again !

Do you really think a CEO of a nationwide company has the time to answer consumer complaints? Life just doesn't work that way.

If he had one customer per store each week seeking his attention he would have to answer 46 requests per hour based on a 40 hour work week. Your expectations or an individual are unreasonable.

That is why they have customer service departments to handle problems. I would expect you would want not only more than 90 seconds of consideration for your complaint and I would also think you would a CEO to have a little more responsibility than handling customer comments.

Here are the facts... Lowe's Corporate chooses Installers.

The individual stores have little to no say over who does work for them.

The contracts go out like a reverse auction... the company the goes the lowest on labor prices gets the deal. Quality does lack.

The first fundamental issue that most customers do not see is, Lowe's (individual stores) cant just open up a cash drawer and solve the problem.

That may make you happy, but that does not correct the bad work.

The stores have to follow a corporate process that is long on purpose to remove certain installers from "rotation".

Lowe's llegally has to allow he same installer who F'd a job to go back out and attempt to fix it 3 times... at no financial burden to the Installer, do forget this whole time Lowe's is paying for this person's time.

Not the customer, ultimately customers suffer, but please next time you pick up the phone and want to yell at someone in the store, know that there is little they can do right away.

Its not a good system, but it is the one they have to follow to keep there jobs. I'm sure you can understand that.

Kitchen and bathroom remodel nightmare. They literally did demo in mid-October. As you can see from the photo(now feb 23), we still do not even have walls in the kitchen. Also, the debris is completely scratching the just installed floor. I have been in constant contact with corporate Lowes, but it's just excuse upon excuse. I don't think they care at all. The latest was that they claimed that a specialist was onsite and that our project was on track although I know that no one was at our house that day, so no one really came and visited. We have all the materials in our living room and they ruined the floor in there as well. No one ever comes to do work and they really do not care. They made us pay upfront which was a huge mistake.
