Upon purchasing a shower door, we noticed during the sale that the packaging had been opened; however, the sales associate assured us that the package was just torn, not opened. We purchased the door and traveled 45 miles (one-way) to install...when the box was opened there was a pack of screws that did not match the enclosed instructions...we attempted to install the door and was not able to use the enclosed hardware.
I called Lowe's and they said to bring the receipt and they would take the hardware out of another box, so we could finish our installation. Went to Lowe's and they gave me the hardware. The point is: when they take parts from another boxed item, they do not replace the missing items.
Which causes more problems for the next customer, that is buying the same product. This has happened more than 6 times since 2009; also, this is an extra expense for the customer and requires longer time on the job site.
