Purchased and paid in full for some of the nicer carpet. One 19 by 20 living room Lowe’s have one install date and the installer called to delay it. Was then notified by Lowe’s of a different date. Still no carpet / install to date. Very poor communication between all parties. When I called Lowe’s and navigated their computer menu the customer service rep acted like they were doing charity work for me. When I called the Contractor he was indignate and cited problems he was having. Neither party took responsibility. Wish it wasn’t so but cash money doesn’t seem to mean as much to this company.

Are you saying you only needed a 4x12 piece of carpet (48 s.f) and ordered a 12x15 piece of carpet (180 s.f.) and didn't think that was odd when you purchased it?

It isn't a Lowes problem. It is a manufacturer problem.

Your were given a delivery date provided by the manufacturer. Unfortunately if the manufacturer runs out of stock in their warehouse the don't inform the store. The store only finds out when the truck shows up with a packing slip marked backordered. The manufacturer isn't much help in letting the store know when to actually expect shipment.

They can only wait each week until the product actually shows up on the truck. This is something g I learned from experience selling appliances at another big box home center.

I purchase a door and the wind blew it off they say thay cant fix it but i can buy a cheaper door o dont wany another i had tonwait firnthem tonget this door. Wind catching a door is not a defect in the door. No, they don't use 3" screws to install the door.

They use the 1" screws supplied by the manufacturer. Face it, the wind caused the damage, not something the installer or the manufacturer did.

I don’t understand the need to go to Lowe’s or any other big store like that when there are countless small individual contractors who are probably your neighbors, friends and will go out of their way to satisfy their customers. Most belong to the Better Business Bureau and depend on a good reputation which they fight to maintain.

These people care about their community, pay local taxes, sponsor kids sports, etc. All you have to do is decide on your project, your budget, materials, and research goes a long way. Get three written estimates and customer recommendations.

Also, expect to have at least 10% increase in contingency for unexpected problems or change orders. If you can’t handle the working with reputable professionals, do the job yourselves.

Have you taken the time to read the entire service plan. Most of these plans don't cover cosmetic problems but only those that affect to operation of the appliance. Peeling paint unfortunately would be considered a cosmetic problem.

What do you want someone to call you? If you have a problem with Lowes and want to talk to someone contact them. Posting on a public complaint board that has nothing to do with Lowes isn't going to do much for you.
