Not sure why you would end up paying for "a job half-done"with no avenue for recourse. Perhaps you paid them in full prior to installation?

If so, big mistake. You may be able to sue Lowe's in small claims court. Check it out. Lowe's will deny any liability as they didn't make the windows nor do they employ the installer---they are sub-contractors used by Lowe's for these jobs and are supposed to carry their own insurance, etc.

When you go to a big box store and have construction work done, be aware that the big box store will try to ignore your problems and deny any culpability, blaming the sub or the manufacturer.

Check out the small claims court filing. They have a maximum dollar limit, depending on your state.

Went to have an entry door installed, tried to charge us 345 for the door, 389 install fee, 400 from the contractor, 117 to remove storm door and put it back on, 35 measurement and 16 lead test. The install fee was more than the friggin door, the guy came did the measurements and never did lead test, and, Lowe’s System doesn’t allow refunds on that. Not to mention it was a stock door. Why is Lowe’s charging 389? On top of that they committed fraud by not returning the $16 for the lead test not being completed.

Lowes in Paterson, New Jersey - Shorted fencing that I paid for

Details
Lowes charged me for 42 lf of fencing, a 10ft drive gate, and a 4ft walk gate. When installed I received 28 lf of fencing, an 8ft drive gate, and a 4ft walk gate. I was clearly shorted the drive gate I paid for, but more importantly the 14 feet of fencing that was never delivered or installed. I have been back and forth with the sales department and they refuse to make it right. I have a clear contract that outlines this and physical proof that I did not receive what I initially paid for. If I could give them a 0 in ratings I would. They have no concern with customer satisfaction and therefore I will not be returning as a customer for any of my home improvement needs.

Receiving a delivery from Lowe's was worst experience ever. During the 5 days of this process, they would schedule the delivery and then cancel on the day it was suppose to happen. This would be an ongoing process and showed no care about it. They would come up with different excuses, like system error, and would heartlessly reschedule the delivery date. If you are buying something that needs to be delivered, don't get it from Lowe's because they provide terrible service. They still did not deliver my washing machine. The location of this branch is in Paterson, New Jersey.

Lowes in Paterson, New Jersey - Eta date was 1130/13 order date was 11/2/13

I ordered a door in the Paterson store...paid for it in full...they said door would be in on the 30 th...now I went to the store personally got the run aroundsaid it was delayed because of the holidays. It now would be in onthe. 3rd of Dec. I gave a contracted who was ready to install my door but no door...called the store now they are saying theme ninety...so unacceptable...contractor is now charging time....if no answer tomorrow I want a redound....the people at the store were so nasty....will not be shopping there ever

The title of your complaint contains eta. This is ESTIMATED time of arrival.

Never schedule a contractor based on an eta. Wait until you have the product to set an installation date.

This is true whether you buy the product at Lowes, Home Depot or a small lumber yard. If they are not making it in a shop out back there is no way they can guarantee a delivery date.
