They botched our kitchen floor ; using two rolls to complete the job which were manufactured in differing "Lot" numbers and did not match as they should have.

We also have leaking windows from a LOWES INSTALL. Looking to find out more info with how till was handled and what we need to do to get compensated for replacements as well. Windows leak and drip into our walls thanks to the poor install.

Lowes in Mears, Michigan - A customer service nightmare

We used Lowes in Muskegon, Michigan, to supply us for a major remodeling of our home. With the mistakes they've made and the snotty customer service, even after we spent tens of thousands with them, I can't help but wonder how this company remains in business. Inattentive sales staff, combative customer service and outright lies are their hallmark. How about countertops ordered in January, finally shipped in May ... and they were wrong? How about a store manager who blamed a back order on a dock strike on the west coast that she couldn't say even affected our delivery? How about the kitchen and bath "designer" who hides and refuses to return messages or pick up calls when things go south? How about a sales guy so nuts, he can't focus on the customer's needs and, instead, babbles on about his guns, his advanced college degrees and his wife, who he seems to loathe? If you need a box of nails or some lawn seed, go for it ... if it's anything much more complex than that, avoid Lowes and seek help elsewhere. Learn from our nightmare.

Lowes in Seattle, Washington - Unfairly treated

I know this is repeating several other's claims, but I had to file a discrimination claim against my store "manager". You know what? Nothing ever was addressed on it! What a surprise from this company. The "manager" eventually found something to fire me for, though. I got back into the remodeling business, and Lowe's is never on my shopping list. In fact, my friends, neighbors and family do not shop Lowe's. I say we hit them in the wallet, folks. If we can get together and spread the word about this company, maybe someday they will change their policies toward employees. And, yes, they hire folks with no idea of what hardware is and how it works.

I think a great front door will go a long way in impressing your guests. I got mine custom installed from Heritage Homes of Toronto( http://www.heritagehomedesign.ca/ ).

Got some really good compliments from friends and family and I would suggest their service for anyone out there who is on home renovations. The staff were so warm and friendly and the wood coating was commendable too.

I think there are umpteen number of tutorials on how to plan a custom window or door that's already available online. This blog and the comments might help someone in need I hope.

This is what happens when you are too lazy to hire your own contractor. When you hire your own contractor you have the opportunity to check their references and get to know who will be working i n your home.

You also have control over the project and the ability to fire the contractor if you want. Instead you let a retail store pick the low price contractor to do the job. Yes Lowes makes a profit on what the contractor charges them.

It's in their best interest to find the lowest priced contractor to do the job and increase their profits. These profits could have been in your pockets if you had taken the time to find a reputable contractor on your own.
