Lowes in Roanoke, Virginia - Incompetence abound

I recently went into a Lowe's here in town. It took me 20 minutes to find someone in the lawn and garden section to get a simple spark plug. In addition to that, when I finally got it, I went to check out, the store had 3 lines open, with 15 people waiting at 1. The other two had people talking and arguing about what they were and were not going to do to get things ordered. The second line had a 'manager' trying to work the computer system to even find the item that the customers were trying to buy. After 1 HOUR and 2 line changes I finally just pushed the basket away and left. These stores have no people, no competence, and no caring about their customers whatsoever.

OK, I got a look at the Lowe's antiquated computer system which employees struggle with since it Linux-based and Lowe's has ancient computers which leads me think that they don't spend money on technology. That isn't incompetence on the employee's part.

I may be assuming too much in asking if you are an analytical, competent shopper? When I go to the store, I go when traffic is low. If you went on a bright sunshiney Saturday, it was probably packed and you aren't royalty, so get in line. As for the computers, you need to complain to the higher-ups, because the employees can not help that they are given a Yugo and then told to break the speed record for you in it.

If you were considering these factors and solutions to them, you might have a better shopping experience in the future. Think outside of yourself.

Lowes in Reston, Virginia - Rude

Two trips to the paint department, trying to match an existing color. First day, only friendly helpful service! They were great. Unfortunately I got semi-gloss paint, and the color I was trying to match was flat.I went in with my samples the next day, and the employee's were not interested in helping me or advising me. The attitude was, I will mix the paint as long as you know what color you want. Anything beyond that forget it! Wow! What happened to the crew that was there the day before? I regret not going to Home Depot to begin with!

Lowes Customer Sercice is too time consuming

They think like it's not their problem. They don't call me to update the status and when ever I call they don't have an improved status. It's been 24 hours I don't have my money and merchandise. Very poor way of treating a customer who spent #3000 dollars in this economy. I went to Lowe's in Laurel,MD and bought $200 worth of furniture. Wanted to get out quickly and chose to use SELFCHECKOUT. I use 2 store credit cards successfully and wanted to pay remaining with my credit card. System suddenly froze. I called customerservice and found out that the money was deducted from my store cards but they can't complete the transaction. I was pissed. I said I don't want anything, give my money back. They are working with the accounting to put money back to my card.

Lowes in Suffolk, Virginia - Did not notify me

I went to Lowe's in Emporia three times to buy roofing shigles for my house in a two week period. No manager or saleperson said anything about the tax break card, if you send over $500.00 dollar until I made my last purchase for the shigles at the end. I bought $800.00 dollars of shigles first, then when back and bought $300.00 dollars , and last I bought the third time $85.00 dollars of shingles and the sales told me there was a tax break card you could have put the money on and got 10% back.

All you have to do is go in with all your receipts have them refund/rebill onto the tax credit card. Im 99% percent sure that they will do that for you, how ever they do have this card advertised on tv, in ads and they have a display right by the front entrance. U have to look at this way the average store has 500 customers per day, is it really reasonable to ask every single to purchase the tax credit gift card?

Lowes in Herndon, Virginia - Terrible Vinyl Floor Inastallation

Lowes installed a vinyl floor with Balance Point as their contractor. They did a horrific job, couldn't bevel the molding, destoyed my refridgerator. After 3 attempents, Balance Point still could not get it right, and Lowes would not make it right. Mark, the owner of Balance Point has promised to send an appliance repair man to *** the damage to my refidgerator and even told Lowes that he paid someone to check the damage, but to this day no one has called or shown up. Mark from Balance point is a liar and a thief. Do not let his crew into your home. Once they have your money you are on your own. I will never do any major business with them. Lowes losers

Lowes is by far the worst place to work for. My managers would talk trash behind workers backs and be a smart *** to workers they did not like. They spend so much time watching workers on cameras then caring about customers. Most managers have no degree whatsoever, hence do not know the correct way to communicate in a professional manner. Its very sad to see what Lowes is doing hiring within, their getting uneducated bosses who know nothing but to try to act intimidating and scary to fellow employees. My boss would never even take a second to say hi to employees and stare at that ground when walking past him. My boss would also use slander against employees, use the buddy system for favorites. This may not be the case at other stores but it is at 447 Christiansburg Va. What a shame, I am quitting because of suck immature childish behavior by adults who act like kids.

The same holds true for all the Lowes in WNC....they all suck to work for, unless you are a pretty girl or are young then you will get fast-tracked to a cushy job.

I feel your pain. I had the same experience at a Lowes here in Georgia.

Inbred rednecks who don't know how to do their jobs. God forbid they have the title Zone manager or Sales manager...its a powertrip for them. I reported them to the EEOC.

Lowes doesn't like that. They don't like to look bad...oh well

Lowes in Spotsylvania, Virginia - Blinds

Awful service, Very unorganized. I ordered Blinds from this store paid in full for installation, on the day of installation which I took the afternoon off they call me with 1 hour delay saying they forgot to order brackets, another 2 weeks pass by and I recieve the brackets but when I call they say they don't have anybody available for installation. I would never go back to this store. They don't have anyone helping you withe the issue they are responsible for. They just pass you off to eachother on the phone.I hate LOWES and will never shop from their store.

I had a similar situation this morning. A customer comes in and wants to know what Lowe's is going to do for her since her Over the range microwave quit working after 5 years.

Lowe's offers a 1 year replacement on something small like that but the customer didn't purchase nor would it have mattered anyway since the Micro is 5 yrs old. I gave her the number to the service advantage and told her to call for service, she said that its going to cost her, and I told her yes, it will, but it's not Lowe's problem that the micro only lasted 5 years, she should call GE and complain to them. Same with your Christmas tree. You had the darn thing for years now all of a sudden cause some light went out you want a big refund.

I say you don't deserve any refund. At most I'd discount a new string of lights for you.

Lowes sucks, don't buy extended warranties

do not buy the extended warranty, matter of fact don't buy from Lowes. They don't stand behind the product. My two year old oven died which cost $1000 dollars. Mother board dead. With extended warranty they lock you into a company that lies-makes appointments then cancels less than 48 prior. "They overbooked" give me a break-you wait one week to see your overbooked. Then send you the part right away-so now "oh we can't switch companies now that you have the part". I want to know how to reach corporate!!!! A&E service is a company that lies. Don't use them.

Oh wait everyone uses the same servicers.. good luck with no appliances... maybe if you made a few phone calls you would have got a new applaince cause Lowes does stand behind product...
